The document provides an agenda for an RPG Retrospective Workshop. It includes an introduction from the facilitator Juggernaut Liu and his credentials. The agenda covers checking in, explaining what a retrospective is, conducting retrospective practices through role playing games, different techniques for running a retrospective, and a retrospective of the workshop. It encourages participation through engaging activities like role playing different characters from movies and having groups practice running a retrospective.
Instructional designers are not typically trained in a game or simulation design and development. Designing and developing a simulation or game is not the same as designing and developing for an elearning course. Although some concepts are similar, there is one glaring difference – simulations are really 3 dimensional environments. It is this element that instructional designers do not have any experience. Creating a flash animation in an elearning course is not the same as creating a 3 dimensional world, where characters must interact, objects manipulated and how the player moves through and interacts with this environment. The result of not understanding 3D simulation design/development is cost overruns, staffing issues, and production delays that result in missing critical milestones.
Game Designers tend to freak out when instructional designers want to include terminal and enabling objectives. Both instructional and game designers use a process to develop media. Each process has merits and disadvantages. Instructional design/game design terminology is a major obstacle to successful game/simulation development. In some instances, the Instructional designer and the game designer are talking about similar concepts. There discussion needs to focus on to work together to produce a serious game/simulation that delivers training content as well as incorporate game design principles to make the serious game/simulation engaging.

It's about Agile Games and how they revolutionise the way we train Agile Teams.
Critical thinking relates to how we make decisions and use our judgement. As a leader it is also about how we take action. Critical thinking involves many components. In this training we will address a few of them.
Retrospectives are not just about making you feel bad for missing your commitments, pointing fingers at your colleagues, and hearing your talkative team members go on and on. They are supposed to help your team become great. This workshop is for anyone that participates in retrospectives, doesn’t always feel they are useful and wants to learn a better way to accomplish the intended goal.
Slides from Scrum Master as a Facilitator. During this workshop we learn and practice some basic meeting facilitation skills, focus on tips and tricks for Scrum ceremonies, and simulate a Scrum cycle using our learning

Project Retrospectives are an important part of any software development process. The Principles Behind the Agile Manifesto state that, "At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly." How can this be done? By taking the time to reflect and learn and proactively determine what should be done differently in the next iteration, release, or project. Linda's presentation will introduce techniques for project retrospectives, whether they are agile or not. The techniques help teams discover what they’re doing well so that successful practices can continue and identify what should be done differently to improve performance. Retrospectives are not finger pointing or blaming sessions, but rather a highly effective process in which teams reflect on the past to become more productive in the future. Linda will share her experiences with leading retrospectives of several kinds for dozens of projects—successful and unsuccessful, small and large, in academia and industry. Her lessons learned can be applied to any project to enable teams and organizations to become learning organizations.
Developing your Agile skills through social GamesAgile Montréal
The end state of a highly performing Scrum team is described in the Scrum Guide by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland as follow: ""when the values of commitment, courage, focus, openness and respect are embodied and lived by the Scrum Team, the Scrum pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaptation come to life and build trust for everyone"". Then the authors add: ""the Scrum Team members learn and explore those values as they work with the Scrum events, roles and artifacts."" We simply believe we can fast-track the development of these Agile core values through daily social games.
For the past three years, we have been experimenting with half a dozen of Scrum teams, offering opportunities to play a large variety of games (board games, card games, baby-foot, etc...) during the lunch hour and after hours. The results of this experimentation have quickly exceeded our expectations.

Even though we say we 'design' games the process is often similar to exploration of unknown seas. During a storm. In a ship that just started leaking - and is on fire. Without vision, you'd be blind - Mattia Traverso - Codemotion Amsterdam 2017Codemotion
In game design, we trust our senses. Is this mechanic fun? Is this Environment beautiful? Is this story emotional? Is the game GOOD? However, as time passes and our project evolves, so do we. We are not the same person we were a minute ago, a month ago, a year ago. How can we maintain a steady vision if we ourselves are a constantly changing, complex interlacing of feelings and ideas? A practical look at how to establish a strong identity for a project: the beacon which will lead future decisions in design, art and production.
This interactive workshop offers a set of tools to help make change happen based on the renowned book Switch, How to Change Things When Change is Hard, by Chip and Dan Heath. The concepts are simple enough to remember and flexible enough to use in many different situations. It provides a unique way of understanding change. By aligning the “Rider” and the “Elephant” which represent the rational and emotional systems in our brains we are better equipped to lead and control changes in our lives.
Session objectives:
• Learn the Switch methodology of how to do three things at once to create a Switch; direct the rider, motivate the elephant and shape the path
• Understand why change is hard
• Apply strategies for day-to-day change initiatives
Balancing is a problem seemingly no one exactly knows how to tackle. Should you calculate it all? Should you tinker with values until you're satisfied with every detail? Should you turn to focus tests? I aim to propose a different approach and treat balance as something inherently systemic. I'm going to talk about structuring systems and content around a balanced framework. I will elaborate on my experience with such an approach in Phantom Doctrine, focusing on solutions we utilized and effective techniques required to master the balancing of a lengthy campaign in a complex game.

In software engineering, the right architecture is essential for robust, scalable platforms. Wix has undergone a pivotal shift from event sourcing to a CRUD-based model for its microservices. This talk will chart the course of this pivotal journey.
Event sourcing, which records state changes as immutable events, provided robust auditing and "time travel" debugging for Wix Stores' microservices. Despite its benefits, the complexity it introduced in state management slowed development. Wix responded by adopting a simpler, unified CRUD model. This talk will explore the challenges of event sourcing and the advantages of Wix's new "CRUD on steroids" approach, which streamlines API integration and domain event management while preserving data integrity and system resilience.
Participants will gain valuable insights into Wix's strategies for ensuring atomicity in database updates and event production, as well as caching, materialization, and performance optimization techniques within a distributed system.
Join us to discover how Wix has mastered the art of balancing simplicity and extensibility, and learn how the re-adoption of the modest CRUD has turbocharged their development velocity, resilience, and scalability in a high-growth environment.

SOCRadar Research Team: Latest Activities of IntelBrokerSOCRadar
The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) has suffered an alleged data breach after a notorious threat actor claimed to have exfiltrated data from its systems. Infamous data leaker IntelBroker posted on the even more infamous BreachForums hacking forum, saying that Europol suffered a data breach this month.
The alleged breach affected Europol agencies CCSE, EC3, Europol Platform for Experts, Law Enforcement Forum, and SIRIUS. Infiltration of these entities can disrupt ongoing investigations and compromise sensitive intelligence shared among international law enforcement agencies.
However, this is neither the first nor the last activity of IntekBroker. We have compiled for you what happened in the last few days. To track such hacker activities on dark web sources like hacker forums, private Telegram channels, and other hidden platforms where cyber threats often originate, you can check SOCRadar’s Dark Web News.

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.
Exploring Innovations in Data Repository Solutions - Insights from the U.S. G...Globus
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has made substantial investments in meeting evolving scientific, technical, and policy driven demands on storing, managing, and delivering data. As these demands continue to grow in complexity and scale, the USGS must continue to explore innovative solutions to improve its management, curation, sharing, delivering, and preservation approaches for large-scale research data. Supporting these needs, the USGS has partnered with the University of Chicago-Globus to research and develop advanced repository components and workflows leveraging its current investment in Globus. The primary outcome of this partnership includes the development of a prototype enterprise repository, driven by USGS Data Release requirements, through exploration and implementation of the entire suite of the Globus platform offerings, including Globus Flow, Globus Auth, Globus Transfer, and Globus Search. This presentation will provide insights into this research partnership, introduce the unique requirements and challenges being addressed and provide relevant project progress.

Goal
Some critical problems?
Action Item
No time to solve all problems
