Three, a 3-year old Goldendoodle, presented with diarrhea, anorexia, depression, and a high fever of over 106.1 degrees. Initial bloodwork showed low platelets, white blood cells, and mild anemia. Radiographs and ultrasound found no foreign materials. Urine tests ruled out Leptospirosis. Tests later confirmed Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever through positive titers. The dog was treated with intravenous fluids, antibiotics, and recovered fully. RMSF is caused by a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks, so precautions against ticks are important for pets and owners.
