This paper presents a binarization method for camera based natural scene (NS) images based on edge
analysis and morphological dilation. Image is converted to grey scale image and edge detection is carried
out using canny edge detection. The edge image is dilated using morphological dilation and analyzed to
remove edges corresponding to non-text regions. The image is binarized using mean and standard
deviation of edge pixels. Post processing of resulting images is done to fill gaps and to smooth text strokes.
The algorithm is tested on a variety of NS images captured using a digital camera under variable
resolutions, lightening conditions having text of different fonts, styles and backgrounds. The results are
compared with other standard techniques. The method is fast and works well for camera based natural

COLOUR BASED IMAGE SEGMENTATION USING HYBRID KMEANS WITH WATERSHED SEGMENTATIONIAEME Publication
Image processing, arbitrarily manipulating an image to achieve an aesthetic standard or to support a preferred reality. The objective of segmentation is partitioning an image into distinct regions containing each pixels with similar attributes. Image segmentation can be done using thresholding, color space segmentation, k-means clustering.
Segmentation is the low-level operation concerned with partitioning images by determining disjoint and homogeneous regions or, equivalently, by finding edges or boundaries. The homogeneous regions, or the edges, are supposed to correspond, actual objects, or parts of them, within the images. Thus, in a large number of applications in image processing and computer vision, segmentation plays a fundamental role as the first step before applying to images higher-level operations such as recognition, semantic interpretation, and representation. Until very recently, attention has been focused on segmentation of gray-level images since these have been the only kind of visual information that acquisition devices were able to take the computer resources to handle. Nowadays, color image has definitely displaced monochromatic information and computation power is no longer a limitation in processing large volumes of data. In this paper proposed hybrid k-means with watershed segmentation algorithm is used segment the images. Filtering techniques is used as noise filtration method to improve the results and PSNR, MSE performance parameters has been calculated and shows the level of accuracy

In cross spectral matching, one of the keys for successful matching is determined by the features used for representing an image. Therefore, the feature extraction step becomes an essential task. Researchers have improved matching accuracy by developing robust features. This paper presents most commonly selected features used in cross spectral matching. This survey covers basic concepts of cross spectral matching, visual and thermal features extraction, and state of the art descriptors. In the end, this paper provides a description of better feature selection methods in cross spectral matching.
A Novel Feature Extraction Scheme for Medical X-Ray ImagesIJERA Editor
X-ray images are gray scale images with almost the same textural characteristic. Conventional texture or color
features cannot be used for appropriate categorization in medical x-ray image archives. This paper presents a
novel combination of methods like GLCM, LBP and HOG for extracting distinctive invariant features from Xray
images belonging to IRMA (Image Retrieval in Medical applications) database that can be used to perform
reliable matching between different views of an object or scene. GLCM represents the distributions of the
intensities and the information about relative positions of neighboring pixels of an image. The LBP features are
invariant to image scale and rotation, change in 3D viewpoint, addition of noise, and change in illumination A
HOG feature vector represents local shape of an object, having edge information at plural cells. These features
have been exploited in different algorithms for automatic classification of medical X-ray images. Excellent
experimental results obtained in true problems of rotation invariance, particular rotation angle, demonstrate that
good discrimination can be achieved with the occurrence statistics of simple rotation invariant local binary
patterns.

ABSTRACT- Digital images can be easily modified using powerful image editing software. Determining whether a manipulation is innocent of sharpening from those which are malicious, such as removing or adding parts to an image is the topic of this paper. In this paper we focus on detection of a special type of forgery-the Copy-Move forgery, in this part of the original image is copied moved to desired location in the same image and pasted. The proposed method compress images using DWT (discrete wavelet transform) and divided into blocks and choose blocks than perform feature vector calculation and lexicographical sorting and duplicated blocks are identified after sorting. This method is good at some manipulation/attack likes scaling, rotation, Gaussian noise, smoothing, JPEG compression etc.

Development of stereo matching algorithm based on sum of absolute RGB color d...IJECEIAES
This article presents local-based stereo matching algorithm which comprises a devel- opment of an algorithm using block matching and two edge preserving filters in the framework. Fundamentally, the matching process consists of several stages which will produce the disparity or depth map. The problem and most challenging work for matching process is to get an accurate corresponding point between two images. Hence, this article proposes an algorithm for stereo matching using improved Sum of Absolute RGB Differences (SAD), gradient matching and edge preserving filters. It is Bilateral Filter (BF) to surge up the accuracy. The SAD and gradient matching will be implemented at the first stage to get the preliminary corresponding result, then the BF works as an edge-preserving filter to remove the noise from the first stage. The second BF is used at the last stage to improve final disparity map and increase the object boundaries. The experimental analysis and validation are using the Middlebury standard benchmarking evaluation system. Based on the results, the proposed work is capable to increase the accuracy and to preserve the object edges. To make the proposed work more reliable with current available methods, the quantitative measurement has been made to compare with other existing methods and it shows the proposed work in this article perform much better.

A New Method for Indoor-outdoor Image Classification Using Color Correlated T...CSCJournals
In this paper a new method for indoor-outdoor image classification is presented; where the concept of Color Correlated Temperature is used to extract distinguishing features between the two classes. In this process, using Hue color component, each image is segmented into different color channels and color correlated temperature is calculated for each channel. These values are then incorporated to build the image feature vector. Besides color temperature values, the feature vector also holds information about the color formation of the image. In the classification phase, KNN classifier is used to classify images as indoor or outdoor. Two different datasets are used for test purposes; a collection of images gathered from the internet and a second dataset built by frame extraction from different video sequences from one video capturing device. High classification rate, compared to other state of the art methods shows the ability of the proposed method for indoor-outdoor image classification.

Segmentation by Fusion of Self-Adaptive SFCM Cluster in Multi-Color Space Com...CSCJournals
This paper proposes a new, simple, and efficient segmentation approach that could find diverse applications in pattern recognition as well as in computer vision, particularly in color image segmentation. First, we choose the best segmentation components among six different color spaces. Then, Histogram and SFCM techniques are applied for initialization of segmentation. Finally, we fuse the segmentation results and merge similar regions. Extensive experiments have been taken on Berkeley image database by using the proposed algorithm. The results show that, compared with some classical segmentation algorithms, such as Mean-Shift, FCR and CTM, etc, our method could yield reasonably good or better image partitioning, which illustrates practical value of the method.
Image enhancement technique plays vital role in improving the quality of the image. Enhancement
technique basically enhances the foreground information and retains the background and improve the
overall contrast of an image. In some case the background of an image hides the structural information of
an image. This paper proposes an algorithm which enhances the foreground image and the background
part separately and stretch the contrast of an image at inter-object level and intra-object level and then
combines it to an enhanced image. The results are compared with various classical methods using image

In this project, we proposed a Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system which is used to retrieve a
relevant image from an outsized database. Textile images showed the way for the development of CBIR. It
establishes the efficient combination of color, shape and texture features. Here the textile image is given as
dataset. The images in database are loaded. The resultant image is given as input to feature extraction
technique which is transformation of input image into a set of features such as color, texture and shape.
The texture feature of an image is taken out by using Gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM). The color
feature of an image is obtained by HSI color space. The shape feature of an image is extorted by sobel
technique. These algorithms are used to calculate the similarity between extracted features. These features
are combined effectively so that the retrieval accuracy and recall rate is enhanced. The classification
techniques such as Support Vector Machine (SVM) are used to classify the features of a query image by
splitting the group such as color, shape and texture. Finally, the relevant images are retrieved from a large
database and hence the efficiency of an image is plotted. The software used is MATLAB 7.10 (matrix

Content Based Image Retrieval Approach Based on Top-Hat Transform And Modifie...cscpconf
In this paper a robust approach is proposed for content based image retrieval (CBIR) using texture analysis techniques. The proposed approach includes three main steps. In the first one, shape detection is done based on Top-Hat transform to detect and crop object part of the image. Second step is included a texture feature representation algorithm using color local binary patterns (CLBP) and local variance features. Finally, to retrieve mostly closing matching images to the query, log likelihood ratio is used. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using Corel and Simplicity image sets and it compared by some of other well-known approaches in terms of precision and recall which shows the superiority of the proposed approach. Low noise sensitivity, rotation invariant, shift invariant, gray scale invariant and low computational complexity are some of other advantages.
An Analysis and Comparison of Quality Index Using Clustering Techniques for S...CSCJournals
In this paper, the proposed approach consists of mainly three important steps: preprocessing, gridding and segmentation of micro array images. Initially, the microarray image is preprocessed using filtering and morphological operators and it is given for gridding to fit a grid on the images using hill-climbing algorithm. Subsequently, the segmentation is carried out using the fuzzy c-means clustering. Initially the enhanced fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm (EFCMC) is implemented to effectively clustering the image whether the image may be affected by the noises or not. Then, the EFCM method was employed the real microarray images and noisy microarray images in order to investigate the efficiency of the segmentation. Finally, the segmentation efficiency of the proposed approach was compared with the various algorithms in terms of quality index and the obtained results ensures that the performance efficiency of the proposed algorithm was improved in term of quality index rather than other algorithms.

The development of multimedia system technology in Content based Image Retrieval (CBIR) System is
one in every of the outstanding area to retrieve the images from an oversized collection of database. The feature
vectors of the query image are compared with feature vectors of the database images to get matching images. It is
much observed that anyone algorithm isn't beneficial in extracting all differing kinds of natural images. Thus an
intensive analysis of certain color, texture and shape extraction techniques are allotted to spot an efficient CBIR
technique that suits for a selected sort of images. The Extraction of an image includes feature description and
feature extraction. During this paper, we tend to projected Color Layout Descriptor (CLD), grey Level Co-
Occurrences Matrix (GLCM), Marker-Controlled Watershed Segmentation feature extraction technique that
extract the matching image based on the similarity of Color, Texture and shape within the database. For
performance analysis, the image retrieval timing results of the projected technique is calculated and compared
with every of the individual feature.
This project is to retrieve the similar geographic images from the dataset based on the features extracted.
Retrieval is the process of collecting the relevant images from the dataset which contains more number of
images. Initially the preprocessing step is performed in order to remove noise occurred in input image with
the help of Gaussian filter. As the second step, Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM), Scale Invariant
Feature Transform (SIFT), and Moment Invariant Feature algorithms are implemented to extract the
features from the images. After this process, the relevant geographic images are retrieved from the dataset
by using Euclidean distance. In this, the dataset consists of totally 40 images. From that the images which
are all related to the input image are retrieved by using Euclidean distance. The approach of SIFT is to
perform reliable recognition, it is important that the feature extracted from the training image be
detectable even under changes in image scale, noise and illumination. The GLCM calculates how often a
pixel with gray level value occurs. While the focus is on image retrieval, our project is effectively used in
the applications such as detection and classification.
Automatic rectification of perspective distortion from a single image using p...ijcsa
Perspective distortion occurs due to the perspective projection of 3D scene on a 2D surface. Correcting the distortion of a single image without losing any desired information is one of the challenging task in the field of Computer Vision. We consider the problem of estimating perspective distortion from a single still image of an unstructured environment and to make perspective correction which is both quantitatively accurate as well as visually pleasing. Corners are detected based on the orientation of the image. A method based on plane homography and transformation is used to make perspective correction. The algorithm infers frontier information directly from the images, without any reference objects or prior knowledge of the camera parameters. The frontiers are detected using geometric context based segmentation. The goal of this paper is to present a framework providing fully automatic and fast perspective correction.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

ABSTRACT
This paper deals with enhancement of images and background detection using Mathematical Morphological
[MM] theory on dark images. Due to poor lightening the background of the image is not clear. This image can be
enhanced by lightening the back ground with various morphological operations. Basically, Weber’s Law
Operator is used to analyze dark images which are carried out by two methods such as Image background
detection by block analysis while second operator utilize opening by reconstruction to define multi background
notion. Some Morphological operations such as (Erosion, Dilation, Compound operation such as Opening by
reconstruction, Erosion-Dilation method) and Block Analysis is used to detect the background of images.
Analysis of above mention methods illustrated through the processing of images with different dark background
images.

INTRODUCTION
In this Paper the concept is to detect the
background in images in poor lighting. Various
Mathematical Morphology [MM] is used to enhance
digital images with poor lighting condition.
Mathematical morphology approach is based on set
theoretic concepts of shape. In morphology, Objects
present in an image are treated as sets. There are
standard techniques like histogram equalization
histogram stretching for improving the poor contrast
of the degraded image. In the First method the
background images in poor lighting of grey level
images can identified by the use of morphological
operators. Lately image enhancement has been
carried out by the application based on Weber’s Law
[2]. Later on erosion, dilation, Opening (erosion
followed by dilation), closing (dilation followed by
erosion) and opening by reconstruction method is
followed. In this paper, firstly we give introduction
about various morphological operators and then we
apply them on a bad light image and extract the
background of that image and then improve contrast
of that image.[3]
1.1Morphology
Morphology is a technique of image
processing based on shapes. The value of each pixel
in the output image is based on a comparison of the
corresponding pixel in the input image with its
neighbours. By choosing the size and shape of the
neighbourhood, can construct a morphological
www.ijera.com
operation that is sensitive to specific shapes in the
input image. Mathematical morphology is a settheoretical approach to multi-dimensional digital
signal or image analysis, based on shape. It is a
theory and technique for the analysis and processing
of geometrical structures, based on set theory, lattice
theory, topology, and random functions. It is most
commonly applied to digital images, but it can be
employed as well on graphs, surface meshes, solids,
and many other spatial structures. It is also the
foundation of morphological image processing,
which consists of a set of operators that transform
images according to the above characterizations.
Mathematical morphology was originally developed
for binary images, and was later extended to scale
functions and images. The subsequent generalization
to complete lattices is widely accepted today as MM's
theoretical foundation.

PROPOSED WORK
In this proposed work, background of the Image
compute through two approximations using Matlab.
The first approximations is block analysis, while the
second proposal, is morphological operations.
2.1Background Detection by Block Analysis:
In this analysis, first of all we will read an
image as input image with poor lighting condition
having dimension (N X N) and divide it into several
blocks (say ‘n’ block length)and from each block we

will determine the background and apply the weber’s
law and thereby we obtain an enhanced image
fig. 2.1.1 Block diagram of Background Detection
by Block Analysis
For each analyzed block, maximum (Mi)
and minimum (mi) values are used to determine the
background criteria Ti in the following way:
www.ijera.com
Now an image is formed by applying the above
equation. Now consider a pixel in this image and the
corresponding pixel in original image. Combine them
using Weber’s law which can be stated as follows.
Thus an enhanced image is formed.
Weber’s Law:
Weber’s law defines contrast and introduces
the concept of Just-Noticeable difference [JND].
Weber’s law are more sensitive to light intensity
changes in low light levels than in strong ones. The
contrast sensitivity is approximately independent of
the background luminance. Relative changes in
luminance are important. Weber’s law tends to break
down for very dark and very bright luminance
levels[13]. In psycho-visual studies, the contrast C of
an object with luminance Lmax against its
surrounding luminance Lmin is defined as
follows[2][4].
Fig. 2.1.2. Background detection by Block Analys
Background image =
Fig.2.1.3 Weber’s law Analysis
Once τi is calculated, this value is used to select the
background parameter associated with the analyzed
block. As follows, an expression to enhance the
contrast is proposed:
Note that the background parameter depends
on the Ti value. If f<= τi (dark region), the
background parameter takes the value of the
maximum intensity(Mi) within the analyzed block,
and the minimum intensity(mi) value otherwise.
Also, the unit was added to the logarithm function in
above equation to avoid indetermination. On the
other hand, since grey level images are used in this
work, the constant Ki in above equation is obtained
as follows:
On the other hand, Mi. and mi values are
used as background parameters to improve the
contrast depending on the Ti value, due to the
background is different for clear and dark regions.
www.ijera.com
If L=Lmin and
as follows
so it can be written
In the above Equation
indicates that
is proportional to C. Therefore, Weber’s
law can be expressed as
Where k and b are constants, b being the
background. In this case, an approximation to
Weber’s law is considered by taking the luminance L
as the grey level intensity of a function (image); in
this way, above expression is written as follows

Morphological operations:
In a morphological operation, the value of
each pixel in the output image is based on a
comparison of the corresponding pixel in the input
image with its neighbors. By choosing the size and
shape of the neighborhood, you can construct a
morphological operation that is sensitive to specific
shapes in the input image. Dilation and erosion are
two fundamental morphological operations. Dilation
adds pixels to the boundaries of objects in an image,
while erosion removes pixels on object boundaries.
The number of pixels added or removed from the
objects in an image depends on the size and shape of
the structuring element used to process the image.
Erosion and Dilation can also be interpreted in terms
of whether a structuring element (SE) hits or fits an
image (region) as follows
For Dilation, The resulting image g(x, y), given an
input image f(x, y) and a SE will be
For all x and y,
For Erosion, The resulting image g(x, y), given an
input image f(x, y) and a SE will be

IMAGE BACKGROUND
DETERMINATION USING THE
OPENING BY RECONSTRUCTION
Opening by reconstruction is used to define
multi background notion. Opening by reconstruction
requires removing pixels of the foreground from an
image by specified structuring element. It illustrates
through morphological transformations which
generate new contours when the structuring element
is increased and not necessarily need to apply block
analysis and morphological erosion and dilation.
When morphological erosion or dilation are used
with large sizes of to reveal the background,
inappropriate values may be obtained. However, in
MM, there is other class of transformations that
allows the filtering of the image without generating
new components; these transformations are called
transformations by reconstruction. In our case, the
www.ijera.com
www.ijera.com
opening by reconstruction is our choice because
touches the regional minima and merges regional
maxima. This characteristic allows the modification
of the altitude of regional maxima when the size of
the structuring element increases. This effect can be
used to detect the background criteria τ(x) i.e.,
When considering the opening by reconstruction to
detect the background, one further operation is
necessary to detect the local information given by
the original function (image extremes are contained
in the opening by reconstruction because of its
behavior). The morphological transformation
proposed for this task is the erosion size , µ=1i.e.
Given that the morphological erosion tends
to generate new information when the structuring
element is enlarged, in this study, the image
background was computed by using only the
morphological erosion size 1.
Structuring Elements:
The structuring element
is the basic
neighborhood
structure
associated
with
morphological image operation. It is usually
represented as a small matrix, whose shape and size
impact the result of applying a certain morphological
operator to an image.
An essential part of the
dilation and erosion operations is the structuring
element used to probe the input image. A structuring
element is a matrix consisting of only 0's and 1's that
can have any arbitrary shape and size. The pixels
with values of 1 define the neighborhood.Twodimensional, or flat, structuring elements are
typically much smaller than the image being
processed. The center pixel of the structuring
element, called the origin, identifies the pixel of
interest -- the pixel being processed. The pixels in the
structuring element containing 1's define the
neighborhood of the structuring element. These
pixels are also considered in dilation or erosion
processing.
Three-dimensional, or non-flat,
structuring elements use 0's and 1's to define the
extent of the structuring element in the x- and yplanes and add height values to define the third
dimension.
Origin of a Structuring Element:
The morphological functions use this code
to get the coordinates of the origin of structuring
elements of any size and dimension. If μ=3 then
structuring element is considered as strel=2μ +1.
