By popular demand we present the 'ready for Change' Roadshow slides covering the PRINCE2 2017 Update, Change Management and 'A Cocktail of PM Approaches' how it all fits together
What changes are needed to your PMO to allow agile projects to be successful and for your business to get the most out of Lean Thinking. These combined approaches can boost the ROI of your entire business.
At our recent agile breakfast event in London, two of our trainers discussed how organisations are improving outcomes with agile techniques. This presentation explores how agile techniques can complement your existing project management methodologies, and how agile principles can be applied to process improvement, accelerating outcomes, improving sustainability and helping you to deliver real value for your organisation.
AgileBA is one of the fastest growing certifications in the Agile and BA world, and this presentation looks at an overview of the subject and exam process
The Agile PMO - practical value driven change leadership in projects and portfolios
Conclusive research findings show that approximately %50 of PMOs are disbanded in two years. Yet, we repeat the same mistakes in our PMO implementations – wasting money, resources and most important – wasting time. In this presentation we focus on the value driven PMO as an integrator, enabler, differentiator, and change agent in business, development and the organization in general.
We analyze the essential model for PMO value enablement which answers:
• What is the strategic role of the value driven PMO in business;
• How to ensure effective streamlined delivery;
• How to effectively select and prioritize opportunities;
• How to manage resource allocation.
Key take away – a PMO must deliver value to the organization constantly. Value isn’t templates, tools and processes rather it is the ability to finish the right projects faster!

The reality is that a paradigm shift is needed to enable the Agile PMO to deliver the correct support and provide an acceptable level of guidance for project managers in a collaborative and co-operative approach.
This will result in the ability to work with the project and business teams to fast track projects through to delivery while ensuring that the components of the triple constraints evolves into a managed agile enterprise project and programme environment.
Agile Transformation consists of a group of professional change agents specializing in process improvement and organizational transformation. We are experts in Agile, Lean and organizational transformation methods applied to Technology and Business.
Conclusive research findings inform us that many PMOs are disbanded in two years. Yet; we repeat the same mistakes in our PMO implementations – wasting money, resources and time. In this practical, interactive discussion the focus will be on the value driven PMO as an integrator, enabler, differentiator, and change agent in business, development and the organization in general.
Michael’s will address the essential model for PMO value enablement:
1. The two key concept of the Agile PMO – a PMO that is inherently agile, adaptive and value driven and a PMO that interfaces between Agile product delivery and the traditional Waterfall organization
2. How to ensure effective streamlined delivery by abolishing waste
3. How to effectively select and prioritize opportunities
4. How to manage resource allocation from a top down approach in an effective manner by targeting critical resources

Introduction to Enterprise Agile FrameworksMehul Kapadia
* Need for Enterprise Agility
Agile practices have been adopted by organizations of all sizes.
For medium to large enterprises, team level agile practices have been stretched with custom fit processes and practices as needed to fulfill the gaps in end to end delivery life cycle.
* Agile@Scale
Enterprise Agile Frameworks have emerged to address the challenge of replicating agile success at organization level.
We will review following frameworks:
• SAFe – Scaled Agile Framework
• DAD – Disciplined Agile Delivery
• LeSS – Large Scale Scrum
* Attendees will leave this presentation with a clear understanding of current trends in organizational agility and will be able to take back the lessons learnt from speaker’s experience of SAFe implementation.
Learn how an evolved PMO can bring discipline to project prioritization, track project portfolios, and provide the support teams need to embrace Agile.
The Agile PMO: From Process Police to Adaptive Governance: This webcast provides techniques for an Agile PMO and discusses how those concepts are being applied in the industry. Presented by LitheSpeed.
This Presentation gives the scene for agile project management. It shows the differences between agile and traditional project management approaches, including why using agile methods is often the best choice for certain projects.
Last year saw the publication of PRINCE2 Agile, a unique agile project management guide from AXELOS. Not another project management guide, you might be thinking. So why was the guide prepared? Is it any good? Will it help Project Managers to be more agile? Will it help agile teams accept more control?
In these webinar slides, Lead PRINCE2 Trainer, Steve Boronski, discusses how AXELOS’ new project management guide blends the governance of PRINCE2 with the flexibility of agile.

Why is everyone talking about Agile Project Management?Melanie Franklin
Do you know what agile project management really means? When your colleagues talk about ‘going agile’ do you know what is involved and how it might affect you?
This webinar is packed with facts and practical experience of adopting an agile approach to project management. It will help you understand how agile is different to other methods including PRINCE2® and what the benefits and the challenges of agile really are.
It forms part of a series of webinars, blogs and speeches I have delivered for the past 10 years. You can see more by clicking on the Linked-In or Twitter feeds embedded into the slides.
The introduction of a project management framework will provide a structured and managed approach for projects within your company.
With the right framework in place it will allow projects of all sizes and priority to be planned effectively. This ensures that at all times the cost of the project is managed while delivering quality and the right level of performance and control across project management.

On Thursday 16th October 2014, John Chapman and Andrew Gray presented at the APM Project Management in Practice Event, where the subject area was an Introduction to Programme Management.
Theirs was an interactive session where John provided the theoretical side of programme management, whilst Andrew explained how this worked using a real life example from the UK MOD where a Programme Management approach was adopted using the Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) framework.
The Programme Lifecycle gave a structure to the presentation covering seven areas
1. What is a programme?
2. Why do a programme?
3. What makes up a programme?
4. How do we run a programme?
5. Who is in the programme?
6. When does a programme end?
7. What challenges are faced?
It was important to show how Programme Management called upon the specialisms from the other Specific Interest Groups.
An example of this relates to Benefits Management. Early on in the programme the questions to be asked, and answered, include:
1. Is there a vision of a change future?
2. Is this a shared single vision?
3. Is it in line with what is needed?
4. What are the benefits to be gained?
5. Who benefits, what do they benefit, how much benefit, when do they benefit?
Andrew commented that an important area to consider was the area of stakeholder management. With a high profile programme, there are many diverse stakeholder groups and interfaces including
• An external advisory group
• Local representatives and committees
• Regulators & policy holders
• UK & Scottish governments
• Press coverage
• Wide ranging public consultations
Consultation and communication (two way) would then provide inputs and influences to the decision making process within the Programme.
At the end of the presentation Andrew noted the lessons learned (so far) on the adoption of a programme management approach as:
A Programme Management approach is not for everything
- Split change element of the objectives from long-term business as usual
Bring clarity & focus
- Projects need to know how they fit into ‘big change picture’
Get senior commitment
- Have the approach endorsed by the Programme Board
Co-ordinate stakeholder engagement
- Communications must be co-ordinated and consistent across the projects
Scale the management investment that is needed
- Do not swamp with bureaucracy
Efficient pooling of resources
- A small programme team benefits from pooling common central activities
Cope with geographically dispersed team
- Programme Management approach is the glue to hold things together

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

• How did you feel?
16. Business Change Management
f
When change has gone well
Clearly understood the need for change
Strong sponsorship and leadership of
change
Change was properly planned and
managed
Clear, two-way communication
Widespread staff involvement
Key people empowered
Identified benefits of change – what’s in it
for me
Felt empowered, excited, motivated,
proud, energised, optimistic
f
When change has gone badly
Didn’t understand the reason for the change
- change for change’s sake
Lack of understanding of impact
No sponsorship or visible leadership
Ineffective communications – one way with
no chance to feedback
Change imposed and happened too quickly
Lack of trust
Lack of support for staff
Felt scared, powerless, unsettled,
demotivated, lost, frustrated
17. What the research says
• Failure rates of change initiatives have been
reported as high as 70-80% (King and Peterson,
2007)
• A few top performing organizations experience
failure rates of below 20% (IBM, 2008b)
• “…an undeniable correlation between project
performance, maturity level and change management.
The majority of the best performing organisations apply
change management to their projects.” (PwC, 2004)

23. Embedding: Breaking Vicious Circles
1. Line managers
don’t like the
system 2. Staff look to line
managers for
direction
3. Team members don’t
adopt change because
their line managers aren’t
4. Team members work
around system with no
negative consequences
5. Everyone forgets
how to use the
system
