Zoroastrianism Research Paper
Where, and by whom was Zoroastrianism founded, and what was the emphasis of his teaching
Zoroaster is the name by which the West knows the prophet of ancient Persia, more correctly called
Zarathushtra. It was usual to date him about 600 bce, but the evidence of language is persuading more
scholars nowadays to date him about 1200 bce, which means he lived when Persia was emerging from
the Stone Age, and would make him the first of the great prophets of the world s religions. (Partridge

Seatbelts Essay
THE STRATEGIES OF SEATBELT POLICY AND PLANNING
Seatbelt policy require a combined approach which include the legislation, penalties, standards and
interventions (mandatory and voluntary) in order to increase the compliance of its enforcement.
Enforcement of this policy is expected to be the most effective tool for a high level compliance among
the motorists.
Pre requirements
There are three basic requirements to be followed before the enforcement campaign begins.
1. Lead by example: All government agencies, most especially the
Police departments, health and transportation should make it mandatory for all their staffs under their
employee contracts to always be seen wearing the seatbelts at all times.
2. Inform the public about enhanced enforcement: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The capacity of police force in terms of number and resources should be examined in advance so as to
explore the procedure to take in order to integrate the enforcement of seatbelt law into existing
policing activities. Traffic police must be well trained in the seatbelt law and how best to enforce it.
Once the resources owned by the police is determined, they can easily decide whether to introduce a
blanket enforcement which covers all areas or phase enforcement where they target areas where
seatbelt wearing rate is low or areas where casualty rates is high among vehicle occupants.
Actions of the police when violators are apprehended can also be phased. Warnings and explanation of
the new laws could be started with for a specific period before the introduction of the appropriate
fines. Increasing the fine severity can also help to increase the use of seatbelts among the vehicles
occupant but this can only be implemented through legislation process.
However, senior police officers and other top government officials are expected to take a lead in the
initial planning and implementation. Police commanders must appreciate the enforcement cost
compared to the rescue operations cost, medical treatment and rehabilitation of the

Buddhist Buddhism And Food Of Buddhism
Buddhist Vegetarianism and Foods
In China, Buddhism is an ancient religion with numerous followers. Vegetarians are generally
regarded as Buddhists because people know that Buddhism is a religion that prohibits eating meat.
Buddhism originated in ancient India, which found by a prince of realm called Gautama Buddha in
three thousand years ago. (Henry, 2012) It spread to China in the Western Han Dynasty. It not only
brought a new religion for China, but also had a profound impact on the vegetarian culture at that
time. We will describe the relationship between the Buddhism and its vegetarian culture through food
varieties of vegetarian diet, dishes, and the benefits to the human body.
Food varieties of Buddhist Vegetarianism
Buddhists mainly eat grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. A lot of people have
stereotype of Buddhist, which monks do not eat meat because it is considered breaking no killing rule.
However, that is not entirely true. Buddhism does not forbid its followers to eat meat at the beginning.
Moreover, there are many different stringent requirements for whether or what kind of meat Buddhists
can eat depend on different sects of Buddhism. Thus, Buddhism does not have a uniform standard
diet.

Malpura Ewes
Experiment summary
The purpose of the study was to observe the effects of multiple stresses on reproduction of Malpura
ewes. The study aimed to provide evidence on multiple stressors that impact livestock productivity in
this region. Stresses investigated in this study included thermal, nutritional and walking stress, which
livestock are subjected to as a result of extremely variable temperatures, low forage availability, and
inadequate water supply. Researchers hypothesized that heat stress, in combination with nutritional
and walking stress negatively affects the reproductive abilities in Malpura ewes, a phenomenon
largely attributed to the changing climate in this region. Thus, the objective of the study was to
provide insight on the effects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I propose the study could be improved by investigating other reproductive parameters such as
ovulation rate, oocyte competency, size of follicles, and number of follicular waves. Additionally,
reproductive and stress hormone profiles including luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating
hormone (FSH), and cortisone should be measured to further explain the multiple stress phenomenon
and evaluate the adaptive capabilities of Malpura ewes. Furthermore, the researchers did not justify
the reason for choosing to subject Malpura ewes versus other breed types. Also, the study did not
mention how the walking stress was managed, where the water source for GII was placed, the size of
the area that ewes were allowed to walk and graze, nor described the daily activity or behavior of GII
ewes. Conclusions were drawn solely upon the climatological data and distance to measure the
thermal and walking stress. The study also mentioned using intravaginal sponges for synchronization
of estrus in the ewes, but did not justify using the chosen method. Moreover, they could have used a
larger sample size to increase precision of the data and used multiple groups to test the single effects
of each stress and compare those groups to the multiple stressed groups.

Unemployment And The Rate Of Inflation
Unemployment and the rate of Inflation are two main problems faced by most economies around the
world. Lower rates of each are sought after in order to create and maintain a more stable economy.
Unemployment rate can be officially defined as a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it
is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals
currently in the labour force. The inflation rate is the percentage rate of change of a price index over
time. The Retail Prices Index is also a measure of inflation that is commonly used in the United
Kingdom. It is broader than the CPI and contains a larger basket of goods and services.
By obtaining data for two countries, UK and France, on unemployment rate and CPI, which allowed
me to calculate inflation rate and then further the change in inflation rate, I have been able to construct
the table above. This table clearly shows the comparison between the two countries between the time
period of 1970 2013. From this table I am able to create graphs to represent the data in an aesthetically
pleasing format a picture says a thousand words. Firstly I will begin by discussing the unemployment
rate graph.
This line graph represents the comparison of the changes of unemployment rate data from 1970 2013
for the countries France and United Kingdom. At 1970 France s unemployment rate remains
consistent for 4 years while the UK s rises slightly however generally during the 1970s the

El Salvador And The Civil War
El Salvador is a small, Central American, Hispanic speaking country, which borders with Honduras,
Guatemala and the Pacific Ocean and has currently a population of 6.4 million. In the late 1880s
coffee was the major export product and it became 95% of the country s income. This wealth although
was unequally distributed and as a result it was concentrated only on the 2% of the population. As a
result poverty grew and the conflict between the poor and the rich became a big problem El Salvador
had to deal with during the 20th century. A Central American Socialist Party was born and lead people
against the government and in response the government of El Salvador at the time supported military
death teams who killed anyone who supported that party.
In 1980 El Salvador s civil war officially began. Thousands of people were kidnapped and killed.
Church workers were abducted, raped and killed, yet again the peace talks did not begin until 1984
and the Peace Accords of El Salvador was not signed until 1992. Between those twelve years 75,000
people died as a result of the civil war and most of these people were completely innocent.
Since 1992 the El Salvadorian economy has been trying to recover from a bitter war that left many
wounds open. Between 1991 and 2002 poverty levels in the country declined significantly and many
social advances were seen as school enrolment and access to health and water services increased.
Therefore someone can assume that since the traumatic civil

Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream
William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild and confusing ride
through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to
be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the
play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to
explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the
Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream
interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the
unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). Shakespeare is actually the inventor of what we refer to
as Freudian psychology, and we see this at work in A Midsummer Night s Dream, as well as his other
plays. Sigmund Freud was a neurologist who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanity has searched for their significance and meanings, from the Old Testament dreams of
Pharaoh and of Jacob s dream of the ladder, to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks as being messages
from the gods. These vivid images that arise in the unconscious mind contain elements of our personal
identity, segments of our daily lives, as well as the bizarre. About three hundred years prior to Freud s
work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream,
seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like
one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also
lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. At times, just like dreams in real life, the
audience is dropped into the middle of the action without any direction as to what is happening, or the
events that led to where they

Film Research Analysis of Joyeux Noel
Film Research Analysis The film Joyeux Noel is the true story of the Christmas truce of December
1914 in the trenches of World War 1. Throughout the film, we follow the German, French, and
Scottish soldiers as they learn to set aside their differences, put themselves in each others shoes, and
manage to have a cease fire on Christmas. The soldiers learn to understand each other and are able to
pull some humanity out of the horrors of the war. There are many external conflicts throughout the
story. Each of the main characters have their own conflicts that help to shape the story. The first one
would be the draft. Two of the characters affected by the draft were Anna Sorensen who was living a
carefree life singing opera with her boyfriend Nikolaus Sprink when it was announced that Germany
had declared war and Nikolaus was being drafted. Young brothers Jonathan and William are told that
they have both been drafted into the war as well. Although the two boys are excited about it at first,
they soon get a rude awakening when William is shot and killed in the line of fire. The priest Palmer is
chastised by his sanctimonious bishop for his desires to stay in the war environment with the soldiers
instead of going back home to be with his church. There are also a lot of internal conflicts that shape
the story. Jonathan refuses to take part in the truce or the cease fire due to the bitter feelings that he
had towards the other side due to the death of his brother. He

Cambodia And Indonesia Post Colonialism
Bunch, Justin
Prof. Biggs
Spring 15
Cambodia and Indonesia post colonialism The culmination of World War II saw many changes for
nation building not only in the spheres of Europe and East Asia, but also in regions of the world
infected by imperialism such as Southeast Asia. During this time many imperialist powers lost their
footholds in Southeast Asia due to an inability to project their dominance as they had before, such as
in the case of the Dutch in Indonesia and the French throughout Indochina. Nationalist movements
would unfold in one manner or another during this time and by the mid 1950 s most former European
colonies throughout the region had won their independence. Two such former colonies that I will be

After World War II when the French and Dutch returned to reclaim their lost territories, they found
things not as they left them.
In Cambodia up until 45 the French were trying to hold onto their Indochina territory by installing a
French educated prince named Sihanouk, figuring he would be more sympathetic to French dominion
of the area. However the Japanese were the ones in control of Cambodia and much of Southeast Asia
during WWII and they removed the French and declared Cambodia free.
When the war ended the French wanted to reclaim their territory, and allowed Cambodia to make a
constitutional monarchy but decided to manipulate the constitution in their favor by backing one of the
political parties that did not push for independence. France retained power in this way until in 1953
when Sihanouk told the French he would arm the population against them if they did not grant
independence. What also happed during this time was the populace was already arming themselves via
becoming Communist courtesy of their neighbors the Vietnamese. (Emergence 366) Sihanouk after
getting rid of the French in order to consolidate power installed his father as monarch, which had no
real power behind it, and became the Prime Minister to wield absolute power. Sihanouk then
maneuvered himself to the head of the most powerful political party of Cambodia and solidified his
reign as the true head of state until the upheaval of 1970.

The Most Deadly Drugs are Already Legal Essay examples
This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Fried egg is probably the most influential commercial
of our generation. We feared it, we laughed at it, some of us stopped eating eggs, and we made a lot of
t shirts about it. And who was scaring us? Who was so concerned about our health? Our loving
friends: The Partnership for a Drug Free America (PDFA). We used to watch those commercials and
get all warm and fuzzy inside, someone out there cared enough about us to spend a lot of money on
those frightening ads. Those good people down at the PDFA really don t want us using drugs. Or do
they?
The truth is, the Partnership for a Drug Free America demonizes illegal drugs to protect the legal and
profitable ones that kill more people. And ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, a pragmatic PDFA ignores the very drugs which are taking the most American lives and
focuses on relatively harmless drugs, like marijuana. I m not advocating pot smoking. I ve never
smoked pot before. But lets look at the medical facts. According to the Center for Disease Control,
tobacco is now the leading cause of death in America, killing a thousand Americans a day. Alcohol
takes 130,000 lives annually, not including traffic fatalities. Marijuana has never killed anyone. Over
500,000 people die annually from tobacco and alcohol, more than 35 times the number of deaths from
all illegal drugs combined. The Media Awareness Project reports that Tylenol, aspirin, Advil, Motrin
and similar medications have accounted for four times more emergency hospital visits than all street
drugs combined. According to the American Association of Poison Control Centers, Tylenol alone
kills more people than cocaine does.
It therefore comes as no surprise that James Burke, CEO of Johnson Johnson creator of Tylenol
founded the PDFA in 1989. Ostensibly, he was trying to save lives, and in fact the PDFA may have
had something to do with the temporary drop in teenage drug abuse during the early 90s. But in the

Reaction Temperature And The Rate Of Reaction
Discussion The experiment investigated the relationship between temperature and the rate of reaction
for the reaction of iron (III) nitrate with sodium thiosulfate. The results show that the rate of iron (III)
reacting forming iron (II) increases as the temperature of the solutions increases. Table 1 shows that
when the temperature of the reactants is 4℃, it takes 54.173 seconds for the reaction to occur to the
stage that the cross to appears. The time taken for the solution to reach the same transparency reduces
to 16.37 seconds when the temperature is 25℃ and to 2.09 seconds when the temperature is 65℃. The
line of best fit in Graph 1 suggests that there is an inverse relationship between temperature and
reaction time. This indicates that as the temperature increases, the rate of reaction also increases. The
results for the rate of reaction, as seen in Table 2, suggest that as the temperature increases, the rate of
reaction increases at a progressively greater rate. When the temperature increases 21℃ from 4℃ to
25℃, the rate of reaction increases from 1.846 s 1 to 6.1100 s 1 while a similar increase in
temperature from 25℃ to 65℃ has a much more significant difference in the rate of reaction: 47.85s 1
at 65℃. This supports the hypothesis, as the rate of reaction increases as the temperature increases.
According to collision theory, increasing the temperature increases the kinetic energy of the particles
in the solution. This allows both a net increase in the energy

Matheny s Views on Ulitarianism and Factory or Farm Animals
In this paper I will explain in detail the premises of Matheny s view and his argument of refraining
from eating the product from factory farms, and then offer an objection to it. Matheny states in
Utilitarianism and Animals that we should refrain from eating the products from factory farms. The
first premise of Matheny s argument is the principle of equal consideration of interests. To be fair, just,
and benevolent, any ethical rule we adopt should respect this principle. The second premise of
Matheny s argument is that eating factory farmed products is considered to be ethically wrong. The
conclusion of Matheny s argument is we should not eat factory farmed products. To summarize
Matheny s Utilitarianism and Animals with a quote, We can change the way we live, and eat. Below
are the following premises: 1. You should act in such a way as to maximize the expected satisfaction
of interests in the world, equally considered. 2. Eating factory farmed products does not maximize the
expected satisfaction of interest in the world, equally considered. 3. Therefore, we should not eat
factory farmed products. Utilitarianism is an ethical theory with the rule, act in such a way as to
maximize the expected satisfaction of interests in the world, equally considered. We try to act in such
a way that considers everyone s pains and pleasures. With this in mind, we have to discover what truly
makes others happy. We should not ignore those that are affected by our behavior.

Restoring The Physical Integrity Of The Tidal Wetland...
Across all projects, the first step in tidal wetland restoration is almost always to create a restoration
site template that will form the basis of the entire project. Experts believe that restoring the physical
integrity of the tidal wetland offers the best opportunity of restoring ecologic integrity (Faber Design
17). How the template is formed will ultimately dictate what the final wetland will look like.
Construction of the wetland base may require either excavation or fill depending on the site
conditions. Some sites, like the Ballona Wetlands, have been filled with a massive layer of dirt, and in
these cases, the site will need to be excavated back down to the bottom of the root zone so that natural
sedimentation processes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the consideration of which method is appropriate, one must also evaluate the site s natural
sedimentation load and its effect on the site s own capacity for self restoration. For example, at the
Sears Point Wetlands, no additional fill was placed on the project site even though the land had
significantly subsided because of the high local suspended sediment concentrations in the San Pablo
Bay promoting rapid natural sedimentation (Wetlands and Water 65). Another element to the template
design of a restoration site is the decision to excavate tidal channels and a drainage system.
Oftentimes, project managers can choose to rejuvenate pre existing tidal drainage system by
redirecting tidal flows into the area. If the natural drainage system has become too shallow over time,
one may choose to excavate channels that follow the original drainage network of the wetland. This
decision can contribute significantly to the success of the wetland because the natural processes will
be restored much more quickly than if the wetland was allowed to re develop those channels on its
own (Faber Design 47). Because the drainage systems function as valuable wildlife habitat, the Sears
Point project took special care to establish the antecedent channel configuration by

Romanticism In Romantic Poetry
Romantic Poetry Paper
As many of us know, the Romanticism period happen during the 1800 s hundreds and finished in the
mid 1850 s. This movement is an artistic enlightenment that happen throughout Europe. The people
who took an active big role during this movement is John Keats, Percy Shelley, William Wordsworth
and many more. Numerous of their poteries talks about nature, beauty, love, death etc. However, the
major poems that really stood out to me from these three substantial poets is; She Dwelt Among the
Untrodden Ways by William Wordsworth that signifies the beauties of imagination and death. Then,
ON THE GRASSHOPPER AND CRICKET by John Keats who elaborates the happiness of nature.
Finally, Mutability by Percy Shelley that symbolises the bodies and spirits. Therefore, these poems are
very meaningful and may apply to your everyday life.
To begin with, She Dwelt Among the Untrodden Ways is about a young lady being admired
comparing her beauty to nature. William Wordsworth says She dwelt among the untrodden ways
Beside the springs of Dove, . Wordsworth is trying to describe how gentle and innocent she is like
nature is. Also Wordsworth adds A violet by a mossy stone Half hidden from the eye! this quote I
believe show people tend to not notice her that much but in his eyes she is still very beautiful. Later on
in his poetry the young lady is identified as Lucy who may possibly be apart of his imagination that
soon dies in the end. Wordsworth states She

Acadian Women Summary
Just from looking at the title of the article Acadian Women and French Colonial society in eighteenth
century Louisbourg, we can easily see the topic that Anne Marie Lane Jonah and Elizabeth Tait would
be focussing their discussion on. The overall summary of the article is the discussion of Acadian
Women and their families having to uproot everything they own and moving to a new French colony
in Isle Royale after the defeat of Port Royal .These families would move from Mainland Nova Scotia
to the City of Louisbourg, Cape Breton Island. Once in their new home, the Acadians realize that they
are in a new society that is unknown to them. The article continues with a breakdown of the process
these Acadian women are going to go through to become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The authors begin by examining colonial records which are a type of primary source that is very
credible, in the sense, it is likely a government recorded document at that time which would have
information regarding the transition from mainland Nova Scotia to what is now Louisbourg . This
source, in general, is a good one but doesn t completely back up the thesis of this article. The second
primary source that is used by Jonah and Tait is an archaeological investigation of Acadian
agricultural households. This is an incredible source that they picked because this source allows us to
understand what the structure of these people s homes would be like in the 18th century. I m not sure
exactly where the writers get this information for this next source, but I do believe it is a secondary
source worth mentioning. Two historians named Maurice Basque and Josette Brun has gathered
examples of Acadian women who have stepped out in wanting to participate in the public realm .This
would be very credible source because historians do a lot of research into their topics and often get
their work published in books. The last primary source which I find very interesting and the most
credible out of this article would be the estate inventory of Jeanne Thibodeau article concludes with.
This source not only is a very rare document but is very interesting in the fact it allows the reader to
get a sense of what people in this decade would of own for clothes as well as any other personal items.
All of these sources are very good and appropriate in the context of this article and its

Dear Friend Hamlet Essay
O, my dear friend Hamlet, I have been witness to your misery, triumph, and madness. I m unable to
tell if it was all an antic disposition? Or if were you really as insane as the sea and the wind, both
contending to be mightier in the storm? (4.1.7 8). I ve come to the realisation that not everything that
meets the eye is as it appears. A series of lies and manipulation have unravelled before my very eyes,
ending in blood shed. Blood that is on my hands as much as it is on Hamlet s.
As his closest confidant, our bond was knitted together tightly, depending solely upon trust and
loyalty. I bore witness to Hamlet s interactions, thoughts, and moods, catching a glimpse of his real

He once described his affection for her, stating that if you were to add up the love of forty thousand
brothers, their quantity of love would not make up the sum of mine, and although he had doubts, he
never doubted the love he had for Ophelia (5.2.255 257 and 2.2.115 118). That s why when his
mentality and actions started juxtaposing his feelings I became concerned; I was no longer sure if
putting on an antic disposition was wise. He was becoming so engulfed in the charade he was
portraying; that it was becoming a part of his identity. It was transforming him into a deranged,
ragged, wild beast, unable to control the demon within. The first time he acted out of character
towards Ophelia, she was petrified, unaware of the insanity escaping from within him. I remember
hearing her say that he looked so out of sorts as if he d just come back from hell (2.1.83 84). Should I
have warned her? Would it have saved her from her own mind and thoughts? Instead, I bit my tongue
and remained oblivious to the world. I valued the pacts of my friendship with Hamlet much higher
than life itself, and now? I must live with the burden of Ophelia s death on my shoulders.
I realised that Hamlet s façade of madness was no longer an admirable method for revenge as his
insanity was rooting deep into his soul, turning dark and menacing. He continued to confide in

What Are The Similarities Between Shakespeare And Barabas
Shakespeare and Marlowe were both influenced by the anti Semitic ideas of the society they lived in.
Hence, Shylock from the Merchant of Venice and Barabas from the Jew of Malta is portrayed as a
typical Jew, which was stereotyped in the Elizabethan times. In both plays, a victimized Jew tries to
seek revenge against a Christian, but then eventually fails on the threshold of triumph.
Shylock and Barabas are both rich Jewish men, who are representatives of the same faith. From the
start of each play, both protagonists are portrayed as men to be despised.
Churches forbade Christians from engaging in money lending because they believed that it
endangered the Christian s soul. However, since the Christians regarded the souls of Jews lost, Jews ...

My gold, my fortune, my felicity. Strength to my soul, death to mine enemy, welcome the first

would pick his money over his daughter.
Similarly, in the Merchant Of Venice, Shylock is portrayed to be confused about which of the two; his
daughter or his money, is more important to him. When Jessica, his daughter, runs away, steals all of
his money and elopes with Lorenzo, a Christian, Shylock mostly worries about regaining his wealth
and not his daughter. My daughter, O my ducats, O my daughter! Fled with a Christian! O my
Christian ducats! Justice, the law, my ducats!
Money is one of the greatest indicators of how Shylock and Barabbas have confused their priorities,
focusing on unimportant things. The audience doesn t know whether money or love (their own
daughters) play a more significant role in their lives. Thus, the two characters are similar because they
are both driven by money and thus, portraying them to be heartless. The audience also believes that
the fact that they are both Jewish may have something to do with their evil

symbology. He is the type of person that is bright and smart, but lacks the strength and aggressiveness.
Robert loves symbology and is fascinated about the amount of symbols in the world that people see as
just something in their daily life. He always loves to learn more about science, religion, symbols, or
anything that interests him. In the story, his strengths are that he is a symbology teacher and that he
has the intelligent mind to find certain symbols rapidly to move further and further in the Path of
Illumination. Another one of his strengths is that he thinks quickly in situations where the necessity to
act fast is needed. Like any other story or novel, the intelligent person is always considered weak,
scrawny and lacks the ability to fight well or use weapon effectively. Robert is similar to that
stereotype except for the fact that he is well built from swimming laps every day.

Heteronormativity Research Paper
Heteronormativity is known as the belief that heterosexuality is the only normal and natural
expression of sexuality (Merriam Webster). While homosexuality is becoming more accepted in today
s society, heteronormativity is still a prominent issue in the media and life at home. There are various
opinions on heteronormativity, some believing that it is not an issue and others believing it is
alienating gay individuals. Although it does not affect the majority of households and individuals in
the U.S, a solution to heteronormativity would benefit LGBTQ individuals who feel isolated from the
rest of society. The concept of heteronormativity is one that few people actually take the time to think

The Maratha warrior Shivaji was an able administrator who established a government that included

bribery and corruption, tax evasion and embezzling funds and other types of fraud. These crimes go
unreported because these people are not under scrutiny or are not being observed because they have
the authority no one is above them. In addition, these crimes are dealt with in a different way. Rather
than being handed to the policing authorities to be prosecuted in court, they are sacked, and their

They would find gas station with a cheaper price. If the station lowered the amount of gasoline by
10% or 15%, there would be a line wrapped around the corner of that gas station. People would go out
of their way to buy cheap gas.
Total receipts and total revenue are determined by multiplying the price of the gas by the quantity
sold. If the demand for a product is elastic, the amount consumer s buy will go up and the price will be
lowered, but if inelastic, a lower price would mean a small increase in the quantity demanded. It
would not be enough if sales increased.
Substitutes and Compliments
Gas cannot be substituted. For food, which is a good, can be substituted. If the price of fish and butter
go up, buyers can switch to chicken and margarine. Small changes in the price of a product will cause
people to switch from one product to the other. When quantity like this sells in a particular store or
small store, the quantity changes drastically by the impact of store receipts, which tends to make the
demand elastic. The more changes in substitutes the more elastic it becomes, the less substitutes for
that particular product, the more inelastic the demand becomes.

King Hamlet Revenge Quotes
Firstly, Hamlet is a royal prince of the Danish court. Hamlet s father, King Hamlet was murdered by
Claudius. The ghost of King Hamlet says that when he was napping in his orchard, Claudius, his
brother, poured a leperous distillment, or a poison, into his ear. The poison curdled his blood and
caused his skin to develop horrible sores. When Hamlet learns from the ghost of his father s murder,
he weeps, and promises action, though he delivers none. Hamlet grieves deeply for his father, Hamlet
carefully plots his revenge and waits for the perfect moment to avenge King Hamlet. Claudius s
murder of king Hamlet initiates Hamlet s quest for revenge. Hamlet expresses his feelings while in
dialogue with the ghost: Haste, haste me to know it that with wings as swift/ As meditation, or the
thoughts of love, / May sweep to my revenge (Shakespeare 1.5.29 31).The significance of this quote
explains about Hamlet saying to the Ghost of his father that he wants to know about his murder so that
he may seek revenge faster than a person falls in love because it is the first time Hamlet talks the

The Challenge For E Learning Practitioners
While the phrase a picture is worth a thousand words is often used to emphasize the importance of
visuals, recent research from neuroscience reveals the science behind that saying. However, the
challenge for e learning practitioners arises when they attempt to integrate learning theory into the
design and creation of visuals and video. Although elearning practitioners and instructional designers
are educated in learning theory, what is often overlooked is the design of effective visuals and/or video
that has a basis learning theory.
To that end, there is a difference between the way the brain remembers words and remembers visuals.
The brain has an extraordinary capacity to remember visual information. Memory experiments with
visuals have shown that people can recall seeing hundreds, even thousands, of pictures. Pictures seem
to operate as chunks and while the brain can hold only a few chunks in working memory at a time,
visual images allow the brain to hold and enlarge the scope of those chunks. This is because visual
processes evolved over millions of years, so the brain machinery is highly efficient in storing and
recalling visual information.
Humans are predominantly processors of visual information, where neuroscience has revealed 90% of
what the brain processes is visual information. In Jensen s 2008 book on Brain Based Learning, he
states that 80 90% of information absorbed by the brain is visual in nature. What s more, the brain
processes visual information

Lamb To The Slaughter Theme Essay
Theme of Lamb to the Slaughter The more trust that you put in another person, the greater the effect
their betrayal has on you then, the greater the pain you feel. Nobody is going to be happy for example,
tricking a wife or a husband, a friend and relatives. At least try not to break a trust. Breaking a trust
and betray somebody is bad, and could lead you into trouble or a fight. In the story Lamb to the

Indian Removal Act Research Paper
The Indian Removal act is an act that allows the president of the United States to remove Indians from
their land because the United States think that it is their land . It consists of appraisals and money
being paid forward for the land, like what is now known as eminent domain. However, not everyone
seemed to be happy with this act, as some tribes, particularly the Cherokee tribe, resisted this act. In
the Indian Removal Packet , the Cherokee Indians wrote an essay explaining why they should not be
required to move, in regards to the laws that they were following and also because they would be
going into unknown territory. They believed that they have the right to remain in the land that they
were in at the time and that taking their land away from them is considered robbery of their land. The
Cherokee Tribe ends with quoting the golden rule, most likely as in asking how the United States

Purim is celebrated on the 14th day of Adar which was the day the Jewish people celebrated their
survival of Haman s extermination. For the cities that were walled in the time of Joshua it is celebrated
on the 15th, because in the book of Esther a wall city (Shushan) the message of the deliverance of the

Esther s three days of fasting in preparation to be summoned by the king and tell him Haman s plan.
The commandment of the holiday is to hear the reading of the Book of Esther. Pesach also known as
Passover in English is a common Jewish holiday the permits the eating of Chametz that has not

The actuality of a divine being the cause of our existence is a topic that has been debated by
philosophers for centuries. To this day there is no clear answer as both sides of the argument give
reasons to refute the opposing side s arguments. Ernest Nagel is a well known philosopher as he is
recognized for his works against theism and for supporting atheism in his literary works. In Nagel s A
Defense Of Atheism he criticizes the theistic arguments that claim a god is overseeing our world. The
ontological, cosmological and teleological arguments are known as the classical arguments for theism.
Nagel swiftly pokes many holes in these arguments and runs them to the ground. Besides attacking the
flaws in these arguments, Nagel also brings up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Out of the three arguments, these two are the weakest for simple logic can quickly subside them.
Nagel supplies this logic for diminishing these arguments in his analysis of both arguments. He first
attacks the cosmological argument which claims that only God could be the cause of the existence of
earth and that God is self caused. However, Nagel claims that earth could have easily existed forever
and that if God is self caused than the earth itself just as easily can be self caused also as he states but
if God can be self caused, why cannot the world itself be self caused? (A Defense of Atheism 87).
Secondly, Nagel belittles the ontological argument which claims that God must exist because he is
perfect and that anything perfect must exist by definition. Which sounds vague and Nagel points this
out by claiming that the existence of an object makes no difference by how we formulate them. The
well known philosopher Immanuel Kant also had a great appeal by claiming that ...it is just a
confusion to say that existence is an attribute, and that though the word existence may occur as the
grammatical predicate in a sentence, no attribute is being predicated of a thing when we say that the
thing exists or has existence. (A Defense of Atheism 88) Excluding Nagel and Kant s logical
explanations against these arguments, I also have my doubts as these two arguments seem to take an
ignorant stance. It seems as if the creators of these arguments are stubborn children who believe God
has to exist because there is no other possible explanation. However Modern day technology and
science also decimates these two arguments as there is new scientific evidence that the earth has been
in existence millions of years before the bible. However, the third argument known as the teleological
argument makes much more logical sense and relies on empirical evidence which gives it

The Pathophysiology Of Muscles
The word muscle has its origins in the Latin word musculus which means little mouse . The
terminology became popular as the movement of certain muscles, most notably biceps, was thought to
be reminiscent of a mouse moving beneath a rug. Another explanation is that at the anatomical level,
some muscles look like mice. This holds true especially for muscles with long, thin tendons that
resemble a mouse s tail.
Muscles are specialized contractile tissues responsible for motility, a feature that is a distinguishing
characteristic between the plant and animal kingdoms; and are responsible for most physiological
processes in higher animals like blood circulation, contractions of the heart, involuntary peristaltic
movements of the gut, respiration, voluntary body movements, maintenance of posture, gait and facial
expressions. How a single tissue performs such varied functions can be attributed to the distinct
mechanical, contractile, structural and electrophysiological properties that are acquired by each
muscle type during the course of development. The two broad classes of muscle fibres are striated
(cardiac and skeletal) and non striated (smooth) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each myofiber is in turn composed of hundreds of contractile organelles called myofibrils that run
through the length of the myofiber. These are rod like structures made up of protein, and are
comprised of parallel protein myofilaments (Fig. 1.1). There are two types of myofilaments thin and
thick whose major components are the proteins actin and myosin, respectively. For each thick
myofilament, there are 6 thin myofilaments surrounding? Hexagonal lattice? Striated muscles are

Sharecropping In 1860
In 1860 there were only 15 slave quarters compared to the 26 homes of former slaves in 1881. I
noticed that the slave quarters in 1860 are different sizes. Five are very small and the other ten look
the same size. In 1881, all former slave homes look the same size except for Gus Barrow s home
which looks slightly smaller. The Master s house, service and farm buildings, and gin house is all
located along the road in 1860. In 1881, the school house, church, five of the former slave homes, and
the Master s home is all located along the road. I believe that the former slave master was not pleased
about the new system of sharecropping since it allowed the ex slaves to settle farther from the main
house (his house). In 1860, the slave master used

T-Shirt In The Global Economy
In her book The Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy, Pietra Rivoli explores the journey that a
T shirt makes while being produced and the effects it has on the global economy. She begins by
explaining that the US continues to dominate in the cotton industry, even after 200 years. She
introduces the reader to Lubbock, Texas the cottenest city in the US (5). The author explains that US
domination in the cotton industry is due to a variety of reasons which she spends the rest of the
chapter exploring and explaining. The first reason, she explains, is due to the subsidies that farmers in
the US receive. She then goes on to explain that the American farmers have the ability to creatively
adapt to changing technology, methods, marketing and global demands. ... Show more content on

  • 9. Buddhist Buddhism And Food Of Buddhism Buddhist Vegetarianism and Foods In China, Buddhism is an ancient religion with numerous followers. Vegetarians are generally regarded as Buddhists because people know that Buddhism is a religion that prohibits eating meat. Buddhism originated in ancient India, which found by a prince of realm called Gautama Buddha in three thousand years ago. (Henry, 2012) It spread to China in the Western Han Dynasty. It not only brought a new religion for China, but also had a profound impact on the vegetarian culture at that time. We will describe the relationship between the Buddhism and its vegetarian culture through food varieties of vegetarian diet, dishes, and the benefits to the human body. Food varieties of Buddhist Vegetarianism Buddhists mainly eat grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. A lot of people have stereotype of Buddhist, which monks do not eat meat because it is considered breaking no killing rule. However, that is not entirely true. Buddhism does not forbid its followers to eat meat at the beginning. Moreover, there are many different stringent requirements for whether or what kind of meat Buddhists can eat depend on different sects of Buddhism. • 10. Malpura Ewes Experiment summary The purpose of the study was to observe the effects of multiple stresses on reproduction of Malpura ewes. The study aimed to provide evidence on multiple stressors that impact livestock productivity in this region. Stresses investigated in this study included thermal, nutritional and walking stress, which livestock are subjected to as a result of extremely variable temperatures, low forage availability, and inadequate water supply. Researchers hypothesized that heat stress, in combination with nutritional and walking stress negatively affects the reproductive abilities in Malpura ewes, a phenomenon largely attributed to the changing climate in this region. Thus, the objective of the study was to provide insight on the effects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I propose the study could be improved by investigating other reproductive parameters such as ovulation rate, oocyte competency, size of follicles, and number of follicular waves. Additionally, reproductive and stress hormone profiles including luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and cortisone should be measured to further explain the multiple stress phenomenon and evaluate the adaptive capabilities of Malpura ewes. Furthermore, the researchers did not justify the reason for choosing to subject Malpura ewes versus other breed types. Also, the study did not mention how the walking stress was managed, where the water source for GII was placed, the size of the area that ewes were allowed to walk and graze, nor described the daily activity or behavior of GII ewes. Conclusions were drawn solely upon the climatological data and distance to measure the thermal and walking stress. The study also mentioned using intravaginal sponges for synchronization of estrus in the ewes, but did not justify using the chosen method. Moreover, they could have used a larger sample size to increase precision of the data and used multiple groups to test the single effects of each stress and compare those groups to the multiple stressed groups. ... • 11. Unemployment And The Rate Of Inflation Unemployment and the rate of Inflation are two main problems faced by most economies around the world. Lower rates of each are sought after in order to create and maintain a more stable economy. Unemployment rate can be officially defined as a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently in the labour force. The inflation rate is the percentage rate of change of a price index over time. The Retail Prices Index is also a measure of inflation that is commonly used in the United Kingdom. It is broader than the CPI and contains a larger basket of goods and services. By obtaining data for two countries, UK and France, on unemployment rate and CPI, which allowed me to calculate inflation rate and then further the change in inflation rate, I have been able to construct the table above. This table clearly shows the comparison between the two countries between the time period of 1970 2013. From this table I am able to create graphs to represent the data in an aesthetically pleasing format a picture says a thousand words. Firstly I will begin by discussing the unemployment rate graph. This line graph represents the comparison of the changes of unemployment rate data from 1970 2013 for the countries France and United Kingdom. At 1970 France s unemployment rate remains consistent for 4 years while the UK s rises slightly however generally during the 1970s the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the late 1880s coffee was the major export product and it became 95% of the country s income. This wealth although was unequally distributed and as a result it was concentrated only on the 2% of the population. As a result poverty grew and the conflict between the poor and the rich became a big problem El Salvador had to deal with during the 20th century. A Central American Socialist Party was born and lead people against the government and in response the government of El Salvador at the time supported military death teams who killed anyone who supported that party. In 1980 El Salvador s civil war officially began. Thousands of people were kidnapped and killed. Church workers were abducted, raped and killed, yet again the peace talks did not begin until 1984 and the Peace Accords of El Salvador was not signed until 1992. Between those twelve years 75,000 people died as a result of the civil war and most of these people were completely innocent. Since 1992 the El Salvadorian economy has been trying to recover from a bitter war that left many wounds open. Between 1991 and 2002 poverty levels in the country declined significantly and many social advances were seen as school enrolment and access to health and water services increased. • 13. Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild and confusing ride through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). Shakespeare is actually the inventor of what we refer to as Freudian psychology, and we see this at work in A Midsummer Night s Dream, as well as his other plays. About three hundred years prior to Freud s work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream, seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. The soldiers learn to understand each other and are able to pull some humanity out of the horrors of the war. There are many external conflicts throughout the story. Each of the main characters have their own conflicts that help to shape the story. The first one would be the draft. Two of the characters affected by the draft were Anna Sorensen who was living a carefree life singing opera with her boyfriend Nikolaus Sprink when it was announced that Germany had declared war and Nikolaus was being drafted. Young brothers Jonathan and William are told that they have both been drafted into the war as well. Although the two boys are excited about it at first, they soon get a rude awakening when William is shot and killed in the line of fire. The priest Palmer is chastised by his sanctimonious bishop for his desires to stay in the war environment with the soldiers instead of going back home to be with his church. During this time many imperialist powers lost their footholds in Southeast Asia due to an inability to project their dominance as they had before, such as in the case of the Dutch in Indonesia and the French throughout Indochina. After World War II when the French and Dutch returned to reclaim their lost territories, they found things not as they left them. In Cambodia up until 45 the French were trying to hold onto their Indochina territory by installing a French educated prince named Sihanouk, figuring he would be more sympathetic to French dominion of the area. However the Japanese were the ones in control of Cambodia and much of Southeast Asia during WWII and they removed the French and declared Cambodia free. When the war ended the French wanted to reclaim their territory, and allowed Cambodia to make a constitutional monarchy but decided to manipulate the constitution in their favor by backing one of the political parties that did not push for independence. France retained power in this way until in 1953 when Sihanouk told the French he would arm the population against them if they did not grant independence. What also happed during this time was the populace was already arming themselves via becoming Communist courtesy of their neighbors the Vietnamese. • 17. Reaction Temperature And The Rate Of Reaction Discussion The experiment investigated the relationship between temperature and the rate of reaction for the reaction of iron (III) nitrate with sodium thiosulfate. The results show that the rate of iron (III) reacting forming iron (II) increases as the temperature of the solutions increases. Table 1 shows that when the temperature of the reactants is 4℃, it takes 54.173 seconds for the reaction to occur to the stage that the cross to appears. The time taken for the solution to reach the same transparency reduces to 16.37 seconds when the temperature is 25℃ and to 2.09 seconds when the temperature is 65℃. The line of best fit in Graph 1 suggests that there is an inverse relationship between temperature and reaction time. This indicates that as the temperature increases, the rate of reaction also increases. The results for the rate of reaction, as seen in Table 2, suggest that as the temperature increases, the rate of reaction increases at a progressively greater rate. When the temperature increases 21℃ from 4℃ to 25℃, the rate of reaction increases from 1.846 s 1 to 6.1100 s 1 while a similar increase in temperature from 25℃ to 65℃ has a much more significant difference in the rate of reaction: 47.85s 1 at 65℃. This supports the hypothesis, as the rate of reaction increases as the temperature increases. According to collision theory, increasing the temperature increases the kinetic energy of the particles in the solution. This allows both a net increase in the energy ... Matheny states in Utilitarianism and Animals that we should refrain from eating the products from factory farms. The first premise of Matheny s argument is the principle of equal consideration of interests. To be fair, just, and benevolent, any ethical rule we adopt should respect this principle. The second premise of Matheny s argument is that eating factory farmed products is considered to be ethically wrong. The conclusion of Matheny s argument is we should not eat factory farmed products. To summarize Matheny s Utilitarianism and Animals with a quote, We can change the way we live, and eat. Below are the following premises: 1. You should act in such a way as to maximize the expected satisfaction of interests in the world, equally considered. 2. Eating factory farmed products does not maximize the expected satisfaction of interest in the world, equally considered. 3. Therefore, we should not eat factory farmed products. Across all projects, the first step in tidal wetland restoration is almost always to create a restoration site template that will form the basis of the entire project. Experts believe that restoring the physical integrity of the tidal wetland offers the best opportunity of restoring ecologic integrity (Faber Design 17). How the template is formed will ultimately dictate what the final wetland will look like. Construction of the wetland base may require either excavation or fill depending on the site conditions. Some sites, like the Ballona Wetlands, have been filled with a massive layer of dirt, and in these cases, the site will need to be excavated back down to the bottom of the root zone so that natural sedimentation processes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the consideration of which method is appropriate, one must also evaluate the site s natural sedimentation load and its effect on the site s own capacity for self restoration. For example, at the Sears Point Wetlands, no additional fill was placed on the project site even though the land had significantly subsided because of the high local suspended sediment concentrations in the San Pablo Bay promoting rapid natural sedimentation (Wetlands and Water 65). Another element to the template design of a restoration site is the decision to excavate tidal channels and a drainage system. Oftentimes, project managers can choose to rejuvenate pre existing tidal drainage system by redirecting tidal flows into the area. If the natural drainage system has become too shallow over time, one may choose to excavate channels that follow the original drainage network of the wetland. This decision can contribute significantly to the success of the wetland because the natural processes will be restored much more quickly than if the wetland was allowed to re develop those channels on its own (Faber Design 47). Because the drainage systems function as valuable wildlife habitat, the Sears Point project took special care to establish the antecedent channel configuration by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While homosexuality is becoming more accepted in today s society, heteronormativity is still a prominent issue in the media and life at home. There are various opinions on heteronormativity, some believing that it is not an issue and others believing it is alienating gay individuals. Although it does not affect the majority of households and individuals in the U.S, a solution to heteronormativity would benefit LGBTQ individuals who feel isolated from the rest of society. • 35. The Challenge For E Learning Practitioners While the phrase a picture is worth a thousand words is often used to emphasize the importance of visuals, recent research from neuroscience reveals the science behind that saying. However, the challenge for e learning practitioners arises when they attempt to integrate learning theory into the design and creation of visuals and video. Although elearning practitioners and instructional designers are educated in learning theory, what is often overlooked is the design of effective visuals and/or video that has a basis learning theory. To that end, there is a difference between the way the brain remembers words and remembers visuals. The brain has an extraordinary capacity to remember visual information. Memory experiments with visuals have shown that people can recall seeing hundreds, even thousands, of pictures. Pictures seem to operate as chunks and while the brain can hold only a few chunks in working memory at a time, visual images allow the brain to hold and enlarge the scope of those chunks. This is because visual processes evolved over millions of years, so the brain machinery is highly efficient in storing and recalling visual information. Humans are predominantly processors of visual information, where neuroscience has revealed 90% of what the brain processes is visual information. In Jensen s 2008 book on Brain Based Learning, he states that 80 90% of information absorbed by the brain is visual in nature. What s more, the brain processes visual information ... It consists of appraisals and money being paid forward for the land, like what is now known as eminent domain. However, Nagel claims that earth could have easily existed forever and that if God is self caused than the earth itself just as easily can be self caused also as he states but if God can be self caused, why cannot the world itself be self caused? (A Defense of Atheism 87). Secondly, Nagel belittles the ontological argument which claims that God must exist because he is perfect and that anything perfect must exist by definition. Which sounds vague and Nagel points this out by claiming that the existence of an object makes no difference by how we formulate them. The well known philosopher Immanuel Kant also had a great appeal by claiming that ...it is just a confusion to say that existence is an attribute, and that though the word existence may occur as the grammatical predicate in a sentence, no attribute is being predicated of a thing when we say that the thing exists or has existence. (A Defense of Atheism 88) Excluding Nagel and Kant s logical explanations against these arguments, I also have my doubts as these two arguments seem to take an ignorant stance. It seems as if the creators of these arguments are stubborn children who believe God has to exist because there is no other possible explanation. The terminology became popular as the movement of certain muscles, most notably biceps, was thought to be reminiscent of a mouse moving beneath a rug. Muscles are specialized contractile tissues responsible for motility, a feature that is a distinguishing characteristic between the plant and animal kingdoms; and are responsible for most physiological processes in higher animals like blood circulation, contractions of the heart, involuntary peristaltic movements of the gut, respiration, voluntary body movements, maintenance of posture, gait and facial expressions.
