4. Preparation
• Wash your hands.
• Pour in a container flour, salt, sodium bicarbonate, leavering and mix.
• Add vegetable shortening.
• Add two cups and a quater of boiling water.
• Kneed gently for 4 to 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic and no
longer sticky.
• With hands, shape each piece into a ball.

• Cover balls with waxed paper or plastic to prevent drying.
• Use pastry bag to make the churros.
• Place your churros on a floured board.
• In a saucepan heat enough oil to fill over 1,2 inches deep.
• Make sure the oil is hot by adding a pinch of dough.
• Using tongs put one at the time your churros in the frying oil.
• Fry until churros are brown.

• Drain well
• Sprinkle with sugar cinnamon
• Or drizzle with dulce de leche (my favourite).
• Serve hot and enjoy !
