Lloyd Engineers provided design and construction management services to renovate the top level of the Drollinger Parking Structure at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. The project transitioned the existing natural grass field to an artificial turf multi-sport field while maintaining the existing drainage system. A major challenge was performing the work while maintaining the structural integrity of the existing parking structure.

The LLOYD Team has provided services in 2012 with
Ohno Construction as a successful design/build team to
renovate the field on the top level of the Drollinger Parking
Structure of Loyola Marymount University.
Lloyd provided design and construction management
for the transition from natural grass to a new NCAA infill
artificial turf multi-sport field.
The project required a transition from natural grass to
artificial turf, while maintaining the existing drainage
system. This was accomplished by stabilizing the existing
rootzone sand and then placing a pad with the new turf on
top. The new infill turf installed is AstroTurf gameday Grass
3DXtreme-52.
A major challenge of the project was maintaining
structural soundness of the existing structure by carefully
choreographing all of the required construction equipment.
Tufted field stripes, logos and side line lettering give the
field a clean look.
