Remote cultures
1. Remote Cultures
1. The first video with the tribe was really different, we don’t live like them. They didn’t
use modern conveniences and they lived in the wild. Women married young and if they
didn’t they would be raped. Men were the head of the tribe and settled differences.
The second video was just strange because the guy had multiple personalities and he was
like the “king” of the little area he lived in. He was very mean to his wife and constantly
threatened her. When the people from there told stories, they all had a different version of
the truth.
2. The tribe traded goods, they didn’t have a currency. They used drugs to connect with the
spirit world and they burned their dead and never spoke their name again. They lived
with their families their entire lives. They didn’t have a political system, men took care of
problems.
The second video was away from the rest of society; they still had the same laws as
everyone else but they’re not as enforced because they’re so far away. The guy was able
to verbally abuse his wife and shootings took place resulting in his father’s death. They
don’t socialize with outsiders, they’re limited to the small group of peopled in the area.
3. I have modern conveniences at my disposal, I won’t live with my parents for my entire
life. We have a government system and laws to abide by. I don’t live in a remote area
away from the influence of others.
2. 4. Both cultures are cut off from outside influence. Men have more power than women in
both cultures. They are mostly around their own family and no one else.
5. I think the tribe was just never introduced to civilization, they stayed remote. The second
video the town they live in is so far off from a big town that they aren’t affected by
others.
6. We would have to move them to modern civilization, we probably shouldn’t because they
seem content living as they are. We don’t need to destroy cultures.
