This document summarizes a mini project to design a 3D fitness equipment for sedentary workers. The objectives are to encourage exercise and prevent work-related injuries. Research included exploring existing problems through secondary sources. The proposed design aims to motivate behavior change through a simple and effective product. Future work could develop the concept into a final product to benefit sedentary workers suffering from work-related pain.

2. INTRODUCTION
Sedentary workers are a group that does
repetitive movements with the upper body for
several hours in a row, that results in an
increasing risk for pain and injuries. They are
often aware of doing movements but do not have
the motivation or knowledge. 3D training is a
training form that only a few persons in Sweden is
educated in. In 3D training, you do movements in
three planes and involve the whole body.
3. Design, durability, usability and compactness are the
most important construction standards in the
production of fitness equipment.
Whether it is the manufacture of specific
equipment for gyms, or smaller, multifunctional
exercise machines for domestic spaces, tubes are
the fundamental building blocks. This is why tube
processing technologies, such as bending and laser
cutting, are so widely used in this sector.
4. OBJECTIVES
• The objective of this project is to design a product that can encourage
sedentary workers to use 3D training in a simple and effective way.
• The aim is to motivate people to change their behaviour by using this product
• To prevent injuries that are work related .
5. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Used Secondary Source of data for the study .
Secondary data refers to data that is collected by someone other than the primary user.
Common sources of secondary data for social science include censuses, information
collected by government departments, organizational records and data that was
originally collected for other research purposes
Done Exploratory RESEARCH
• A Research used to investigate a problem which is not clearly defined .
• It is conducted to have a better understanding of the existing problem .
8. FUTURE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
The project is conducted as a master thesis of one student during Spring 2017. It
considers as a full-time work of 20 weeks and 30 Swedish university credits. 3D
training is used by all fitness levels and ages, but to make a direction in this work I
have chosen to focus on sedentary workers. This group consists of people suffering
from work-related pain. The group is the largest amount of people that visits a
personal trainer to get better physically, this is a group where 3D training can make
big difference. The final result will be a concept where the focus is on the function
and design, not exactly on how it should be produced as a final product.
