This document outlines various risks that could occur during the filming of a music video and preventions for each. Key risks include equipment like cameras and lighting breaking down or running out of battery/charge. This could prevent necessary footage from being captured. Other risks include bad weather interfering with outdoor shooting, props or actors not showing up as planned. Preventive measures include having backup equipment, extensive communication with actors, and alternative indoor shooting plans.
2. RISK) Camera running out of charge or battery
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) If this happens we will be unable to film all of the
necessary footage we need for our music video, thus leading to another day
filming or an unfinished music video
PREVENTION) As this is a likely risk that may occur as we require a tremendous
amount of footage for our music video. To prevent or overcome this risk, we will
bring a spare charger and also a spare memory card and battery, to ensure we
can film all of the footage. Therefore, we will be prepared in case this does
happen.
3. RISK) Actor not showing up to filming
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) As we are using an actor from outside of our
media coursework group, the actor may not turn up or be able to make
the shooting time.
PREVENTION) To prevent this from happening, there will be a lot of
communication taking place between the media group and actor. This
will ensure that we are able to make the time as well as the actor. Also
we have back up actors for the worst case scenarios.
4. RISK) WEATHER
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) As some of our filming will take place
outside, extreme or severe weather may result in us being unable to
shoot our music video.
PREVENTION) We will carry out extensive weather research to make
sure the day and times we have decided to film will not rain or have
extreme weather. If it does happen then we will dedicate that
shooting time to parts of the music video that are not outside.
5. RISK) PROPS BREAKING
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) For example, if the roulette table breaks, as this
is a significant prop in our music video, it is essential that it does not
break.
PREVENTION) We will have substitute props to use, for example cards or
poker.
6. RISK) FILMING EQUIPMENT BREAKING
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) As we will be using cameras, tripods,
backdrop, lighting equipment, there is a possibility that it may
break.
PREVENTION) Therefore, we will be extremely careful and
cautious with the equipment, by making sure there are no
hazards surrounding it. We will also bring spare equipment
incase anything does break, thus we will have spare readily
available equipment.
7. RISK) NOT FINISHING FILMING IN TIME
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) As our music video will consist of vast amount of
shots and locations, this will take an extremely long time to film.
PREVENTION) Due to our extensive research carried out in the group, and
a lot of preparation and careful consideration with our shooting schedule,
we hope to meet all set deadlines with ease.
8. RISK) MIS-COMMUNICATION
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) This may lead to not being able to shoot when
we need too and also not being able to hire the essential equipment from
school when we need to shoot the music video,
PREVENTION) We will make sure there is sufficient communication
between MBD and the actors so there is no confusion about filming times
etc.
9. RISK) THE LIGHTING EQUIPMENT BREAKS
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) It could prevent us from filming as
this is an essential piece of equipment, especially for the
performance aspect of our music video as the emotions
may not be fully conveyed.
PREVENTION) We will be extremely careful with this
equipment and remove any hazards.
10. RISK) MEMORY ON SD CARD RUNS OUT
WHAT WILL THIS CAUSE) This is essential as we need to have enough memory in
order for us to capture all of the footage we need.
PREVENTION) Therefore we will delete any unnecessary footage already on the SD
card and we will also bring a spare SD card when we film.
