This document discusses five literary works - "Self Reliance," "On Walden Pond," "Civil Disobedience," "Masque of Red Death," and "Young Goodman Brown" - and instructs students to do a round robin exercise where they take turns reading and discussing underlined passages from the texts without interrupting each other.

2. Round Robin Take a minute and go back through the text. If you haven’t underlined passages go back through and do so. If you have already, then go back through and find something you underlined and ask yourself: Why did I underlines this? What is the importance of it? In groups number off who will speak first and then proceed as follows:

3. First person reads the passage Next person says what this passage means, or makes them think of. This continues until it reaches the first person again. The first person who read the passage has the FINAL WORD. NO CROSS TALK.
