Essay On Getting Organized For Divorce
Getting Organized for Divorce
A divorce is an emotional, stressful, and exhausting time in a couple s life. The dissolution of a
marriage, when paired with attempting to understand the legal process of a divorce, is overwhelming
and confusing for most individuals. Although this is a difficult time, each party must try to set
emotions aside and prepare for each phase of the divorce process.
In any divorce, there are a number of issues that must be resolved. Property must be divided, and
custody and visitation with the couple s children must be arranged. Will alimony be paid? Will the
divorce proceed on a fault based ground, or is one spouse accusing the other of causing the divorce?
Each party must consider the claims and defenses in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, many individuals become blinded by their emotions, and make irrational decisions
during this time that damage their case. If you are going through a divorce, make sure to follow these
tips.
Listen to your divorce attorney. Your attorney s job is to offer objective, rational advice throughout the
case. If your attorney says that certain actions should or should not be taken, follow that advice.
Do not play games. When your spouse s attorney asks for certain documents during the case, or seeks
certain information, do not pretend that you do not have it or cannot get it. Such behavior is not
tolerated well by judges.
Remain honest throughout the divorce process. You may be held in contempt of court or be ordered to
pay your spouse s attorneys fees if you are caught lying during sworn testimony or in notarized
statements.
You must be open with your attorney. If you made mistakes during the marriage, own up to them so
that your attorney may prepare accordingly. Your attorney does not want to find out that you had an
affair during a court proceeding.
Similarly, stay in touch with your attorney and keep your attorney informed as to issues you and your
spouse discuss so that your attorney may take appropriate action when

Essay on Comparing the Two Versions of To Build a Fire
Comparing the Two Versions of To Build a Fire
I am absolutely confident that beyond the motif itself, there is no similarity of treatment whatever
(544). Jack London, writing in December 1908, was responding to an inquiry from the Richard W.
Gilder, editor of Century Magazine. Gilder, having just published To Build a Fire in his magazine, was
worried when he came across another version published 6 years earlier. London s explanation was that
the first story was for boys and the new one was for men; the only similarity being the motif itself.
Through careful analysis of the two stories, in light of this letter to Gilder, and another letter to
Cloudesly Johns, it is apparent that although London claims no similarities ... Show more content on

This ending more clearly illustrates the dangers of the Klondike. The first version is more a morality
tale, ending with the moral of Never travel alone! (62). The second version is more of a good short
story, with the ending that is, regrettably, all too common in that part of the world. The main character
never gets a chance to change his ways and travel with a companion the proverbial next time. He
learns the lesson with the most severest of consequences: death. Another interesting difference is the
fact that in the 1902 version the main character is Tom Vincent; however in the second version, the
man has no name. This gives the main character in the 1908 version a feeling of universality.
In 1900, before either of these two stories was published, Jack London wrote a letter to a good friend,
Cloudesly Johns, explaining his philosophy on good fiction writing. This letter is an invaluable
resource when studying the work of Jack London, especially when comparing the two versions of To
Build a Fire. London emphasized quite a bit in this letter with many exclamation points and capital
letters. That was only because of the passion with which he was writing about writing. His main point
was to not be to scientific, or empirically (530) scientific. He explains not to tell the reader what your
philosophy is, but rather to have the characters tell it by their deeds, actions, talk, etc. (531). He then
moves on to talk about atmosphere, and

Jazz Music In The 1920 s
Jazz music is a blend of white middle class thoughts and African American traditions. Jazz originated
in New Orleans in the beginning of the 1920 s. The Jazz Age was from 1920 through 1929. During the
1920 s, the First World War had just ended in 1918 and the Great Depression was affecting the citizens
of the United States. Jazz music and dancing helped people forget about the terrible Great Depression.
It gave the citizens a reason to be happy and love life during the 1920 s. The new form of music
allowed people to express themselves in new ways. Jazz music was influenced by African American
musicians, changed the music industry all over the world, and affected the society. There were many
jazz musicians. Louis Armstrong is one of the most important jazz figures. Louis Armstrong is one of
the first great soloists in the 1920 s musicians. His career rose in New Orleans. He influenced other
jazz musicians by his fearless trumpet styles and distinctive vocals. Louis gave jazz music a purpose.
He spread jazz throughout the world. Fletcher Henderson also influenced jazz music. He was an
extraordinary musician and he impacted jazz music immensely. Without the jazz musicians, jazz
music would not have been possible. With the assistance of the jazz musicians, the music industry ...

Difference Between Uxi And Ux
Looking for a one liner and easy to understand difference between UI and UX design ? Just so you
know, you have stumbled upon just the right source.
In a layman language, UX is the experience that a person has as they interact with your product and
UI is basically the look and feel of the product.
Ofcourse this is the simplest version of the UX and UI definition and is giving a very limited view of
the subject. And obviously for a detailed version, one will have to dive in deep.
Let s understand it in bits and pieces first.
What is UX?
The technical definition given by Don Norman and Jakob Nielsen says, The first requirement for an
exemplary user experience is to meet the exact needs of the customer, without fuss or bother. Next,
comes simplicity and elegance that produce products that are a joy to own, a joy to use.

What s the difference between UI and UX?
Go through the take of various influencers on the subject.
1. Ken Norton Partner at Google Ventures, Ex Product Manager at Google
Start with a problem we d like to solve. UX design is focused on anything that affects the user s
journey to solve that problem, positive or negative, both on screen and off. UI design is focused on
how the product s surfaces look and function. The user interface is the only piece of that journey. I like
the restaurant analogy I ve heard others use: UI is the table, chair, plate, glass, and utensils. UX is
everything from the food, to the service, parking, lighting, and music.
2. Andy Budd Co founder of Clearleft, Founder of UX London
Common logic would suggest that, if you design the UI, and a person experiences a product through
the UI, that makes you a User Experience Designer. However, this would also imply that designing
your own home makes you an architect, and fixing a tap makes you a

Music. The building was designed by Gordon W. Lloyd an English architect that mostly worked in
United States. Lloyd is known for his work with Episcopal churches and cathedrals in the states of
Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The Wright Kay building was constructed for the F. J.

The topic of medical Marijuana brings much controversy when discussing amongst people that are for
it or against it. Medical Marijuana has been the heated topic of discussion for the past few years now
mainly for it s medical benefits and the fight to decriminalize the herb.
There have been many miracle stories that support the idea of legalizing it for its medicinal purposes.
One story that brought much attention to the issue was how the strand, Charlotte s Web™ , that is
increasingly changing many people s lives, became known.

Organic Farming Chapter Summary
This chapter was about the struggle of living with locally grown food and cloth diapers. Colin Beavan
got in touch with some foodies and asked what they did for eating environmentally conscience. And
Colin and his wife found other activities to do during their normal TV time, like preparing ingredients
for their meals and spending time with their friends. Colin even went as far as to visit the farm that he
gets his milk from just to see if the farmer s ideals lined up with his.
This chapter brought up a good point about the antibiotics regulations for organic farming. As
someone who was once a member of 4 H if you are planning on raising market animals the healthier
the animal is the better. So when the USDA set the no antibiotics standard for market animals to be
considered organic is unrealistic because in order to have a shot at raising healthy animals they need to
get shots to keep them from getting sick. And this doesn t just apply to 4 H, it applies to commercial
farms too and that s why some of them treat their animals so badly. Commercial farms try to follow
the USDA rules but aren t making enough money to keep their animals healthy so when they get sick
the animals are hurriedly pushed to get well without the use of vet care, because that s money that they
could use to buy more animals instead of trying to care for the ones they have. This doesn t condone
the methods the commercial farms use but it is easier to care for the animals better when you are a 4 H
er and raising 1 3 animals per year as opposed to a factory farm raising 60 70 animals per year.

Sally Cabaret Essay
Cabaret starts off with the main character Sally Bowles, who is a burlesque dancer who works at Kit
Kat Klub. Sally Bowles character is based off on the same Sally Bowlers in Goodbye to Berlin . I
believe the interpretation of Sally Bowles is similar to the book, but I conceived her character is too
overly sexual in the movie, compared to the book. I think that Sally is over sexualized in the movie,
because she is seen a lot of time in skimpy clothes. Sally Bowles meets an Oxford student name Brian

Bangladesh Is On The Right Track

October 16, 2015
Bangladesh is on The Right Track Bangladesh, the eight most populated country in the world has been
plagued by poverty for a long time. In the year 2000, the United Nations created the Millennium
Development Goals, the purpose was to decrease extreme poverty by 2015. Thus, when Goal 1;
eradicating extreme poverty and hunger was included in the project, Bangladesh was targeted as the
country is overpopulated and has a high rate of unemployment. A considerable number of Bangladeshi
chose to migrate to other Asian countries in hopes of better life. Bangladesh has made commendable
progress in achieving the MDGs, especially in alleviating poverty. The first MDG of eradicating
extreme poverty and hunger is possible for Bangladesh to achieve due to efficient government
programs, assistance from NGOs, and the positive impact of migration. Understanding the factors that
causes Bangladesh to be a poor country is vital. The main cause is overpopulation. Bangladesh is
considered a small country when compared to it s population of more than 150 million people.
Therefore, the resources cannot be distributed equally. Bangladesh is also a country that is prone to
natural disasters such as floods. Many of the rural poor live in areas that are exposed to extreme
annual flooding which will lead to devastating damage to their crops, homes and livelihoods. The
victims often resort to moneylenders, which doesn

The Political Economy Model Of Migration Policy
Gary Freeman suggests the gap between rhetoric and reality is best described in a political economic
account of migration policy. The political economy model of migration is modelled on the interests of
three sets of rational actors: voters, organised groups and state actors who attempts to maximize their
individual goals subject to state interests in different contexts (Freeman, 2002). The first is post
industrial change, which suggests stances on immigration policy are better viewed as interests defined
by social groups (Freeman, 2002: 84). The second is the spatial account, where the population
compete for finite resources in densely settled areas exacerbated by strong advocates of immigration
in these locations, such as businesses which could help explain the gap between rhetoric and action.
The third is the international approach, where state protectionism regulates the trade of goods and
people. If immigration is economically beneficial to the state, it will continue regardless of public
sentiments. As social welfare effects are key determinants of a countries migration policy , if
migration stimulates the economy, it will have a positive impact on society (Freeman, 2002: 88).
Liberal and International Norms
Liberal norms influence policy outcomes. Hollifield is concerned with the political interests that drive
migration policy in the face of liberalism. [S]overeignty requires a degree of territorial closure , which
the liberal state increasingly calls into

American Pirsoners Of War In Vietnam Essay
Prisoners of War (POWs): In international law, term used to designate incarcerated members of the
armed forces of an enemy, or noncombatants who render them direct service and who have been
captured during wartime.1
This definition is a very loose interpretation of the meaning of Prisoners of War (POWs). POWs
throughout history have received harsh and brutal treatment. Prisoners received everything from
torture to execution. However, in recent times efforts have been made to reduce these treatments and
to get humane treatment for POWs. These attempts include the Geneva Convention of 1949.
Unfortunately, during the Vietnam Conflict, these rules of war were not always obeyed, as they are

Not a specific torture, but a very painful experience that POWs had to deal with everyday, was hunger.
Malnutrition, and hunger became a POW s worst enemy, and led to many of the 114 deaths among the
prisoners.
Another excruciating obstacle that prisoners sometimes faced was torture. Torture was against the
Geneva Accords, but then again, so were many other acts that the NVA and Vietcong (VC) committed
against American POWs. Torture sometimes only consisted of a few blows with a bamboo stick, to an
all out beating until the prisoner was unconscious, to sometimes even worse acts of violence.
They grabbed him off the stool, backward, out the doorway of the bamboo house, across a muddy
yard to an even smaller outbuilding...Two more guards burst into the crowded little room and

Behind him, three of the soldiers got to work with a length of rough hemp rope. They tied a series of

Thru Cole s The Expulsion From The Garden Of Eden
During the nineteenth century, artists wanted to create awareness of nature before it changed
completely. The landscape paintings represent more than the beauty of nature: it can trigger a memory,
tell a story, document a moment. Thru Cole s painting of 1828, where he illustrates the story of Adam
and Eve expulsion from the Paradise land, I remember the moment when I returned to Venezuela after
spending one year abroad. The Expulsion from the Garden of Eden is based on the biblical metaphor
of Adam and Eve; who had the opportunity to live in a paradise land, with the exception that they
wouldn t consume a fruit from a specific tree. This was known as the forbidden fruit and if they were
to eat it, their time in that world would be over and they would be sent to a different world where hard
work has required to obtain what you desired. It might be a strange comparison: a biblical proverb and
a trip back home, still, leaving a country that had its problems, but has the right conditions to live in
and returning to a country where life had no value, people had no food and the life circumstances got
worse day after day, can be a parallel situation to the change of a paradise land to a world where
people suffered the consequences of their sins. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Three Sisters by many of the eastern woodland tribes. The corn was boiled, baked, or fried and

in the universe. For Aristotle, the existence of the universe needs an explanation, a cause, as it could
not have come from nothing. Nothing comes from nothing so since there is something, there must
have been some other thing that is its cause. Aristotle rules out an infinite progression of causes, so,
that led to the conclusion that there must be a First Cause. Likewise with motion, there must have
been a first cause; Aristotle calls this the Prime Mover . There is a God, says Aristotle for how else
does motion begin? Whilst this argument does generally offer some support for the existence of God,
it does not prove his existence.

Thus, Hume claimed that it is not possible to prove the existence of a being who is unknowable and
existentially different from all other beings.
A further argument against the cosmological argument is presented by Anthony Kenny. According to
his analysis, the cause of change must possess a property which will initiate the change. For example,
for something to become hot, the thing that causes the change must itself possess the property of heat.
But modern science rejects this argument, for instance, microwaves can generate heat without
themselves being hot. Therefore, it is not foolhardy to argue that the universe exists and as a result of
highly finely tuned probabilities, from simple compounds to what we see today. But still, Descartes
reconstruction of the argument seems to postulate that, the cause of change must possess a property
which will initiate the change, which is in direct conflict with Kenny s point. Yet, Aquinas says Kenny
is not giving a straightforward metaphysical analysis, but an analysis which presumes a standard, and
also doubtful physics.
Overall, the cosmological argument, while making a good attempt to prove the existence of God is
largely unsuccessful chiefly because it makes huge empirical assumptions. Firstly, it assumes that the
world does, in fact, exist. And secondly, we cannot prove that a world exists on the basis of a
posteriori premises, therefore cannot infer from it that it has a cause, and

A Narrative Of The Captivity By Mrs. Mary Rowlandson
We all believe in good and evil, that through this belief becomes our morals as humans. However,
during this early American period it s known that the colonial people in Massachusetts had their
beliefs set on the puritan way of life and living. Furthermore, these colonial people who settled in the
Massachusetts Bay colony didn t expect there life to be disrupted through attacks taken place.
Through the experience of one woman, A Narrative of the Captivity by Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, an
American colonial women, accurately depicts historical record of the attacks made of the King Philips
war and her being held for ransom eleven weeks in its descriptions of the brutalities and godliness
which sets the tone between what is truth and what is contradictory in the eyes of Rowlandson and the
native Americans. Moreover, through this war fueled battle the colonial people felt as if their colony
was disrupted and attacked. Not to mention, how the natives felt, particularly the Wampanoag tribe.
The natives had been kind to share half of their land while the English were killing their crops. This
drove the Natives mad and through this they were labeled as savages by the English people.
Subsequently, this brings Rowlandson to invite readers in through her memoir of her captivity.
However, Rowlandson faith is strong through her captivity. She views God as being a great God and
the natives as barbaric, heathens, enemies, and many other slanderous name calling. This however,

Lovable Jerk Film Analysis
It is these three, however, who absolutely make the film what it is. Such unparalleled acting and
interactions between Lucas, Rachael and Travis. No, it s not the three stooges, for these three tell a
much more compelling story and give stunningly impressive performances that far supersede the
antics of those superb comedians from another era. While the story does involve a love triangle,
Hallmark s writers seem to avoid the pitfalls we sometimes witness when viewing films that revolve
around that particular issue. In fact, jealousy doesn t even seem to be the dilemma between the two
young men. At least, not jealousy over the young lady s affections.
As the lovable jerk, Travis portrays the smooth talking, forward thinking Will who is often looking for
a means to an end. Unfortunately, he is not overly principled in his business dealings nor his
relationships. He sees the attractive, vivacious Maya, and he decides to woo her right from the outset.
He is not as interested in her brains per se. Thankfully, he is open to discovering a new world with
Maya at times, but when he sees his chance to get ahead, no matter the ... Show more content on

Essay about Phobias Explained
Many people claim to be afraid of spiders, but probably not to the degree of 37 year old Mary Muffet
of Seattle. Mary went to many lengths to be spider free, including sealing her windows and doors with
duct tape, spraying her car with bug killer, and putting every single piece of washed and ironed
clothing into its own sealed plastic bag. She wasn t just afraid of spiders; she had arachnophobia, a
phobia, not to be confused with a simple fear. Phobias are not simple; they are complex in both their
origin and diagnosis, with many types that people suffer from and any number of treatments exist to
date.

What causes a phobia?
There is currently insufficient research in the field of phobias to determine a definite, clear cause.
What is known is that phobias are common in children and do not represent an abnormality. Phobias
can start in childhood or adulthood. Some people have suddenly become terrified of things they ve
been doing for years, somewhat like a flight attendant that suddenly begins to have panic attacks on
her 500th flight. In most cases, phobias are thought to branch from a confrontation with the feared
object or situation. Six of every ten persons who suffer phobias are able to remember when the fear
crisis occurred for the first time, i.e., when the sensation of panic became attached to the place or
situation where it first happened (Masci, 2002, p.2). Most phobias do not interfere with an individual s
normal functioning to the point of seeking treatment. There is usually no family history of mental
illness or of the same phobia. For example, a person with claustrophobia (fear of being in small
enclosed spaces such as an elevator) does not necessarily have a relative that is mentally ill or is also
claustrophobic. Most simple phobias develop in childhood and eventually go away. Ones that remain
rarely go away without treatment. There are theories that some phobias occur more naturally than
others. It is thought that they are somehow built into the brain. Many experiments with monkeys
display this particular theory. Shown videos of a

911 Center Case Study
As previously mentioned, the communication manager sets and manages the budget. Revenues are
received from a 911 surcharge that is added to all landline and in service cell phones. Since those
revenues do not cover all expenses, every year the communication manager submits the dollar amount
needed for every expense. The city administrator, along with the city council decide the amount of
funds that will be allocated to the 911 Center. It is usually a lower amount than requested, therefore,
the communication manager must prioritize expenditures to make sure the most needed resources are
being purchased. Since the 911 Center is attached and belongs to the fire department, there is some
shared expenditures and city governmental funds. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poor working conditions have already cost the City of Billings in workman s comp claims and

working in a dreary, depressing environment can have a significant impact on employee performance.
When planning the new center, there should be consideration in the location of the break room.
Employees working in a high stress environments need a chance to take breaks away from the chaos.
A quiet, peaceful break room will give the employees a chance to connect with their families by
phone, especially since many employees work overtime and spend a great deal of time away from
home. Even if it is only for a few minutes, some time away from the work atmosphere can rejuvenate,
as well as, energize the employees. Some research should be done on chairs specifically made for
constant use. It would be beneficial to get input from the front line employees since they are the ones

How Did St. Thomas Aquinas Influence
The Philosophical Influence of St. Thomas Aquinas Summa Theologica St. Thomas Aquinas was an
Italian Dominican friar, a Catholic priest, and one of the most influential philosophers of the last
thousand years. He wrote one of the most famous pieces on philosophy and a piece that argued for
God s existence which is summed up in the Summa Theologica. In this work, Aquinas explains the
extent of God s power and the ideas that make up many of the core Catholic beliefs. St. Thomas
Aquinas views on the origin and the purpose of the universe in his work, the Summa Theologica, help
explain the existence of God. Understanding the background of this work and its creator is the best

This section is broad, so I will only cover the main details supporting God s existence. The question
posed here is about why there is a need for God, if all knowledge, except philosophy, requires only
human knowledge, therefore rendering any other science useless. The belief presented by Aquinas is
about what happens when knowledge is given to humans that is beyond their understanding. He
argues that this is when faith must prevail and so a higher being must exist. Sacred doctrine is more
important than other sciences. Many people are certain this is not possible as other sciences are certain
and have often been proven true through laws and reason. Still, just because sacred doctrine might not
be certain in its answers, it does show the weakness of human intelligence. Higher things require great
knowledge and belief in science, making sacred doctrine, even more important than the hard sciences
that everyone knows (1. Aquinas, 2.

St. Thomas Aquinas s An Unjust Law
St. Thomas Aquinas argues that an an unjust law is no law at all. (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.19)
However, Aquinas also acknowledges that a human lawgiver may promulgate a command that has the
form of law, and is enforced like a law, yet is unjust. This observation leads to the realization that
these are two inconsistent claims. Yet Aquinas believes that these inconstancies can be reconciled. In
Aquinas view an unjust law is not a law but yet is also able to be issued as law and imposed as law.
Throughout the course of this essay, I will first define what Aquinas means by incorporating the claim
that an unjust law is no law at all . This will include defining important terms that will correspond
with evaluating Aquinas claim. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is imperative to understand Aquinas definition of just and unjust laws. Through defining these
terms, we will be able to understand Aquinas claim. A law that is just has the power of binding in
conscience (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). It is derived from eternal law and therefore
inherently morally correct. An unjust law lacks this integral quality. Aquinas is willing to say that an
unjust law is a so called law, but a just law is a law proper in its entirety. A law is said to be just when
it is ordained for the common good, does not exceed the power of the lawgiver and any burdens put on
the subjects are done proportionally and equally and aim for the common good (Aquinas in Dimock,
ed., 2002, p.20). In comparison an unjust law can be contrary to the human good and additionally
opposing to the divine good. A law can conflict with the human good in one of three ways; either
through its end, author or its form. A lawmaker issues an unjust law according to its end when he
imposes on his subjects burdensome laws, conducive not to the common good, but rather to his own
cupidity or vainglory (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). If a lawmaker imposes a law that favors
the leader but at the same time imposes unfair burdens on the whole of society, it can be assumed that
he is working for his glory and selfish desires. Secondly, a law according to its form would be

Kathy s Dynamic Characters
When reading a novel, readers are typically more engaged in novels that capitalize on literary
elements. In the art of writing novels, many authors, knowingly, capitalize one dynamic aspect of
literature known as point of view. Having a change in the point of view forces the reader to pay closer
attention to the words being read and, as a result, they more fully immerse themselves in the story.
Using a changing point of view also allows for the development of complex characters. Developing
complex characters is crucial to the formation of an engaging story. Without a dynamic character there
is perceived to be no resolution or closure to a novel. By presenting and involving a reader in the
events that create a dynamic character through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kathy initially believed that Hailsham was ideal for the students. Also, that love was a myth. Her
belief that Hailsham was the best place for the students changed when she went to the cottages. At the
cottages, Kathy discovered that there was more to life than being a carer and donator. She saw the
people living normal lives and working in careers that they loved, with people that the loved. She then
formed the opinion that those people were the best off. The second thing she learned is that love is not
just a myth. Kathy initially doubted the existence of love saying, You say you re sure? Sure that you re
in love? How can you know it? You think love is so simple? (Ishiguro 231). Because Ruth kept her

The Demolition of Privacy Rights
The Demolition of Privacy Rights Civil liberties is a term coined by the United States that guarantees
certain rights to the people by the Bill of Rights. Although the Right to Privacy is not officially
enumerated into the Constitution, the Supreme Court ruled that citizens do in fact, have the right to
their own privacy in their own home and their own beliefs. Privacy rights are an essential part of
everyday American lives, in that everyone should be given the right to do whatever they want to do in
privacy without anyone judging them or knowing what they have done. The right to privacy can also
be considered jeopardizing to society because if someone is doing everything privately, including
planning some sort of abomination or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated above, privacy rights are considered an essential part of one s everyday life because
everyone has their own definition of privacy, in other words, everyone has to have their own form of
privacy; Google defined privacy as the state or condition of being free from being observed or
disturbed by other people but to some people privacy is what one does by themselves or what they do
with another person(s). According to the Patriot Act, the Government has the right to implement all
types of instruments that will further protect the country from terrorism by imposing extreme actions
that target certain rights, such as privacy. In today s society, teenagers and all people around the world
is constantly on their phone either updating a status on Facebook or posting a new picture on
Instagram, this could be very detrimental in protecting one s own private life; photos and status
updates may uncontrollably reveal one s personal life, such as a school s location or even a house
address. Essentially giving the criminal a treasure map. Furthermore the government should enact a
law that gives some type of privacy right while the right of privacy is a debatable subject, citizens
should not fear their government from taking away their right or abuse it for the good will of the
people. While Privacy Rights is considered a necessity for everyday life, the

  • 2. Essay On Getting Organized For Divorce Getting Organized for Divorce A divorce is an emotional, stressful, and exhausting time in a couple s life. The dissolution of a marriage, when paired with attempting to understand the legal process of a divorce, is overwhelming and confusing for most individuals. Although this is a difficult time, each party must try to set emotions aside and prepare for each phase of the divorce process. In any divorce, there are a number of issues that must be resolved. Property must be divided, and custody and visitation with the couple s children must be arranged. Will alimony be paid? Will the divorce proceed on a fault based ground, or is one spouse accusing the other of causing the divorce? Each party must consider the claims and defenses in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, many individuals become blinded by their emotions, and make irrational decisions during this time that damage their case. If you are going through a divorce, make sure to follow these tips. Listen to your divorce attorney. Your attorney s job is to offer objective, rational advice throughout the case. If your attorney says that certain actions should or should not be taken, follow that advice. Do not play games. When your spouse s attorney asks for certain documents during the case, or seeks certain information, do not pretend that you do not have it or cannot get it. Such behavior is not tolerated well by judges. Remain honest throughout the divorce process. You may be held in contempt of court or be ordered to pay your spouse s attorneys fees if you are caught lying during sworn testimony or in notarized statements. You must be open with your attorney. If you made mistakes during the marriage, own up to them so that your attorney may prepare accordingly. Your attorney does not want to find out that you had an affair during a court proceeding. Similarly, stay in touch with your attorney and keep your attorney informed as to issues you and your spouse discuss so that your attorney may take appropriate action when ... • 3. Essay on Comparing the Two Versions of To Build a Fire Comparing the Two Versions of To Build a Fire I am absolutely confident that beyond the motif itself, there is no similarity of treatment whatever (544). Jack London, writing in December 1908, was responding to an inquiry from the Richard W. Gilder, editor of Century Magazine. Gilder, having just published To Build a Fire in his magazine, was worried when he came across another version published 6 years earlier. London s explanation was that the first story was for boys and the new one was for men; the only similarity being the motif itself. Through careful analysis of the two stories, in light of this letter to Gilder, and another letter to Cloudesly Johns, it is apparent that although London claims no similarities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This ending more clearly illustrates the dangers of the Klondike. The first version is more a morality tale, ending with the moral of Never travel alone! (62). The second version is more of a good short story, with the ending that is, regrettably, all too common in that part of the world. The main character never gets a chance to change his ways and travel with a companion the proverbial next time. He learns the lesson with the most severest of consequences: death. Another interesting difference is the fact that in the 1902 version the main character is Tom Vincent; however in the second version, the man has no name. This gives the main character in the 1908 version a feeling of universality. In 1900, before either of these two stories was published, Jack London wrote a letter to a good friend, Cloudesly Johns, explaining his philosophy on good fiction writing. This letter is an invaluable resource when studying the work of Jack London, especially when comparing the two versions of To Build a Fire. London emphasized quite a bit in this letter with many exclamation points and capital letters. That was only because of the passion with which he was writing about writing. His main point was to not be to scientific, or empirically (530) scientific. He explains not to tell the reader what your philosophy is, but rather to have the characters tell it by their deeds, actions, talk, etc. (531). He then moves on to talk about atmosphere, and ... The Jazz Age was from 1920 through 1929. During the 1920 s, the First World War had just ended in 1918 and the Great Depression was affecting the citizens of the United States. In a layman language, UX is the experience that a person has as they interact with your product and UI is basically the look and feel of the product. Ofcourse this is the simplest version of the UX and UI definition and is giving a very limited view of the subject. And obviously for a detailed version, one will have to dive in deep. Let s understand it in bits and pieces first. What is UX? The technical definition given by Don Norman and Jakob Nielsen says, The first requirement for an exemplary user experience is to meet the exact needs of the customer, without fuss or bother. UX design is focused on anything that affects the user s journey to solve that problem, positive or negative, both on screen and off. UI design is focused on how the product s surfaces look and function. The user interface is the only piece of that journey. I like the restaurant analogy I ve heard others use: UI is the table, chair, plate, glass, and utensils. UX is everything from the food, to the service, parking, lighting, and music. 2. Andy Budd Co founder of Clearleft, Founder of UX London Common logic would suggest that, if you design the UI, and a person experiences a product through the UI, that makes you a User Experience Designer. • 12. Organic Farming Chapter Summary This chapter was about the struggle of living with locally grown food and cloth diapers. Colin Beavan got in touch with some foodies and asked what they did for eating environmentally conscience. And Colin and his wife found other activities to do during their normal TV time, like preparing ingredients for their meals and spending time with their friends. Colin even went as far as to visit the farm that he gets his milk from just to see if the farmer s ideals lined up with his. This chapter brought up a good point about the antibiotics regulations for organic farming. As someone who was once a member of 4 H if you are planning on raising market animals the healthier the animal is the better. So when the USDA set the no antibiotics standard for market animals to be considered organic is unrealistic because in order to have a shot at raising healthy animals they need to get shots to keep them from getting sick. And this doesn t just apply to 4 H, it applies to commercial farms too and that s why some of them treat their animals so badly. Commercial farms try to follow the USDA rules but aren t making enough money to keep their animals healthy so when they get sick the animals are hurriedly pushed to get well without the use of vet care, because that s money that they could use to buy more animals instead of trying to care for the ones they have. This doesn t condone the methods the commercial farms use but it is easier to care for the animals better when you are a 4 H er and raising 1 3 animals per year as opposed to a factory farm raising 60 70 animals per year. ... Sally Bowles character is based off on the same Sally Bowlers in Goodbye to Berlin . I think that Sally is over sexualized in the movie, because she is seen a lot of time in skimpy clothes. Sally Bowles meets an Oxford student name Brian Roberts, whom she brings to the lodges. Bangladesh Is On The Right Track Faris Azhan Roslizan Dr. Rachel Osgood Human Systems Section H October 16, 2015 Bangladesh is on The Right Track Bangladesh, the eight most populated country in the world has been plagued by poverty for a long time. In the year 2000, the United Nations created the Millennium Development Goals, the purpose was to decrease extreme poverty by 2015. Thus, when Goal 1; eradicating extreme poverty and hunger was included in the project, Bangladesh was targeted as the country is overpopulated and has a high rate of unemployment. A considerable number of Bangladeshi chose to migrate to other Asian countries in hopes of better life. Bangladesh has made commendable progress in achieving the MDGs, especially in alleviating poverty. The first MDG of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger is possible for Bangladesh to achieve due to efficient government programs, assistance from NGOs, and the positive impact of migration. Understanding the factors that causes Bangladesh to be a poor country is vital. The main cause is overpopulation. • 17. The Political Economy Model Of Migration Policy Gary Freeman suggests the gap between rhetoric and reality is best described in a political economic account of migration policy. The political economy model of migration is modelled on the interests of three sets of rational actors: voters, organised groups and state actors who attempts to maximize their individual goals subject to state interests in different contexts (Freeman, 2002). The first is post industrial change, which suggests stances on immigration policy are better viewed as interests defined by social groups (Freeman, 2002: 84). The second is the spatial account, where the population compete for finite resources in densely settled areas exacerbated by strong advocates of immigration in these locations, such as businesses which could help explain the gap between rhetoric and action. The third is the international approach, where state protectionism regulates the trade of goods and people. If immigration is economically beneficial to the state, it will continue regardless of public sentiments. As social welfare effects are key determinants of a countries migration policy , if migration stimulates the economy, it will have a positive impact on society (Freeman, 2002: 88). Liberal and International Norms Liberal norms influence policy outcomes. Hollifield is concerned with the political interests that drive migration policy in the face of liberalism. American Pirsoners Of War In Vietnam Essay Prisoners of War (POWs): In international law, term used to designate incarcerated members of the armed forces of an enemy, or noncombatants who render them direct service and who have been captured during wartime.1 This definition is a very loose interpretation of the meaning of Prisoners of War (POWs). POWs throughout history have received harsh and brutal treatment. Prisoners received everything from torture to execution. However, in recent times efforts have been made to reduce these treatments and to get humane treatment for POWs. These attempts include the Geneva Convention of 1949. Not a specific torture, but a very painful experience that POWs had to deal with everyday, was hunger. Malnutrition, and hunger became a POW s worst enemy, and led to many of the 114 deaths among the prisoners. Another excruciating obstacle that prisoners sometimes faced was torture. Torture was against the Geneva Accords, but then again, so were many other acts that the NVA and Vietcong (VC) committed against American POWs. Torture sometimes only consisted of a few blows with a bamboo stick, to an all out beating until the prisoner was unconscious, to sometimes even worse acts of violence. The landscape paintings represent more than the beauty of nature: it can trigger a memory, tell a story, document a moment. Thru Cole s painting of 1828, where he illustrates the story of Adam and Eve expulsion from the Paradise land, I remember the moment when I returned to Venezuela after spending one year abroad. The Expulsion from the Garden of Eden is based on the biblical metaphor of Adam and Eve; who had the opportunity to live in a paradise land, with the exception that they wouldn t consume a fruit from a specific tree. This was known as the forbidden fruit and if they were to eat it, their time in that world would be over and they would be sent to a different world where hard work has required to obtain what you desired. It might be a strange comparison: a biblical proverb and a trip back home, still, leaving a country that had its problems, but has the right conditions to live in and returning to a country where life had no value, people had no food and the life circumstances got worse day after day, can be a parallel situation to the change of a paradise land to a world where people suffered the consequences of their sins. ... The corn was boiled, baked, or fried and used to make soup, bread, and puddings. The beans were boiled or fried, made into soups, or added with their meat dishes. • 23. Philosophy of Religion The Cosmological argument argues for the existence of God a posteriori based on the apparent order in the universe. For Aristotle, the existence of the universe needs an explanation, a cause, as it could not have come from nothing. Nothing comes from nothing so since there is something, there must have been some other thing that is its cause. Aristotle rules out an infinite progression of causes, so, that led to the conclusion that there must be a First Cause. Likewise with motion, there must have been a first cause; Aristotle calls this the Prime Mover . There is a God, says Aristotle for how else does motion begin? Whilst this argument does generally offer some support for the existence of God, it does not prove his existence. Aquinas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, Hume claimed that it is not possible to prove the existence of a being who is unknowable and existentially different from all other beings. A further argument against the cosmological argument is presented by Anthony Kenny. According to his analysis, the cause of change must possess a property which will initiate the change. For example, for something to become hot, the thing that causes the change must itself possess the property of heat. But modern science rejects this argument, for instance, microwaves can generate heat without themselves being hot. Therefore, it is not foolhardy to argue that the universe exists and as a result of highly finely tuned probabilities, from simple compounds to what we see today. But still, Descartes reconstruction of the argument seems to postulate that, the cause of change must possess a property which will initiate the change, which is in direct conflict with Kenny s point. Yet, Aquinas says Kenny is not giving a straightforward metaphysical analysis, but an analysis which presumes a standard, and also doubtful physics. Overall, the cosmological argument, while making a good attempt to prove the existence of God is largely unsuccessful chiefly because it makes huge empirical assumptions. Firstly, it assumes that the world does, in fact, exist. And secondly, we cannot prove that a world exists on the basis of a posteriori premises, therefore cannot infer from it that it has a cause, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is currently insufficient research in the field of phobias to determine a definite, clear cause. What is known is that phobias are common in children and do not represent an abnormality. Phobias can start in childhood or adulthood. Some people have suddenly become terrified of things they ve been doing for years, somewhat like a flight attendant that suddenly begins to have panic attacks on her 500th flight. In most cases, phobias are thought to branch from a confrontation with the feared object or situation. Six of every ten persons who suffer phobias are able to remember when the fear crisis occurred for the first time, i.e., when the sensation of panic became attached to the place or situation where it first happened (Masci, 2002, p.2). Most phobias do not interfere with an individual s normal functioning to the point of seeking treatment. There is usually no family history of mental illness or of the same phobia. For example, a person with claustrophobia (fear of being in small enclosed spaces such as an elevator) does not necessarily have a relative that is mentally ill or is also claustrophobic. Most simple phobias develop in childhood and eventually go away. Ones that remain rarely go away without treatment. There are theories that some phobias occur more naturally than others. It is thought that they are somehow built into the brain. Many experiments with monkeys display this particular theory. Shown videos of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.19) However, Aquinas also acknowledges that a human lawgiver may promulgate a command that has the form of law, and is enforced like a law, yet is unjust. This observation leads to the realization that these are two inconsistent claims. Yet Aquinas believes that these inconstancies can be reconciled. In Aquinas view an unjust law is not a law but yet is also able to be issued as law and imposed as law. This will include defining important terms that will correspond with evaluating Aquinas claim. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is imperative to understand Aquinas definition of just and unjust laws. Through defining these terms, we will be able to understand Aquinas claim. A law that is just has the power of binding in conscience (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). It is derived from eternal law and therefore inherently morally correct. An unjust law lacks this integral quality. Aquinas is willing to say that an unjust law is a so called law, but a just law is a law proper in its entirety. A law is said to be just when it is ordained for the common good, does not exceed the power of the lawgiver and any burdens put on the subjects are done proportionally and equally and aim for the common good (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). In comparison an unjust law can be contrary to the human good and additionally opposing to the divine good. A law can conflict with the human good in one of three ways; either through its end, author or its form. A lawmaker issues an unjust law according to its end when he imposes on his subjects burdensome laws, conducive not to the common good, but rather to his own cupidity or vainglory (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20).
