Rural vs. Urban India Daniel B. & Tyler V. B3 clipart.usscouts.org/.../scenes/tug_of_war.gif
Introduction India’s economy is split between two main groups of people. The groups aren’t based on religion or race, but the living standards between the urban and rural areas. Ever since India’s independence from Britain in 1947, India’s growth was based to assist the urban areas more than the rural areas by introducing industrialization and urban infrastructure. This advancement left the rural areas in the dust and caused the imbalance between urban and rural societies. Today, both areas have grown closer together because of the new technology and “helpful” influence from the urban society.
images.publicradio.org/content/2006/06/26/200... The picture shows the tug-of-war between the rural tradition and urban influence. The picture captures the urban technology advancement that is trying to grow into the traditional ways of the rural areas. This is a positive because new technology is advancing into the rural society, but it is also a negative influence because the rural traditions are lost with new westernized equipments.
This picture shows the urban development that is now the basis for rural profits as well. After India’s independence and the industrialization of the market, rural areas began to acquire these new devices and started to use the technology to gain a profit, other than working in the fields as farmer. This new advancement has brought the rural and urban areas closer together as customers and partners in the market. farm1.static.flickr.com/80/242980470_2d774b71
In this photo, urban technology has been very beneficial for rural societies. Cell phones, laptops, and other communication devices have helped rural areas grow closer together to distance cities and towns with the new technology. All though the influence is breaking apart their normal traditions, the step into the future has helped rural areas bring in bigger profits through the market and farming
Conclusion The new technological advances brought by urban society to rural areas has been helpful and hurtful to their society. The new technology has made rural civilians lives easier with fast communication and market opportunities by selling the new devices being made. This has caused the relationship between urban and rural areas to become more closely related to each other. It is also hurting the rural society because much of their original culture is being replaced by the new 21 st century devices, making their daily lives easier, unlike their normal daily traditions. In the end, the relationship between rural and urban society will be beneficial for both sides in the long run.
