Departmental Overview 
The Campus Shared Services Center (CSS) supports the administration of Business and Finance Services, 
Information Services Technology, and Human Resources for the UC Berkeley campus. CSS is committed

Campus Shared Services is located at 1608 4th Street Berkeley, CA 94710
Responsibilities 
The Recruitment Assistant will provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support pertaining to 
recruitment activities. This includes but is not limited to the following: provide general information with 
regards to recruitment and hiring process; contact applicants for additional information; schedule 
interviews; complete reference checks; assist in putting together offer letters and contract agreements; 
receive, take action and update the CSS-HR ticketing system; compiling information as well as the 
development and maintenance of reports; and provide other general administrative tasks as needed. 
Recruitment and Employment Coordination 
 Coordinate recruitment logistics such as: interviews, background materials, notifications, follow-up 
on action items, etc. Use applicant tracking system to maintain and enter data, search and compile 
report and metric information 
Communication 
 Greet, direct, and provide information in a professional manner via phone, in person, and online to 
employees, managers, campus units, and others regarding: general recruitment information, specific 
recruitment inquiries from employees, managers or other entities, etc. 
 Communicate with recruitment team on workload, ability to meet deadlines, etc. 
 Works in a highly collaborative manner with others across the organization, external contacts of 
significance, and members of campus management 
Employment Processing 
 Maintains and coordinates employment processes and procedures. 
 Prioritizes work assignments, conducts analysis and helps develop resulting recommendations 
 Create, proofread, edit, update, and ensure timely distribution of: various documents, 
correspondence, manuals, etc. Ensure above materials are in proper business formats, accurate, 
grammatically correct, and handled confidentially, as required 
Required Qualifications 
 Previous experience in administrative support role, preferably within a high-volume recruitment 
environment. 
 Strong knowledge of PC based software (MS Office—Word, Excel; email; etc.). Must demonstrate 
ability to learn University systems. Demonstrated skill to create presentations and appropriate 
business documents using said software 
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
 Ability to effectively summarize information, develop reports, create information documents 
 Detail oriented, accurate, and able to handle competing deadlines and multiple tasks with frequent 
interruptions 
 Strong organizational skills, ability to establish priorities and work independently and as part of a 
team 
 Demonstrated record keeping and file management skills to organize, accurately document, and 
retrieve data in a variety of formats (Hard Copy, Electronic, etc.) 
 Ability to exercise integrity and discretion in all matters and to protect confidential information 
 This position has been designated as sensitive and requires a Criminal Background Check.
Salary & Benefits 
$21.00 - $21.50 per hour

Recruitment and Employment Coordination  Coordinate recruitment logistics such as: interviews, background materials, notifications, follow-up on action items, etc. Use applicant tracking system to maintain and enter data, search and compile report and metric information Communication  Greet, direct, and provide information in a professional manner via phone, in person, and online to employees, managers, campus units, and others regarding: general recruitment information, specific recruitment inquiries from employees, managers or other entities, etc.  Communicate with recruitment team on workload, ability to meet deadlines, etc.  Works in a highly collaborative manner with others across the organization, external contacts of significance, and members of campus management Employment Processing  Maintains and coordinates employment processes and procedures.  Prioritizes work assignments, conducts analysis and helps develop resulting recommendations  Create, proofread, edit, update, and ensure timely distribution of: various documents, correspondence, manuals, etc. Ensure above materials are in proper business formats, accurate, grammatically correct, and handled confidentially, as required Required Qualifications  Previous experience in administrative support role, preferably within a high-volume recruitment environment.  Strong knowledge of PC based software (MS Office—Word, Excel; email; etc.). Must demonstrate ability to learn University systems. Demonstrated skill to create presentations and appropriate business documents using said software  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  Ability to effectively summarize information, develop reports, create information documents  Detail oriented, accurate, and able to handle competing deadlines and multiple tasks with frequent interruptions  Strong organizational skills, ability to establish priorities and work independently and as part of a team  Demonstrated record keeping and file management skills to organize, accurately document, and retrieve data in a variety of formats (Hard Copy, Electronic, etc.)  Ability to exercise integrity and discretion in all matters and to protect confidential information  This position has been designated as sensitive and requires a Criminal Background Check.
