This document discusses A-SPEC, a Trans-Tasman collaboration program that develops standard data specifications for recording asset information. It focuses on receiving consistent asset data from developers and capital works programs and using GIS technology to visualize and validate the data. Over 10 years, A-SPEC has expanded to include specifications for various asset types and now has participation from over 15 Australian and New Zealand councils and industry partners. It aims to improve asset management practices through data sharing and collaboration across organizations.
