youhear hersay that she was inlove withhimbuthe is the onlymanshe evercame to know. I
alsobelievethatshe didn’treallylovehimbecause she lefthimandthe childrentogoback to
hervillage andmarriedanotherman.
The secondvideowasn’tasinterestingasthe firstvideo. Ithoughtthe secondvideowasn’tthat
much of a shockbecause Ihave seenpeople live like thatfromthe townI wasraisedin. The
familyinthisvideoisnotyourtypical family. Idon’tmeanto be judgmental buttheydon’t
seemtocare about howtheylive orhow theypresentthemselvestothe world. The main
character of this videoalsoseemsviolentjustbyhow he talksto hiswife andhow he treatsher.
He isa verytalentedmanwhenitcomestotap dancingbut he seemstojustcare about himself.

Theydon’thave TV, or phonestoentertainthemselves. Theyjusthave eachother. The village
people alsohave asystemwhere the menare the huntersandfathers,while the womenare
gatherers andmothers. These people settle argumentsbyhavingthe menhiteachother’s
chestswiththeirown. Andthe onlywaythe village peopleconnecttothe spiritual worldisby
gettinghightopointwhere theyjuststartdroolinguncontrollably.
In the secondvideo,thisfamilyisn’tasremote asthe village people. Theyhave utilitiesand
wearclothes. Theyalsodon’tseemassocial witheach otheras the village people. The main
character entertainshimselfbydoinghistapdancingand pretendingtobe Elviseveryday.
However,whenhiswholefamilyare together,theylike drivingcarsandtrucks throughmudfor
fun. Theyalso enjoydrinkinganddoingdrugsforentertainment.

The village people’sculturedoesnotrelate tomyculture at all. Theyhave differentbeliefsand
live ina differentenvironmentthanwhatI live in.Forbothof the documentariesIseen,I’ve
noticedthatwhat theyenjoydoingisdifferentinwhatIlike todo for entertainment. Asfor
entertainment, sometimesIwouldratherjustsitinmyroom and watchTV or playon my phone
insteadof socializing. Myculture alsodoesn’thave sucha strict rule ingenderroles. Menand
womenare more acceptedto doingthe role theywantto do. Whenit comesto religion,my
culture ismostlybasedoff of Christianitywhere youprayor goto church to show that you are a
followerof God. My culture alsowantsto advance and we’re alwaysexperimentingwithnew
thingsandcomingup withnewideas.
4) Similaritiesbetweenbothcultures
These twoculturesdon’thave muchsimilaritiesbetweenthem. However,theybothseemto
believethatthe menshouldhave more powerthanthe women. Theyalsolive outontheirown,
isolatingthemselvesfromothercultures,andthe restof the world.

I believethatthe village peoplehave alwayslivedthatway. The firstpeople of the Imalaya

before,these villagepeople don’twantachange. Inthe secondvideo,Ibelievethatthese

For the village people,itwouldtake alotto make themlive like usbecause theyhave lived ina
remote areafor so longandthat’s all theyknow. I thinkyouwouldhave toslowlyexposethem
to our culture. Suchas givingthemknives,medicine andteachthemhow tocook mealsand
thenslowlyexpose themtotechnology. We wouldhave ahard time gettingthemtobelieve in
the same beliefsasusthough. Asfor the familyinBoone County,itwon’ttake as mucheffortto
getthemusedto our culture. Theyjustwon’tbe usedto the advancedtechnologysuchas
cellphonesorcomputers. Theyalsowon’tbe usedtothe trafficof some towns,or be usedto
otherpeople aroundthembecause theyhave beenisolatedfromothers.
