INTRODUCTION
• WHAT ARE RASTER IMAGES?
Images Generated on Raster Scan Display
Devices.
These Images are formed by illumination of
spots called as PIXELS.
Each pixel contain information about each
Colour ,Position and its brightness
INTRODUCTION
Thus, Raster Images are collection of a large
number of pixels.
These Pixels are stored in BIT MAP of the
image in the System Memory which is then
viewed by the video controller.
The Figure shows the Scenerio:

RASTER ANIMATION
• WHAT IS RASTER ANIMATION?
When these such Raster Images when Played
in a Particular Sequence it is called as Raster
Animation Sequence.
Each Raster Image is called as Raster Frame.
Raster animation forms the more Realistic
Raltime Images.
RASTER ANIMATION
Let us take The Raster scan Display Generating
Raster Scan Image:
RASTER ANIMATION
For Sequence of such Raster Images The Frame
Buffer in System Memory that Store the Bit Map
is refreshed with a new bit map of new image
that is to be displayed or Sequenced:
The Figure Shows The scenerio:

The Following Figure shows 4 Raster images
where the Bitmaps are Loded one by one within
the time t1,t2,t3.t4 microseconds
The time when the new Bit map Is decide by the
user to Create the Animation.

There are broadly 2 Types Of Raster Animations:

TRADITIONAL RASTER ANIMATION:
Used low Detailed Animation using Sprite
Sheets
Sprite Sheets allowed the Removal of any object
that was not needed, but Disturbed the
Animation Sequence.
TYPES RASTER ANIMATION
SPRITE SHEET:
TYPES OF RASTER ANIMATION
MODERN RASTER ANIMATION:
Each animation frame is either scanned into a
computer.
Programming languages such as Flash, HTML and
Java is Used.
Generate 2-D animations based on user input
events, such as mouse clicks or keystrokes.
Scaled to fit any window with predefined
Resolution.

VECTOR VS RASTER ANIMATION
Vector animation store image information as a
sequence of points whereas raster animation stores
information in form of PIXELS.
Vector Animations does not provide much clarity of
image than the Raster Animation generates Real-
time Images
Raster Animations are rendered at High Resolutions
whereas Vector Animations at Low Resolution.

Gives the animator control over appearance of an
image
Raster Animation Uses less Memory
Flexible and can Remove Selective Objects in
Animation Sequence.
Supports 3D object Animation.
DISADVANTAGES
Raster files are much Larger
Biggest Problem is of Scaling leads to
Multiplication of Each pixel which generates a
Blocky pixelated image.
Costly Hardware Devices are Required to Render.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION • WHAT ARE RASTER IMAGES? Images Generated on Raster Scan Display Devices. These Images are formed by illumination of spots called as PIXELS. Each pixel contain information about each Colour ,Position and its brightness
  • 4. INTRODUCTION Thus, Raster Images are collection of a large number of pixels. These Pixels are stored in BIT MAP of the image in the System Memory which is then viewed by the video controller. The Figure shows the Scenerio:
  • 6. RASTER ANIMATION • WHAT IS RASTER ANIMATION? When these such Raster Images when Played in a Particular Sequence it is called as Raster Animation Sequence. Each Raster Image is called as Raster Frame. Raster animation forms the more Realistic Raltime Images.

VECTOR VS RASTER ANIMATION Vector animation store image information as a sequence of points whereas raster animation stores information in form of PIXELS. Vector Animations does not provide much clarity of image than the Raster Animation generates Real- time Images Raster Animations are rendered at High Resolutions whereas Vector Animations at Low Resolution.
