I attempted to brief you about Reliance jio Strategy, swot analysis its rivals and there strategies, how jio has gained so much popularity in such less time and vanished many telecom operators. Hope you all will like my work and suggestions are welcome.
The launch of Jio is likely to transform the Indian telecom sector but at the same time put pressure on multiple fronts on the current telecom operator such as Bharti Airtel, Idea & Vodafone. The entrance of the jio has brought a stormy revolution in the Telecom market and Jio has emerged into a brand new world of innovations and up gradation. This article discusses the features of the jio and the edge it would have over its rivals once operational. The objective of this research paper is to find whether the company will become a Star or will remain a question mark.
The Effect on the Telecom Industry and Consumers after the Introduction of Re...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
In the world of intense competition amongst all the
industries, the telecom industry also does not fail to stay
behind. With the belief that the customer is the king, each and
every company in India is willing to go to depths and cross
lines every day so that they can be that one brand that
customers look for. While choosing a Network, one looks for
various factors such as Network coverage, the call rates, the
internet plan offered and not to forget but the value-added
services as well. Satisfying the consumers in each of this aspect
is not an easy task. Based on the literature review and after
considering the questions we want to answer; the research
problem of the research paper is “The Effect on The
Consumers and Telecom Industry after the Introduction of
Reliance Jio.” The problem mainly focuses on how the telecom
industry was before and after Jio, what people believe and
perceive about Reliance Jio and what challenges the
competitors faced with the introduction of Jio. Based on the
research problem, these are some of the objectives of our
study,
1. To study the impact of Reliance Jio on the telecom
industry, the change in composition of industry,
change in market share and the reforms that were
undertaken
2. To identify the effect of Jio on common people and
consumer behavior
3. To identify the business strategy followed by Jio and
its Competitors
The methodology used in the research paper was s Single
Cross-Sectional Descriptive Design. With the objective and
design, the tool used for analysis were Mean, Standard
Deviation to compare and analyze the data, also test like the Ztest and Chi-Square Test were done to test the hypothesis.
Finally, the findings of the research paper concluded
that Jio disrupted the market to such a level forcing
competitors to exit or merge, amongst the consumers, the
respondents were eager to test the new competitor in the
market and thus the research witnessed a significant shift in
the network from other networks to Jio.
Through our research we recommend that
Consumers should try to shift to Jio, with their very low
monthly plans and Huge value-added services offered, which
the competitors are still not able to achieve, adds to the success
of Jio in India.

5. Reliance Jio 4G: Five pillars according to
Mukesh Ambani
• Network: RIL chairman said most service providers have
infrastructure for voice, but not data “There is one language spoken
on Jio, the language of the Internet: IP,” he said, adding that all IP
design makes Jio the most extensive and future-proof in the world.
• Reliance Jio will cover 90 per cent of India’s population by March
2017, Ambani said
• Devices: According to Ambani, more 70 per cent of all smartphones
in India are 4G LTE. He announced addition to its LYF smartphone

regarding content for Jio TV and company’s apps.
• Jio TV will give users an access to 300 plus channels.

7. Reliance Jio 4G: Five pillars according to
Mukesh Ambani
• Services: Reliance Jio is presenting its users with a redesigned sign-up process.
RIL aims at making on-boarding experience simpler and acquire a million users a
day. The e-KYC solution will give users a working connection with Aadhar card in
just 15 minutes.
• Tariffs: Ambani said the company has always put customers first. He added that
Jio tariffs are built on three principles
• 1) Customer should play for only one service — voice or data.
• 2) Data must be affordable
• 3) Pricing structure should be simple so just 10 tariff plans. No blackout dates.
Mukesh Ambani says the company is offering 4G data packs at about 1/10th price
as compared to other players in the market. Ambani calls the “cheapest in the
world” and there will be just 10 tarrif plans to choose from.

9. What exactly is different about Jio?
• The biggest difference between other telecom operators and Jio is their optical
fibre network. An optical fibre is a wire that converts your data signal
into light and transfers them at the speed of light. The data transfer capacity of
optical fibre is very high compared to mobile towers.
• Reliance Jio has the longest fibre optic network in the country, ranging over 2.5
lakh kilometers of fibre.
• Reliance Jio invested ₹ 150,000 Crores ($ 22 billion) into this fibre optic network.

11. The Reliance Jio Master Plan
• This is actually a very calculated risk that they are taking. Here is the
approach:
• Step one - Undercut the market price by giving attractive discounts
• Step two - Let everyone switch to Jio for internet use at cheap rates
• Step three - Unleash the power of fibre optic network to give super
fast internet
• Step four: Grow your subscriber base
• Step five: Recover your investment using the large number of users
Reliance jio presentation by abhishek
12. The Reliance Jio Master Plan
• Once you have already laid down the fibre optic network, the cost of
operating it is not very huge. On the contrary, you can operate the
network at minimal cost. Therefore, the only focus is to get more
internet users.
• They are not charging for the voice calls because they don’t care
about voice. In fact, not charging for voice will attract more people
towards Jio
• Their network is capable enough to handle amazing internet speeds.
It therefore encourages the users to use internet instead.

14. Controversies
Issue with incumbents
• In September 2016, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)
summoned Jio and the country's existing telecom operators
like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea Cellular to meet and discuss an
issue regarding interconnection between the operators. This was a
result after Jio complained to TRAI and Department of Telecom (DoT)
about other operators not honoring their commercial agreements to
let Jio use their network resources.
• TRAI imposes 1050 crore penalty to Airtel and Vodaphone, while in
case of Idea it comes to be 950 crore.

15. Jio’s business model
• Everything Jio have done till now is intended at making money. Their tariff plans may look unbelievably awesome, but they
will make more money by giving free voice calls than what the other companies make by charging you for it!
• In India, the monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) the current network providers get is around Rs. 150 per month.
That is the money they get on average from each user. If you spend over Rs250 per month, you are considered a high value
customer.
• In layman terms,
• After 31 March, if they have 120 million users and 70% are using Jio services and do recharge of basic 149 Rupees,
because they are providing free call.
• Seventh month revenue will be, 70% of 120 = 84 Million.
• 8,40,00,000 x 149 = 1251 crores Rupees
• Without Present offer, Maximum user 10 million.
• 10,00,000 x 149 = 149 Crores. Even if we consider total seven month revenue, 149 x 7 = 1043 Crores. Still it is less than one
month revenue (1251 Cr).
• Amount 1251 Crores is without including revenue generated with Jio Apps. it is good for initial few months. with best
quality and network coverage, users will increase with increasing revenue.. Ultimately quality matters and they have huge
audience.
Reliance jio presentation by abhishek
16. Reliance Jio Achievements
• Reliance Jio has announced that the network has created a world
record by crossing 1.6 crore total subscribers during the first month of
operations in September 2016.
• It was made possible by the introduction of Aadhaar-based paper-less
Jio SIM activation across 3,100 cities and towns, something that
enabled customers to complete the SIM activation process in a matter
of minutes, by providing his/her Aadhaar number alone.
• Users can get a Reliance Jio SIM card with the ‘Welcome Offer’, that
allows users access to free unlimited 4G data until March 2017. This
data however, has a cap of 4GB of data a day - beyond which a user
will get 128Kbps.
