PROJECT On:
SUMMARY:
Rocket Singh- salesman of the year is the
sometime thoughtless, sometimes
thoughtful story of fresh graduate trying to
find a balance between the maddening
demands of the ‘professional’ way, and the
way of his heart and stumbling upon a crazy
way which turn upside down, and his carrier
right side up.
 Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) , a Sikh
B.Com graduate with approximately 39 percent
marks who becomes a salesman with a big corporate
computer assembly and service company, AYS. His
idealistic vision of the working world shatters
quickly. Within a few days, a client asks for a KICK
 BACK.

take risk, we are just
humans”.
FOCUS ON 3S’S:

SUPPORTS ARE THREE
PILLARS OF SUCCESSFUL
BUSINESS.”
LEARN FROM CLIENTS:

“Don’t SELL to client
what you
have, ARRANGE
everything what
client needs.”
NEVER EVER GIVE
UP!!!!

“Never LOSE hope. Continue
to Struggle, there will be Lots
of SMALL Gains & BIG Losses
on the way ,but DON’T miss
Lessons from Rocket Singh
Lesson 1: Work closely with the best in the
industry to understand business and
quickly do a SWOT analysis .It helps.

Harpeet singh is ready to make Mishraji
(peon) a partner for his skills and
aspirations and not for his qualification.
Lesson 2: Recruit for talent and aspiration and
not for fancy degrees and communication skills.
Talented people will remain committed to the
company and work efficiently.

Harpeet singh welcomes his immediate boss with
long side locks as his partner for his experience.
Also fighting with him would have made the
situation worse.
Lesson 3: Don’t under estimate experience just
because you have a brilliant idea and have got
some quick success. Instead of fighting with
competent people, make them your associates.
Lesson 4: Make your work environment safe and
respectful for everyone from day one.

Harpeet singh refuses to change his vendor when a
big order comes as he is the person who helped
him in startup and trusted him.
Lesson 5: Building trust is the most difficult part of
business. If you are able to develop it, nourish it. Do
not grow alone. Let your partners and vendors also
grow with you.

Harpeet singh gives guarantee of service 24X7 and is
even ready to sell his scooter if things go wrong.
Lesson 7: Every person in an organization should be
given respect.

The process of empowerment brings out the best in
employees. So the Receptionist at AYS becomes the
Customer Relations Executive at Rocket, while the
chai-walla becomes a computer assembler. As soon
as the chai-walla begins to be called Mr.
Srivastava, he learns a new state of self-respect and
worth.
Lesson 6: Serve your customers as per their need
and not as per your convenience. Put your 100% to
your business. Always be ready to take risk and
guard your partners. A true leader always stands
by his associates and is not afraid of failures.

Harpeet singh sells off his dream to save his
partners when things go wrong.
Lesson 8 Believe in your people. They makes a
organization great & successful & matter end of the
 day.

A hostile takeover of a smaller company on the strength
of a ‘cheque’ book by the owner of AYS makes it
generally difficult to assimilate into successful
organization. A friendly win-win situation needs to be
created for all parties. Furthermore, cultural
assimilation is the most important factor for two
organizations to merge. The culture of corruption and
bribery at AYS could not merge with Rocket’s culture of
integrity, hard work and honesty.
Lesson 9: Most important lesson: Take risk.
