This document summarizes a study by the Cologne Institute of Economic Research on facilitators and barriers to vocational training and employment of people with disabilities. The study found that the main motivations for companies to train people with disabilities were social commitment, positive experiences with trainees, and filling training places. However, companies also reported barriers like additional supervision needs, high sick leave, and lack of information and support. The study recommends establishing central points of contact for information and support to help more companies offer training opportunities to people with disabilities.
