Roman Art Essay
Crafting an essay on Roman art presents both an intriguing challenge and an opportunity for
intellectual exploration. The task involves delving into a rich tapestry of history, culture, and
artistic expression that spans centuries. However, navigating the vast array of artistic
movements, periods, and individual artists within the Roman context requires a meticulous
approach.
To begin, one must grapple with the sheer breadth of Roman art, ranging from the monumental
architecture of the Colosseum and the Pantheon to the intricate details of mosaics, frescoes, and
sculptures. Understanding the social, political, and religious contexts that shaped these artistic
endeavors adds another layer of complexity. A successful essay on Roman art demands a
thorough examination of the various influences – Greek, Etruscan, and indigenous Roman
elements – that converged to create a unique artistic identity.
Moreover, the challenge lies in weaving together a narrative that not only chronicles the evolution
of Roman art but also analyzes its significance. Addressing questions about the functions of art in
Roman society, the role of patronage, and the ways in which artistic styles evolved over time
requires a nuanced and comprehensive exploration.
The need for extensive research and the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources
adds to the difficulty. Scholars must consult archaeological findings, historical texts, and art
historical analyses to construct a well-rounded and insightful essay. Furthermore, critical
thinking is crucial to evaluate conflicting interpretations and form an independent perspective on
the subject matter.
The intricacies of discussing specific artistic movements, such as the Hellenistic influence on
Roman sculpture or the shift from Republican to Imperial art, demand a keen eye for detail.
Analyzing individual masterpieces, understanding their symbolism, and placing them within the
broader cultural and political context requires both time and expertise.
In conclusion, crafting a compelling essay on Roman art entails navigating a labyrinth of
historical and artistic intricacies. It requires a dedication to meticulous research, critical thinking,
and the ability to synthesize information cohesively. Despite the challenges, the process of
exploring the depth and diversity of Roman art offers a rewarding intellectual journey for those
willing to embark on it.
And for those seeking assistance in unraveling the complexities of such topics, professional help
is available. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where expert
writers can provide guidance and support in navigating the intricacies of art history and related
subjects.

One key item that I want to mention again is figuring out which users are involved
in the upgrade. Be sure to get them involved early and often as you continue the

people call it figuring out how big the bread box is while others assume they know
it. In my opinion scoping and managing a project does not need to be a rigid
process, but it is important. At this phase in the project try to understand the
following: Why does the business or department want to upgrade to SQL Server

What users leverage the applications? What are the user operating hours? Who are

Evaluation Of A Microcontroller Based Three Phase...
Career Episode 1
Introduction
This career episode is the creation of my thesis during my final year in engineering.
The project is called Microcontroller Based Three Phase Induction Motor Controls .
This is a partial fulfillment for my bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering at
Mindanao University of Science and Technology. This project commenced on June
2011 and ended on March 2012. I was under the supervision of Engr. Reuel C.
Pallugna, one of the instructors in the Electrical Engineering department.
Background
CE 1.1 My main objective was to create a speed and forward reverse control for an
induction motor that can be programmed and can be accessed using the computer
in the cheapest but efficient way. My project is composed of electrical and
electronic components. The brain of the prototype comes from the program of a
microcontroller. Most of the assembly of the electrical and electronic components
and the creation of the program are done in the electrical laboratory. Economy is
an important factor in my study. One of its advantages over the commercially
available variable frequency drive (VFD) is it is more economical and can be
programmed based on the user s preference without sacrificing accuracy and
efficiency. CE 1.2 It took me 9 months to complete my prototype. Every month, my
thesis adviser checked and tracked the progress of my project. I did the research and
the creation of my prototype during weekdays and I did the technical writing of my

Metacognition Essay I feel I have come a long way my tenth grade year. My writing
has gotten so much better and I can write essays of much better quality now. Things
have gotten better like punctuation, thesis, and analysis. To begin with, my
punctuation has gotten a lot better. I made a lot of errors during the beginning of the
year and I am starting to make a lot less. Also, my thesis statements have gotten
tremendously better. At the beginning of the year they were really boring. As the
year began to progress, the statements got more interesting and creative. My analysis
throughout essays have gotten better. I am much better now at determining things
like theme, tone, and finding many literary devices. I can also set up my essays...

Another one of my major flaws is having the incorrect point of view. I need to
make sure I go over an essay a couple times because I normally add incorrect point
of view the first time. During the second semester, I had a favorite and least
favorite project. My favorite was the song presentation. It was something I really
enjoyed because I love music and being able to do a project on something I love is
so much fun. I enjoyed it because I got to find literary devices, establish tone and
theme, and find parts in the song to back up my claims. I really enjoy finding
literary devices, whether it s in a song or poetry, and it is one of my favorite things
to do in English. I also liked finding the tone and theme. The theme is always fun to
find because there are normally so many possibilities and you get to try to find one
that fits the best. The project that I liked the least was the persuasive outline. I didn
t have a problem with it as I was doing the project, and I actually found it rather
interesting, but I had to present it in front of the class. Presenting things in front of
the class is my least favorite thing to do. I enjoy most of the projects up until the
point where I step in front of the class. I think I have earned and A or a B this
semester. I know most of the material and I that feel I can use it appropriately. After
all of the essays and projects this year I feel that I have gained so much knowledge

Diversity In The New Testament
While there is much diversity in the New Testament a repetitive theme that continues
throughout it and that is the Christology of Christ. From the four Gospels through
Revelations we are reminded that it Jesus Christ is the one that was prophesied to

the Messiah. Within each book of the New Testament, from the historical books and
especially in the Pauline Epistles, the importance of faith, obedience and knowledge
of who JesusChrist is, His purpose and the legacy of salvation that His death and
resurrection is consistently repeated.
The Apostle Paul was one of Jesus most staunch advocates who traveled far and wide

The Problem Of Social Media
In the wake of the recent attacks in Paris and increasing manmade and natural
disasters around the world, the ability to communicate with citizens during times
of crisis is more important than ever. It is no longer appropriate to limit the output
of emergency information to the traditional delivery methods. Social media use
continues to grow at a staggering pace. As of January 2014, 74% of online adults
use social networking sites (Pew Research Center, n.d.). The large percentage
adults who utilize social networks daily makes their use by government agencies
essential. It is no longer acceptable for Dane County Emergency Management not

we are being unheard by a large portion of our county s population. This is
particularly true with young adults who reside in our county, as their primary
source of information is through social media. By continuing our trend of no
social media use, our county is putting lives at risk in times of emergencies, when
rapid, accurate information dispersal is of the utmost importance. The strengths of
social media use are well documented. No longer can officials within the county
label its rise in usage as a trend. One of the most powerful attributes of social media
is its ability to be accessed with a mobile device. In regards to emergency
management, this is very beneficial, as most citizens will likely not be monitoring a
T.V. or radio station when a
Confronting the Past, Living the Present, and Enjoying the...
So often, the old adage, History always repeats itself, rings true due to a failure to
truly confront the past, especially when the memory of a period of time sparks
profoundly negative emotions ranging from anguish to anger. However, danger lies
in failing to recognize history or in the inability to reconcile the mistakes of the past.
In her novel, Beloved, Toni Morrisonexplores the relationship between the past,
presentand future. Because the horrors of slavery cause so much pain for slaves
who endured physical abuse as well as psychological and emotional hardships,
former slaves may try to block out the pain, failing to reconcile with their past.

Sethe understands that her history, filled with the pain of slavery, grief over losing
her children, and guilt over Beloved s death, and tries to hide from all the anguish.
However, she admits that the past seems to always be there waiting, thereby
emphasizing the idea that past horrors of life continue to haunt forever. It appears
as though the power of her experience in slavery influences her so greatly that the
memory triggers great pain, causing the horrifying incidents to happen again. Even
though Sethe understands that she cannot ever fully escape her history as it will
come back to trouble her, she still tries to avoid them and thus attempts to shield her
daughter from the horrors of history: As for Denver, the job Sethe had of keeping
her from the past that was still waiting for her was all that mattered (45). It seems as
though Sethe tries to deny the fact that history does not simply disappear. She still
tries to protect Denver from the past even though history waits, prepared to cause
trouble and inflict the pain Sethe tries to repress. It appears as though Sethe
continuously tries to fight against her memories and ignore her past in part one. For
example, after she wakes, she begins Working dough. Working, working dough.

Water Fowl Hunting Research Paper
Across the United States of America, water fowl hunting is one of the most popular
hunting sports that occurs every year during the autumn and winter seasons. Hunters
spread out over wide range of areas across the United States to take a shot at geese,
ducks, and other well known game birds. Water fowl huntingcan be done in crop
fields or on a river. When a shot goes up over half the shots taken pellets are falling
towards a field or wet land area. Concerns have been made and laws and regulations
against Lead Shots are being adjusted. The new laws and regulations are requiring
water fowl hunters who use traditional lead shot ammunition are now to use steel
shots when water fowl hunting. (White)
Lead Ammunition has been the traditional form of ammunition for over many
decades now. Many hunters have been using lead ammunition since the early 1960 s.
Ammunition manufactures started creating shot gun shells that are made of red
plastic and contain over a minimum of twenty or more lead pellets in each shell.
Some shells very in different sizes and contain different amounts of lead pellets for
different hunting uses. These shells were made to have a high killing power when
hunting waterfowl. Such a tiny lead pellet has become a very big ... Show more

Steel shot ammunition pellets weigh less than a steel pellet does. They have a less
kill power than a lead pellet. They come in the same shot gun shells as lead does but
they have more pellets inside giving them a stronger force. Just like the lead pellet
shells they vary in different shell sizes for different hunting uses. Steel shells give a
cleaner shot that will help the game bird bleed more freely without getting the pellet
stuck inside its body. The most important part about this substitution is the steel
pellets are eliminating lead poisoning from
The True Tragic Hero of Antigone
What makes a hero? In our society, a hero is thought of as a tall man who wears a
cape and has super powers, but to the Greeks, it was very different. In every Greek
tragedy, there is the tragic hero, defined by Aristotle as a character who is an
extraordinary person, with both good and bad qualities. Although the character
reaches a level of insight, a tragic flaw, such as hamartia, leads to their failure in the
end. A perfect example of this can be found in Sophoclestrilogy, The Theban Plays
which follows the struggling city of Thebes and the efforts of its rulers to escape their
misfortune. Antigone, the third play is an excellent example of this. As the title is
Antigone, one would assume that she is the tragic hero, or heroine, but... Show more

He serves the law without wavering, but he neglects the needs and wants of the
Thebans. When Creon is informed the people of Thebes disagree with his decision
regarding Antigone, he responds: The people of Thebes! / Since when do I take
my orders from the people of Thebes? (Antigone 146). This shows his inability to
accept any way but his and his apathy regarding others. The contrast in his traits of
determination and indifference makes Creon a combination of good and bad.
Creon s tragic flaw is hamartia, or error in judgement. This error drives him to
refuse Polynices his burial rights and to sentence Antigone to death. As king,
Creon believes no one can tell him what he should or should not do, but he ignores
the fact that not even a king has power against the gods. Creon lives only by the
laws of the city, while Antigone, and the rest of Thebes live by the more powerful
laws of the gods. Leaving Polynices to be eaten by dogs and vultures is not only
disrespectful, it is a crime against the laws of heaven, and Creon pays dearly for his
crime. When Creon is visited by the blind seer Teiresias, he realizes he has made a
mistake. Yet despite threats from Antigone and his son Haemon, Creon continues
with his original intentions until Teiresias declares:
Ere the chariot of the sun

The Role of Government and Personal Freedoms Essay
When the leaders of the American Revolution began their journey of independence,
they revolted against the increasingly totalitarian monarchy of King George III.
Representatives from across the colonies met numerous times to discuss the intrusive
and burdensome policies implemented by the British Government, and to unify their
efforts to have the governmentaddress their grievances. After numerous overtures
were spurned by the British Government, the colonial leadership embarked on a path
of overt defiance against a government which they believed no longer held the right to
govern. In this struggle the founders of the United Statesanswered the important
generational question, Should we consent to be governed? Their answer concerning...

While a small of amount of incidental injustice is tolerable in any form of
government, it is important that government should contain an ideological focus on
maintaining the maximum number of negative rights among individuals within the
state fairly and equally. Whenever the state systemically undermines the rights of a
large segment of the population, people have the right to protest against any laws or
institutional structures which perpetuates injustice. Although protesting and
disobedience to laws are morally justifiable, the scope in which people are allowed
to rebel against government must be proportional to the injustice committed.
Martin Luther King Jr. s Letter from a Birmingham Jail provides a useful
framework to explain under what condition a law is unjust and should be
disobeyed. In his letter, King Jr. argues that an unjust law is, any law that degrades
human personality . . . is a code that a numerical or power majority group compels a
minority group to obey but does not make binding on itself . . . [or] a law [that] is
just on its face and unjust in its application (King Jr.). By utilizing King Jr. s criteria,
people can determine if the preconditions exist for the consent to be governed.
Another important condition that a government must ensure in order to receive
consent to be government is its adherence to the protection of third party interests to
fully protect the rights and freedoms of individuals from
Summary Of The Song Landslide
Landslide, by Fleetwood Mac, is written to show how the removal of a loved one
can impact someone s life negatively or positively. The theme of the song can be
found in several lyric such as, Well, I ve been afraid of changin, cause I ve built
my life around you (Fleetwood Mac). It is said that if a couple thinks that their
relationship is not going to work out, it can tumble over at any time. The effects of
shouting out and going for help may seem like a good idea, but it will just bring
down the avalanche right on top of the situation and collapse everything in. In

the security and satisfaction after shooting up with heroin. The idea of drugs and sex

1984 Upper Class Analysis
The upper class desires to remain so, the middle class wishes to overthrow the
upper class, and the lower class wants a classless system. In his famous novel,
1984, George Orwell writes about the different lifestyles and effects of the social
class on the population of the world the book is set in. In this society the upper class,
known as the inner party , closely patrols and monitors the thoughts and actions of its
citizen in their world of Oceania. Winston Smith, the protagonist member of the
middle classknown as the outer party challenges these leaders with his free and
mindful thoughts that go against the party and disrupt their system. Winston feels
the lower class, the proles are the only real humans in their society and he
undermines the party s rules and laws in an attempt to escape their grasp. First of
all, the upper class mindfully controls and supervises the below classes while, at the
same time, occupies several advantages and privileges in their personal lives.
Secondly, the middle class takes advantage of the Lows while wishing they had the
life of the High despite their many benefits. Furthermore, the proles at the bottom are
seen as the most inhumane and unimportant of the society while experiencing many
hardships and disadvantages in life. Therefore, while the upper class enjoys its
many benefits and power, the middle class has a great amount of aid but wants more
and uses the Lows to get it, and the lower class suffers from poor treatment and

Essay on Buck s Dilemma
Solution 1 Classification with the Statement of Cash Flows
Buck should present the borrowing and payment activity as a cash flow from
financing activities.
ASC 230 10 45 14 states that proceeds from issuing bonds, mortgages, notes, and
from other short or long term borrowing are a cash inflow from financing activities.
Similarly, ASC 23010 45 15 states that repayments of amounts borrowed are a cash
outflow for financing activities. Solution 2 Gross versus net presentation
Scenario 1
Net presentation is appropriate. Buck may classify the activity as a $50 million net
cash inflow

activities section of the statement of cash flows. ... Show more content on

Buck s activities related to both of the draws in Scenario 2 once again reflect some of
the characteristics within the cash flow statement guidance. The transactions can be
considered large in relation to the maximum borrowing capacity, and the volume of
activity is assumed to be large
(note, in practice, these determinations typically involve judgment and are
dependent upon individual facts and circumstances). Unlike Scenario 1, the terms
of the draws do not consider the draws to be due on demand to Buck s bank. Rather,
the first draw has an original maturity of six months, and the second draw has an
original maturity of three months or less. Therefore, in accordance with ASC 230 10
45 9, Buck must present the activity related to the first draw on a gross basis because
the original maturity is greater than three months. In turn, net presentation is
appropriate for the second draw since it has an original maturity of three months or
less.
Scenario 3
Buck should present all borrowing and payment activity under the Facility on a gross
basis within the financing activities section of the statement of cash flows. The draws
on the Facility do not have any specific repayment provisions other than the overall
expiration date of the
Facility as of December 31, 2012. While the activity does have some of the factors
needed to
consider net presentation, including large dollar amounts in relation to the maximum

The American Public School System

This alarming statistic shows that there is a current need to solve this continuing
problem haunting our school systems. The solution to this problem in the state of
Florida is the adoption of the common core standards into our public school systems
to bridge this widening gap facing America. In implementing these new common core
standards, the state of Florida would be instituting a more concrete way of ingraining
retention into its students. These standards require much deeper analysis and thought
to arrive at conclusions. This widened view Students cannot simply memorize facts
and formulas that they regurgitate to their teachers, but have to explain and show
exactly how a solution is reached and how they came about solving that problem. It is
through this deep level of thinking that retention and deep learning are truly mastered.
These standards are meant to teach students how to think not what to think. By
allowing this independent school of thought and analysis we are building a
foundation for students to excel and take theses skills and run with them. Many other
standards neglect this important aspect and focus and what needs to be taught and
how well students must memorize information for their standardized tests without

The mid 70 s became the climax in allowance for different family situation. Unlike
the 50 s and 60 s where women played minor roles as housewives, the 70 s
presented a new kind of role for females: single moms. Sitcoms such as The Partridge
Family, focused on the mother figure and displayed the roles she undertook as both a
motherand a father. Comparing The Partridge Familyto a modern sitcoms such as
Ben Kate, these shows share a male characters that fills in the father figure gap and
the struggle both mothers face as single parents. On the other hand, they differ in
the child s rebellion due to their void in a paternal figure. The show may centralise
on a single mother, however, there will always be a male figure present to take the
place of the father. Rabinovitz notes that in spite of the sitcom revolving around a
single mom, a male figure, whether if it was a relative of the mother or an
unsuitable mate for the mother, is incorporated into the show as a male
representation for the child. In The Partridge Family, the band s manager was the
closest father figure the five children had. In Ben Kate, Ben is the father figure of his
niece Maddie. How these characters fulfil their father figure duties are similar as well.
In the Partridge Family, the children spend most of the time with their mom and
Reuben Kincaid, the manager of the band. Although Ruben regularly clashed with the
children because of his grumpy attitude, he took on the paternal role of being present
How Does Shakespeare Present Miranda s Duality In The
Tempest
The Unbearable Duality of Being
In The Tempest, Shakespeare depicts Caliban in a binary manner. From one
perspective, the play depicts Caliban as a tragic native, enslaved and abused by an
invading European despite showing them devotion and kindness. Prospero calls
Caliban my slave during Caliban s introduction (Tempest, 1.2.308). He constantly
insults Caliban, gives him orders for menial tasks, and imprisons him, keep[ing]
from [him] the rest o th island (Tempest, 1.2.344). Miranda further expresses that
Caliban cannot be good because of his disposition, that his vile race ... had that in t
which good natures could not abide to be with (Tempest, 1.2.357 359). Through these
examples, it becomes clear that Miranda and Prospero view Caliban, ... Show more

From these specific moments in the text, Shakespeare depicts Caliban as a kind,
noble hearted creature who used to be free but was enslaved by Prospero, despite his
initial kindness and affection towards him.
However, this perspective requires the omission of various critical pieces of
evidence, which, when considered, force the reader to conclude that Caliban is
truly a barbaric native that abused the care and parental like mentorship offered to
him by Prospero and now suffers a well deserved punishment. Caliban himself
describes how well Prospero treated him upon his arrival at the island. Prospero
gave him water with berries in t, taught him how to name the bigger light and how
the less, and strok st [him] and made much of [him] (Tempest, 1.2.332 339).
Prospero clearly and evidently cared for Prospero, a natural assumption since
Prospero and Miranda needed Caliban s help to survive on the island. Prospero
further claims to have us d thee ... with humane care, and lodg d thee in my own cell,
till thou didst seek to violate the honour of my child (Tempest, 1.2.345 348).
Essentially, Caliban attempted to rape Miranda, an accusation he does not refute,
which caused Prospero to imprison and enslave him as punishment and explains the
copious cursing and hatred both sides have towards each
Sulfate And Hydrate Lab Report
Introduction In this lab hydrates and anhydrous material were used to discover
percent loss of copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate and mass loss in anhydrous calcium
chloride. Hydrates are chemical compounds that have a discrete water molecules that
are part of the compounds crystalline structure. Anhydrous compounds have
crystalline structures containing no water. In this experiment, copper (II) sulfate
pentahydrate was heated and loss mass, while the anhydrous calcium gained mass.
When heated, hydrates break bond with water and the water is released into the
atmosphere. Once the water in the hydrate has thoroughly evaporated, it becomes
anhydrous. Purpose The purpose of this lab was to calculate the percent of water
mass the copper (II)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate was heated the hydrate loss 35.16% of
water. The hydrate should have loss 36.08% of water after it was heated. The
anhydrous calcium chloride became hydrated after it gained .64% of water. As a
result of the loss of 35.16% of water from the copper sulfate pentahydrate, the
anhydrous calcium chloride should have gained a higher percent of water from
the atmosphere than .64%. Evaluation: The percent error in the experiment was
2.61%. The percent is low because most of the water in the crystals had been
driven off. A lower percent error could have occurred if the CuSO4 * 5H2O was
heated more. Suggested Improvements: When the lab experiment was conducted,
the copper sulfate pentahydrate was placed inside the casserole. If the casserole
was heated before the hydrate was place in it, then the water that might have been in
the casserole prior to the sample being added would not be included in the hydrate.
Since the casserole was not heated, the result may have been of a higher mass of
water being loss. Another improvement that could be made to this experiment, could
be increasing the sample size to an average
Persuasive Essay On Medical Marijuana
Recent studies have proven that medical marijuana can be extremely beneficial to
the overall health and well being of individuals, especially those who suffer from
medical ailments. Consequently, the usage of marijuana has been a widespread
debate for decades throughout Nevada. For instance, Nevada was the sixth state in
the country to outlaw the use of cannabis in 1923, this was partly due to a nationwide
prohibition on drugs during 1911 1933 (Davenport Hines, 2004). Essentially, this
amended the NevadaConstitution outlawing the use of cannabis. However, as time
passed, the residents of Nevada decided it would be wise to allow the usage of
marijuana for medical purposes. Specifically, the usage of medical marijuana was up
for debate in 1998 and again in 2000, under Question 9, where the residents of
Nevada had voted on an initiativeto amend the previous legislature to the Nevada
Constitution, which allows the residents to use marijuana ...for the treatment or
alleviation of certain illnesses (Raybuck, 2010). It s worth noting that in order to
amend the state constitution in Nevada requires, ... via the ballot initiative process to
pass by a majority of voters in two consecutive general elections (Raybuck, 2010). In
other words, for the residents to amend the state constitution they needed to approve
the proposed ruling by a majority for two consecutive ballots. Furthermore, once the
initiative passed allowing the use of marijuana for medical purposes, Nevadans had a
Essay On Reverse Discrimination
Discrimination: treating a person or group differently when the reason is not
relevant (Kaye and Thomson). A double standard is created when a rule or
regulation does not fairly apply to all groups. An example of this is racism s double
standard that has been created while trying to amend to unfairness created by racism.
These double standard are hostile to attempts of true equality due to the harm it
causes to the media/justice system create reverse discrimination, and affect college
admissions unfairly. The double standard of racism affects the media/justice system
by creating racist articles that are viewed as okay , viewing one form of racism
acceptable while another not, and affecting opinions about what if fair and what is not.

One reason why this may be more effective it that young minds can be easily
swayed by what may at first seem like reliable media outlets. Also, without proper
education on the topic students can easily see discrimination as a one way act and
then be intolerant but, if taught well they will now that it can go both ways. In
addition to this, instead of teens and adults trying to amend racism by creating a
double standard actual work towards equality can take
Willy Nus Sublime
How do artistic depictions of technology and industry in paintings reflect the aesthetic
concept of the Sublime? The sublime is used to describe things that inspire awe or a
feeling or emotion. Artistic depictions of the industrial worker are commonly used to
depict the sublime. The sublime is an aesthetic concept that originated in Western
society during the Classical Age. It has been defined and discussed by historical
figures such as Edmund Burke, Immanuel Kant, and Longinus. The sublime describes

The artist Willy Nus displays the sublime in his painting Transporting Large Heated
Workpiece, which he completed in 1910 (TГјrk, 2003, p. 196). Nus work shows
several men pushing and pulling a cart on rails carrying a hot steam workpiece
from inside the preheater unit. The painting s emphasis is on the hot glowing steel
workpiece and the open furnace, both of which illuminate the workers as well as
most of the background. The workpiece s terminus is the forge hammer, which
appears to be steam powered because it creates large clouds of steam that fill in a
portion of the background. Also, the sublime is artistically depicted by the German
artist Leonhard Sandrock in his work At the Forge (TГјrk, 2003, p. 195). The
painting shows men using a forging press that is capable of producing workpieces
that weigh anywhere from five to fifteen tons. The forge press is reducing the size
of a large, smoldering, glowing workpiece. The workpiece is being held off the
ground by two chain loops that are attached to pulleys, which are supported by two
service cranes (TГјrk, 2003, p. 195). The painting s emphasis is directed to the
glowing workpiece by the workpiece being brighter than its immediate surroundings,
which creates contrast and draws the viewer s attention to

Attorney General V. Delaware Case Study
First and foremost, is the issue of jurisdiction regarding the recent cyber scam
targeting Delaware citizens. As evidenced in previous cases, the Attorney General
would be within his jurisdiction to prosecute the defendant within the state of
Delaware. Assuming due process was upheld, and no Fourth or Fifth Amendment
rights were violated in the acquisition of evidence, the Attorney General should have
no obstacles in pursuing both criminal and civil actions against the defendant. Finally,
the Attorney General should be able to select a venue within the state of Delaware, if
no conflict arises between the defense and prosecution. Regarding jurisdiction, the
primary issue in this case is that of personal jurisdiction. Personal jurisdiction refers to
the court s authority to call the defendant into the judicial process, rather than a
geographic location or item (Craig, 2013). Fortunately, there has already been a
precedent set by the United States Supreme Court that applies in this particular case.
In International Shoe Company v. Washington, 326 U.S. U.S. 310 (1945), the
Supreme Court established a system of minimum contacts as the primary
jurisdictional test for establishing personal jurisdiction (Craig, 2013). This ruling
simply establishes that a state can exercise jurisdictional power, if the defendant has

In this case, the victims of the cyber scam are all residents within the state of
Delaware. As such, there should be no dispute about the state of Delaware as the
primary venue for court proceedings. However, if there is a dispute about which
venue to use within the state of Delaware, a forum selection clause may be
employed to solve the dispute. If the defense feel that a venue is unfair towards their
client, a contract known as a forum selection clause can be used to come to an
agreement about a local venue (Craig,

Depression
.
The Great Depression was a period of unprecedented decline in economic activity. It
is generally agreed to have occurred between 1929 and 1939. Although parts of the
economy had begun to recover by 1936, high unemployment persisted until the
Second World War.
Background To Great Depression: * The 1920s witnessed an economic boom in the
US (typified by Ford Motor cars, which made a car within the grasp of ordinary
workers for the first time). Industrial output expanded very rapidly. * Sales were
often promoted through buying on credit. However, by early 1929, the steam had
gone out of the economy and output was beginning to fall. * The stock market had
boomed to record levels. Price to earning ratios were above ... Show more content on

Global Downturn.
America had lent substantial amounts to Europe and UK, to help rebuild after first
world war. Therefore, there was a strong link between the US economy and the rest
of the world. The US downturn soon spread to the rest of the world as America
called in loans, Europe couldn t afford to pay back. This global recession was
exacerbated by imposing new tariffs such as Smoot Hawley which restricted trade
further.
Different Views of the Great Depression
Monetarists View
Monetarists highlight the importance of a fall in the money supply. They point out
that between 1929 and 1932, the Federal reserve allowed the money supply
(Measured by M2) to fall by a third. In particular, Monetarists such as Friedman
criticise the decisions of the Fed not to save banks going bankrupt. They say that
because the money supply fell so much an ordinary recession turned into a major
deflationary depression.
Austrian View
Austrian school of Economists such as Hayek and Ludwig Von Mises place much of
the blame on an unsustainable credit boom in the 1920s. In particular, they point to
the decision to inflate the US economy to try and help the UK remain on the Gold
standard at a rate which was too high. They argue after this unsustainable credit boom
a recession became inevitable. The Austrian school doesn t accept the Friedman
analysis that falling money supply was the main problem. They argue it was the loss
of confidence in the banking

Machiavelli and the Use of Antiquity in The Prince and The Discourses
The Renaissance was a time of classical revival and a turning point from the Middle
Ages to the Early Modern period in the course of history. Ancient texts and artifacts
became sources of inspiration for intellectuals and artists alike, and the desire to
emulate or even surpass the achievements of the past prompted them to study
antiquities closely and saw them as models and guidance. People were consciously
distinguishing themselves from the medieval thoughts and using history to make
something new for their own era. In the field of political philosophy there s no
exception. Niccolo Machiavelli is perhaps the most representative and
groundbreaking figure of this trend in political philosophy. With his erudition in
ancient literature, histories and political thoughts, Machiavelli draws various sources
from antiquity to critic and response to the political environment of histime. While
one may find seemingly discrepancies in The Prince and The Discourse on the First
Ten Books of Tius Livy, the use of histories as guide to demonstrate or propose ideal
rules is apparent in both works. We should note that synthesizing ancient philosophy
or thoughts with contemporary thoughts is nothing new. Thomas Aquinas, for
example, reconciled Aristotelianism and Christianity in his work Summa Theologica,
using ancient antiquity to back up his Christian beliefs. What is so noteworthy in
Machiavelli is his emphasis and
Portrayal Of Soldiers In Movies Essay
Even though a soldier is made for war they are still human on the inside so if they
start to feel a range of different emotions it is not odd, I have chosen to explore the
portrayal of soldiers the movies I will focus on are: Pearl Habour by Michael Bay,
American Sniper by Clint Eastwood, Black Hawk Down by Ridley Scott and the
song Hero Of War performed by Rise Against to see if there are any similarities in the
emotions of soldiers whether it be a sense of pride or a feeling of depression.
At the start of the movie Pearl Habour directed by Michael Bay shows two young
boys Danny and Reef who are pretending to fly an old aeroplane. The two boys
then go on to being pilots in the U.S.A navy. The pilots show a sense of pen when
the Japanese chose to bomb Pearl Harbour and they courageously decided to get in
two planes and ended up shooting down seven Japanese aeroplanes. Towards the end
Reef begins to display signs of depression as Danny is shot by a Japanese soldier. An

Throughout the movie, it showed a lot of mixed emotions. The main emotion I noticed
was a sense of courage, mainly because the U.S soldiers that were fighting in

but to make a difference for the ones who did not want war. But when an American

soldiers to go and fight another countries war was pretty outstanding. I believe that
the emotions that would have been running through the soldiers would have been

Zen Gardens Essay
Zen Gardens
Zen Buddhism began to show up in Japan during the eighth century. It went through
various periods of popularity and disregard, but constituted one of the most important
influences on Japanese culture. All Buddhist temples include gardens. The first
temple gardens evolved from well groomed landscaping around Shinto shrines. Later,
the gates and grounds surrounding Buddhist temples began to use gardens to beautify
the temple, similar to the Heian mansion gardens. Jodo Buddhism (Pure Land) used
temple gardens as a way to symbolize the pure land created by Amida Buddha to aid
suffering souls in pursuit of enlightenment. These Zen gardens were meant to

Fishing on small boats to catch fish in their ponds was one popular activity. Poetry

According to Feng shui, all structures have to be laid out carefully along compass
lines and in certain configurations to allow ki (Chinese chi ), the mystic energy of
life to flow properly. A reduced ki flow in a home was thought to cause sickness and
disharmony. For example, the builders, after consulting with a Yin yang diviner,
would usually create special arrangements to prevent bad ki from entering the home
from the northwest. In the first Japanese garden design manual, the Sakuteiki, it is
explained how water courses should flow from the northwest to the southeast so
that any bad ki could be cleansed by the protective deity of the east Kamogawa
(blue dragon), then proceed west again passing under a veranda of the house so as
to draw away any evil spirits that might have somehow slipped into the house.
Heavy stones were thought to serve as gates or landing points for spirits and were
thus placed very carefully. Other design rules applied as well. Influenced by esoteric
Buddhism, the garden design was expected to include an island in a pond connected
to the mainland by a bridge. This represented the world of enlightenment separated
from the world of man. The bridges were frequently arched and coated with bright red
lacquer (another Chinese influence).

Motivation Of Animals In Mishka The Husky
Humans may be smart, but they wouldn t usually approach a crying person on the
street and try to comfort them. You know who would? A dog. Humans might be the
smartest animals on the planet, but they sure aren t the nicest. Dogs are one of the
nicest animals, and they provide lots of things we humans need. Dogs, and other

Animals can provide motivation in many ways. Mishka the Husky can say many

Walking And The Suburbanized Psyche, By Rebecca Solnit
In the anecdote, Walking and the Suburbanized Psyche , by Rebecca Solnit, she
implies, if walking continues to devalue, our society s relationship between body,
world, and imagination will be lost. I personally do not find walking to be a cultural
activity or pleasure of getting around. Instead, walkingis a hassle when the American
suburbs are built with a diffuseness that the unenhanced human body is inadequate
to cope with . Furthermore, instead of making us feel guilty or attempting to
persuade us to travel on foot; we should acknowledge that we now perceive: value,
time, space and our own bodies in a drastically different way than older times. I
utterly disagree with Solnit s ideology, Otherwise the individual s imagination will
be bulldozed over to the chain store outlets of consumers appetite, true crime,
titillation, and celebrity crisis . The one way I d relish taking a walk would be
with pleasant company. If you re hand in hand with your partner appreciating the
scenery together that changes the ambiance of the walk. Yet what changes actual
the mood of it is the person you re with and not the actual walk because you can be
doing anything else but instead you re with pleasant company therefore it doesn t
matter what you re doing. Likewise, when people voice they will only be pleased
when they reach a certain point in their life; what if you never get to that point? Does
that mean you ll never be satisfied? Solnit classifies walking the same

natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever. Companies need
to evolve with the modern age and changing consumer market. For example, Netflix
never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with the changing
consumer market, they have done just that. Also, NGO s sometimes have to partner
with bigger for profit companies in order to target a larger consumer base, thus,
solidifying the fact that the for profit and non profit sector have to team together in
order to sustain the environment in which we inhabit. Business, Sustainability and
Poverty, Jacqueline Novogratz This plenary begins by stating that a financial crisis
occurs when people in the markets do not trust each other. Trust is what makes a
society fair. Corruption flourishes upon weaknesses in economic, political, and social
institutions, and this diverts economic growth by eroding the quality of public goods.
In this age, income equality has increased across countries due to globalization and
technology; however, income inequality within countries has increased as
Distinctive View About Giotto And Piero s Paintings
Distinctive View about Giotto and Piero s Paintings There were many famous
painters in the Pro Renaissance period and Early Renaissance. Representatives
were Giotto di Bondone and Piero della Francesca. Gitto and Piero paintings were a
mirror to reflect Italy world in the period of Pro Renaissance period and Early
Renaissance. In addition, there were many similarities and differences between Giotto
and Piero painting style, such as naturalism and humanism; religious piety with good
business and religious piety with human development for needs. Obviously, Giotto
and Piero were painting giant.
Giotto di Bondone was regarded as the first painter in the period of Proto
Renaissance and some scholars described that Giotto was the father of Western
pictorial art. Giotto was from Florence, which was a famous city especially on the
aspect of artistic centers and town of trade and textile. In fact, Giotto s patting style is
naturalism; it is more focus on the realistic stuff, so everything painting is based on
real life. Dante and Cimabue might affect Giotto painting style; therefore, Giotto s
painting was more focus on the nature and reality.
Giotto created many famous paintings; one of the frescos was Lamentation.
Lamentation was a fresco painting created by Giotto Di Bondone in 1305 at
Florence. Lamentation tells us a story of Mary and followers are all lament for the
Crist death. This fresco s background color is blue, which applies a phenomenon of
sad. In this fresco, we can

Abstract Nurse Louise Lynam, a nurse practitioner, published a scientific journal
article that informed readers on the importance of foot and ankle sprains. She gave
specific scenarios and explained the overall structure of the foot and ankle along with
the ways to distinguish if there is an injury to that area.
Assessment of Acute Foot and Ankle Sprains
Introduction
Acute foot and ankle sprains are common injuries that are frequently seen in the
medical field that have to be treated for. This can happen to people at any age, male
or female, young or old. People can get ankle sprains in any ways ... Show more

Grade I involves stretching a ligament, Grade II involves stretch or slight tear to a
ligament, and Grade III involves the ligaments to be ruptured. Such results of
Grade III can cause an individual to not be able to walk. With that being said,
prevention is an important factor especially if an individual has already had an
injury to the foot or ankle because it is more likely to happen again. As stated in the
beginning, once an individual has had a foot or an ankle injury it is 73.5 percent
chance that it can reoccur (Lynam, L.). A big help to prevent such injury is as simple
as warming up and stretching your ankle and foot before heavy activities. This will
help stretch the muscles and the tendons in the ankle. Other simple prevention
mechanism includes wearing the right shoes when out doing physical activities,
wearing an ankle brace if the ankle or foot has been injured already in the past,
paying close attention to your surroundings, and to pay attention to warning signs if
the individual is getting tired. It is important to teach the patient that once the area is
injured they need to rest, ice and elevate their foot for correct care. Once again, teach
them how to prevent it
My Current Position Requires That I Write
My current position requires that I write daily. I prepare estate plans, draft petitions,
and provide information to my clients, who usually are not lawyers. I provide my
client written instructions regarding funding their trusts, trust administration, and
probate procedures. Many clients prefer communicating via email; thus, I find
myself writing detailed explanations of legal theories and application of the law to
the facts of their case. It is crucial they understand the issues, so they may make
educated decisions. My clients have expressed their appreciation of my ability to
communicate complicated legal issues in a straightforward manner. My editing

Some trusts require distribution after the death of the person who created the trust.
Some trusts require the trustee hold and manage the trust assets for a specific time
period.
Renting the Property
If your brother s trust allows you to manage the assets for the benefit of the
beneficiaries, then you may consider keeping the house. A trustee has a duty to
manage the trust assets as a prudent investor. A prudent investor will do what a
reasonable person would do under the same circumstances. To determine whether a
prudent investor would keep the house, you must determine whether the rental
income would exceed the costs of keeping the property. Renting the property is not
as simple as making sure the toilets are working. You must comply with landlord
tenant laws, possibly hire a property manager, and pay property tax, insurance, and
maintenance costs. The trust must have a cash reserve to cover any unexpected
costs. Such costs may include hiring an attorney to evict a tenant. There may be a
loss of rental income or a tenant may damage the property. Normal maintenance
costs may add up as well something as simple as replacing a roof may cost
thousands of dollars. A cost benefit analysis will be useful to determine if the fair

Introduction An inclusive education upholds the ideals of an equitable society where
access to and successful participation in education are considered to be the right of
every person in that society. This paper will argue that whilst some steps have been
taken to ensure equity in education for all, there is still a long way to go before
Australia can provide a truly inclusive educational experience for all participants. It
will be shown that there are deficit based and systemic approaches to exclusion and
that rather than promote inclusiveness; these approaches place the blame upon either

Needs according to Thomas
3
Vaughan (2004, p. 19), can be seen as a bottomless pit of problems. Roaf and Bines
(cited in Thomas Vaughan, 2004, p. 16), suggest that rights and opportunities are a
more effective way of describing the educational needs of all learners, whether
special or not. Placing the onus on students to make themselves fit the education
mould will never lead to successful outcomes for everyone, nor does it encourage a
cohesive and inclusive society, therefore deficit based approaches are not acceptable.
The second explanation is the systemic approach which places responsibility on the
system for poor learning outcomes. The process of trying to include people by
normalising them is a product of ideologies which aim to contribute to the labour
market (Preece, 2001, p. 213). People who are believed to have no perceived
economic value are disregarded instead of value being attributed to their own
individual identities and experiences (p. 213). McIntyre, Volkoff, Egg, Solomon
(2004, p.18) suggests that equity is a highly variable concept, dependant upon the
systems that support the state and in order to achieve equity the ideologies
underpinning society need to be examined. These ideologies are reflected in the
institutions that provide education and are often not conducive to inclusivity.

I. Abstract
The aim of this paper is to test the random walk hypothesis by applying the runs test
on time series of several selected stocks. The random walk theory is the theory that
stock prices changes have the same distribution and are independent of each other, so
the past movement or trend of a stock price or market cannot be used to predict its
future movement. Shortly said it is the idea that stocks take a random and
unpredictable path.
The motivation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More commonly and in a standardized output, we would rather use the p value in
order to draw a conclusion about the hypothesis but as we don t have one, we are
forced to compare the absolute Z value to the quantile. In other words, an absolute
value greater than 1.96, called the critical value, indicates non randomness and
disproves the random walk theory. The mathematical form of this statement is:
Z ≥Z1 α2=0.975
As the reader has got now all the information available about theory and methodology,
it s time to move on to the concrete part. Indeed, next header explains the extraction
of data.
IV. Data
The data of the historical prices of the chosen stocks will be taken from the official
source Yahoo! Finance. The R software uses this source by default and therefore the
end user can simply assess this data by installing the package В« quantmod В» and
using the library command.
In this paper three stocks have been chosen, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), IBM

Symptoms And Treatment Of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Contested illnesses are disorders in which sufferers claim to have a specific illness
that doctors do not acknowledge as medical (Conrad and Barker 2010). These
illnesses are not associated with any recognized physical abnormalities which causes
them to be not taken seriously. In addition, the tension between lay and medical
understanding with regards to the cultural legitimation of symptoms can be
exemplified with these disorders. The contested illnessI chose to focus on in this
paper is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It will be examined the different criteria this
disorder have that resulted it to be classified as a contested illnesses, as well as
explore the social constructionist perspective in respect to this disorder. Moreover, it
will be answered whether there is a genderdynamic involved in this condition in
addition to the contribution big Pharma might or might not have. Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome, also known as CFS, falls under the category of contested disorders. These
illnesses express numerous concerns about the reliability and consistency of the
criteria applied to diagnose such disorders. CFS involves persistent inexplicable
fatigue that often includes some sort of headache, muscle or joint pain, fever, sore
throat, difficulty in concentrating, memory loss and dizziness (Ware 1992). Despite
these symptoms, CFS fails to present any empirical diagnostic indicators, since it is
not related with any recognized physical abnormality, making it susceptible to social
Nursing Mobility And Safety
Mobility and safety are two nursing topics that are very related. Safety is the key to
ensure that the patient can remain mobile. It is important that the patient has ways to
move around without fear of falling. It is also imperative that the patient knows how
to move safely and use mobility devices. The nurse needs to understand how these
two topics go together to ensure that the patient will remained unharmed at the
hospital and in the home. As stated earlier, safetyis so important to make sure that
patient keeps their mobility. The surroundings need to be safe to prevent falls.
When falls are prevented, the patient remains mobile. One safety precautions to
ensure that falls do not happen is to have a clear area for the patient to be able to
walk around. This means not having objects in their pathway or rugs in their
walkway. Having these objects in the way can cause the patient to have a fall. Having
rooms well lit will prevent falls. If they are able to see... Show more content on

There might be certain movements that can affect mobility in the future or could re
injure they surgical site. For example, after a hip replacement surgery patients are
given and abduction pillow. According to Hip Rehab After Surgery , the pillow is
used to prevent the patient from dislocating their new hip. After the surgery for safety
reasons their mobility must be restricted while it heals. When they do the surgery,
they cut through muscles and those have to grow back. This will prevent further
injury and the patient will be able to get back their normal mobility after it is healed.
Although there are certain actions that post operation patients cannot do they still
need to be mobile. The patient is moved as soon as the patient is able to handle it.
Getting the patient up will prevent blood clots in their legs and promote blood
circulation. Proper blood flow to the legs will mean that they can remain mobile and

Rastafari Religion
The presence of Supreme Being, one that is believed to be the giver of life to the
living has been recognized by many religions. In the list of the religions, Rastafari
is one of them. Its belief and originality is believed to have originated from the land
of Ethiopia where the recognized savior was King Haile Selassie (Wittmann, 2011).
The religionhas unique belief in the ability of the Supreme Being to control, the world
and that He has the supreme powers that no one can compete with.
The believers growing dreadlocks characterize the culture of the religion and they
consider smoking of cannabis as sacred. Any member that purports to be a

Violent Media Argument Analysis
My argument synthesis essay
Violent media is good for kids is a fascinating article written by Gerard Jones. He
makes an argument about how many forms of creative violence help many more
children than they harm by giving them a tool to master their rage. At thirteen years
of age he explains how forms of violence have been insightful and impactful for him.
Growing up alone and afraid Gerard was taught by his parents that rage was
something to be overcome and that violence was wrong. He was placed in a small
school he felt was wrong for him, but then he withdrew from his loneliness when he
became introduced to Marvel comics. Specifically, a character in the Marvel comics
he felt he could relate to named the Hulk caught his eye and freed ... Show more

That rage in the rapper s lyrics helped her in a way which she felt she could be
powerful and invulnerable in her mind. That same girl later in her life avoided the
use of drugs that sank many of her peers and succeeded through college as a writer
and political activist.
Jones is not making an argument saying that violent entertainment is harmless. He
knows it inspired some people to real life violence. He argues that it has helped
many people for the many people that it hurt before and that it can help even more if
people learn to utilize it well. He believes that parents highest priority with their kids
is to prevent them growing up into violent thugs, but modern kids are more likely to
grow up too passive, distrustful of themselves, and too easily manipulated. He
believes that when parents try to protect their own kids from their own feelings and
fantasies, they shelter them not from violence but against power and selfhood. Jones
urges us to consider helping our kids with their fantasies rather than trying to hide
them or take them away.
When life imitates video is another article written by John Leo who opposes the
argument given before by Gerard Jones. John s argument is that If we want to
avoid more massacres we should be taking the social effects of killing games more
seriously. He mentions the Colorado Massacre as suspects Dylan Klebold and Eric
Harris used pistol grip shotguns as
Longitudinal Study Essay
ABSTRACT
This study describes two types of research methods frequently used by researchers to
conduct their study. The two type of research methods undertaken for this study are
the Field Experiments and Longitudinal Study. The aim is to promote a better
understanding of each of the two research methods. This study also compares and
contrast the two methods and study advantages and disadvantages of each one.
INTRODUCTION
A research method refers to a way of conducting and executing a research.
Researchers frequently use a single or a combination of methods in their studies. The
two methods, that is, the Longitudinal study and the Field experiments have different
methodologies. A Longitudinal study involves studying a sample or a subject
repeatedly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most crucial demerit of Field experiment is the ethical issue pertaining it. Since
the subjects are often unaware of the fact that they are observed for an experiment,
the morality of field experiments is always questionable. The second disadvantage is
that in field experiments random variables may adulterate the results since its very
difficult to control external factors in natural settings. Also if the subjects may get
aware of the study being conducted they may change their behaviour thus invalidating
the results. Field experiments may be very hard to replicate since environment and
subjects may differ at different
The Beach Carrier Case

weaknesses? The Beach Carrier is a new type of beach bag that is designed to
assist the user in carrying everything they needed to go to the beach. It s easy
storage is its main advantage, as it can fold up for easy storage. The Beach Carrier
has many strengths and weaknesses; however, it seems to offer more strengths.
Strengths The bags ability to fold down and become more compact is its major
selling point Having the size and capacity to carry everything one needs for a day at

How can Ricci protect her product design? 4.What are the pros and cons of the
mail ordering market strategy? What are the pros and cons of alternative
distribution methods? The biggest benefit that the mail order marketing strategy
will yield to Ricci is that she gets to choose when and where the Beach Carrier is
offered for sale. With this feature she can choose who distributes her product as
well. The next big pro for the mail order strategy is that she will receive immediate
feedback on the effectiveness of the system. If after the first wave goes out there is
a lag in sales, she may need to think of a new method to market/sell her product. A
major disadvantage to the mail order system is that oftentimes a small picture in a
catalog is not an effective representation of the product itself and could turn people
off to potentially purchasing the Beach Carrier. Another con to this system is that
Ricci may not be reaching enough of the target consumers through her system. Her
target demographic, women, would not necessarily be reached by a Boating
magazine. Also, advertising through a magazine is a very ineffective way to reach a
large market because it is very unlikely that many potential customers are subscribed
to that
Characters In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Characters are important to the story because they put a deeper meaning into a
story. This is true for Orwell s book animal farm he makes the animals and the other
characters represent people during the Russian revolution. Mr. Jones himself
represents Czar Nicholas 2 of the Russian revolution. Overall, Mr. Jones had the
most influence on the story out of all the animals on Animal Farm because he
influenced the animals to rebel which is the main thing that leads to everything else
in the story and he represents one of the main people in the russian revolution. Mr.
Jones caused the story to happen the way that it did and he helps portray the deeper
meaning of the story which makes him have the most influence on the story. He

While he was at Red Lion Inn he was a stupid, desperate, vengeful, daring,
mocking, confused, guy that got overtaken by animals. After the Battle of the
Cowshed, he was just a poor, hopeless, discouraged, fearful, gloomy, hateful,
accepting guy that lost his farm. At the end, he was a poor, hopeless, discouraged,
fearful, gloomy, hateful, accepting farmer that lost his farm and moved to a
different site. With Mr. Jones going through many changes it makes you think of
him as an important character, but just how important and what would the story
have been like without him? As the Animals stated, At last they could stand it no
longer (Owell, Pg 6) this shows that the animals could not take how they were
getting treated, with context with paragraphs 8 and 9 on page 6 you notice how
Mr. Jones was not feeding them and just never there. This is import because if he
didn t do that they may not have rebelled. Also as referenced by Old Major in his
speech, We are given just so much food as will keep the breath in our bodies and
those of us who are capable of it are forced to work to the last atom of our strength,
and the very instant that our usefulness has come to an end we are slaughtered
with hideous cruelty ... Nearly the whole of the produce of our labour is stolen
from us by human beings ( Orwell, Pg, 2 4 ) if Mr. Jones didn t do these things the
animals may not have rebelled or even have the ideas of
Use Of Diction In Emily Dickinson s Poetry
Death is inevitable. Everyone dies, yet it is a tragedy many have trouble enduring.
A reality difficult to accept, death cannot be escaped. Known for her unabashed
obsession with the end of life, Emily Dickinson s poetry included items entitled I
heard a Fly buzz when I died and I felt a Funeral, in my Brain. Deathis a prevailing
theme recognized in her poetry. Emily Dickinsons acceptance of death is
unmistakeable in her poem Because I could not stop for Death through the use of
diction, personification, and metaphors. The simplicity of the diction used by the
speaker is consistent with her familiarity with Death. Diction is comprised of two
factors: vocabulary and syntax. Dickinson primarily employs elementary vocabulary
throughout... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These interruptions are a representation of the often unexpected instance of death.
Unlike a period, which implies an end without continuation, a dash is simply a pause.
The dashes in the poem move it forward, rather than stop it. They are suggestive of
death as an insignificant blip in time, and as the sentence continues, so life continues.
Furthermore, the repetition of these dashes reinforces the idea of death as a natural
recurrence. The vocabulary mentioned earlier also contributes to the personification
of Death. For example, Dickinson inserts words like kindly and civility in her
characterization of Death. These unconventional descriptions of an abstract idea both
personify Death and strengthen the view of death as a normal and natural event.
Dickinson s first lines, Because I could not stop for
Death / He kindly stopped for me, provide a clear example of Death s
personification, as Death is conspicuously referenced with the pronoun he. Death is
just as much a physical presence in the poem as the speaker; he is a passenger, if not
the driver, accompanying the speaker in the carriage. The casual manner with which
the speaker interacts with Death is a demonstration of Dickinson s unperturbed
demeanor in death s
Pam Taylor Essay
Pam Taylor is a fascinating person. She started out in a small home deep in the
suburbs of Melbourne, with a dream to become a ballet dancer. She met her future
husband at the age of 17, then married a short time later. She hated school, and went
only because of her friends. She has lived in different places, from London to
Germany. She loves teaching, and clothing.
Pam was raised in Melbourne. Her favourite thing to do was to play cops and
robbers with her three brothers, two sisters and other children in the street. She
decided that when she grew up, she would be a ballet dancer, but her family could not
afford lessons. A television was what she deeply wanted, yet the family did not
have enough money for one. But one day her dad came home and said, I have
rented a TV for the holidays. . She was shocked, but also very excited.

young when I got married, only 21. She said the time when she met Roy was the

The next stage in Pam s life was going to university. She decided to do the teaching
course because she had hated school so much, and wanted to be a teacher she
would have wanted. This was no light endeavour. It is a three year program. She
decided to become a prep teacher, which required another 2 year course. It was very
stressful. When I was a student teacher at a school I was judged quite harshly, and
sometimes this was heartbreaking. After all that training, she got her first job as a
prep teacher at Coburg State School.
She remembers the day the first man landed on the moon. Every single year gathered
in the assembly hall, and looked at the tiny TV screen at the front. Then a small
student accidently unplugged the cable connected to the TV, just seconds before it
happened. Luckily, Pam quickly re plugged it in, just in

Roman Art Essay. PPT - Greek and Roman Art PowerPoint Presentation, free download - ID ...

  • 1. Roman Art Essay Crafting an essay on Roman art presents both an intriguing challenge and an opportunity for intellectual exploration. The task involves delving into a rich tapestry of history, culture, and artistic expression that spans centuries. However, navigating the vast array of artistic movements, periods, and individual artists within the Roman context requires a meticulous approach. To begin, one must grapple with the sheer breadth of Roman art, ranging from the monumental architecture of the Colosseum and the Pantheon to the intricate details of mosaics, frescoes, and sculptures. Understanding the social, political, and religious contexts that shaped these artistic endeavors adds another layer of complexity. A successful essay on Roman art demands a thorough examination of the various influences – Greek, Etruscan, and indigenous Roman elements – that converged to create a unique artistic identity. Moreover, the challenge lies in weaving together a narrative that not only chronicles the evolution of Roman art but also analyzes its significance. Addressing questions about the functions of art in Roman society, the role of patronage, and the ways in which artistic styles evolved over time requires a nuanced and comprehensive exploration. The need for extensive research and the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources adds to the difficulty. Scholars must consult archaeological findings, historical texts, and art historical analyses to construct a well-rounded and insightful essay. Furthermore, critical thinking is crucial to evaluate conflicting interpretations and form an independent perspective on the subject matter. The intricacies of discussing specific artistic movements, such as the Hellenistic influence on Roman sculpture or the shift from Republican to Imperial art, demand a keen eye for detail. Analyzing individual masterpieces, understanding their symbolism, and placing them within the broader cultural and political context requires both time and expertise. In conclusion, crafting a compelling essay on Roman art entails navigating a labyrinth of historical and artistic intricacies. It requires a dedication to meticulous research, critical thinking, and the ability to synthesize information cohesively. Despite the challenges, the process of exploring the depth and diversity of Roman art offers a rewarding intellectual journey for those willing to embark on it. And for those seeking assistance in unraveling the complexities of such topics, professional help is available. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where expert writers can provide guidance and support in navigating the intricacies of art history and related subjects. Upgrading For Sql Server 2008 Upgrade Plan For Dbas Tutorials DBA Dev BI Career Categories Events Whitepapers Today s Tip Join SQL Server 2008 Upgrade Plan for DBAs By: Jeremy Kadlec | Read Comments (2) | Related Tips: More Upgrades and Migrations Problem At our organization we are in the planning stages of upgrading to SQL Server 2008. What are some of the key considerations as we plan to upgrade? How much time should be spent on planning? Who should do the planning? As a DBA, what are the technical aspects I should research? What is the best way to manage the project? Solution Upgrading to SQL Server 2008 will require significant planning at many organizations. This could be one of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One key item that I want to mention again is figuring out which users are involved in the upgrade. Be sure to get them involved early and often as you continue the project. Project Scope Here is critical step that I think is missed all too often. Some people call it figuring out how big the bread box is while others assume they know it. In my opinion scoping and managing a project does not need to be a rigid process, but it is important. At this phase in the project try to understand the following: Why does the business or department want to upgrade to SQL Server 2008? What SQL Server are in scope? What applications access the SQL Servers? What users leverage the applications? What are the user operating hours? Who are the points of contactmanagement for the users? What automated processes leverage the SQL Servers? What third party applications, controls, plug ins, etc are needed? What are the upstream and downstream applications? Who are the key IT team members? When does the project need to be completed? Which management members are supporting the project? Which budgets are paying for the project? Have the budgets been finalized or is management waiting for estimates? As a DBA, do a quick sanity check here and make sure all looks correct. If you are not comfortable with the findings, run a tool like Profiler to determine if any users, applications, processes, etc are not being taken into consideration. One

  • 4. Evaluation Of A Microcontroller Based Three Phase... Career Episode 1 Introduction This career episode is the creation of my thesis during my final year in engineering. The project is called Microcontroller Based Three Phase Induction Motor Controls . This is a partial fulfillment for my bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering at Mindanao University of Science and Technology. This project commenced on June 2011 and ended on March 2012. I was under the supervision of Engr. Reuel C. Pallugna, one of the instructors in the Electrical Engineering department. Background CE 1.1 My main objective was to create a speed and forward reverse control for an induction motor that can be programmed and can be accessed using the computer in the cheapest but efficient way. My project is composed of electrical and electronic components. The brain of the prototype comes from the program of a microcontroller. Most of the assembly of the electrical and electronic components and the creation of the program are done in the electrical laboratory. Economy is an important factor in my study. One of its advantages over the commercially available variable frequency drive (VFD) is it is more economical and can be programmed based on the user s preference without sacrificing accuracy and efficiency. CE 1.2 It took me 9 months to complete my prototype. Every month, my thesis adviser checked and tracked the progress of my project. I did the research and the creation of my prototype during weekdays and I did the technical writing of my thesis during
  • 5. Metacognition Essay Example Metacognition Essay I feel I have come a long way my tenth grade year. My writing has gotten so much better and I can write essays of much better quality now. Things have gotten better like punctuation, thesis, and analysis. To begin with, my punctuation has gotten a lot better. I made a lot of errors during the beginning of the year and I am starting to make a lot less. Also, my thesis statements have gotten tremendously better. At the beginning of the year they were really boring. As the year began to progress, the statements got more interesting and creative. My analysis throughout essays have gotten better. I am much better now at determining things like theme, tone, and finding many literary devices. I can also set up my essays... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another one of my major flaws is having the incorrect point of view. I need to make sure I go over an essay a couple times because I normally add incorrect point of view the first time. During the second semester, I had a favorite and least favorite project. My favorite was the song presentation. It was something I really enjoyed because I love music and being able to do a project on something I love is so much fun. I enjoyed it because I got to find literary devices, establish tone and theme, and find parts in the song to back up my claims. I really enjoy finding literary devices, whether it s in a song or poetry, and it is one of my favorite things to do in English. I also liked finding the tone and theme. The theme is always fun to find because there are normally so many possibilities and you get to try to find one that fits the best. The project that I liked the least was the persuasive outline. I didn t have a problem with it as I was doing the project, and I actually found it rather interesting, but I had to present it in front of the class. Presenting things in front of the class is my least favorite thing to do. I enjoy most of the projects up until the point where I step in front of the class. I think I have earned and A or a B this semester. I know most of the material and I that feel I can use it appropriately. After all of the essays and projects this year I feel that I have gained so much knowledge in English and I think

From the four Gospels through Revelations we are reminded that it Jesus Christ is the one that was prophesied to come by the Old Testament Prophets and long awaited by the Jewish civilization as the Messiah. Within each book of the New Testament, from the historical books and especially in the Pauline Epistles, the importance of faith, obedience and knowledge of who JesusChrist is, His purpose and the legacy of salvation that His death and resurrection is consistently repeated. • 7. The Problem Of Social Media In the wake of the recent attacks in Paris and increasing manmade and natural disasters around the world, the ability to communicate with citizens during times of crisis is more important than ever. It is no longer appropriate to limit the output of emergency information to the traditional delivery methods. Social media use continues to grow at a staggering pace. As of January 2014, 74% of online adults use social networking sites (Pew Research Center, n.d.). The large percentage adults who utilize social networks daily makes their use by government agencies essential. It is no longer acceptable for Dane County Emergency Management not have a social media presence. With our current messaging system and strategies, we are being unheard by a large portion of our county s population. This is particularly true with young adults who reside in our county, as their primary source of information is through social media. By continuing our trend of no social media use, our county is putting lives at risk in times of emergencies, when rapid, accurate information dispersal is of the utmost importance. The strengths of social media use are well documented. No longer can officials within the county label its rise in usage as a trend. One of the most powerful attributes of social media is its ability to be accessed with a mobile device. In regards to emergency management, this is very beneficial, as most citizens will likely not be monitoring a T.V. or radio station when a

So often, the old adage, History always repeats itself, rings true due to a failure to truly confront the past, especially when the memory of a period of time sparks profoundly negative emotions ranging from anguish to anger. However, danger lies in failing to recognize history or in the inability to reconcile the mistakes of the past. In her novel, Beloved, Toni Morrisonexplores the relationship between the past, presentand future. However, she admits that the past seems to always be there waiting, thereby emphasizing the idea that past horrors of life continue to haunt forever. It appears as though the power of her experience in slavery influences her so greatly that the memory triggers great pain, causing the horrifying incidents to happen again. Even though Sethe understands that she cannot ever fully escape her history as it will come back to trouble her, she still tries to avoid them and thus attempts to shield her daughter from the horrors of history: As for Denver, the job Sethe had of keeping her from the past that was still waiting for her was all that mattered (45). It seems as though Sethe tries to deny the fact that history does not simply disappear. She still tries to protect Denver from the past even though history waits, prepared to cause trouble and inflict the pain Sethe tries to repress. It appears as though Sethe continuously tries to fight against her memories and ignore her past in part one. For example, after she wakes, she begins Working dough. Working, working dough. Nothing better than that to start the day s
  • 9. Water Fowl Hunting Research Paper Across the United States of America, water fowl hunting is one of the most popular hunting sports that occurs every year during the autumn and winter seasons. Hunters spread out over wide range of areas across the United States to take a shot at geese, ducks, and other well known game birds. Water fowl huntingcan be done in crop fields or on a river. When a shot goes up over half the shots taken pellets are falling towards a field or wet land area. Concerns have been made and laws and regulations against Lead Shots are being adjusted. The new laws and regulations are requiring water fowl hunters who use traditional lead shot ammunition are now to use steel shots when water fowl hunting. (White) Lead Ammunition has been the traditional form of ammunition for over many decades now. Many hunters have been using lead ammunition since the early 1960 s. Ammunition manufactures started creating shot gun shells that are made of red plastic and contain over a minimum of twenty or more lead pellets in each shell. Some shells very in different sizes and contain different amounts of lead pellets for different hunting uses. These shells were made to have a high killing power when hunting waterfowl. Such a tiny lead pellet has become a very big ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Steel shot ammunition pellets weigh less than a steel pellet does. They have a less kill power than a lead pellet. They come in the same shot gun shells as lead does but they have more pellets inside giving them a stronger force. Just like the lead pellet shells they vary in different shell sizes for different hunting uses. Steel shells give a cleaner shot that will help the game bird bleed more freely without getting the pellet stuck inside its body. The most important part about this substitution is the steel pellets are eliminating lead poisoning from
  • 10. The True Tragic Hero of Antigone What makes a hero? In our society, a hero is thought of as a tall man who wears a cape and has super powers, but to the Greeks, it was very different. In every Greek tragedy, there is the tragic hero, defined by Aristotle as a character who is an extraordinary person, with both good and bad qualities. Although the character reaches a level of insight, a tragic flaw, such as hamartia, leads to their failure in the end. A perfect example of this can be found in Sophoclestrilogy, The Theban Plays which follows the struggling city of Thebes and the efforts of its rulers to escape their misfortune. Antigone, the third play is an excellent example of this. As the title is Antigone, one would assume that she is the tragic hero, or heroine, but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He serves the law without wavering, but he neglects the needs and wants of the Thebans. When Creon is informed the people of Thebes disagree with his decision regarding Antigone, he responds: The people of Thebes! / Since when do I take my orders from the people of Thebes? (Antigone 146). This shows his inability to accept any way but his and his apathy regarding others. The contrast in his traits of determination and indifference makes Creon a combination of good and bad. Creon s tragic flaw is hamartia, or error in judgement. This error drives him to refuse Polynices his burial rights and to sentence Antigone to death. As king, Creon believes no one can tell him what he should or should not do, but he ignores the fact that not even a king has power against the gods. Creon lives only by the laws of the city, while Antigone, and the rest of Thebes live by the more powerful laws of the gods. Leaving Polynices to be eaten by dogs and vultures is not only disrespectful, it is a crime against the laws of heaven, and Creon pays dearly for his crime. When Creon is visited by the blind seer Teiresias, he realizes he has made a mistake. Yet despite threats from Antigone and his son Haemon, Creon continues with his original intentions until Teiresias declares: Ere the chariot of the sun Has rounded once or twice this wheeling way, You shall have given a son of your own loins To death, in payment for death two debts to pay:

The Role of Government and Personal Freedoms Essay When the leaders of the American Revolution began their journey of independence, they revolted against the increasingly totalitarian monarchy of King George III. Representatives from across the colonies met numerous times to discuss the intrusive and burdensome policies implemented by the British Government, and to unify their efforts to have the governmentaddress their grievances. After numerous overtures were spurned by the British Government, the colonial leadership embarked on a path of overt defiance against a government which they believed no longer held the right to govern. In this struggle the founders of the United Statesanswered the important generational question, Should we consent to be governed? Their answer concerning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While a small of amount of incidental injustice is tolerable in any form of government, it is important that government should contain an ideological focus on maintaining the maximum number of negative rights among individuals within the state fairly and equally. Whenever the state systemically undermines the rights of a large segment of the population, people have the right to protest against any laws or institutional structures which perpetuates injustice. Although protesting and disobedience to laws are morally justifiable, the scope in which people are allowed to rebel against government must be proportional to the injustice committed. Martin Luther King Jr. s Letter from a Birmingham Jail provides a useful framework to explain under what condition a law is unjust and should be disobeyed. In his letter, King Jr. argues that an unjust law is, any law that degrades human personality . . . is a code that a numerical or power majority group compels a minority group to obey but does not make binding on itself . . . [or] a law [that] is just on its face and unjust in its application (King Jr.). By utilizing King Jr. s criteria, people can determine if the preconditions exist for the consent to be governed. Another important condition that a government must ensure in order to receive consent to be government is its adherence to the protection of third party interests to fully protect the rights and freedoms of individuals from

The theme of the song can be found in several lyric such as, Well, I ve been afraid of changin, cause I ve built my life around you (Fleetwood Mac). It is said that if a couple thinks that their relationship is not going to work out, it can tumble over at any time. The effects of shouting out and going for help may seem like a good idea, but it will just bring down the avalanche right on top of the situation and collapse everything in. In his famous novel, 1984, George Orwell writes about the different lifestyles and effects of the social class on the population of the world the book is set in. In this society the upper class, known as the inner party , closely patrols and monitors the thoughts and actions of its citizen in their world of Oceania. Winston Smith, the protagonist member of the middle classknown as the outer party challenges these leaders with his free and mindful thoughts that go against the party and disrupt their system. Winston feels the lower class, the proles are the only real humans in their society and he undermines the party s rules and laws in an attempt to escape their grasp. First of all, the upper class mindfully controls and supervises the below classes while, at the same time, occupies several advantages and privileges in their personal lives. Secondly, the middle class takes advantage of the Lows while wishing they had the life of the High despite their many benefits. Furthermore, the proles at the bottom are seen as the most inhumane and unimportant of the society while experiencing many hardships and disadvantages in life. Therefore, while the upper class enjoys its many benefits and power, the middle class has a great amount of aid but wants more and uses the Lows to get it, and the lower class suffers from poor treatment and

  • 17. Essay on Buck s Dilemma Solution 1 Classification with the Statement of Cash Flows Buck should present the borrowing and payment activity as a cash flow from financing activities. ASC 230 10 45 14 states that proceeds from issuing bonds, mortgages, notes, and from other short or long term borrowing are a cash inflow from financing activities. Similarly, ASC 23010 45 15 states that repayments of amounts borrowed are a cash outflow for financing activities. Solution 2 Gross versus net presentation Scenario 1 Net presentation is appropriate. Buck may classify the activity as a $50 million net cash inflow ($100 million in total draws less the $50 million repayment) within the financing activities section of the statement of cash flows. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Buck s activities related to both of the draws in Scenario 2 once again reflect some of the characteristics within the cash flow statement guidance. The transactions can be considered large in relation to the maximum borrowing capacity, and the volume of activity is assumed to be large (note, in practice, these determinations typically involve judgment and are dependent upon individual facts and circumstances). Unlike Scenario 1, the terms of the draws do not consider the draws to be due on demand to Buck s bank. Rather, the first draw has an original maturity of six months, and the second draw has an original maturity of three months or less. Therefore, in accordance with ASC 230 10 45 9, Buck must present the activity related to the first draw on a gross basis because the original maturity is greater than three months. In turn, net presentation is appropriate for the second draw since it has an original maturity of three months or less. Scenario 3 Buck should present all borrowing and payment activity under the Facility on a gross basis within the financing activities section of the statement of cash flows. The draws on the Facility do not have any specific repayment provisions other than the overall expiration date of the Facility as of December 31, 2012. While the activity does have some of the factors needed to consider net presentation, including large dollar amounts in relation to the maximum borrowing capacity and large

Unlike the 50 s and 60 s where women played minor roles as housewives, the 70 s presented a new kind of role for females: single moms. In The Partridge Family, the band s manager was the closest father figure the five children had. In Ben Kate, Ben is the father figure of his niece Maddie. How these characters fulfil their father figure duties are similar as well. In the Partridge Family, the children spend most of the time with their mom and Reuben Kincaid, the manager of the band. From one perspective, the play depicts Caliban as a tragic native, enslaved and abused by an invading European despite showing them devotion and kindness. From these specific moments in the text, Shakespeare depicts Caliban as a kind, noble hearted creature who used to be free but was enslaved by Prospero, despite his initial kindness and affection towards him. However, this perspective requires the omission of various critical pieces of evidence, which, when considered, force the reader to conclude that Caliban is truly a barbaric native that abused the care and parental like mentorship offered to him by Prospero and now suffers a well deserved punishment. Caliban himself describes how well Prospero treated him upon his arrival at the island. Prospero gave him water with berries in t, taught him how to name the bigger light and how the less, and strok st [him] and made much of [him] (Tempest, 1.2.332 339). After the copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate was heated the hydrate loss 35.16% of water. The hydrate should have loss 36.08% of water after it was heated. The anhydrous calcium chloride became hydrated after it gained .64% of water. As a result of the loss of 35.16% of water from the copper sulfate pentahydrate, the anhydrous calcium chloride should have gained a higher percent of water from the atmosphere than .64%. Evaluation: The percent error in the experiment was 2.61%. The percent is low because most of the water in the crystals had been driven off. A lower percent error could have occurred if the CuSO4 * 5H2O was heated more. Suggested Improvements: When the lab experiment was conducted, the copper sulfate pentahydrate was placed inside the casserole. If the casserole was heated before the hydrate was place in it, then the water that might have been in the casserole prior to the sample being added would not be included in the hydrate. Since the casserole was not heated, the result may have been of a higher mass of water being loss. Another improvement that could be made to this experiment, could be increasing the sample size to an average

Machiavelli and the Use of Antiquity in The Prince and The Discourses The Renaissance was a time of classical revival and a turning point from the Middle Ages to the Early Modern period in the course of history. Ancient texts and artifacts became sources of inspiration for intellectuals and artists alike, and the desire to emulate or even surpass the achievements of the past prompted them to study antiquities closely and saw them as models and guidance. People were consciously distinguishing themselves from the medieval thoughts and using history to make something new for their own era. In the field of political philosophy there s no exception. Niccolo Machiavelli is perhaps the most representative and groundbreaking figure of this trend in political philosophy. With his erudition in ancient literature, histories and political thoughts, Machiavelli draws various sources from antiquity to critic and response to the political environment of histime. While one may find seemingly discrepancies in The Prince and The Discourse on the First Ten Books of Tius Livy, the use of histories as guide to demonstrate or propose ideal rules is apparent in both works. We should note that synthesizing ancient philosophy or thoughts with contemporary thoughts is nothing new. Thomas Aquinas, for example, reconciled Aristotelianism and Christianity in his work Summa Theologica, using ancient antiquity to back up his Christian beliefs. What is so noteworthy in Machiavelli is his emphasis and

According to Feng shui, all structures have to be laid out carefully along compass lines and in certain configurations to allow ki (Chinese chi ), the mystic energy of life to flow properly. A reduced ki flow in a home was thought to cause sickness and disharmony. For example, the builders, after consulting with a Yin yang diviner, would usually create special arrangements to prevent bad ki from entering the home from the northwest. In the first Japanese garden design manual, the Sakuteiki, it is explained how water courses should flow from the northwest to the southeast so that any bad ki could be cleansed by the protective deity of the east Kamogawa (blue dragon), then proceed west again passing under a veranda of the house so as to draw away any evil spirits that might have somehow slipped into the house. Heavy stones were thought to serve as gates or landing points for spirits and were thus placed very carefully. Other design rules applied as well. Business, Sustainability And The Natural Environment Business, Sustainability and the Natural Environment, Daniel Katz During the past 25 years, awareness of the environment has increased tremendously. Non profit organizations look beyond institutional goals, and instead, try to find a shared vision that works for everyone in the society. Our society needs to stop consuming as if we have an infinite planet; we have to have integrity for the world we live in because the natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever. Companies need to evolve with the modern age and changing consumer market. For example, Netflix never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with the changing consumer market, they have done just that. Also, NGO s sometimes have to partner with bigger for profit companies in order to target a larger consumer base, thus, solidifying the fact that the for profit and non profit sector have to team together in order to sustain the environment in which we inhabit. Business, Sustainability and Poverty, Jacqueline Novogratz This plenary begins by stating that a financial crisis occurs when people in the markets do not trust each other. Trust is what makes a society fair. Corruption flourishes upon weaknesses in economic, political, and social institutions, and this diverts economic growth by eroding the quality of public goods. In this age, income equality has increased across countries due to globalization and technology; however, income inequality within countries has increased as

As stated in the beginning, once an individual has had a foot or an ankle injury it is 73.5 percent chance that it can reoccur (Lynam, L.). A big help to prevent such injury is as simple as warming up and stretching your ankle and foot before heavy activities. This will help stretch the muscles and the tendons in the ankle. Other simple prevention mechanism includes wearing the right shoes when out doing physical activities, wearing an ankle brace if the ankle or foot has been injured already in the past, paying close attention to your surroundings, and to pay attention to warning signs if the individual is getting tired. It is important to teach the patient that once the area is injured they need to rest, ice and elevate their foot for correct care. Once again, teach them how to prevent it

This paper will argue that whilst some steps have been taken to ensure equity in education for all, there is still a long way to go before Australia can provide a truly inclusive educational experience for all participants. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Needs according to Thomas 3 Vaughan (2004, p. 19), can be seen as a bottomless pit of problems. Roaf and Bines (cited in Thomas Vaughan, 2004, p. 16), suggest that rights and opportunities are a more effective way of describing the educational needs of all learners, whether special or not. Placing the onus on students to make themselves fit the education mould will never lead to successful outcomes for everyone, nor does it encourage a cohesive and inclusive society, therefore deficit based approaches are not acceptable. The second explanation is the systemic approach which places responsibility on the system for poor learning outcomes. The process of trying to include people by normalising them is a product of ideologies which aim to contribute to the labour market (Preece, 2001, p. 213). People who are believed to have no perceived economic value are disregarded instead of value being attributed to their own individual identities and experiences (p. 213). McIntyre, Volkoff, Egg, Solomon (2004, p.18) suggests that equity is a highly variable concept, dependant upon the systems that support the state and in order to achieve equity the ideologies underpinning society need to be examined. These ideologies are reflected in the institutions that provide education and are often not conducive to inclusivity. Considine, et al, (2005) describe

He argues that it has helped many people for the many people that it hurt before and that it can help even more if people learn to utilize it well. He believes that parents highest priority with their kids is to prevent them growing up into violent thugs, but modern kids are more likely to grow up too passive, distrustful of themselves, and too easily manipulated. With this feature she can choose who distributes her product as well. The next big pro for the mail order strategy is that she will receive immediate feedback on the effectiveness of the system. If after the first wave goes out there is a lag in sales, she may need to think of a new method to market/sell her product. Furthermore, the repetition of these dashes reinforces the idea of death as a natural recurrence. The vocabulary mentioned earlier also contributes to the personification of Death. For example, Dickinson inserts words like kindly and civility in her characterization of Death. These unconventional descriptions of an abstract idea both personify Death and strengthen the view of death as a normal and natural event. Dickinson s first lines, Because I could not stop for Death / He kindly stopped for me, provide a clear example of Death s personification, as Death is conspicuously referenced with the pronoun he.
