Road accidents are a serious problem in Bangladesh, causing over 3,000 fatalities and 3,700 injuries annually based on official statistics, though the actual numbers are estimated to be much higher. Head-on collisions account for 39% of accidents, followed by loss of control at 34%. Common causes of accidents include distracted driving from cell phone use or arguments, speeding, drunk driving, and running red lights. Accidents result in damage to vehicles as well as tangible costs like medical and repair expenses and intangible costs like pain, suffering, disability, and death. Solutions include improving driver education, enhancing road conditions, and conducting public safety campaigns.
As we know in India road accidents plays very brutal role everyday, India lost a healthy people everyday because of silly mistakes which will not considerable. If government of India and People conscious about all road safety and improvement in traffic rules and awareness in people about road safety, we will save a valuable life's.

Road safety in bangladesh realities and challengesPolicy Adda
The presentation of a comprehensive research on road safety issues presented by Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive Director, PPRC, also a former adviser to Caretaker Government.
It reveals that five districts, namely Dhaka, Chittagong, Comilla, Tangail and Sirajganj of the country are most prone to road accident. It also reveals that 38 per cent traffic accidents involve buses, which is more than any other kinds of vehicles involved in such incidents.
The research report titled 'Road safety in Bangladesh: Realities and Challenges' was launched at an event on August 13 Wednesday at The Daily Star auditorium in the capital, organised by non-governmental organisation BRAC and Power and Participation Research Center, PPRC in short. PPRC carried out the research commissioned by BRAC. Honourable communication minister Obaidul Quader attended as the chief guest.
The launch of the report was organised on the day of the third death anniversary of noted filmmaker Tareque Masud and eminent journalist Mishuk Munier, who, along with three others, were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Manikganj Highway in 2011.
The research reveals important data and information, presenting a comprehensive scenario of the country's road safety reality. According to the analysis of the report, Most road accidents occur in a length of 57 kilometres, distributed in different stretches in different highways.
Findings of the research also challenge the popular perception that road accidents usually happen in isolated areas of highways and show that more accidents occur in the congested and busy portions ─ 40.90 per cent happen at or around bus stands, followed by 28.40 per cent accidents happening at the roadside village markets. Among different types of vehicles, bus has proved most fatal, causing 38 per cent road crashes.
WHO has identified traffic accidents as the eighth cause for unnatural death with over 1.2 million annual deaths. The research also reports reckless driving as the most frequent cause of road accidents, while lack of adequate training, unfit vehicles, problems in road structure, weak implementation of traffic law and impunity of the perpetrators remain other important causes.

Road safety and accident prevention in IndiaRohit Sharma
Road accidents are a human tragedy. They involve high human suffering and monetary costs in terms of untimely deaths, injuries and loss of potential income. Although we have undertaken many initiatives and are implementing various road safety improvement program the overall situation as revealed by data is far from satisfactory. During the calendar year 2010, there were close to 5 lakh road accidents in India, which resulted in more than 1.3 lakh persons. These numbers translate intone road accident every minute, and one road accident death every 4 minutes. Unfortunately, more than half the victims are in the economically active age group of 25-65 years. The loss of the main bread winner can be catastrophic.
Road traffic accidents are amenable to remedial action. Many a countries have curbed the menace of road accidents by
adopting a multipronged approach to road safety that encompasses broad range of measures, such as, traffic management, design and quality of road infrastructure, application of intelligent transport system, safer vehicles, law enforcement, effective and quick accident response and care etc. The Government alone cannot tackle road safety problems. There is a need for active involvement of all stake- holders to promote policy reform and implementation of road safety measures.
Addressing road safety is comprehensive manner underscores the need to involve multiple agencies and sectors like health, transport and police. The present study provides the magnitude and various dimensions of road accident in India. The analysis on road accidents in this study will help to create awareness, guidelines and assist in informed decision making on road safety.

Road Traffic Injuries
Cause considerable economic losses to individuals, their families, and
to nations as a whole
Losses arise from the cost of
treatment
Lost productivity for those killed or disabled by
their injuries, and for family members who need to
take time off work or school to care for the injured
Road traffic crashes cost most countries 3% of their gross domestic
product.

Road Traffic Injuries
Some reductions were observed in 48 middle- and high-income countries
Overall, the number of deaths increased in 104 countries during this period.
Between 2013 and 2016, no reductions in the number of road traffic deaths
were observed in any low-income country

At Risk Groups
More than half of global traffic deaths
are amongst pedestrians, cyclists, and
motorcyclists
Often still neglected in road traffic system design in
many countries
Road traffic injury death rates highest in the African region
People from lower socioeconomic
backgrounds more likely to be involved
in road traffic crashes
Even in high-income countries
At Risk Groups
◦ Males more likely to be involved in road traffic crashes
than females
◦ About three quarters (73%) of all road traffic deaths
occur among young males under the age of 25 years
◦ Almost 3 times as likely to be killed in a road traffic crash versus
young females
Risk Factors -
Speeding
◦ Increases in average speed directly related both to the
likelihood of a crash occurring and to severity of the
consequences of the crash
◦ Every 1% increase in mean speed produces a 4%
increase in the fatal crash risk and a 3% increase in
the serious crash risk
◦ Death risk for pedestrians hit by front of car rises
rapidly (4.5 times from 31 mph to 40 mph)
◦ In car-to-car side impacts, the fatality risk for car
occupants is 85% at 40 mph
Risk Factors – Alcohol and Drugs
◦ Driving under the influence of alcohol and any psychoactive drug increases the risk of a crash resulting in
death or serious injuries
◦ Risk of a road traffic crash starts at low levels of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and increa.

Although Bangladesh is one of the lowest motorised countries in the world, it has, however, the worst road fatality rates in world. The estimated number of road traffic accident fatalities per 10,000 on road motor vehicle for Bangladesh is very high by international standards, as the fatality rates for motorized countries is usually less than 2 (2 in the United States of America and 1.4 in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
Over 37,000 people die in road crashes in the U.S. each year, with an additional 2.35 million suffering injuries and disabilities. Negligence is at the root of many auto accidents. Find out the leading causes of auto accidents.

Road accidents have become a common feature of our everyday lives. We find them in the news every day, including the recent deaths of filmmaker Tareque Masud and journalist Mishuk Munier and politician Saifur Rahman some time ago. Statistics reveal that it is high in the northern region compared to other parts of the country and road safety in general has been deteriorating with an increasing number of road accidents and deaths resulting from them, largely as a direct consequence of rapid population growth, modernisation, urbanisation and lack of investment in road safety and lack of initiatives to prevent traffic accidents.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

accidents dominating the others. This is followed by Lost Control 34%,
Rear end 16%, Hit object on/off road 7%. These four accidents types
accounted for 96% of the total accidents. Hit object on/off road type of
accident represents the highest rate of about 5.0 fatalities and 23.5 injuries
per accident.
14. Education
• Improving a training in driving school.
• Giving more information about road safety
to everyone.
15. Improving Road Conditions
Government should pay more attention to the
road surface and lighting at night.
The authorities should put signs at strategic
locations to warn drivers.
