(Business Unit ) – Global leader since 1865 in Nourishing People- One of
the largest Multinational Trading Company in the USA.
• Worked closely with different Business Units and trading desks to
serve as center of logistics expert for India and Overseas.
• Port logistics – logistics supply chain/ operations. Added value with
solutions to Logistics.
• Physical vessel attendance – this formed a very important role. Due
to large volumes traded, needed expertise in Cargo operations,
faster turnaround, physical vessel monitoring in/out of ports,
bottleneck identification.
• Monitoring and providing information on cargo flows in and out of
India, New port Regulations, restrictions, Tariffs, Liaison with port
/ Govt authorities for new policies on Import/ Export

analysis, lay time calculations, claims handling, liaison with P&I
Club and H&M surveyors, brokers, Renewal of insurance contracts,
appointing agents and scrutinizing and payment of the port
disbursements, briefing masters of all commercial matters
pertaining to the voyage, including the CP salient points. Arranging
bunkers etc.
• Fleet Personnel- Overall incharge- Involved in crew selection,
training, documentation, joining and signing off formalities etc.,
liasioning with ITF London, local unions (NUSI, MUI), MASSA,
Govt agencies (MMD, DGS etc.)
• Technical- Giving assistance to the technical superintendents as
and when required for supply of stores / spares. Preparing dry docks
specs. Attended dry-docking of vessels on regular basis. Inspection
