In June 2010, Reliance Industries (RIL) bought a 96% stake in Infotel Broadband Services
Limited (IBSL) for ₹4,800cr.
Although unlisted, IBSL was the only firm to win broadband spectrum in all 22 zones in India in
the 4G auction that took place earlier that year.
Later continuing as RIL's telecom subsidiary, Infotel Broadband Services Limited was renamed
as Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) in January 2013.
In June 2015, Jio announced that it will start its operations all over the country by the
end of 2015.
At the beginning test stage, Jio was opened only for the employees of Reliance Industries.
The company commercially launched its services on 5 September 2016.
Within the first month of commercial operations, Jio announced that it had acquired 16 million
subscribers.
This is the fastest ramp-up by any mobile network operator anywhere in the world.

Jio Apps
In May 2016, Jio
launched a bundle of
multimedia apps on
Google Play as part of
its upcoming 4G
services. While the apps
are available to
download for everyone,
a user will require a Jio
SIM card to use them.
LYF smartphone
In June 2015, Jio tied
up with domestic
handset maker Intex
to supply 4G
handsets enabled
with voice over LTE
(volte) feature.

 Until 2014 company focused on building the
network infrastructure.
 From 2014 it started focusing on recruiting
employees for business operations.
 Jio's founding members devoloped a strategy
,by moving to a cloud technology powered
HR management, which aimed at a rapid
growth of the company.
 Business goals were to connect 18000 cities
and towns as quick as possible.
 To hire around 50000 people and orchestrate
various retailers & distributers.

 Jio's EVP was efficient enough to support candidates,employees
and businessmanagers with a productive experience that was
easy and safe.
 HR process was digital at first. Employees used to complete HR
tasks and report to the centre by using real time apps connected
via IOT through mobile devices.
 All HR processes and technologies and SAP are connected to
each other for powering up HR operations
 Doing this , the company aims at elimminating shared services
organisation.
 Core activites are automated and streamlined.
Conducted,reviewed and approved in hours (not days).
 HR platform run by HR operations centre. Co-operates with HR
centres of excellence and HR IT team to continuously improve the
platform.
 This approach enabled HR process,policy,IT to enhance their
capability in the new digital HR environment

smooth and Jio is expected large no. of
customer would migrate from existing
service provider.
2. 4G network was launched by other

compete with other existing Network.
3. Company has inadequate fibre optic
capacity and it requires Huge amount of
money

  • 4. In June 2010, Reliance Industries (RIL) bought a 96% stake in Infotel Broadband Services Limited (IBSL) for ₹4,800cr. Although unlisted, IBSL was the only firm to win broadband spectrum in all 22 zones in India in the 4G auction that took place earlier that year. Later continuing as RIL's telecom subsidiary, Infotel Broadband Services Limited was renamed as Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) in January 2013. In June 2015, Jio announced that it will start its operations all over the country by the end of 2015. At the beginning test stage, Jio was opened only for the employees of Reliance Industries. The company commercially launched its services on 5 September 2016. Within the first month of commercial operations, Jio announced that it had acquired 16 million subscribers. This is the fastest ramp-up by any mobile network operator anywhere in the world.

  • 6. PRODUCTS & SERVICES Jio Apps In May 2016, Jio launched a bundle of multimedia apps on Google Play as part of its upcoming 4G services. While the apps are available to download for everyone, a user will require a Jio SIM card to use them. LYF smartphone In June 2015, Jio tied up with domestic handset maker Intex to supply 4G handsets enabled with voice over LTE (volte) feature. JioFi Jio also providing a portable Wi-Fi Hotspot & Router to Connect 10 Wi-Fi Devices and One on USB Sleek and light-weight device to keep you connected on-the-go. 6 JIO 4G NETWORK High speed 4G & voice over LTE network connecting pan India Jionet Prior to its pan-India launch of 4G data and telephony services, Jio has started providing free Wi-Fi hotspot services in cities throughout India .

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 9  Until 2014 company focused on building the network infrastructure.  From 2014 it started focusing on recruiting employees for business operations.  Jio's founding members devoloped a strategy ,by moving to a cloud technology powered HR management, which aimed at a rapid growth of the company.  Business goals were to connect 18000 cities and towns as quick as possible.  To hire around 50000 people and orchestrate various retailers & distributers.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 10  Jio's EVP was efficient enough to support candidates,employees and businessmanagers with a productive experience that was easy and safe.  HR process was digital at first. Employees used to complete HR tasks and report to the centre by using real time apps connected via IOT through mobile devices.  All HR processes and technologies and SAP are connected to each other for powering up HR operations  Doing this , the company aims at elimminating shared services organisation.  Core activites are automated and streamlined. Conducted,reviewed and approved in hours (not days).  HR platform run by HR operations centre. Co-operates with HR centres of excellence and HR IT team to continuously improve the platform.  This approach enabled HR process,policy,IT to enhance their capability in the new digital HR environment

OPPURTUNITIES  Jio is the First Indian Network to Offer Free 4G Services and it got reached everywhere.  If Jio Continues the Same Tariff Plan for Few Years, it may become No. 1 network in India SWOT ANALYSIS THREAT  Increase user base may cost reduce in Speed.  Other Competitors may reduce their tariff plans to compete with Jio.
  • 13. POSITIVE OF RELIANCE JIO 1. Company has strong financial capability to suffer initial losses and to recover the gain after 3 to 5 years. 2. Strong Brand image due to excellent marketing and advertising strategy adopted by Reliance Jio. 3. The use of VOLTE Techonology is at the positive side for the company as there are no other operator provide the same. 13
  • 14. NEGATIVE OF RELIANCE JIO 1. Mobile number portability is not very smooth and Jio is expected large no. of customer would migrate from existing service provider. 2. 4G network was launched by other before Jio in market which made Jio to compete with other existing Network. 3. Company has inadequate fibre optic capacity and it requires Huge amount of money 14
