Gender Wage Gap
The gender wage gap is not the only problem as also there is another right in which women are
arguing for and that is to legally have an abortion. Feminists would argue that they should have the
right to choose to whether they want to have an abortion. This reiterates that women still do not have
the rights that they feel like they deserve to have and that they should continue to protest and fight
until they do. Angela Breslin in her article A Wall of Legislative Obstacles in the Path of A Woman
Exercising Her Right To An Abortion: Planned Parenthood Arizona INC.V. Betlach argues how
Supreme Court Cases on abortion have gone against it therefore violating their rights. She talks about
the court cases on how they took away the right to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There have been recently scandals in which the famous men of Hollywood are being charged with
sexual assault or harassment and acting inappropriately around women. Women are suffering from
these problems especially in the workplace as of late and in a society in which values women more
there are still some that don t yet because they don t treat women with respect that they deserve. It
seems that some of these men are living in the past and want women for the sexual pleasure that they
are supposed to provide to men. Christina Pazzanese and Colleen Walsh in their article The Woman s
Revolt: Why now, and where to argues how the Me Too movement can spark changes to society as
more people become aware of these problems. Before the scandals in Hollywood not many people
took the problems of sexual assault and harassment to be much of a problem and therefore there would
be no change. This is why the women in the Me Too movement want more women to speak up on
these problems that they have been suffering from so that more people become aware of it. The article
provides a quote which is as follows, But, unless feminists (and the media, and the national audience)
start doing a better job of highlighting and listening to the voices of people who have been doubly
marginalized, such as women of color and those of lower socioeconomic status, there will be
important limits on what can be accomplished. Society cannot doubt what women say because society
downplays some of these accounts of sexual assault because they don t believe the woman is a victim.
They need to understand how hard it is for women to talk about this because it traumatizes them and
are sometimes stopped from saying anything by the men because there will be consequences. As soon
as people understand this then people will be susceptible to change because they know that it is

Deck Expansion Essay
How wide should you spread your deck? We aren t trying to break any records here, but we want to
achieve a decent sized span. For the spectators to believe they are seeing the entire deck, you must
stretch the spread the distance you would usually spread a deck if you were having an audience
member pick a card. Instead of using your fingers to help distribute the cards, let s use friction. The
key to expanding your reverse spread is regulated by how much you slide the cards across one
another. By simultaneously pulling your hands apart as you push and pull the cards during the action
of spreading, you regulate the friction that helps keep the cards together. Pull your hands apart too far,
and you will lose your grip and the cards will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whatever the purpose, from now on you must be conscious of how often, and in which direction, you
spread cards. If you have a card selected from a reversed spread but reveal it with a regular spread, for
example, suspicion might follow. The best course of action is to always reverse spread the deck when
having a card selected, returned, or revealed. This keeps everything uniform. However, if that notion
seems too overwhelming, below you ll find several viable alternatives that should satisfy your needs.
Fanning Cards By pivoting the entire deck around your thumb, you evenly distribute the cards in a
circular shape. It s a beautiful way to have a card selected, and does not expose the direction in which
the deck is spread. A cursory look on the internet should yield several different methods of fanning.
Some are more difficult than others, but any kind will work. Dribbling Cards One of my favorite ways
to have cards selected and returned is by dribbling them. Hold the deck from above by using the right
thumb on the short inner end, and second, third and little fingers at the outer end (End Grip). Curl your
right first finger on top of the deck. Starting from the face of the deck, allow cards to fall individually
by exerting and releasing pressure with your right thumb and second finger as you apply pressure with
your forefinger from the top. Your left hand waits underneath, catching the falling cards in its palm. As
the cards drop, have someone call stop. As soon as

Director Olivier Dahan decided to cast Marion Cotillard to play the iconic French singer because,
according to him, both ladies both have the same eyes. He had Marion in mind for this role before he
even started writing the script for the movie.
Number Fourteen: She Won an Oscar for a Non English Part

First it was the French dramas Chloé and Love Me if You Dare, which both have La Vie en Rose in
the soundtrack. In 2007, Cotillard impersonated Piaf herself in La Vie en Rose. Three years later, the
actress would also appear in Christopher Nolan s Inception, which counts with Piaf in its soundtrack.
Number Eleven: She Tried to Shrink Her Body to Resemble Piaf
Edith Piaf was 4 8 , far below Cotillard s 5 6 . The French actress wanted to resemble the legendary

Youdell (2012) argues that the singular and one off multicultural events reproduce majority/minority,
Same/Other relations in their display of minoritises cultures for the appreciation of or consumption by
the majority. (p 153) This essay will look into the argument of how the one off multicultural events
can be seen as racist, fostering social inequality and stereotyping cultures from political power. It will
also outline how educators with the right strategies and planning can foster valuable cultural
experiences and cultivate socio equality with their students and their school communities.

(Reynolds, 2012) The schools that are hosting these singular multicultural days do have intent to
inform students of diverse cultures, yet instead are accentuating the already existing social and cultural
hierarchies. (Gorski, 2008)
The way and how to teach multiculturalism in the classroom is a sensitive topic between the many
parties involved. Since multicultural education is primarily a set of beliefs and philosophies (Neito,
1994), it is a very powerful issue especially from socio political perspectives. Wright (2007) argues
that multiculturalism has no pre given destiny nationally or globally, but is continually being renewed
and re contested by political policy actors from their dominating point of view. The power of the
corporate elite demonstrates their need for social in equality through globalization, for the cheap labor
from the poorest countries that accelerate their economic growth. This cycle is what Chosudovsky
(2003) calls the Globalisation of Poverty .
The educational policies in place illustrate this globalisation of poverty when we look at the
legislations and those who write them. In the US, the educational policy is firmly under the thumbs of
these corporate elites in the form of the Business Roundtable, the public education system itself is
becoming a vehicle for socialising citizens into good compliance and complicity. (Chomsky, 2003;

During the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus between 285 246 B.C. the entirety of the Old Testament was
translated into Greek and became known as the Septuagint, many Jews were becoming fluent in Greek
at this time as opposed to their native language of Hebrew. Also writers of the New Testament quite
often referred to the Septuagint when quoting the Old Testament.
Palestine once again changed rulers when Ptolemy V was defeated in battle by the Syrians. This
occurred in 198 B.C. and thus began the Syrian period over a nation that had been divided by war.
Half the nation gave support to Ptolemies of Egypt and the other half to Syria and because of this
power struggles between the two sides occurred for many years. Palestine had been taken over by a
man named Antiochus and many deemed him Epimanes meaning mad man. Antiochus cared little
about Hellenistic religion but wanted to bring the kingdom together on a religious basis. He also
sought to control any offerings that came into the Jewish Temple and after this decree outlawed the
Sabbath and other religious festivities. Antiochus made it a capital offense to practice circumcision
and outlawed owning copies of the Old
4
Testament. This obviously angered and affected the Jewish community because they could no longer
practice rituals from their own religion. This was part of what drove many of them to eventually revolt
against Antiochus. The Jews

Royal Caribbean s Anthem Of The Seas
On February 2016, Royal Caribbean s Anthem of the Seas set sail off the East Coast of New Jersey
with more than 6,000 passengers and 1,500 crew member on board (Almasy, 2016). The passenger
ship sailed into a storm which threatened the lives and safety of everybody on board. According to
CNN and other new agencies, a lawsuit was filed in a Miami federal court alleging the captain s
negligence in sailing into a well publicized and forecasted storm. In another case, Royal Caribbean s
Explorer of the Seas was on a 10 day cruise in January when a fast moving bug left nearly 700
passengers and crew stricken with vomiting and diarrhea. The CDC reports that this is the highest
number of sick people reported on any cruise ship in two decades. Yet, in another report, the Eastern
Star went down during a storm killing more than 450 people. It s the deadliest boat disaster in China
in almost 70 years Cruise Line Safety: In the last 5 years approximately 1000 people have died on
cruise ships which ran aground or sank (Ahmed, 2016). Ironically, there are a lot of people who will
never get to experience of going on a cruise because of the fear driven by reports like the
aforementioned. In actuality, cruise vacations have a higher percentage of satisfied customers than any
other vacation experience. There are a number of compelling reasons why a cruise would be an ideal

Kevin Durant s Cheating
?KD Ruined the NBA? This happens to be an incredibly popular statement that I have seen being used
across social media. Many fans label Kevin Durant as a ?coward? or a ?snake? and claim that he
ruined the landscape of the NBA. Throughout this article I am going to be talking about my thoughts
on two differing perspectives: Kevin Durant couldn?t win so he left to win a guaranteed
championship, and this is exactly the same type of rivalry we have seen throughout the history of the
NBA. At the end, I will reveal my true personal opinion on the subject and my current thoughts about
the Warriors and this series going forward. The Snake Here is a fact. In 2016, Kevin Durant and

This has blossomed into a great rivalry and one that both organizations should be proud of. I am
favoring the Warriors currently in this matchup. Last year, they just simply had too much firepower for
the Cavaliers, even with Kyrie Irving. However, I?ve learned to NEVER count LeBron James out of
the equation. If the Cavaliers happen to lose this year, I do not believe we will see James returning
next season in a Cleveland jersey. If he ends up going to the 76ers, I am incredibly interested in how
they are going to make that work. Maybe James will work more on his spot up shooting? They have
two ball dominant forwards who are not spectacular shooters. Simmons would most likely play point
guard, but still lacks the necessary jumper to be able to space the floor. For the most part, Embiid also
needs the ball in his hands quite often to be efficient. It would also be interesting to see the long term
effects this may have on their talent off the bench. They may give up some playing time, but they
would also have the mentorship of one of the greatest players of all time on their

Ways To Get Rid Of Labeling People
One of the main questions is why people are judged for being overweight. It s not right for people to
make fun of them and something needs to be done about this. People are made fun of every single day
for being fat or overweight. I think that these people that do this do it to make themselves feel good. It
makes them feel good because they are different than the people they are making fun of. They are
skinnier than the other person so that makes them feel better than the other person therefore they think
they are better than them. Although they are not as good as them, they are bullying them and being
extremely rude. We can try to change this but I do not think there is a way to completely get rid of
labeling people. To try to change this I believe that if we just bring awareness to labeling people then
people may start to realize that it is wrong. While brining awareness to it, to try to get rid of labeling,
the main focus should be showing that being different is ok. By showing this maybe kids will realize
someway how they are different from other kids and they will recognize that labeling is wrong.
Hopefully they will stop it themselves, apologize to anybody they have bullied and join in to try to
stop bulling. There are many ways to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way is you can go defend the person yourself. If you go over you may be able to get the bully to
stop and leave. If you prefer not to go alone then grab an adult to go over with you and confront the

actions do not solve the problem then further actions need to solve this problem. By this I mean ISS
and OSS. The ISS and OSS are not permanent. Give them a few days until you can think of a solution
to get this kid to stop bullying people. This could lead to things such as therapy. Any way to stop
bullying is a good

Historical Context Women s history in the United States has always been represented as a struggle for
rights. Wealth and status were tied to either their fathers or husbands. In the early 1900s, women were
afforded the traditional roles of society. The majority of women worked in the home. If they were of
the 18% young or poor women, they also worked in factories as laborers, manufacturing items for the
booming industrial revolution (U.S. Department of Labor, 1980). During this time period the
workplace was not in compliance with current safety standards. There was no minimum wage yet,
work conditions were horrible and they worked long hours, In 1900, the average workweek in

However, she felt their approach was limited. [Her] political theory was founded on a single premise:
electoral survival determines political behavior. (Graham, 1983. Pg. 666) She did not believe state
amendment was the answer; it was a waste of time. Because of this ideology she separated from
NAWSA in 1914. Making this movement public was essential in ratification of the Constitution. Paul
organized women on all levels. She knew that selling the movement to the American people would
further the cause. Her first attempt was to campaign against all Democratic candidates. That did not do
much to the political party. She had to reformulate a plan. She organized a group of women to picket
the White House daily, except for Sundays, with banners of the President s own speeches written on
them. Papers often carried the stories of the suffragettes struggles. When World War I was declared,
that changed. Paul had many aligned supporters up until this point. In fact, many other organizations
understood the plight for equality. Picketing about democracy during a time of war was considered
treason by some and many just thought it was distasteful. Even NAWSA condemned the action.
(Graham, 1983) Paul s strategy of using Wilson s own quotes, reading his speeches to the passing
public, and then burning them, was starting to anger citizens. Despite the hostility against the NWP,
they made the papers. Many newspapers were

Positive Effects Of Diversification And Globalization In...
The Effects of Diversification and Globalization in the Bahamas Diversification and globalization are
important to the wellbeing and financial stability of any country. These traits are valuable to both
individual and group strengths. Understanding these modules can affect the way people or
corporations manage their business affairs. To understand the importance of both diversification and
globalization we must first understand their individual importance. Let s first look at diversification.

Governments have the power and authority to open markets to foreign investors; when this happens a
free trade agreement is reached. However an individual or corporation can decide at any time to
improve upon their own mechanics on a national or global level. With tourism and finance serving as
the two major industries within the Bahamas for multiple years we have not had to trade or forsake
much to propel these products to a higher level. Moreover a vast difference between globalization and
its cousin free trade is; globalization is technology driven and it is not affected directly by government
decisions. Herein lies the want versus need parody. Because a person wants to compete on a more
grand stage they then make the necessary improvements so that they can grandstand on a mainstream
platform. Whereas the need is forced upon them more for the good of the people versus one entity s
gain. Now that we have a bit more food for thought let us take a more in depth look at some of the key
factors and ways that diversity and globalization affects the Bahamas.
Diversification of industries
Tourism has been the staple of Bahamian income for a vast number of years. Every day we see more
and more companies emerging within these Bahama lands. Probably the best known hospitality
employer in the Bahamas is the Kerzner International Company. What makes this company a

Ethical Implications of Assisted Reproductive Technology...
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) is a measure used to treat infertility where both sperm and
eggs are handled, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) the most common form has been used since 1981 in the
United States. ART may enable individuals who were previously not able to conceive and deliver a
child the ability to do so. In 2009 the Suleman Octuplets were born using the IVF technique to a single
mother who also had six other children under the same methods. The Suleman Octuplets and their
mother, Nadya Suleman, became a focus of interest for many based on the controversy and ethical

Suleman s choice to reproduce occurred with her first six children and she was incapable of

Differences between Protein Shake and Protein Steak
From the moment of its creation, protein powder has been engulfed in a tornado of controversy.
Doctors, scientists, and athletes have debated on whether or not it should be used for years. Protein
provides the building blocks for all cells and membranes, hormones and various growth factors. Elena
Voropay, a writer for Iron Man Magazine, says Protein is found literally everywhere in your system:
there is protein in your muscle tissues, your heart, in the enzymes that digest your food, in your skin
cells and even within your blood (Voropay 1).

The best selling protein shakes are all based on milk proteins. Protein in its powdered form is also
much lighter than a full meal. This comes into play when the protein shake is taken as a pre workout.
In that case, it is much better to eat a lighter shake before a HIT or high intensity training regimen,
otherwise the contents of your meal may end up on the gym floor instead of being absorbed for
nutrients.
It is important to choose a good, healthy protein powder because many companies aren t honest with
their product labels since their products aren t regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Nutrilite, a company who specializes in supplements and nutrition, is a company that is totally honest
about their labels. Nutrilite created the first multi vitamin well over fifty years ago. Their products are
pure and because they are organic, are considered whole food. This means that they are regulated by
the Food and Drug Administration. Also, they are the only one endorsed by the National Collegiate
Athlete Association (NCAA).
Some negatives when looking at powdered Protein products are that first and foremost, they lack the
supplemental nutrients that whole foods have to offer. For example, beef is high in iron, while salmon
is loaded with healthy fats. Yogurt provides calcium, and whole wheat supplies B vitamins. Dr.
Mercola, a chiropractor, healthy specialist and author, says that the whey protein isolates are devoid of

Double Indemnity Essay
In Double Indemnity , to depict the characteristics of the femme fatale named Dietrichson in different
plots, the combination of various representational ways is necessary. Hanson Helen and O Rawe
Catherine analyze many plots of this movie and list them in their book named The Femme Fatale:
Images, Histories, Contexts . Take one representational method as an example, In this plot which
shows the conversation between Dietrichson and Neff, audiences just can hear Dietrichson s voices
and all of her gestures and facial expressions are hidden by the shadow, at the same time, Walter
appearance can be seen clearly (Hanson Helen, O Rawe Catherine). This innovative way is used to
highlight their different standpoints, in fact, the movie shows Dietrichson always manipulates the
progress of the crime and controls Neff s affection for her plan. In another words, Walter is in the
light, meanwhile, Dietrichson is in darkness. Additionally, This movie uses this method for
transforming the threat into a secret to foreshadow their tragic results (Hanson Helen, O Rawe
Catherine). Double Indemnity does not show the outcome of Neff clearly, although audiences know
that he was shot by Dietrichson and the crime he did was known by his colleague. Innovative
representations for plots are using in this movie, however, it shows traditional results for Dietrichson

The Impact Of Unemployment On Aboriginal And Torres Strait...
One social determinant that impacts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is unemployment.
According to the Australian Census in 2011, 56% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population
in Australia were participating in the labour force, however, 17.2% of this population were
unemployed but seeking employment (Australian Bureau of Statistics [ABS], 2013). Comparing these
numbers to the non indigenous population, the percentage of the indigenous population in the labour
force is significantly lower than non indigenous Australians, with a difference of 20.5% (ABS, 2013).
Through my learning of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing, it was mentioned
that most indigenous people were unemployed or experienced poverty, the statistics allowed me to put
these statements into perspective. Upon learning this I felt quite shocked and alarmed at the high rates
of people that were not working or even trying to find work. It gave me a better understanding of how
seeking employment for indigenous people may be a stressful and daunting process. But it also made
me think on how unemployment can affect the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with Pharr s (2012) and Janlert s (2014) researches on the impact of unemployment on mental and
physical health. Both concluded similarly that people who have been unemployed for prolonged
period have poor mental health compared to the employed, Pharr (2012) also stated that unemployed
people are hesitant to receive medical treatment for physical health due to cost. Stress contributes to
poor mental health but also feelings of disappointment and shame towards

Foreign Investment During the Recent Global Economic...
Foreign Investment during the recent global economic recession
ABSTRACT:
The year 2008 marked the end of a growth cycle in international investment that started in 2004 and
saw world foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows reach a historic record of $1.9 trillion in 2007.
Since then FDIs have been decreasing. The fall in global FDI in 2008 2009 is the result of two major
factors affecting domestic as well as international investment. First, the capability of firms to invest
has been reduced by a fall in access to financial resources, both internally due to a decline in corporate
profits and externally due to the lower availability and higher cost of finance. Second, the propensity
to invest has been affected negatively by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The proposed Xstrata takeover of a South African mining conglomerate was put on hold as the
financing was harder due to the credit crunch . There are several other examples e.g. in India .
In the face of the global economic slowdown (and recession in a number of major economies), tighter
credit conditions and falling corporate profits, many companies have announced plans to curtail
production, lay off workers and cut capital expenditure, all of which has implications for FDI
.However, the impact of the crisis varies widely, depending on region and country, with consequences
for the geographic pattern of FDI flows .
The current crisis began in the developed world, though it is rapidly spreading to developing and
transition economies. Developed countries have thus been directly hit by the financial crisis, while its
effects on developing economies have so far been indirect in most cases, with varying degrees of
severity among regions and countries. This has direct consequences on the geographical patterns of
FDI inflows. There is ample evidence that the global crisis is having a negative impact on
international investment. Tighter credit conditions and lower corporate profits have weakened
companies capability to finance their overseas projects; while the global economic recession and a
heightened appreciation of risks have eroded business confidence. Many large TNCs have revised
their global expansion plans downward, and divestments have taken

Essay On Foreign Aid
Many influential thinkers view foreign aid as one of the best tools for eradicating poverty. However,
my aim is to prove this belief wrong by demonstrating that if the capital is given to the wrong types of
government then it works to further perpetuate inequalities. Nations thrive only when they establish
inclusive governments ones that promote free markets that permit citizens to not only spend freely but
also to invest to promote the flow of capital. On the other hand, governments that use authority to
consolidate power in the hand of only a few, such as one in Mexico, may show some economic growth
but at the cost of the well being of the majority.

How can two areas of essentially the same city have so many discrepancies? Evidently, geography,
climate, food, and diseases (in forms of germs) are identical. Some might argue that health care is
different; nevertheless, that argument is not relevant to the disease environment. A plausible reason for
why the people of the south suffer from more diseases is simply because they lack sanitation and
decent health care system, which are determined by man made institutions.
Could one argue then that the inhabitants of Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora have different
ancestors? No, they do not. After Mexico s independence from the Spanish Empire in 1821, the area
around the two Nogales belonged to the Mexican state of Vieja California (Acemoglu 2012). I
maintain that it is the human made border that serves as the sole explanation for these differences in
qualities of lives. Since northern Nogales is in the Unites States, its citizens can obtain the benefits of
economic institutions of the United States that allow them to freely choose their career, get skills and
schooling, and invest in technology, which results in higher wages and profit. More importantly, they
have direct access to political institutions that ensure their participation in democratic processes;
consequently, popularly elected officials provide services ranging from law and order to sanitations
systems. Citizens of Nogales, Sonora, on the other hand, face a different reality. This leads

Viewers Perceptions of On-Air Cursing Essay
This study used a 2 x 2 x 2 design to examine the effects of warning labels, bleeping, and gender on
viewers perceptions and enjoyment of a docu drama. We also examined the individual difference
variable of verbal aggressiveness to test for possible interactions. Overall, the warning labels increased
enjoyment of the program containing profanity among college students. Bleeping had no effect on
either program liking or perceptions of realism; however, bleeping decreased perceptions of the
program s offensiveness, and increased viewers perceptions of profanity frequently estimates. Lastly,
verbally aggressive participants perceived the program as more realistic, and the language as less

Another airing of the same program self censored (or quot;bleeped quot;) the profanity. Therefore,
although program ratings have allowed viewers greater opportunity to filter their viewing, lowered
norms of self censorship have perhaps broadened the material available to them. These less restrictive
norms, on one hand, and more frequent labeling of material, on the other, lead us to ask how labels
and self censoring affect the enjoyment and perceptions of program content by viewers. Therefore, the
current study uses an experimental design to examine the effects of program labels and self censoring
on the perceptions and enjoyment of viewers. First, we will discuss the possible effects of warnings
and self censoring (bleeping) on viewers enjoyment and perceptions of the content. Next, we will
consider possible individual differences in viewers responses to the manipulations.

warnings and ratings by the networks, combined with the increase in parental concern about

research into this issue has become more prevalent. A majority of these studies is grounded in

Essay on Role of Women in Edmund Spenser s The Faerie Queene
Role of Women in Edmund Spenser s The Faerie Queene
Edmund Spenser in his epic romance, The Faerie Queene, invents and depicts a wide array of female
figures. Some of these women, such as Una and Caelia, are generally shown as faithful, virtuous and
overall lovely creatures. Other feminine characters, such as Errour, Pride, and Duessa are false,
lecherous and evil. This might seem to be the end of Spenser s categorization of women; that they are
either good or bad. Yet upon closer examination one finds that Spenser seems to be struggling to
portray women more honestly, to depict the complex reality of woman (Berger, 92). Spenser does not
simply idealize women or the feminine viewpoint as he could easily do ... Show more content on

Upon seeing Redcrosse being strangled by Errour s vile tail, Una provides directions saying Now now
Sir knight, shew what ye bee, / Add faith unto your force, and be not faint: / Strangle her, else she sure
will strangle thee (1.19.164 66). With Una s encouragement and guidance Redcrosse is able to free
himself from Errour s grasp and slay the snake creature. Again in the third canto, Spenser describes
Una as a brave and powerful creature, She of nought affrayd, / Through woods and wastnesse wide
travels alone (3.3.25 6). It seems that Una is perfectly in control of her various situations, and that
Spenser is depicting women as being capable of being both beautiful and chaste as well as strong and
confident.
Una is also portrayed with a religious power as she is a spiritual guide for Redcrosse. Redcrosse s
chief faults are a weak faith and a corresponding excessive confidence in his own virtue (Broaddus,
9). Redcrosse in turn relies almost completely on Una to guide him on the righteous path. As Una and
Redcrosse begin their journey together, Redcrosse lustily pricks across the plains, while Una takes the
more spiritually appropriate, and slower, transportation. Spenser writes of Una:

Upon a lowly Asse more white then snow,

Hoverboards In the movie Back to the Future Part II, (1989), the main character, Marty McFly, rides

come and gone, what progress has happened in the field of hoverboards? The answer is quite a bit,
although all of the modern versions fall short of the urban sports equipment featured in the film. Here
are the top five contenders for the title of hoverboard. Self balancing smart scooter, the first product to
be mass produced with the claim of being a hoverboard, is in fact not much more than a Segway
without the handle. This hoverboard does not actually hover but runs on two wheels, utilizing a self

likely that the Arx Pax hover engine will find other applications outside of recreational use (Allain,

advertisement, but does not intend to mass produce them. The board operates on a system of
superconductors cooled by liquid nitrogen, known as flux pinning. This process requires a track of

The Internationalisation Process Of Emerging Market...
The study of the internationalisation process of emerging market multinationals (EMNCs) has gained
prominence in the last two decades. This is as a result of the economic growth and transformation
witnessed among the emerging markets (EM) and the growth of EMNCs. The internationalisation
phenomenon has resulted in a surge of interest from international business (IB) scholars (Athreye
Kapur, 2009; Hoskisson, Eden, Lau, Wright, 2000; Hoskisson, Wright, Filatotchev, Peng, 2013;
Jormanainen Koveshnikov, 2012). A critical observation of extant literature shows, however, that Asia
and Latin America has dominated the study of EMNCs internationalisation for many years (Child
Rodrigues, 2005; Cyrino, Barcellos, Tanure, 2010; Eren Erdogmus, Cobanoglu, Yalcın, Ghauri, 2010;
Fortanier Tulder, 2009; Olaya, Olaya, Cuéter, 2012; Sim, 2005) and Bianchi, (2014). Sub Saharan

What Is The Difference Between Low And High Levels Of Power
Jimi Hendrix once said, When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know
peace. Contrasting values of morality between low and high levels of power create a divide. High
positions of power present a status to keep. They would rather stick to the traditional system opposed
to taking initiative with change, applying to their law based thinking. This causes the world s most
influential beings to be bystanders. High power people are on the same level as the kids who stand by
and watch as a victim is being beaten up by a bully at school. Doing nothing is as bad as being the
offender because when given the chance to stop a problem, high power individuals allow it to occur.
In contrast, people with little power consider their action s impact through resolution based thinking.
Right and wrong is the deciding factor after analyzing situations thoroughly to make a decision.
Rather than sitting back and watching injustice, they take charge; they simply don t have much to lose.
The levels of power majorly affect morality through law and resolution based thinking and granting
power to resolution based thinkers to create a balance between the branches.
To start, a high level of power results in morals based around laws. People in power want to maintain
that power and follow or make rules that keep them in power. In the article, How Power Influences
Moral Thinking, the author discusses how stability is appealing for high power people, because their

Why Did Imperialism Cause Ww1

Imperialism is said to have been a huge in the cause of the first world war. Imperialism is where a

Gunboat Diplomacy or also known as big stick Diplomacy is a country uses its strong military to fight

Advantages And Limitations Of Procedural Programming
Programming paradigms
Applications and limitations
A procedural programming a program that contains a series of computational steps to be carried out.
Procedural programming is a term to denote the way in which a computer programmer writes a
program. This program works by using sequences of instructions. The types of procedural
programming are pascal, c++ and c.
This is source code written in procedural language. y = 1224; for (x = 0; x 100; x++) { z = y + x;
}
A variable y is being set, then the code enters a loop. this is showing procedural programing as it
defines what the computer should do step by step.
It can be used for mathematical, science or engineering calculations that you want to be solved.
Limitations:
Procedural code is difficult to relate with real world objects, this may make it difficult to design.
As the data is exposed to the whole program there is no security for your data. This could mean that a
new programmer could corrupt the data accidentally by creating functions.
There are many types of procedural programming languages and the programmer might just specialise
in a particular language as they can learn them all. as it written in a low level language it isn t as
efficient as others that many use high level languages.
Object oriented
Object oriented programming is a programming paradigm based on the concept of objects rather than
algorithms, this may contain data in the form of fields. it aims to incorporate the advantages of
modularity and

Feminism And Postcolonialism In The Color Purple By Alice...
The paper explores the idea that gender is culturally and socially constructed, a thought that there is
clear evidence of in the novel. Much has been said about Alice Walker s epistolary novel, The Color
Purple, and its feminist dimension; nevertheless, this characteristic represents only the tip of the
iceberg, the eye striking feature, as this book is also a representative example of postcolonial
literature. By illustrating Afro American life both of the colonized and of the colonizers, the narrative
becomes the literature of otherness and resistance, built up around a triple oppression (cultural, racial
and sexual) and around the inner evolution of culture.. There has been much arguing among
postcolonial scholars regarding the structure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undoubtedly, Celie is the object of degrading and diminishing comments and attitudes by her
husband. Symptomatically, Celie is also exposed to sexual abuse. Moreover, she is deprived of her
earlier so close contacts to her sister Nettie. Finally, as a poor girl Celie has no money and is thus
dependent on Mr _____. His questioning of his wife s decision to leave him for Memphis can be seen
as an attempt from his side to frighten her: Nothing up North for nobody like you... He laugh. Maybe
somebody let you work on they railroad (Walker 186). Obviously, he resolutely tells his wife what she
should do and with this utterance he seems to demand Celie to stay with him. By commanding his
wish to have her at home, the patriarchal order can be maintained. Furthermore, his declarations about
the importance of beating an obedient wife who does not see her husband as an authority can be seen
as a way of using threatening or frightening practises with the purpose to maintain the patriarchal
system. In one of her letters to her sister Nettie, Celie describes the difficulties with the male
sovereignty with these words: Well, you know wherever there s a man, there s trouble (Walker 186).
Certainly, it illuminates well her experience of patriarchal oppression and subordination. Celie
opposes her husband s critical views about her decision to leave by responding The jail you plan

  • 2. Gender Wage Gap The gender wage gap is not the only problem as also there is another right in which women are arguing for and that is to legally have an abortion. Feminists would argue that they should have the right to choose to whether they want to have an abortion. This reiterates that women still do not have the rights that they feel like they deserve to have and that they should continue to protest and fight until they do. Angela Breslin in her article A Wall of Legislative Obstacles in the Path of A Woman Exercising Her Right To An Abortion: Planned Parenthood Arizona INC.V. Betlach argues how Supreme Court Cases on abortion have gone against it therefore violating their rights. She talks about the court cases on how they took away the right to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There have been recently scandals in which the famous men of Hollywood are being charged with sexual assault or harassment and acting inappropriately around women. Women are suffering from these problems especially in the workplace as of late and in a society in which values women more there are still some that don t yet because they don t treat women with respect that they deserve. It seems that some of these men are living in the past and want women for the sexual pleasure that they are supposed to provide to men. Christina Pazzanese and Colleen Walsh in their article The Woman s Revolt: Why now, and where to argues how the Me Too movement can spark changes to society as more people become aware of these problems. Before the scandals in Hollywood not many people took the problems of sexual assault and harassment to be much of a problem and therefore there would be no change. This is why the women in the Me Too movement want more women to speak up on these problems that they have been suffering from so that more people become aware of it. The article provides a quote which is as follows, But, unless feminists (and the media, and the national audience) start doing a better job of highlighting and listening to the voices of people who have been doubly marginalized, such as women of color and those of lower socioeconomic status, there will be important limits on what can be accomplished. Society cannot doubt what women say because society downplays some of these accounts of sexual assault because they don t believe the woman is a victim. They need to understand how hard it is for women to talk about this because it traumatizes them and are sometimes stopped from saying anything by the men because there will be consequences. As soon as people understand this then people will be susceptible to change because they know that it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Deck Expansion Essay How wide should you spread your deck? We aren t trying to break any records here, but we want to achieve a decent sized span. For the spectators to believe they are seeing the entire deck, you must stretch the spread the distance you would usually spread a deck if you were having an audience member pick a card. Instead of using your fingers to help distribute the cards, let s use friction. The key to expanding your reverse spread is regulated by how much you slide the cards across one another. By simultaneously pulling your hands apart as you push and pull the cards during the action of spreading, you regulate the friction that helps keep the cards together. Pull your hands apart too far, and you will lose your grip and the cards will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whatever the purpose, from now on you must be conscious of how often, and in which direction, you spread cards. If you have a card selected from a reversed spread but reveal it with a regular spread, for example, suspicion might follow. The best course of action is to always reverse spread the deck when having a card selected, returned, or revealed. This keeps everything uniform. However, if that notion seems too overwhelming, below you ll find several viable alternatives that should satisfy your needs. Fanning Cards By pivoting the entire deck around your thumb, you evenly distribute the cards in a circular shape. It s a beautiful way to have a card selected, and does not expose the direction in which the deck is spread. A cursory look on the internet should yield several different methods of fanning. Some are more difficult than others, but any kind will work. Dribbling Cards One of my favorite ways to have cards selected and returned is by dribbling them. Hold the deck from above by using the right thumb on the short inner end, and second, third and little fingers at the outer end (End Grip). Curl your right first finger on top of the deck. Starting from the face of the deck, allow cards to fall individually by exerting and releasing pressure with your right thumb and second finger as you apply pressure with your forefinger from the top. Your left hand waits underneath, catching the falling cards in its palm. As the cards drop, have someone call stop. As soon as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Reynolds, 2012) The schools that are hosting these singular multicultural days do have intent to inform students of diverse cultures, yet instead are accentuating the already existing social and cultural hierarchies. (Gorski, 2008) The way and how to teach multiculturalism in the classroom is a sensitive topic between the many parties involved. Since multicultural education is primarily a set of beliefs and philosophies (Neito, 1994), it is a very powerful issue especially from socio political perspectives. Wright (2007) argues that multiculturalism has no pre given destiny nationally or globally, but is continually being renewed and re contested by political policy actors from their dominating point of view. The power of the corporate elite demonstrates their need for social in equality through globalization, for the cheap labor from the poorest countries that accelerate their economic growth. It s not right for people to make fun of them and something needs to be done about this. People are made fun of every single day for being fat or overweight. I think that these people that do this do it to make themselves feel good. It makes them feel good because they are different than the people they are making fun of. They are skinnier than the other person so that makes them feel better than the other person therefore they think they are better than them. Although they are not as good as them, they are bullying them and being extremely rude. We can try to change this but I do not think there is a way to completely get rid of labeling people. To try to change this I believe that if we just bring awareness to labeling people then people may start to realize that it is wrong. While brining awareness to it, to try to get rid of labeling, the main focus should be showing that being different is ok. Making this movement public was essential in ratification of the Constitution. Paul organized women on all levels. She knew that selling the movement to the American people would further the cause. Her first attempt was to campaign against all Democratic candidates. That did not do much to the political party. She had to reformulate a plan. Papers often carried the stories of the suffragettes struggles. When World War I was declared, that changed. Paul had many aligned supporters up until this point. Other feminine characters, such as Errour, Pride, and Duessa are false, lecherous and evil. This might seem to be the end of Spenser s categorization of women; that they are either good or bad. Yet upon closer examination one finds that Spenser seems to be struggling to portray women more honestly, to depict the complex reality of woman (Berger, 92). Spenser does not simply idealize women or the feminine viewpoint as he could easily do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Upon seeing Redcrosse being strangled by Errour s vile tail, Una provides directions saying Now now Sir knight, shew what ye bee, / Add faith unto your force, and be not faint: / Strangle her, else she sure will strangle thee (1.19.164 66). With Una s encouragement and guidance Redcrosse is able to free himself from Errour s grasp and slay the snake creature. Again in the third canto, Spenser describes Una as a brave and powerful creature, She of nought affrayd, / Through woods and wastnesse wide travels alone (3.3.25 6). It seems that Una is perfectly in control of her various situations, and that Spenser is depicting women as being capable of being both beautiful and chaste as well as strong and confident. Una is also portrayed with a religious power as she is a spiritual guide for Redcrosse. Redcrosse s chief faults are a weak faith and a corresponding excessive confidence in his own virtue (Broaddus, 9). Redcrosse in turn relies almost completely on Una to guide him on the righteous path. As Una and Redcrosse begin their journey together, Redcrosse lustily pricks across the plains, while Una takes the more spiritually appropriate, and slower, transportation. Spenser writes of Una: A lovely Ladie rode him faire beside, Upon a lowly Asse more white then snow, Yet she much whiter, but the same did hide Under a vele, that wimpled was full ... • 28. Isolation In M. L. Stedman s The Light Between Oceans The chains of the decision wrap themselves insidiously around his torso, binding the man while the woman sits smiling in the corner ignoring his pleas. Sometimes the cold metal shifts and loosens its harsh grip when the child rests her small hands on them or the woman gets up and whispers in his ear, but never long enough to let him forget. Just like these constraints, Tom Sherbourne faces suffocating guilt about failing to report Lucy and Frank s mysterious arrival to Janus and subsequently claiming the girl as his own daughter with his wife Isabel in M.L. However, Tom originally found solace in the removal from society as it helped ease the memories of the war and his childhood with its simplicity and predictability. As the couple settles and Lucy arrives, the motif of isolation and the island itself darkens to represent a prison, entrapping Tom and overwhelming him with the lies, guilt and knowledge of Hannah suffering miles away. Unlike if Tom were on the mainland where it is much more difficult to escape the constant reminder of their choice, he manages to subdue his restless conscience at times so that isolation lulls him with music of the lie (159). Isabel experiences a similar effect brought on by the years of seclusion. During her cathartic visit with Ralph, Isabel admits to the powerful force of the island on her judgement: Janus was real. Lucy was real. Everything else was just make belief (310). Isolation makes it easier for both Isabel and Tom to forget about Hannah and the rest of the world like they are no more than an exciting story out of a book once read, closed and then tucked neatly away in the closet to be revisited ... Now that the year that was considered the future in the movie has come and gone, what progress has happened in the field of hoverboards? The answer is quite a bit, although all of the modern versions fall short of the urban sports equipment featured in the film. Here are the top five contenders for the title of hoverboard. Self balancing smart scooter, the first product to be mass produced with the claim of being a hoverboard, is in fact not much more than a Segway without the handle. This hoverboard does not actually hover but runs on two wheels, utilizing a self balancing gyroscopic control system. Lexus, the car manufacturer has successfully created a hoverboard to be featured in an advertisement, but does not intend to mass produce them. The board operates on a system of superconductors cooled by liquid nitrogen, known as flux pinning. This process requires a track of magnets and has no real world functionality (Allain, 2015). National Honor Society Greatest Achievements Getting accepted into the National Honor Society is my proudest achievements to date, and even though it is not the most outstanding achievement, it was important to me because it transcended academics. • 33. The Internationalisation Process Of Emerging Market... The study of the internationalisation process of emerging market multinationals (EMNCs) has gained prominence in the last two decades. This is as a result of the economic growth and transformation witnessed among the emerging markets (EM) and the growth of EMNCs. The internationalisation phenomenon has resulted in a surge of interest from international business (IB) scholars (Athreye Kapur, 2009; Hoskisson, Eden, Lau, Wright, 2000; Hoskisson, Wright, Filatotchev, Peng, 2013; Jormanainen Koveshnikov, 2012). A critical observation of extant literature shows, however, that Asia and Latin America has dominated the study of EMNCs internationalisation for many years (Child Rodrigues, 2005; Cyrino, Barcellos, Tanure, 2010; Eren Erdogmus, Cobanoglu, Yalcın, Ghauri, 2010; Fortanier Tulder, 2009; Olaya, Olaya, Cuéter, 2012; Sim, 2005) and Bianchi, (2014). Such firms for examples include MTN, First Bank of Nigeria, Eco bank of Senegal, Dangote, ShopRite, Equity Group holdings, Globalcom, SABMiller of South Africa, InterSwitch and Computer Warehouse Group to mention a few. • 34. What Is The Difference Between Low And High Levels Of Power Jimi Hendrix once said, When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. Contrasting values of morality between low and high levels of power create a divide. High positions of power present a status to keep. They would rather stick to the traditional system opposed to taking initiative with change, applying to their law based thinking. This causes the world s most influential beings to be bystanders. High power people are on the same level as the kids who stand by and watch as a victim is being beaten up by a bully at school. Doing nothing is as bad as being the offender because when given the chance to stop a problem, high power individuals allow it to occur. In contrast, people with little power consider their action s impact through resolution based thinking. Right and wrong is the deciding factor after analyzing situations thoroughly to make a decision. Rather than sitting back and watching injustice, they take charge; they simply don t have much to lose. The levels of power majorly affect morality through law and resolution based thinking and granting power to resolution based thinkers to create a balance between the branches. To start, a high level of power results in morals based around laws. People in power want to maintain that power and follow or make rules that keep them in power. With nations arming so fast, it led it an arms race which led to countries building large standing armies. Like I mentioned early, countries began to fear imperialism and being taken over by another country. So they began to form trade/military alliances. These alliances were basically were two countries would agree to help one another if the other was attacked. In some of the Alliances the other country had no choice to but to declare war on the country that attacked their allie. These alliances played a very large part into making a true world war. Advantages And Limitations Of Procedural Programming Programming paradigms Applications and limitations A procedural programming a program that contains a series of computational steps to be carried out. Procedural programming is a term to denote the way in which a computer programmer writes a program. This program works by using sequences of instructions. The types of procedural programming are pascal, c++ and c. This is source code written in procedural language. y = 1224; for (x = 0; x 100; x++) { z = y + x; } A variable y is being set, then the code enters a loop. this is showing procedural programing as it defines what the computer should do step by step. It can be used for mathematical, science or engineering calculations that you want to be solved. Limitations: Procedural code is difficult to relate with real world objects, this may make it difficult to design. As the data is exposed to the whole program there is no security for your data. This could mean that a new programmer could corrupt the data accidentally by creating functions. There are many types of procedural programming languages and the programmer might just specialise in a particular language as they can learn them all. as it written in a low level language it isn t as efficient as others that many use high level languages.
