Responsibilities
Sourcing
• Participate and implement employment advertising campaigns and programs.
• Applies campus policies and procedures in addressing and resolving moderately complex
staffing needs.
• Self-motivated, focused, self-starter; proactive, takes initiative and follow-through is critical
• Collect resumes from Linkedin, job-boards, list-serves and data mine candidates in the applicant
tracking system.
• Utilizes internal tools and market knowledge to source candidates across a variety of UC
verticals and build pipelines to support recruiters and Sr. recruiters
• Engage with passive candidates using Internet and Phone,
• Proactively connect with local community to drive brand recognition of UC Berkeley as an
employer and assist with Job Fairs and Open Houses
• Support Recruiters with client base and source for upcoming needs; have passive candidates
ready to engage in recruitment at any given time.
2. Data Analysis
• Compile and present data and metrics on market trends
• Utilize data to advise recruiters on talent available and local market trends.
• Prioritizes work assignments, conducts analysis and helps develop resulting recommendations
• Create, maintain and improve reports on sourcing efforts, including but not limited to, volume,
skill set and candidate availability
• Ability to create a centralized database to house passive candidates that will be easily accessible
to Recruitment Team
Recruitment
• May source, screen, interview and recommend candidates for skilled operational and technical
and professional levels
• May run full life cycle recruitments for entry level vacancies
• Participates in employment advertising campaigns and programs
• Communicate with recruiters and supervisor regarding affirmative action goals and
advertisement methods
• Works in a collaborative manner with assigned business units, other areas of HR and outside
recruiters/agencies on matters pertaining to staffing needs
Other
• Communicate with recruiters and customers regularly to provide update on open recruitments,
sourcing efforts etc.
• Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• 1-2 years experience on recruitment, staffing and/or sourcing
• Proven track record of success in a high volume environment with the ability to manage
changing and competing priorities.
• Ability to partner with Recruiters, recruitment assistants, Human Resources Business Partners,
and Hiring Managers to understand their specific hiring needs to attract qualified candidates.
• Work in a collaborative manner with assigned business units, other areas of HR, and outside
recruiters/agencies on matters pertaining to staffing needs.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment when making decisions
• Intermediate skills with MS Suite, especially Excel and Word (V-Look ups, Pivot Tables, mail
merges etc.)
• Exceptional HR acumen
• Demonstrates analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations
• Has working knowledge of the recruitment, screening, interviewing and referral processes as
well as a basic knowledge of employment law
• Understands HR processes and forms and knows campus and departmental principles and
procedures.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Has abilities associated with problem identification; reasoning; ability to work with business
units in the development ideas to solve staffing issues
3. • Ability to effectively communicate complex staffing plans to a mixed audience
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard sourcing and recruitment tools (e.g. Job Boards,
professional associations, social media, LinkedIn etc.)
