To: Recruiting Team
Don’t let my resume fool you: I know food inside and out, but I am more than just a grocery
store guy. I have always been on the lookout for the absolute best company to partner myself
with: For 6 years that partner had been Harris Teeter, the Mid-Atlantic's premier grocer and food
destination, and prior to this was Heinen’s, Inc., Cleveland’s upscale, family-owned food
destination. I am currently seeking that next-level company here in Colorado.
These organizations have a long history of quality and unparalleled service their areas, and I
consider myself proud to be a part of that history. But as much as I pride myself on the work I
have accomplished in my past, I have always longed for more. I’m no longer interested in being
a part of the best team in a certain region; I want to be a part of the best team, period. This, I
believe, is why I belong with you.
From my beginnings in the retail industry in high school up to and including my leadership status
of today, I have always striven to achieve. And I have yet to be disappointed. From my long
history of supporting and learning from my supervisors, strong ability to lead teams and
implement new programs, extensive product knowledge of art, design, and 'foodie' sensibilities,
top notch organizational and communicative skills, as well as all of the abilities required of a
modern retail professional, I believe myself and your organization to be a perfect fit. Not just
because of my desire to be the best, but because I continually push for everyone around me to be
the best.
I am available for interview at any time and can be reached at the phone number listed above. I
look forward to hearing from you, and I cannot wait to see what our combined presence does for
the people of Denver.

Store Manager. Duties include POS, customer service, order management, scheduling, keyholder
responsibilities, merchandising, inventory, special orders, training, device repair, discipline,
payroll, timekeeping, all receiving functions.
Placed at store without management for 9 months; sales have increased over last year 13%
during holiday season in a long established location (20 years), overall second best sales in
Denver/Boulder division. Several organizational and logistic changes have taken place under my
tutelage which should result in long term employee satisfaction, leading to customer satisfaction
and ease of ordering processes for all involved.
September 2015-November 2015: Spirit Halloween, Lakewood, CO
Store Manager. Duties include POS, customer service, scheduling, keyholder responsibilities,
stocking, merchandising, inventory, complete setup and takedown of a business, hiring, training,
discipline, payroll, timekeeping, audit compliance.
Joined at beginning of season of an established seasonal store and needed to get staffed, trained,
and merchandised quickly. Beginning of season saw a 5-10% increase in business over last year,
total season ended with 2.5% increase.
February 2014-September 2015: Safeway Stores, Inc. Golden, CO
Assistant Store Manager. Duties include POS, customer service, scheduling, daily/weekly
financial reconciliation, keyholder responsibilities, stocking, ordering, vendor management,

third of the district to above district and company average. Also able to help sales grow to a 9%
increase from a 2% increase over LY when I joined. Store is currently 2% up over last year with
a competitor who opened up less than 1 mile from store 6 months prior. Store sales are
$350,000/week.
Current focus is Grocery department: uniting the separate department elements (dairy, night
stock, day stock, frozen, gm/hbc, liquor, receiving, scan coordination) to work as one team,
improving order writer abilities, reducing shipments to store to reduce cost to bottom line,
promotion of high grossing/high velocity items within planogram framework, making changes to
scheduling to expedite processes and training/rewarding individuals with stronger skills that can
grow in their role and in the future.
October 2013-January 2014: Big Lots Stores, Inc. Wheat Ridge, CO
Assistant Store Manager. Duties include POS, customer service, cash handling duties, keyholder
responsibilities (opening/closing/armored car processing, till reconciliation),
stocking/merchandising, planogram implementation. Small variety of tasks and a poor working
environment made this an unfortunately short term position.
July 2013 - October2013: Lucky’s Market, Longmont, CO
Assistant Produce Manager for a new store in a small chain of natural markets catering to high
end foods and culinary culture. Assist in all aspects of new store opening including hiring,
ordering, schematic setups, training, billing, scheduling, inventory, and merchandising.

Began as Assistant Produce manager to moderate income store (department sales $48k/week),
quickly promoted to low volume store ($20k/week) to control rising waste issues. Reduced
waste from 9% of department sales to 2% within 7 months, sales increased 1%.
Promoted to corporate show store position, kept waste at even 5% and grew sales over 3 years
from $30k/week to $45k/week. Store became site for corporate meetings and annual holiday
showings to demonstrate merchandising to rest of company.
Promoted to highest volume department in division, sales at $125k/week. Waste kept steady at
3%. Skills utilized include: POS, customer service, inventory, merchandising, ordering,
scheduling, audit compliance, training and discipline of up to 25 people, and planogram
implementation. In addition, started training for store management under tutelage of decorated
store managers. Report to Store director.
2000 – 2007: Heinen’s Inc.

unique neighborhood concept store as receiver and production coordinator where all perishable
departments had production needs (trimming, crisping, food prep, hot and cold food production,
dishwashing, order writing) handled by a single team.
I assisted in coordinating all department needs via scheduling and training of qualified
individuals, quality control, ordering for all departments included, and enabling cross-department
team mentality in a heavily unionized and divided environment. Finished career with company
back in produce department to assist produce manager with new company initiatives in
merchandising and training being rolled out at store. Department sales grew from $26k to $38k
