2. The Importance Of Ethcentrism In Culture
and practices are right and everything that differs from ours is wrong or abnormal ( ). In the
example above, ethnocentrism is represented by Christa s position who assumed that the American
engagement tradition which involves a ring is and should be the norm for cultures around the
world. Taking an ethnocentric stance involves the existence of a parameter for every behavior and
action we encounter and we can use it to determine whether it is right or wrong. However, we
cannot really define such parameter without appealing to our values, norms, and behaviors. In other
words, without appealing to our culture. Furthermore, all cultures carry biases since they are
developed in a specific context influenced by external and internal factors that change according to
time and place. Since conditions vary, culture varies. What arguments could we use to set up my
culture as a model for others since the context within it was developed it just different? Clearly,
Christa s attitude would have been different if she was born in a Zulu tribe. Although we cannot
claim that this attitude is wrong because everybody carries some cultural biases that we are not
even aware of. Additionally, since these biases are shared they bring cohesion to the group (D.
Zigelsky, class discussion, August 30, 2017). However, we must be aware that extreme
ethnocentrism can lead to negative outcomes such as racism, xenophobia, and war. In anthropology,
ethnocentrism is problematic especially when doing

3. Analysis Of The World We Have Lost
History is a collection of stories, and stories can often differ from the facts. This is because the
past can often be distorted and only show certain aspects deemed important. Historian Peter
Laslett is frustrated by this and describes in his paper The World We Have Lost how the pre
industrial society has been forgotten. Society has mostly been patriarchal in human history.
Each household contained roughly 10 20 people, ran by a male master, housing his wife,
children, apprentices, and servants. The group was considered a family and usually worked
together producing a singular product as well as maintaining the household. Land owning men
ran the world and hired those who were less fortunate. Today however, families now consist of
related individuals that live separate lives with separate beliefs. Should patriarchy stay in the
past or should it be adopted into modern life? I believe that Laslett s lost world was abandoned for
a reason and should stay lost due to the modern ideas of choice, change, and culture. Choice is the
best part of today s society. The life I am living today would not be possible in patriarchal society. I
am living on my own, attending university a thousand miles away from home in a completely
different field of my father. If I was living in the lost world , I would be raised to inherit my father
s trade like woodworking, farming, etc. I would not have choice and my life would basically be
decided before I was born. The power of choice is

4. Farmers Who Often Carry Guns And Run Prisons
The XPCC: Farmers Who Sometimes Carry Guns and Run Prisons
Faced with an alarming rise in Xinjiang violence over the last two years, Beijing is searching for a
high visibility, public solution. Most recently, officials attention has settled on the Xinjiang
Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), known informally in Chinese as bingtuan ( Corps ).
While it has been a martial organization in name and structure since its inception, the international
media is getting ahead of itself in playing up the military role played by Xinjiang s bingtuan.
Controlling 700,000 hectares, almost 30% of Xinjiang s arable land, along with 2.6 million
residents in its cities, the is first and foremost a bureaucratic corporation.
The history of the XPCC goes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ebb and flow of political sentiment has left its mark on the structure and raison d ГЄtre of the
XPCC. By the early 1970s, the organization had visibly suffered from its experience of the Cultural
Revolution, the only time the organization has ever been directly overseen by the army. In 1979,
however, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and the latent threat posed by the USSR became more
active. Chinese leadership, newly recovered from the death of Mao, felt surrounded. Already in a
heated hearts and minds propaganda competition with the Soviets for Xinjiang s Muslim minority
groups, the importance of Xinjiang to the geopolitics of an isolated PRC suddenly crystalized.
In a decisive reversal that highlights officials sense of insecurity, the XPCC was restored in 1981
during a time when other border provinces bingtuan were being permanently abolished (such as
Hainan s, abolished just two years before).
Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the XPCC has continued to play a quiet but ubiquitous role in
Xinjiang s development. However, the circumstances surrounding the organization s reinstatement
does not mean that the post 1981 bingtuan was any more substantively militarily oriented than
before. Instead, its primary practical function increasingly became the generation of profits.
One of lesser known functions of the bingtuan is the large penal system it

8. Analysis of the Sociological Theories
The four sociological theories are (1) Functionalisms, (2) Conflict Theory, (3) Symbolic Interaction
and (4) rational choice.
Functionalism believes that each part of society works in its own way and that the whole is
interrelated so that one feeds into the other and the whole works together harmoniously as a unit.
The government, for instance, provides education and libraries for its citizens and citizens, in turn,
pay taxes to the government so that the whole country profits. Schools provide education for
children, and families depend upon schools to provide education so that children will become
employable. The children, in turn, become literate, law abiding citizens who grow up to become
productive citizens in their won way. In this way, each segment of society interacts to work together
as a cohesive whole providing stability and productivity.
Conflict Theory
Society is in a perpetual state of conflict with bourgeois, or propertied class, exploiting the workers.
Society is in a conflict, constantly changing, negative state. Conflict theory is the opposite of
functionalism in that it sees conflict as being the personification of every single segment of society.
This includes race, religion, gender, politics, and economy. Powerful people are wrestling with and
exploiting the weaker and under privileged and unequal groups usually have conflicting values that
cause competition and conflict. This results in the constantly changing face of history.

Armageddon in the Middle East. Populations reduced to dust by nuclear war. International actors

U.S. and Israel when considering the possibility of Iranian nuclear weapons. However, the attitudes
of the Obama administration in discussing potential deals with Iran have demonstrated a change in
the U.S. strategy when interacting with an Iranian regime that desires nuclear capability. In recent
months, Iran has made global headlines once again by asking for permission to develop and
possess nuclear weapons within their state for the purpose of stabilizing the turbulent Middle East.
This recent development has sparked a heated debate over the best way for the United States and
Israel to respond to Iran s quest to obtain nuclear powerin the Middle East, creating mounting
tensions and polarization in American and global politics. The Obama administration aims to
stabilize the Middle East by developing a diplomatic deal with Iran. However, the argument of
Israel and the conservatives in Congress that Iran s potential nuclear capability brings much more
risk and danger than reward is a much more realistic, pragmatic and appropriate viewpoint given the
tensions and instability in the Middle East and the history of Iran s conflict with Western
civilization. Iran s leaders have actively pursued the development of nuclear energy technology
since the launch of U.S. President Dwight D.

people like Jesus Buddha, Thoreau, and Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK). Thanks to these people
over the years activism has developed a clear and effective structure which has proven effective in

This was done through a series of steps. The first step was to learn how to conceptualize social
justice. Understanding social justice is more than just knowing statistics, social justice requires
one to identify with others stories, develop a sense of motivation, and knowing barriers one will
face in one s journey. The next thing important to my own journey as a white male was
understanding how oppression affects the motivation of an individual. To me, this meant breaking
oppression down into non experiential and first hand experiences. Next was developing an
activism cycle this meant learning how to recognize the need for change, joining an organization,
taking action and following up by learning what one can do better in the future. Lastly, I learned
how to make my action as purposeful and as meaningful as possible. Developing the skills and

Tattoo Artistry Tattoo Artistry is a form of permanent creation which an artist will mark a person

daunting task that requires much preparation beforehand. In order to create a service person and
space that allow for a sanitary accomplishment of such a body modification, there has to be
regulated job requirements; educational requirements; and a consistent salary.
Tattoo Artists have many job requirements. First and foremost, Every Tattoo Artist must complete
375 clock hours of tattooing practice while supervised by a practitioner of no less than five years

Those monthly earnings, compared to a teachers earning of around 4,000 a month are fairly
similar. Secondly, tattoo artists typically receive fewer than $30 dollars an hour (C.N.F.C.2017).
Since tattoo artist are the ones who pay for their equipment, the low hourly earnings will not
allow the artists to keep much of the money that they earn. Lastly, the main determining factor of
the salary of an artist is their tips. Tattoo artists tips are the only commission from the tattoo that
they get 100 percent of. Most artists work for someone else, who will take up to 70 percent of
the commission off the tattoo. If a Tattoo had cost $100 and the shop owner took off the full 70
percent of the artists commission, that leaves the artist roughly $30 plus whatever tip is provided

The second element that will need to be incorporated in the integrated care approach is the element

providers to use guidelines that they have formulated to provide pathways that will meet the needs
of patients with genitourinary infections (Pattman, 2010). This approach will source information
from opinion leaders, educational materials, practice facilitation, audit, multifaceted interventions,
and feedback. The third and last element of this approach is the method of enhancing self
management. This approach will enable community care, primary care, and other health care
providers to support patients with genitourinary infections to support efficiently and self mange
themselves. This approach will enhance improved overall clinical outcomes because of family and
patients education as feasible strategies for using self management materials. This approach will

pharmaceutical use of genitourinary medicine by consumers (Rogstad, 2011). These approaches

opposition on the part of the maritime unions to the original transfer of these functions to the Coast
Guard and this antagonism toward the Coast Guard has not altogether abated. (Brown/Fassett). Not

Martin Luther King Junior was an American Baptist minister and activist who was a key leader in
the Civil Rights Movement. King wrote and delivered many inspiring and moving speeches. In
addition to speeches King wrote several letters including, Letter from Birmingham Jail, in which

Birmingham. To justify his aspirations for racial justice and equality, Martin Luther King Junior
uses the emotional, ethical and logical appeals. In this paper, I will be discussing the cause and

Christ is the central person in Christian discipleship. Without Christ, Christianity would not exist
and there would be no followers of Christ. To be true followers of Christ, believers must be
willing to learn of the ways and teachings of Christ. Christ is central to Christian discipleship

God disciplines those whom He loves and uses those whom follow His commandments. Jesus
was hanged on a cross and crucified so that we would have the opportunity to be saved. He
suffered for us, so we should take up our cross on a daily basis and follow Him. Christians must
submit to Christ in order to be used by Christ. When a person submits to Christ, the Holy Spirit
will empower him to be used of God. If a person does not submit to Christ, then the Holy Spirit
will be quenched and the Christian will be disciplined by God. Disciples of Christ do not receive
salvation because they obey God, but they obey God and submit to Christ because they have
salvation (Rogers, Adrian, 2005). Jesus told the disciples that if they call him Lord they must
do what he commands (Matthew 7:22). To be a disciple of Christ, we must submit to Jesus and
trust that He is our Lord and Savior. We must have faith in Him and look to Him as our guide.
Disciples of Christ should obey Jesus because God is not a man, but a sovereign God who has
every right to command His disciples. Christ is not just a sovereign God, but also a saving God
who suffered on a cross so that humans could receive salvation. Disciples of Christ who are
saved by grace are not their own, but bought with a price that Jesus paid on the cross. Dietrich

Ultimately, education in its real sense is the pursuit of truth. It is an endless journey through
knowledge and enlightenment.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
I truly adhere to the above mentioned axiom, which made me to realize and understand the
importance of continuous learning and helped me in reaching greater heights. The inherent
curiosity for the field of computers started, right from childhood when I was able to perceive that
this magical machine possesses the potential to simplify the lives of people and empower them.
Initially, to my mind, this machine is a huge calculator, in which the advanced calculations are
performed, that cannot be done using normal calculator. This idea led me to initiate the learning
about computers. Tally is the first software which proved me that I was wrong about this
intelligent machine and it is capable of solving many complex problems that are plaguing in the
society. My strong affinity towards latest technologies, subsequent industry experience and a
strong will to reinvent myself through my coding skills helped me to go beyond horizons. I
believed a Master s Program could be a solution for my never quenching quest for knowledge. Also,
the four years worth experience in various application developments, boundless potential in
programming and interest in coding industry drove me to make a commitment to embark a Master

So when the first day of school for the integration has come, there have been riots, crowds of

23. Julius Caesar Polonius Quotes
At the end of act III scene 3, Claudius decides to send Hamlet off to England because of his
strange behavior. Claudius could have done this earlier in the play, which would have made it hard
for Hamlet to find out that Claudius murdered King Hamlet. But he only chooses to do this now. I
think this goes to show Claudius s bad judgment and his arrogance. He seemed to think that Hamlet
would never find out about the murder and that s why he kept him close. In addition, it is
interesting to see how stubborn Poloniusis. Even after eavesdropping in on the conversation
between Hamlet and Ophelia, he still believes that Hamlet s madness is caused by Ophelia
leaving him. He is so set on his opinion, and I wonder if this trait of his is going to play a larger
role in the future. Also, shouldn t Polonius get his head cut off for being wrong?
In the beginning of act III scene 2, I found it interesting that Polonius mentioned that he use to act
when he was at the university. He said I did enact Julius Caesar. I was killed i th Capitol. Brutus

I think this goes to show that Hamlet s madness is his acting and not his actual madness. In the
previous scene, Hamlet was yelling at Ophelia about how women deceive men and how there
shouldn t be marriage. But in this scene, when he finds out that Claudius murdered King Hamlet,
he is pretty calm. This shows that Hamlet is able to control his emotions and temper, which most
likely suggests his madness is acted. Now that we know Hamlet s madness is an act, it is
important to find out why he is acting mad. Does it contribute to his plan to kill Claudius? It doesn t
seem likely because his madness is causing Claudius to send him away, which prevents him from
killing Claudius. It ll be interesting to see how the madness factors into his plan for

As a person one might find that we follow a specific routine on the day to day basis. Sudden
changes to these routines feels weird and out of place. In William Faulkner s A Rose For Emily
based in a fictional town called Jefferson taking place during the twentieth century. The time period
is indeed an important factor because southern tradition was above all of the highest importance.
This short storygives the audience details of life during that time in which they followed the values
of southern tradition and the importance to never stray away from those traditions. The context of

In A Rose For Emily the narrator uses the rose as a symbol of resistance to change. Having been
mentioned in both the title and in the bed next to the body of Homer. Symbolizing the romance
of southern tradition (Kurtz 40). When a person receives the rose it is tradition to place it in the
pages of a book preserving its memory (Kurtz 30). Homer Barron is himself A Rose For Emily
and symbolizes southern tradition. By murdering Homer in the psychotic fashion detailed in the
story she has preserved his memory for herself. His decaying body is symbolic for the rose left
in the pages of the book (Kurtz 40). Like the Rose, Emily s watch which is usually connected to
a chain in her pocket is symbolic. Having been placed in her pocket the loud ticking is a constant
reminder of how change annoys Emily. The fact that the Keys 4 watch is not visible where she can
watch time fly is an example of Emily s pathetic attempt to hide the passing of time and control
change (Schwab 215).
Emily can be compared to Queen Victoria known to adapt to traditional values and feared for
straying away from those values (Dilworth 255). This comparison is the enhancement of Emily s
fear of change because the queen herself was disgusted with the very idea of change. Prince Albert
a foreigner was the unpopular husband of Queen Victoria because of his ethnicity. In this

26. Music Is The Most Popular Genres Of Music Essay
Music has been found in every culture in present time, as well as in the past, dating back almost
55,000 years (citation), with roots in Africa. Music is one of the most basic art forms and is a
way of life for many; a means of expression relative to emotions, culture, and one s self. Music is
all around us and it s hard to imagine going one day without listening to some variety of music.
Music has evolved tremendously from prehistoric times today, but one thing s stayed the same
one culture s music is influenced by the culture as a whole. The period in history directly
influences the style and genre of music. For example, in the mid 1930 s, during the Great
Depression, Swing music became one of the most popular genres of music, because it created an
upbeat vibe, which created pleasure and happiness that hadn t been felt due to the Great Depression.
Through music, the American population was able to experience a sense of joy that was otherwise
absent during that period in history. The brainis an astonishing organ of the human body,
comprising the majority of the central nervous system. The brain has great control over functions of
the body, as a whole. The brain allows for thoughts and actions to be executed on a daily basis.
Fundamental functions of the brain include instincts, emotions, behavior, and concepts (Perlovsky,

There are various factors that lead to victory. That s a fact for all competitions: battles and wars.
Motivation, environment, population, and resources seem to be the biggest factors. The War for
Independence, for example, was a war where most people could predict the outcome an
overwhelming British victory. However, the opposite happened. The people without a powerful
government, inexperienced soldiers, and a weak economy won. The British had a decent population
and plenty of resources, colonists, however, radiated motivation and fought the war on their own
land. The situation was different for the Civil War, though. Determination was shown by the South
and the fight was on their land, but the North excelled in population and resources.

industries, and the legal industry is no exception. We would all agree that digital transformation is
a current hot topic, both locally and globally, but do you know that digital transformation as a
concept is still misunderstood by many? What exactly is digital transformation ? Let us start with
a simple question, a definition. What is digital transformation ? At its most basic level, or at its
very core, digital transformation is the use of technology to radically improve the performance of
an organisation, and this includes its people. Businesses, including us in the practice and business
of law, often think of digital transformation as a formal effort to revamp our vision, models and

Literature Review The article Genetic Engineering to Improve Quality, Productivity and Value of
Crops by Abhaya Dandekar provides information on the various benefits that genetic engineering
allows for in a plant. Regarding nutritional benefits, genes that concern the production of healthy
amino acids, oils, and other substances can be edited, removed, or introduced to increase the
abundance of these helpful substances, allowing for generally healthier crops. Studies on the
popular plant Arabidopsis thaliana have revealed much about influencing when a plant will begin
to flower. This research is valuable in that it permits a better understanding of how to control the
length of the period of time between the growing stage of a plant, and the flowering stage (when
it can be harvested). In crops such as cabbage, the flowering stage can be stopped altogether,
letting the leaves themselves be harvested, instead of having the plant die after flowering.
Influencing the heat or cold resistance of a plant could allow for the crop to grow in temperatures
that it normally wouldn t be able to, such as having genetically modified bananas manage to grow

One specific examples of a species that has had some success with the Species Survival Plan is

36. Character Analysis Of Black Swan
In the film, Black Swan, the plot centers on Nina Sayers, a ballerina whose only goal is to play
the role of the Black and White Swan in her company s production of Tchaikovsky s Swan Lake
ballet. While she easily embodies into the innocence and grace of the White Swan, her shy and
fragile personality does not fit the seductiveness and mysteriousness of the Black Swan. As a
result, she struggles to become the opposite of who she is, worsening her issues with depression
and anorexia. In the beginning of the film, Nina was depicted as an average, normal person
living in New York that yet lacked the freedom to express herself as a sexually free, young
woman due to her mother s controlling behavior. When she wins the coveted Swan Queen role,
the feeling of immense pressure that comes with the role causes Nina to lose her tenuous grip
on reality and descend into a living nightmare. For example, she experiences symptoms such as
interpreting normal behavior from Lily as an attack because of Nina s jealousy toward Lily s
effortless embodiment of the Black Swan (Schacter, Gilbert, Wegner, Nock, 2014). Nina s
attention to negative behavior to Lily is a result of her own imagination she starts conceiving
events that did not happen such as a lesbian fling with Lily and her constant attempts to sabotage
Nina s ability to perform as the Swan Queen. In addition, she suffers through hallucinatory
episodes that involve bodily horror, such as her skin tearing off her body and the appearance of
an evil twin, every time she reaches a step closer to her full transformation of the Swan Queen.
In addition, she has developed an eating disorder called anorexia nervosa to meet the standard
body image required for dancers. While her loss of appetite only becomes worse as the film
progresses, this issue seems to have existed before the events of the Swan Lake production.
Ultimately, Nina becomes so trapped in the world of Swan Lake that she forgets about the real
world and truly becomes both the White Swan and Black Swan. However, her mind is unable to
harbor both forces on a physical and psychological level, and as a result, she unconsciously
chooses to commit suicide. Natalie Portman s portrayal of Nina s depression and anorexia

As safety practitioners, we need to understand that procedures can be the nemesis of any

Sometimes procedures are created too rigid and bureaucratic, and other times they re non specific
and ineffectual. The point is no one wants to be under the burden of unnecessary or unusable
procedures. What is needed is the right balance of simple instructions that are easy to read and

indicate flow and action you can outline a process and make it easy to follow.
Tip: Don t complicate your chart with too many symbols or too much text. It should flow naturally
from start to finish and be structured in a logical way.
Photographs or Diagrams Are commonly used especially where there is difficulty in
communicating due to illiteracy or use of multiple languages. The main goal of visualisation is to
make it possible to absorb large amounts of data quickly.
Tip: The saying A picture is worth a thousand words refers to the notion that a complex idea can
be conveyed with just a single still image. However just make sure you check that your image or
diagram is saying the right words to employees.
Step 4: Writing Style.
Remember when you write you need to consider the end user, the person who has to read and
understand your procedure. To ensure success adopt the following simple rules of writing;
Use plain everyday English words or local language. The use of uncommon, long or complex
words or sentences should be avoided where possible.
Keep to short paragraphs and avoid using too many words. Just be specific enough to communicate
clearly.

Patrich Jeremy
DAY 1 There are so many sights to see at Yosemite National Park that it is difficult to choose
where to start your Journey. This guide will tell you all about the great finds you will see as you
explore some of the most beautiful and unique trails the park has to offer. Day one will be focused
on the northern part of Yosemite National Park.
Twin Lakes What a better place to start your adventure than to visit Twin lakes. This trail s name
is called Twin Lakes because of the fact that there are two lakes. One is called the North Twin
Lake, while the other is called the South Twin Lake. This trail is very popular because of the
nearby campground. You will definitely not get lost in this area, as... Show more content on

Figure 2 Frog Creek. Flikr.com While at Yosemite, why not visit a rockslide? Slide Mountain is
a very interesting area to visit. It is located in the east northern part of the park. These rockslides
are part of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The very steep bank located at the bottom of Slide
Mountain is 3230 meters in elevation. The glacial polish located in the rockslide indicates that
Slide Mountain was once filled with glaciers that eroded the mountain to make it so steep. This is
such a wonderful natural made masterpiece to visit for those interested in the geology of Yosemite.
An extremely enjoyable activity to do while you are there is to rock climb Slide Mountain.

Matterhorn Canyon
Just east of Slide Mountain, you will come across Matterhorn Canyon. This thirteen mile hike is
very famous because you will not find another canyon in Yosemite that compares to this one. This
canyon has a small river flowing in between the walls of Matterhorn Canyon. These walls are
scattered with rocks and meadows. Its cliffs are made out of smooth granite, which are crystallized
igneous rock. Hiking up the trail to the northern boundary of Matterhorn Canyon is Matterhorn
Peak. This peak is very spectacular in that you are able to ascend this peak with the right gear and
it is one of the highest peaks in the Northern part of the

40. Food In Japanese Food Culture
For those who don t know, Japan is an island off the coast of China in the Northern Hemisphere of
the world. One of the most important parts of Japanese culture is the cuisine. Something that might
not be known is that most of the food in Japan today was introduced when Buddhism started to
spread throughout the country. Although most of the food the citizens eat is made with
ingredients from the island, the country is a very food varied place. There are many different
types of cooking in Japan, some of which were adopted from other countries, but they all have a
Japanese spin to them. The cuisine is a good reflection of Japanese culture because it reflects the
elements of geography, religion, and customs. The use of ricein Japanese food culture is a long
standing tradition that is found to be very important to every meal ate on the island. Japan was
actually introduced to the world of rice by southern China many years ago (Web Japan). After
this original introduction during the Edo period, the rice was cultivated into wet rice paddies
that the Japanese would eat (Web Japan). This use of rice stuck around for nearly two thousand
years before the Japanese started creating other ways to use the rice they grew. When the rice was
introduced the Japanese dedicated a large part of the island to farming rice. The Japanese use so
much land for just farming rice because of the large quantity that they eat. In almost every meal
that is eaten in Japan, rice is served (Katz 318).

41. Erikson s Psychosocial Theory
Many children around the world have been neglected and abused. Abuse and neglect can be
damaging not only throughout childhood but also throughout adolescence, adulthood, and even the
next generation as well. Erik Erikson s psychosocial theory helps better understand the internal
thoughts throughout the lifetime of those who have been abused and neglected during childhood.
Erikson s psychosocial theory has many stages that focus on different parts of a person s lifetime
such as Trust vs. Mistrust, Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt, Industry vs. Inferiority, Intimacy vs.
Isolation, and Generativity vs. Stagnation. Children that have been neglected or abused can have
developmental and psychological issues beginning at a young age and following them... Show more

Erikson s stage, Intimacy vs. Isolation is discussing how adults either want to be with and around
with others or become isolated and reject others company. This stage provides some insight into
the rejection or acceptance of the children of the abused. Most of the time the children of the
abused do not get the attention they need due to the intimacy issues of their parents (Ehrensaft et
al., 2015, p. 16). Erikson s stage Trust vs. Mistrust can go along with this point as well. If the
parent is neglecting the child, the child will not get what it needs from the parent. Therefore, the
child will have a problem trusting others later on in their lifetime (Ehrensaft et al., 2015, p. 17).
Another one of Erikson s stages, Generativity vs. Stagnation is discussing how adults either want to
contribute to their children meaningfully or not at all. Most of the children in this study get no
positive contribution from their parents. Erikson s stage Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt , can
help better understand this point. If the parent does not spend time with their child they can also
keep their child from learning abilities and skills that they need to know. If the child does not learn
the necessary skills required to do certain and basic things, they may begin to doubt their own

42. Lysergic Acid Diethylamide Treatments
Lysergic Acid Diethylamide Treatments Lysergic Acid Diethylamide also known as LSD or Acid
is a hallucinogenic/psychedelic drug that has mind altering effects on the human body. This paper
focuses on the attempted therapeutic, medicinal, recreational, etc. applications of LSD with the
goal of curing or helping to mitigate some other undesired effect. Use of LSD is not without its
own risks so a portion of this paper will also focus on potential problems with short/long term
LSD treatment applications. This paper is by no means cumulative or holistic in its approach to
this subject and seeks only to inform the reader on an aspect of legal applications of otherwise
illegal drugs. As previously mentioned LSD is a hallucinogenic or psychedelic... Show more content

For the most part LSD treatment plans ceased in the 1970s this was mainly due to the fact that
unregulated experiments involving highly hallucinogenic drugs on sometimes unwilling
participants became frowned upon and rightly so. LSD can be dangerous depending on the
dosage and back in the 50s and 60s researchers would just keep upping the dosages until they felt
they got the desired results. You can see how that could get morally and ethically confusing. The
first example this paper covers is a study published in 1957 involving the use of LSD on
psychoneurotic patients under day hospital conditions; the overall goal being to make these
psychoneurotic people more manageable on a day to day basis. According to the author of the
study, Dr. Joyce Martin, the patients selected for treatment had to meet certain criteria such as:
no prior psychotic episodes, a good personality and high intelligence. (Martin, 1957). It is
unclear if the patients in this study knew what was going to happen to them and it is also unclear
if these patients participated willingly. This was of course a time where strict ethics board did
not exist and patient consent/knowledge was not always required to conduct scientific
experiments. Regardless, the experiments themselves were simple: patient arrives at the hospital,
eats breakfast, is put into their own room, an initial dosage of 25 to 50 gamma of LSD was
administered, dosage is increased until desired effect is achieved, patients are monitored and
offered lunch which they often refused due to nausea and then the reaction was terminated by
administering Largactil. Results varied from the patients becoming more receptive to less
receptive. Patients were often reported to experience vivid past memories as well as saying they
saw themselves as being younger when looking at a

Abstract In this study a new noise source is proposed as a one of renewable energy sources in
energy harvesting. Disk Jokey (DJ) is a common device in celebrations and other events.
Converting the produced noise from DJ to electric energy by using a suitable piezoelectric
transducer is the main aim of this study. Piezoelectric sensors used to convert the sound waves to
electric charges. Piezoelectric sensor of the model 7BB 41 2 was used. The piezoelectric sensors
were connected in series, parallel, and series with parallel combination connections. The disk
jockey was used as an acoustic noise source. The sound intensity levels of the output sound were 81,
84, 87 dB. The output of the three connection modes were measured at 0, 1,2,3,4, and 5cm distance.
The results showed that the parallel connection gave the highest power at the various distances. The
maximum generated power was 4.96mwatts without using an external power supply for the signal
condition device. The power decreases by increasing the distance from the source of the noise.

45. Gender Socialisation Gender
Socialisation refers to the lifelong social experience by which people develop their human potential
and learn culture . (Macionis, 2012)
In the society we live in today there is a strong difference between what is considered boy and what
is considered girl . This is because from the time we are born, to the time we die we are expected to
conform to a gender role. Gender socialisation is the development for boys and girls to be
socialised differently. Boys are raised to conform to the male gender role, and girls are raised to
conform to the female gender role. Behaviors, attitudes, and personality characteristics are
gender roles, which are expected and encouraged of a person based on his or her sex . (Spark
Notes, 2017) Today it is essentially believed that most gender differences are attributed to
differences in socialisation, rather than genetic and biological factors . (Boundless, 2017). By
gender socialisation, the simplest explanation is the process of learning what it means to be a
male or female in the society, in which gender stereotypes and bias are usually involved. For
example, boys should be tough, brave, strong, sporty, while girls on the other hand are soft,
moody, passive, and allowed to cry. And another example girls are expected to be clean and quiet,
while boys are messy and loud.
Gender socialisation appears very early in childhood, and it is generally regarded as one of the
most related issues. (Early Childhood, 2007) Children learn the

46. Homing All The Way Killer Case Study
There have been many Air Defense systems in the history of the ADA branch. One of the most
accurate was the Homing All the Way Killer (HAWK). The HAWK was a medium range anti
aircraft weapon system developed by Raytheon in the 1950s and fielded in the 1960s (citation). The
system worked together with radar, Information Coordination Central (ICC), Battery Control
Central (BCC) and launchers to engage enemy Aircraft. The launcher itself contained three dual
thrust rockets, was pulled behind a truck and emplaced strategically according to the unit s mission.
During the Persian war Kuwaiti forces used it against Iraqi Aircraft taking down approximately 22
Airplanes and one helicopter (citation). After Iraq invaded and captured Kuwait,
