There was one-way communication and employees had to follow the
instructions.
An authoritarian leader exhibits close control over the workforce and
motivates individuals through application of strictly enforced rules,
regulations and penalties.
His word is final and employees are not expected to question the
direction they have been given
Monetary benefits were given to the employees and money was used
as a motivator.
The employer expected compliance results and greater performance
from the employees.

Collegial Model
The collegial model is based around teamwork –
everybody working as colleagues.
Collegial refers to a highly co-operative set of people
working together.
All the members of a team should have an equal level of
motivation and sense of responsibility towards their
duties.
9. Needs Of The Organisation

There was need for achievement. The
organization was goal-oriented. They focused
on results i.e. high sales to get the credit.
There was need for affiliation. They always
wanted to be in good books of others. They
also wanted to be in a team and go along with
them. They seek cooperation over competition.
They were willing to adhere to the norms and
group decisions as they believed unity in the
group is important.
