in forming their own households.
• They came of age during an era of major
technological shifts, especially those
associated with the rise of the Internet
• They are considered the first digital
generation, quickly acclimating
to new technologies, including
smartphones, social media, and
streaming entertainment.
• Millennials are the first generation
to integrate all manner of digital
technology into their daily lives.
• Millennials were the first
young adults to have access to a
broad range of media suited
to their specific tastes.

6. • COVID-19
• They are on track to be the most
well-educated generation yet.
• They are also digital natives who have little or
no memory of the world as it existed before
smartphones.
• Across a number of measures, Gen Zers and
Millennials stand out from older generations
in their views of family and
societal change.
• According to a 2018 Pew
Research Center survey, 95% of
13- to 17-year-olds have access to
a smartphone, and a similar
share (97%) use at least one of
seven major online platforms.

technology, information, and external
influences than any generation before them.
• They are deemed social, global and mobile
as they will work, study and travel
between different countries and
multiple careers.
• While adolescence begins earlier,

longer, start their earning years
later and so stay at home with
their parents for longer than
was previously the case.
