This document reviews a proposed secure image transmission technique involving transforming a secret image into a "secret-fragment-visible mosaic image" that resembles a target image. The technique divides the secret image into fragments, transforms their color characteristics to match corresponding blocks in the target image, and embeds recovery information using data hiding. This allows nearly lossless recovery of the secret image from the mosaic image. The proposed method creates useful mosaic images and allows secret images to be transmitted as mosaic images of different sizes camouflaging the secret. Color transformations and an embedding scheme support lossless secret image recovery from the mosaic. The technique aims to allow users to freely select the target image, unlike prior work requiring images from a database.
