2. Mein Kampf Hitler s Fallacies
Adolf Hitler is considered one of the most influential speakers in history, and was able to
brainwash many people into believing every word he spoke. Hitler s Book Mein Kampf, expresses
his belief system, and the events that led up to his reign over Germany. Despite how persuasive the
book was, it was littered with logical fallacies throughout, but one of the most prominent was the
fallacy known as Begging the Question referring to an author that assumes something as truth
although it is yet be proven. Begging the question is used throughout the excerpt of Mein Kampf

extremely cost effective.

combination complemented each other in content and personal interest. My minor was not planned,

tasks and tests to evaluate their levels of development.
The last Piagetian task that Child 2 participated in was the moral task. It was very typical for him
to have answered in a premoral mindset this task because his age places him in Piaget s
heteronomous stage. In this stage which starts right around four years of age, according to Piaget,
children understand rules as the almighty, unchangeable laws of nature. They base most decisions

In the 1900 s, Cardiologist Dr. James B. Herrick referred his patient, Walter Clement Noel, to Dr.

In 1972, Dr. James V. Neel, chairman and founder of the Department of Human Genetics at the

Mr. Smith is portrayed as an honest man with strong opinions. He is the ideal politician in an
ideal society. The film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington depicts a reassuring image that happens to
be an image of the past (Wheeler). However, in today s legislature, people like Mr. Smith are rare
due to the fact that a politician s primary goal is re election. The good of the people may come as
another intention of a politician, but it is always secondary to bringing home the pork. There
should be more people like Mr. Smith because the legislature would be able to make decisions more

Taylor, a special interest group member, controlled everything Senator Paine did until he finally
decided to change. This denotes the impact that wealth can have in the government. The system
is designed so that things such as pork barreling can pass and sometimes need to pass in order
for a law to go through. This creates a system of lies and corruption, with members of the Senate
not looking out for the national good. Senators are forced to focus on improving their own
district because it is all they can do to ensure re election. The most successful Senators do this
because it gains short term approval from their district and gets them a future vote. This is a
method of maintaining their career, and is something they are in some cases forced to do. If
someone like Mr. Smith came in and was consistently free of corruption, people would vote for
him based on his truthfulness. The legislature s set up allows for corruption to exist in the
government. The government shutdown of 2013 ended after a deal was reached in the U.S. Senate
that included a provision that raised the spending cap on a dam construction project in Kentucky
(Hudak). In this case, 2.2 billion dollars were set aside for this project (Almasy). CNN s article

government shutdown, Senator Mitch McConnell still pushed for his rider to be added to the bill.

11. Lung Cancers And Its Effects
INTRODUCTION
What are lung cancers? Lung cancers are the abnormal cells which grow in uncontrolled manner
in one or both lungs. They do not function as normal lung cells and do not develop into healthy
lung tissue. The abnormal cells can grow, form tumours and interfere with the normal functions
of the lung (Lungcancer.org, 2015). Lung cancers can be divided into two major types, namely
non small cell lung cancers (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancers (SCLC). NSCLC can be
further classified into three main subtypes, namely adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma
and large cell carcinoma (Longo Harrison, 2012). Lung cancers can be diagnosed by chest X ray,
computerised tomography (CT) scan, positron emission tomography computerised tomography
(PET CT) scan, bronchoscopy and biopsy (Nhs.uk, 2015). Unfortunately, lung cancers are often
diagnosed at the later stages. This is due to the unrecognisable symptoms and warning signs at
the earlier stages. NSCLC are often diagnosed at stage IV which accounts for 30 40% of cases
whereas 60% of SCLC is diagnosed at stage IV. Lung cancerusually originates from the cells lining
the bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli. Carcinogens especially tobacco smoke will alter the gene
expression of the normal human lung cells, resulting in cell mutation. The proto oncogenes will be
converted to mutated form, oncogenes. Mutation leads to the decreased expression of the tumour
suppressor genes. This results in uncontrolled cell proliferation, cell

Motivation requires energy, and the manager of a company must be able to communicate with
the different diversities within the team and keep the team going down the right path. Statistics
say that high trusted teams created openness and create a positive atmosphere and better
performance. Another area that could cause a supervisor to have some issues with a high
performance team is to keep the team open minded. High performance team may run into the
process where they are not willing to listen to other team members opinion. This could cause the
vision to not be seen or, it can cause the company to not meet the objective because of a close
minded mentality. We discussed what areas may require more opportunities for coaching but,
what characteristics are good to have when managing a high performance team. In a self

High performance team can be self motivated do what is needed to complete the project given to

The Year That Changed The World
In The Year That Changed The World tells the first hand experience of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
The main factor in the collapse of the wall was the never ending fight of the individuals who had
fallen under the communist state. Most of these individuals came together and fought in order to
achieve their goal of a non communist state and German unification. The Cold Warwas the conflict
between the Eastern bloc (Communist) against the Western Bloc (Capitalist), the separation
between them began to be known as the Iron Curtain. The Berlin Wall was physical representation
of the war for most people, a city divided into two. This important part of history led to the
beginning of the Cold War period and the end. The fall of the Berlin Wall made 1989 the year that
changed the world. In The Year That Changed the World Meyer conveys that success is easily
accomplished in cooperation rather than separation.
Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall! President Ronald Reagan s famous expression, when he last
visited Berlin in 1987, as a clear call to bring the Cold War to an end. According to the United
States, we had won, so this side of history goes; because Ronald Reagan stood his ground against
the Soviet Union, America had toppled the communist empire. Michael Meyer, a reporter who was
in Eastern Europe at the time for Newsweek, has a different side.

Maternal Depression
Depression is a prevalent issue among women. Approximately 25% of women in will have a major
depressive disorder at least once in their lifetime and 15% of the female population will experience
post partum depression. (Women and Mental Illness, 2003) With these numbers, it is obvious that
maternal depression has profound effect on the Canadian family. Mother have the most influence in
a child s life, since they generally more involved in raising the children then men are. In most cases,
this influence serves to direct the child to healthy development. But when the mother is suffering
from depression, what effect does it have on the intellectual and emotional development of her
child? The child is definitively affected starting as early as infancy and through adolescence.
Depression: Symptoms and Causes
Depression may be simply defined as a state of sadness. Many may feel depressed for a short time
when things do not go their way, but when this feeling persists and interferes with daily activity a
doctor may diagnose an individual with clinical depression and order medication. Genetic
predisposition, personal problems, and seasonal hormonal changes are some of the many things that
may trigger depression. A depressed individual may encounter feelings of despair and sadness,
constant fatigue, constant headaches, among other things. If left untreated, depression may lead to
suicide. (Mood Disorders, 2003)

Nitrites are a group of chemicals including cyclohexyl nitrite, amyl nitrite, and butyl nitrite. Instead
of acting on the central nervous system for the euphoric effect, nitrites dilate blood vessels,

clear, yellowish liquid that is sold in a cloth, covered sealed bulb. This type of nitrite is also
known as a snapper or popper because the bulb makes a snapping sound when it is broken
(Missouri Department of Mental Health, n.d.). On the other hand, butyl nitrite comes in small
bottles sold as video head cleaner, room odorizer, leather cleaner and liquid aroma (NIDA, 2010).

may also experience nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, hallucinations, and delusions ( Inhalants ,

Deb Dennis Moir
Big, Scary Research Paper
23 November 2014
Media Representation of Art Crime
Art Crime has become the encircling phrase used by law enforcement and art crime scholars to
classify the field of inquiry involving crimes against art and cultural property. According to recent
data from the FBI Art Crime Division, the $66 billion global art market is estimated to lose $8
billion annually to art crimes involving theft, looting, fraud, and trafficking surpassed only by the
drug and gun trafficking trades (FBI). Recent studies have confirmed that many insurgent groups
and terrorists organizations ISIS and Al Qaeda are funding their wars through the sales and trade of
art and cultural objects. (Haken, National Geographic). When you mix art with criminal trafficking
and the underworld associations of the black market, a clear picture of trouble fills the canvas. The
aim of this paper is to examine the various aspects of the crime genre in film and television and to
illustrate that the artificial image of the Hollywood art thief detracts from the understanding of and
attitude towards the serious threat that art theft and illegal trafficking pose to the global community.
This analysis has been done using research on art cases, crime theory and through the exploration
of film and television having to do with crimes involving art.

19. Lab Report On Catalase
Observation: The enzyme catalase naturally existing in yeast reacts with H2O2 to create oxygen
and water, causing a yeast soaked paper to float after a certain amount of time.
Problem/Info: Enzymes are large protein structures, also known as macromolecules and catalysts.
They aid in the acceleration of chemical reactions by binding to another substance known as a
substrate, converting it into different products that are more easily broken down called products.
Only a small portion of the enzyme actually aids in catalyzing the substrate: the active site. When an
enzyme is in specific conditions they tend to react quicker while in other, generally extreme,
conditions the enzyme can be broken apart and rendered unusable, this is called denaturation. In the
experiments conducted, an enzyme known as catalase, generally found in yeast, will be soaked onto
a tiny paper circle and dropped into hydrogen peroxide H2O2. The catalase will break the hydrogen
peroxide into oxygen and water. The oxygen inside of the paper will eventually be in a quantity
that causes the paper to rise to the top of the hydrogen peroxide. The entire experiment is based off
of observations of this piece of paper.
Experiment 1
Hypothesis: Diluting the yeast will make the paper take longer to float.
Prediction: If the yeast is diluted, then there will be less enzyme and the paper will take longer to
float.
Conclusion: The yeast was tested multiple times at different concentrations of 100%, 50%, and

Since the beginning of time, humans have sought after power and control. It is human instinct
to desire to be the undisputed champion, but when does it become a problem? Warfare has been
practiced throughout civilization as a way to justify power. Though the orders come directly
from one man, thousands of men and women pay the ultimate sacrifice. In Randall Jerrell s The
Death of a Ball Turret Gunner , Jarrell is commenting on the brutality of warfare. Not only does
Jarrell address the tragedies of war, he also blames politics, war leaders, and the soldier s
acknowledgement of his duties. (Hill 6) With only five lines of text, his poems allows the reader
to understand what a soldier can go through. With the use of Jerrell s poem, The Vietnam War,
and Brian Turner s Ameriki Jundee , the truth of combat will be revealed. To understand what a

21. Relationship Maintenance In Long Distance Relationships
The Statistic Brain Research Institute states 14 million people [Americans] considered themselves
to be in a long distance relationship and cannot see partners cannot see each other face to face daily
like geographically close relationships (Long Distance Relationship Statistics). These high numbers
make relationship maintenance for long distance relationships all the more viable for discussion.
Due to the distance, long distance relationships present unique obstacles such as lack of physical
contact, increased financial burdens to maintain relationships, and high expectations of partners for
the quality of limited face to face meetings in the relationship. Therefore, a different type of
relationship maintenance will be presented in order to assist long distance couples from becoming
part of the failed 70%. A relationship maintenance model will be compared to scenarios and
suggestions will be made in order create a stronger relationship through communicationfor both
parties involved in long distance relationships.
SMS and SNS are powerful devices that strengthen interpersonal communication between couples
because they allow validation which is difficult to achieve in long distance relationships. In close
distant relationships couples, SMS and SNS are supports to offline relationship maintenance
processes; however due to the lack of opportunity to engage in relationship processes in LDR, SMS
and SNS becomes a channel to express relationship maintenance. Relationship

Case Trimmer:
Because brass cases can stretch after firing and resizing, trimming is sometimes necessary to
ensure proper case length. There are many different types and styles of case trimmers. They are
typically manually operated or motorized. Most trimmers require a shell holder and pilot specific to
the caliber being trimmed.
Deburring Tool:
A tool used to deburr and chamfer the case mouth after case trimming. These are typically
universal, designed to work on all cases.
Calipers:
A caliper is a tool used to measure the empty case length after resizing and the trimming
operations. Calipers are also used to check the case overall length (COL). These can be either a dial

23. Steel Town Case Study Jamestown
Steeltown U.S.A. was a great read! I enjoyed reading all about Youngstown and the challenges
the town had to face. Chapter 4: From Steel Town to a Nice Place to Do Time was personally
one of the best chapters in the book. It was so terribly sad to read about everything the once
successful industrialized town had later became. In only twenty short years, Youngstown had
evolved into this corrupt place; they even went as far to call it the murder capital. Once the mills
shut down, the town took a major downfall. Poverty, drugs, and crime started to replace the legacy
Youngstown once held. Before reading this book, I had no idea that the steel millclosings could
cause a town so much damage. What I came to understand was that the closings... Show more

The mills were closing down because the supply for steel had greatly decreased. The town s lack
of industrialization caused other businesses to relocate, so the steel workers were not left with
many options. Also, during this time period, it was not very common for women to have a full
time job: the steel families really had no option but to leave, but for some that was impossible. I
struggle with wrapping my mind around the trouble and heartache these families faced in hopes
that Youngstown would find a way out. Knowing very little about Youngstown, I felt that the
authors did a nice job revealing information on the town and what it had been through. The
struggle the families and community faced was saddening, but it was really interesting to see
how they worked together in hopes to restore the town. A few things I really enjoyed about
Steeltown U.S.A. were the pictures displayed throughout the book. The picture from the New
Republic issue on page 192 with the billboard stating Welcome to Youngstown with the bullet
holes was my favorite. Could you imagine the feeling that one would have driving into a town
with a billboard covered in bullet holes? I know I would do my best to get out of that town as fast
as I could! It was terrible how the crime labeled Youngstown. The photographs captured in the book
really helped me visualize Youngstown and helped my understanding of the atmosphere the town

Christian love mainly aims a change of relation in the heart in a more internal level before God in a
more conscience manner. Throughout this section it points out that Christianity does not go out its
way to change external but instead change internal where the conscience comes to play.
Kierkegaard makes it clear that love is matter of conscience in which Christianity focuses on
more on the internal side more when it comes down to making any changes. Through your
conscience one can make the decision to love the person they want in the true love way, which
is before God. God and Christianity is a big part of someone because love is developed or even
expressed in that person conscience where they have learned how to truly love. Kierkegaard
emphasizes on the conscience in order to be able to understand the concept of love in a deeper
level. Through this God holds the individuals responsible for their own conscience. There is still
no doubt that other will oppose of the command that Love is a matter of Conscience , but it will
still be tested and tried until it gets accepted or once again opposed. Overall, this section has
explained that since love actually is the matter of the conscience, other type of love must remain
lower than the love a Christian learned to have. Kierkegaard stated, Love is a matter of
conscience and must therefore be from a pure heart and sincere faith (147). With this to end it
simply explains that a pure heart which is consider to be good and is able to love others after
they have loved God then one with a strong faith in Christianity is able to understand that love is
part of the conscience. This allows the person to grasp to what love is really is and how to love in a

From a religious point of view, if God had thought homosexuality is a sin, he would not have

The music industry is changing in the respect that single songs and playlists are dominating entire

In another perspective, fatherhood for Gardner is like a job for him. Because he loses his wife,
he needs to provide joy, fun and help for his son Christopher which is not an easy job to do.
Those fathers, who spend more time with their children, have a better life than others who spend
most of their time working and gaining money. However, being a father as a single parent like
Chris gives him the enthusiasm to do his best and replace his wife s role to have a better life
with his son. Yet, this decreases the happiness that Gardner possesses. According to Scott
Coltrane, a sociologist at the University of California, points out that Father s style of parenting
has changed too. Fathers are beginning to look more like mothers (qtd. in Cullen and
Grossman). Before Linda leaves the family, she works double shifts to make more money to
afford the living expenses and to help her husband. So Chris is the one who takes more care of
their son than the mother, Linda. Gardner seems to be happier being close to his son. There are
many scenes in the movie that show how Gardner and Christopher are happy of being together.
Nonetheless, there is only one scene that Christopher not even misses his mother; instead he asks
did mom leave because of me? (The Pursuit of Happyness). This indicates that Gardner does a great
job of being a single parent that makes his son, not remembering his mother. For fathers, home

Cooper defines homework as task assigned to students by school teachers that are meant to be
carried out during non school hour. (Cooper 2015) However, is it effective enough to justify its
extension of the six hours of school students experience each weekday? As Bennett explains in
Must Won t Do It! , Much attention is placed on helping students develop as complex and creative
thinkers, yet many classrooms continue to use learning structures without examining their
effectiveness. This is often the case with homework. Research findings on the effectiveness of
homework are mixed, and few studies have examined students and educators perspectives on the
benefits of homework as a learning structure (Bennet). Our current structure of homework may be
achieving the opposite of what it needs to do.
More than any other aspect of education, homework has been the cause of more friction between
schools and home and becomes the prime battlefield when schools, families, and communities view
one another as adversaries. Recent homework debates in this country have centered on questions of
how much homework at which grades produce what kinds of learning gains. A recent analysis of
homework research by the Center for Public Education (2007) found that homework at the
elementary level is counterproductive, while homework in middle and high school shows some
correlation with small increases in test scores. But those findings do not hold across the board.

40. Essie s Short Stories
Woman with a Plan
Essie s mother always said that if she didn t like something, she should either change it or change
her attitude, but Essie was born to complain, and to be fair, her life was painfully, indisputably
dull. It was as dull as waiting for nail polish to dry. It was as dull as a poorly written, rambling
narrative. It was dull as the useless pencil that she could use to finally put herself out of her misery.
Click, click, click. The sound of her lifeless colleagues typing echoed throughout the office. She
scanned the room, numbers filling her brain. Old Artie next to her worked away, hunched over
with thick glasses resting loosely on the bridge of his nose. She counted the greasy clumps of hair
in his combover; to her surprise, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She groaned for the twelfth time that day, and stood up, trying to dust the sand off of her faux
designer pantsuit. It was, however, pointless; the sand was in her shoes, in her hair, and in her
eyes. The sand had already consumed her, so resistance was futile. Essie grumbled and scanned her
surroundings.
Great. The sky is gross and sad, the sand hurts and literally ruined my outfit, and I bet the water is
gross, too! This beach sucks, and I hate it more than I hate Diane.
While Essie was no longer a woman with a plan, she was still a woman who couldn t turn down a
bet, even if that bet was with herself. She decided to investigate, flinging her socks and shoes
across the sand as she pulled up her pants and braced herself. She flinched as the water rushed
over her toes. Essie may have been a lot of things, but she definitely wasn t wrong. For some
reason, however, she didn t run off before the next wave came

41. Review Of Degikup Basket By Louisa Keyser
Firstly, the craftwork that I would like to review is called Degikup Basket by Louisa Keyser.
The artist was also known as Datsolalee who was a Washoe Native American basket maker.
Degikup Basket is basically a large basket that consist small flat base but wider in the middle and
then same diameter as base for the hole at the top. In other words, the craft produced is almost
similar to a bird nest which has the concave side and smaller top. Moreover, the craft work get
the people attention after it has been documented by Keyser s sponsor who sees the art talent
that she had. Apart from that, the interesting part about the basket is it is created through a
weaving process by hands which suggest that it is carefully produced. It could be seen that the
influence on the conception of this craftwork are based on Keyser s living place. The exterior of
the craftwork is likely to store a traditional value and symbolize her community custom. The
simplicity portrayed by the design indicates its friendly function as it serves either as a place to
keep miscellaneous items or acts as a collection to the people. In addition, the craftwork also
could be considered as unique due to its abstract design. Since Keyser is from Washoe Indian tribe
in Nevada, the materials she used to weave the basket are easily obtained in the nature. The basket
is constructed using three different things which are willow, Redbud and bracken fern root. The
important material is the willow because it is the

42. The Modern Day Legal Systems
Human civilization marked the beginning of modern day legal systems. The advancements in
societies resulted in maintaining certain rules and regulations to continue this progress. Every
society has its own set of laws which are in some ways distinct from others. Many of these laws
have common sections and underlying guidelines. This could be because some societies decide
to retain certain aspects of their customs after breaking out of another society. It could also be the
case that over time different societies through trade and other intercultural activities developed
together, which caused them to have agreements in their laws. For many others, it is the case that
they share a common colonial master. The law and legal systems operating today are derivatives
of the forms listed above. Like many other nations today, the laws of ancient civilizations have
affected Canadian law. These include the Code of Hammurabi, the Mosaic law, Greek and Roman
laws, the Magna Carta and a few others. More recently are the civil and common law derived from
the French and British respectively. Canadadid not always have a written constitution. The territory
we now refer to as Canada was once populated by the French and English colonial masters. These
colonists extended the laws of their home countries to their colonies. As the population of this
territory grew and the UK gained control of more colonies including those from the French, regional
laws became a necessity. Between the eighteenth

43. Is Language In Interaction
One of the first things that comes into your mind when you hear the word language is
communication, isn t it? However language is much more than just communication. Language is
what makes you different from other human beings. Thanks to it, you can communicate with others,
express who you are, your ideas, feelings, thoughts, discomforts, etc. With languageyou can even
change the world, you can hurt a person or you can love a person. Language has many more aspects
than what you might think, some of them are: language choice, code switching, language in
interaction and finally language and gender.
The first aspect that language has is language choice in which, you can choose what kind of
language you want to use for a conversation. For example, when you talk to your friends you use a
certain type of language and when you talk to your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According with Mesthrie R. language in interaction is how speakers use language in interaction
with others, how they hold conversations, tell stories, make jokes, argue or tease one another (2009,
p.183). In easier words, language in interaction is linguistic exchange. There are some
characteristics in Language in interaction:
Construction of identity: it refers to your interaction with others, you construct an identity which
includes your ethnic identity, national identity, cultural identity, gender, age, status etc. And this
construction of identity occurs through face to face interaction. However, not necessarily in every
interaction you construct all of these aspects. An illustration of these would be: when you talk to
others you get a self concept by the way that you act, move, express or talk.
Face to face interaction: refers to when you are talking to others physically present in real time.
For example when you are talking in a video call with your friends of another country or also it
can be when you are talking with your boyfriend in a

When I was a child, my father always came to me and told me a quote, but over the years I have
changed it into my own and now I live by it everyday: Tomorrow is a brand new day, and a gift
from yesterday. If you ve failed, rise from your ashes and create your own path and leave a trail
behind because you cannot take others paths to live your life. Life is your adventure and what
you make of it. I have always loved life and the people that are in it. Since I was a child I have had
the biggest dreams of going and doing anything I wanted to be and that nothing was going to stop
me. To pursue and make that any dream come true I focused on these three things: being
determined, encouraging others, and hardworking.

After the first semester, we will be shadowing nurses in the Salida Hospital and seeing what they
deal with hand on hand.
With that, I have always loved helping people break not only from their comfort zone but helping
them achieve better than they have before. An example of this is when someone needs help, I ask
them what is stopping them from achieving, I push and make them fight for what they want. This
same tactic is what a nurse needs to help her/him succeed in encouraging patients that they can do
it. I attended the 2017 Summer Student Council Camp, and just telling my story of pushing
through my rough patch in my life encouraged others to say to themselves they don t only have it
hard too , and I saw personally how my story affected them and they pushed harder and took life in
a different perspective.
Additionally, I have always put my heart and soul into all that I do, I have always strived and
been a very hardworker. For instance, I worked weeks on a paper for entering the Sangre De Cristo
Youth Tour for the Colorado Electric Assassination and after all my hours of putting thoughtand
organizing papers, I won the trip to Washington DC through my Electric Co op, which was an
honor all in itself. After all my recovering after surgery I kept on my game and I was later
rewarded as student of the month. During school hours teachers have to teach instead of printing
off their papers, so that is where I come in. I have been a teacher assistant for

46. Effects Of Recasts And Prompts On L2 Learners
Ammar and Spada (2006) investigated the effects of recasts and prompts on L2 learners written
and oral ability across different proficiency levels. The study fits in with the previous research,
as in previously the focus of research was just based on CF being a solution for low levels of
grammatical efficiency, which have been explained as the proof against the accuracy of
understandable input and exceptionally meaning based direction. The researchers have thus
proposed FFI in CF, which is based both on reactive and proactive form of feedback and which
has been proposed by the researchers as the most important way of attracting the learners towards
language form in case of communicative classroom environment. The main motivation, just as in
previous article, is to explore the form focused instruction as alternative way of instruction so as to
make CF more proactive as well as reactive. The main hypothesis of this researchis that learners
who have been more exposed to the communicative activities including components of the CF
would probably get more benefits as compared to those who are exposed only to the
communicative activities alone. For this purpose, there were 64 students, who were divided into
three different groups in ESL classes in Montreal and there were two experimental conditions that
were applied to them. One group had received the CF in the form of prompts as well as recasts.
Similarly, other was the control group. The target structure was third person

49. Milkman s Use Of Contrast And Mirror Images In Chapter Five
Chapter 5 presents a series of contrasts and mirror images that reflect the tenuous relationships
between various characters and provide conflicting perspectives on love, sex, and survival.
Milkman s pondering his impending death at the hands of Hagar, his distraught ex lover, at the
beginning of the chapter evokes many similar references to the presence of death throughout the
novel. For example, note that Milkman s picturing his own death as a spurt of wine red blood
foreshadows Hagar s funeral scene at the end of Chapter 13, when a sympathetic wino drops his
liquor bottle, spurting emerald glass and jungle red wine everywhere. Resigned to let Hagar kill
him if she wants to and can, Milkman is almost exhilarated by thoughts of death:

51. Compare And Contrast Sea Lion And Sea Lions
Seals and sea lions are not the same Even though both sea animals are professional in the water
they have a lot of differences. Like sea lions have external ear flaps and seals have a small holes
for ears. Sea lions have a flexible pelvic girdle that enables them to move more easily on the land.
To more more easily they rotate their hind flipper underneath their bodies to walk other animals.
They use their front flippers to propel forward in the water. Sea lions also sleep with all of their
flippers under their body s. 2. Adapted to the environment A modern animal is adapted to the
aquatic environment. They use their rear flippers to move on the land more easily. Sea lions
have thick layers of blubber to keep them warm in water. When they are diving they slow down
their heart rate to stay in the water for long periods of times. They sleep on land and they have
many sleeping gestures. All of their flippers are tucked under their bodies when they sleep on
the beach. 3. Sea lions live in colonies The way sea lions live is they live in huge colonies to
protect one another. They can be seen gather at seaside. Most sea lions live along the rocky
Pacific Ocean and pups are born on land so. Sea lions have adapted well to the water and they
have thick layers of blubber that adapt well to the cold marine water. With the streamlined
strength and powerful flippers it helps the sea lions move easier on the land. 4. The way sea lions

goes to great lengths to give both Legally Blonde And Trifles a fair evaluation. The does this
quite well by being extremely fair to both sides. She often uses quotes to give a accurate

Similarities and Differences in the Rise of the Roman and Mayan Civilizations
Between 600 BCE and 600 CE, the Mayan Civilization in Mesoamerica and the Roman
Civilization rose to the height of their power. Rome was rapidly growing as a Republic and then
Empire, creating a legacy throughout Europe and Asia that would leave a lasting impact for
centuries. The Empire conquered land by use of political force, religious unity, and maintaining
power through a strong economy. The Mayans were heavily based around religion. It was used as
a motivation to expand their civilization, gaining political power and a strong economy. However,
they were not considered an Empire due to decentralization of government. The rise of the Mayans
and the Romans differed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Mayan political system was divided into city states, where each had their own government,
similarly to Ancient Greece. During the rise of the civilization, a social hierarchy was created,
with religious figures and priests at the top granting them political power. This allowed for
society to be dominated by religion, and for political figures to use religion to monopolize
power and support. The Mayans expanded their civilization to gain more human sacrifices, or in
the name of their religion, opposed to the Romans who expanded for political power. However,
the Romans had very centralized systems of government. During the rise of the Republic, the
new ideology of democracy and the defeat of the Persian Empire in the Persian War allowed for a
societal belief in a strong government to rise. The Roman people believed that they have a strong
centralized government, and people became increasingly greedy for power. Change occurred in
Roman political power during the rise of the Empire. When Alexander the Great expanded the
Roman Empire to the height of its political control by conquering nations throughout Europe and
Asia, the greed for power is evident. The centralization of the Roman government allowed for
expansion of the Empire through economic and religious growth, monopolizing control of trade
throughout its territory and spreading religious ideology through the enforced religious unity and

http://map.feedingamerica.org/county/2014/overall . USDA defines food insecurity as a
household level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food.
While it may be the assumption that larger areas of food insecurity are in the more densely
populated areas, you can see that in areas of Lumpkin County this not the case. In Union County it
appears that food insecurity is not nearly as prevalent. A deeper look will show that considering
more factors is necessary when determining need. Some of the counties GMFB services have large
rural areas where transportation can be a barrier as well as limited access to food sources near
them. Figure 1 below also indicates the locations of the agencies GMFB supports and gives us a
clear picture of how well we are meeting the areas of need as well as any gaps.
Dawson County appears at first glance as a county with a large area of moderately high level of
food insecurity in the northwestern part of the county and a smaller area with a low level of food
insecurity in the southeastern part of the county. Notwithstanding, this is a very rural county where
schools and social services are all located in a central location. Limited transportation is a barrier for
this county. Limited access to transportation can in include no or limited access to public
transportation and/or no access to reliable transportation. Dawson County has limited public
