Revit is building information modeling (BIM) software developed by Autodesk for architects, engineers, and contractors. It allows users to design buildings in 3D, annotate models, and access building information. Revit was originally created by Charles River Software in 1997 and was later acquired by Autodesk in 2002. There are three main versions: Revit Architecture, Structure, and MEP, each targeted towards different disciplines. Revit uses parametric modeling which allows elements to be controlled by parameters and automatically updates the model based on changes.
