2. PE REFLECTION
• The overall reflection of PE has been very interesting and substantial.
The tutorials and lectures have provided me with extra knowledge about
certain procedures and tactics in which I can now take with me when I
am employed. My approach toward Pe has become more Relaxed and
comfortable, this is due to now having the extra knowledge about
certain topics as well as understanding how to reply to children with
challenging questions, being able to talk comfortably about a topic to
the class and making sure to be as helpful and as enjoyable as possible
with the knowledge that has been provided. The learning activities have
helped me understand and gain knowledge of concepts about children
as we have been shown a basic idea of how it feels to be teachers
through the interesting topics and activities we had completed.
• I feel good about going into a class because I have now become more
confident, I feel like I have the skills to teach children in the appropriate
manner even when its something different and difficult. Pe has given me
the basic tools and guidelines and I have been able to acquire enough
information from the Pe classes to be able to teach.
3. PDH REFLECTION
• By attending the pdh practical sessions I have learned how important it is
to have an active lifestyle and also the benefits that children get from being
active, I have learned a variety of skills and tactics that I can use in my
future pdh classes, they include teaching sports, movement, dance and
rhythm, as well as gaining a broader perspective on game sense and what it
provides for children. The overall experience of pdh has been enjoyable yet
very informative, I have gained knowledge about children’s capabilities, I
now will use my knowledge in my own classrooms in the future as I
understand what types of practical activities would suit each stage.
• I have received a deeper understanding of concepts through the PDHPE
syllabus including aspects of an individual’s wellbeing, mental, physical,
social and spiritual health. Students develop a further understanding of
knowledge, skills, values and attitudes as this allows children to fulfil their
needs of wellbeing and to live a healthy lifestyle, which will give kids a well-rounded
balance in life. I feel more comfortable about talking to children
about practical activities because now I feel like I understand it well enough
to be able to pass on what I have learnt as I have the resources and
knowledge and also the confidence to help and teach children to be active
and to appreciate what PDH has to offer. I have also become more mindful
about child safety, an example of child safety would be sun protection.
4. Summary
• Overall this unit has provided me with
knowledge and power in order for me to go
into a school and being confident to teach
students about what I have gained and
understood from both PE and PDH classes.
