5. STATUTORY INSPECTION SURVEYS
Lifting Equipment Engineers will mobilise to conduct 6/12
Monthly surveys of your platform. This will include:
Inspection of all loose/fixed lifting equipment on site.
Statutory Documentation Review :
All items are to have associated documentation
including NDT reports, Load Test Certification or a
Declaration of Conformity and previous reports of
Thorough Examination.
Conduct NDT and Proof Load Test non conforming
equipment when required.
On completion, Issue SI2307 register and full Survey
Report. A draft copy is to be left with the platform
maintenance staff or OIE/OIM.

6. LOLER AUDIT
Our Audit team will review your current lifting
operations giving you “peace of mind” ensuring
you are conforming to the latest health and safety
legislation.
We will work with you to ensure compliance with
LOLER SI2307 requirements.
We will work with you to meet the legislative
aspects of the HSE Technical Guidance
Document for safe use of lifting equipment
offshore reference HSG221 and the requirements
of SI3242 (MHSAW) Management of Health
and Safety at Work regulations.
The audit will cover all aspects of your lifting
operations including Safety Management
Systems, Controls, Processes and Procedures.

7. PROOF LOAD TEST
We have the capability to carry out proof load
tests on a wide range of equipment, from a
sling or shackle to a barge crane.
Padeyes can be Proof Load Tested to 50 Ton
using a specialist test rig and hydraulic rams.
Depending on project requirements we will load
test your equipment using calibrated test
weights and/or water weights.
For larger projects proprietary test rigs and
spreader beams will be used to distribute to
proof load.

8. CARGO CARRYING UNITS
Cargo Carrying Units (CCU,s) are utilized by the
majority of companies who operate offshore. They
are designed to one of three specifications:

We can provide experienced personnel who will
inspect and certify your containers, tool boxes and
baskets.
We can also provide a load out compliance inspection
team, on call.
We can also provide Cargo Carrying Units and
associated lifting sets that meet IMO requirements.

9. CRANE SURVEY SERVICES
Our survey team members have extensive
crane survey experience, and are all certified
Surveyors / Lifting Equipment Engineers.
Our engineers are well versed with the
requirements of API , BS and DNV design
specification and requirements.
Our engineers can act as third party witness,
in line with class requirements. Our engineers
can also supervise maintenance tasks such as
wire rope change outs , re-terminations,
repairs and modifications. We can also assist
with procurement and commissioning.
Should you require heavy lift consultancy and
engineering support, our teams are available
to assist on either a short or long term basis.

10. LIFTING EQUIPMENT : MATERIALS SOLUTIONS
We are able to provide a large range of items
such as loose lifting equipment, man riding
winches, gantry cranes and lifeboat davits. We
also have close ties with crane manufacturers
in Europe and Asia. We can also provide cable
laid wire rope and heavy mooring equipment.
We provide fully stocked rigging lofts on
request. The package includes bespoke rigging
containers designed to DNV 2,7-1 or EN12079
that comes with workbench, heavy duty
shelving units and storage racks.
Our Rigging Lofts are to be built to order with all
equipment dispatched from Asia/EU. We also
have express dispatch options from Crosby
Europe and Asia.

11. ADDITIONAL SERVICES: DROPS SURVEY SERVICES
At RusselSmith we believe that safety comes
before all else. The key is implementing
preventative measures so that RISK can be
eliminated or reduced as much as possible.
Safety measure are commonly put in place as a
result of an action. Where safety is concerned,
we need to ensure we implement precautions
before incidents happen and not after when its
to late.
Our team of DROPS surveyors and consultants
are extremely experienced engineers with the
technical knowledge that allows them to spot
hazards, rectify the problems and submit
recommendations with regards to improving the
way we work, in order to reduce DROPS risk.

12. ADDITIONAL SERVICES: OCTG / BHA INSPECTION
We have OCTG / BHA Inspection teams available in
Nigeria and Ghana. Teams are mobile and can carry
out inspections on the rig site or at the clients yard.
Tools are inspected to APIRP7, DS-1(CAT1-CAT5),
NS1/NS-2, or any client specific standard.
Full Length EMI Inspection of Drill Pipe, Wall
Thickness Survey : Compression Wave UT, ID and
OD checks and API drifting.
Thread Inspection, Dimensional Inspection, Wet
Fluorescent MPI of Crossovers, Subs, Stabilizers and
Reamers etc.
Inspection of specialist equipment such as MWD,
LWD and Fishing tools.
High pressure cleaning/blasting is also available.

13. ADDITIONAL SERVICES: TPI VENDOR INSPECTION
QA/QC DOCUMENTATION AUDIT , EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
Our team of Vendor Inspectors are grouped by technical
expertise, we recruit engineers who have experience in
areas such as subsea services, well intervention, well
testing and well control. All have a solid foundation in
Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Our engineers are available on call to witness, verify and
audit the technical specification, statutory certification,
testing, operational capabilities and maintenance history
of equipment, to ensure they are to specification and
meet contractual requirements and that they are Fit For
Service.
This may include Well Control Equipment, Well Test
Equipment, Specialist Running Tools, Oil and Gas
Manifolds, Seperators, Pressure Vessels and Safety
Valves (SSV)
On completion the client is provided with a full inspection,
test and documentation audit report.(Example available
