Advantages And Disadvantages Of Limestone Caves
and minimized?
A Cave:
Caves, also known as karsts, are very unique and are a special part of our natural environment. Caves
form over a long period of time, 1000 of years (National Geographic, 2015). Caves are made up of
rock, ranging from volcanic to limestone. Limestone caves are more pleasing to the eye as they
usually contain more decoration such as stalactites, Shawls and Straws. As limestone caves are more
decorated they are more prone to damage and deformation (Science Kids, 2016).
Damaged caused by humans in caves:
Humans are causing great damage to limestone caves, some of which the caves themself cannot
recover from. Physical damage by humans has the greatest impact on caves (Bob Robins, 2005) There
are many ways humans have and continue to still damage caves, Majority of people assume that the
main damage to caves is through touching formations (Caving ,Survey 2017) However there are many
other factors that damage the cave just as badly such as graffiti, modernising caves and rainfall.
Tourist caves undergo the most damage (G.Enriquez, B, 2001)with lost formations, climate changes,
and urbanising the caves. Limestone caves are more susceptible to damage from a change in climate
than volcanic caves due to the rock type. When tourists enter caves they can create thermal
annomalies, the anomalies effect the overall temperature in the cave and this in turn effects the
production of formations. (FECYT, 2011). A research investigation undertaken by the University of

The Use Of Mnemonics
Khan (2008) declared that mnemonics are derived from Mnemosyne, ancient Greek goddess. A
memory aid or pertaining to aiding the memory. Often considered to be a code, device, acronym or
formula to facilitate memory or understanding (p.7). Mnemonic devices are memory aids that help
learners in recalling particular data by using a strategy or technique that enable learners to develop
memory (Richmond, Cummings Klapp, 2008). During the ancient time of Rome and Greece,
mnemonic devices have been applied in order to make the acquisition of target words easier by
providing clear pictures for thoughts and ideas (Baleghizadeh Ashoori, 2010). Mnemonics are useful
techniques that help learners remember vocabulary more effectively and this strategy involves
connecting unfamiliar information to the information that is already existed in the long term memory

According to O Brien (2011), mnemonics have a firm place in our repertoire of memory techniques
(154). In addition, Mnemonic devices are good memory enhancing strategies or techniques that assist
learners in order to link new information to the previous information stored in their cognitive system
and also these techniques, verbal or visual, that develop the storage and recall of data included in
memory (Ashoori Tootkaboni, 2012).
According to Shmidman and Ehri (2010), Mnemonics are effective when they speed up learning,
reduce confusion among similar items, and enhance long term retention and application of information
(p.160). According to Cohen and Aphek (1980) association is a mnemonic link to some element or

Ex Oriente Lux: American neo Orientalism and the Justification for the War on Terror
The September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon fundamentally changed
the dynamic of American identity threatening it s hegemony and creating a space of insecurity thus
necessitating a reassertion of state authority. In particular, the 9/11 post traumatic space required US
participation in an ambiguous War on Terror that institutionalized racially charged violence through
the demonization of the Islamic Other . The US led project to save its identity serves to permanently
etch within the American subconscious a false representation of modern terrorism in order ... Show

The 9/11 attacks have become a symbolic event marked by the American military retaliation and
changing East West relationship, the result being the materialization of neo Orientalist academia
wherein the Arab world is the focus and many major prototype components such as India and Turkey
are omitted from the neo Orientalist map. In the aftermath of 9/11, Orientalist depictions of an Islamic
Other have been highly visible within the Western world in both official rhetoric and the American
press effectively legitimizing normative binaries. Notably, the US War on Terror discourses promote
imaginary geographies by way of two critical axioms centering around the idea of West in opposition
of East : the righteous campaign and Islam in direct opposition to Christianity. As a form of critical
analysis, Orientalism provides an essential context in that it helps to unravel the ways in which
Eastern peoples, traditions, and cultures are depicted as irrational, backward, lazy and despotic in
direct contrast to the West, which is seen as rational, moral and the pinnacle of civilization. Prior to
the War on Terror , the US had envisaged an unequivocal role for itself and the 9/11 attacks simply
adduced the self perception of America as the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the
world. The US conception of the world draws heavily on the binaries of good and evil, viewing 9/11
as justification for any

contexts, distribution contexts, and audience contexts. Production context is the study of how texts are
produced; in this case, looking at this ad, it was not something difficult to create, most likely created
by 1 3 people, printed off and posted. When looking at distribution contexts, space is an important
element. Different types of media are located in different spaces , in this case this poster is located in a
university in order to affect the texts intended meaning. Audience contexts are the study of how
audiences use and make sense of the text. There are two types of audiences in this case, the inscribed
reader and the actual reader. The inscribed reader is who the media is deliberately addressed too,
which in this case is most likely university students, typically ones that consume alcohol. The actual

Jonbenet Research Paper
Imagine being kidnapped as a six year old, very terrifying right?
Jonbenet was a beauty queen that was kidnapped and later found dead.
Jonbenet was a beauty queen.
Jonbenet did fashion shows most of her life. Jonbenet did beauty pageants a lot. She really loved
doing those types of things. The girls who once shared the pageant stage with JonBenet Ramsey may
be all grown up, but still think about the tragic beauty queen, even 20 years after her death. (Edition 1)
JonBenet was in many beauty pageants around the US, she won most of them.
She only did pageants for a little less than 6 years because of her murder.
In her six short years, Ramsey truly achieved queen status in the world of beauty pageants. (Lee 2)

Different Structures Of The Brain Essay
Structures of the Brain
The Brain Stem
The brain stem or the medulla is the closest to the spinal cord. The brainstem is responsible for most
of the human bodily functions. The brain stem is critical for human survival and normal human
functions. The brain stem is also responsible for information of pain and touch from the head and
neck; it is also responsible for the inputs from the face and the mouth. Reticular formation is a group
of neurons, nuclei, that are important for sleep and wakefulness. In reticular formation there is nuclei
that are a major source of neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin is important for regulating mood and
activities.
The Pons
The pons is the region above the brainstem. The pons contains the locus coeruleus, a region of cells
that belong to the reticular formation. The neurotransmitter norepinephrine are necessary for arousal
and attention. These neurons are found in the brain and spinal cord.
The Cerebellum
Connected to the brain stem and is located in the back of the brain is the cerebellum. The cerebellum
is responsible for motor coordination and also some learning involving movement. Once someone
learns a new motor action that information is held in the cerebellum.
The Midbrain
The midbrain is located above the pons. The midbrain has an area called the substantia nigra which
holds different nuclei. The midbrain is responsible for the body s movement that is not covered by the
cerebellum. The neurotransmitter dopamine, that produced by

Natural resources have been existent due to its capacity of regeneration. But we are living at the time
when we are using the natural resources at a rate when compared to natural resources regeneration
rate. Previous civilizations that have already fallen had the luxury of exploiting its natural resources
without fear of extinction. These civilizations lived in the times when they existed expansive spaces

Dracula And Dracula
Imagine a movie is being shown of a person who is casually minding their own business while taking
a stroll through the woods somewhere. Suddenly, there is eerie and suspenseful music playing in the
back of the character s mind and they think, What in the world is that? They think A. It must be a song
they heard a long time ago, B. Some cute and fuzzy cartoon characters are about to come out and start
singing, or C. They re about to run into a scary monster or murder. Odds are, if the watcher know how
suspenseful movies and novels go, they would probably pick C. People are able to pick out certain
aspects of a novel or movie and know that something bad is about to happen. Same as in the movie
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, originally written by Seth Grahame Smith, and then produced into a
movie by Burr Steers. Vampires and zombies, such as in these novels and movies, would make
someone scared, mostly because of how strange and different they are from us, also known as The
Other. The ideas of suspense, monstrous or scary beings, and The Other shown throughout Pride and
Prejudice and Zombies were all influenced by the classic novel Dracula, written by Bram Stoker.
The idea of suspense is represented differently depending on what the movie or novel is about. Movies
that have characters that are considered to be fictional would more likely have stronger suspense than
a movie that has characters that were living in real times. An article relating to the movie Pride and

Error Locked San Bernardino Attacker s iPhone, Mr. Comey, director of the FBI, stressed that by
unlocking the phone, it would only provide more information about the attacks and would not help
gain a powerful enforcement tool elsewhere. This suggests that by unlocking the phone, it would not
be used as an enforcement tool in other situations, and will therefore pertain to the social fabric of
Americans. Furthermore, according to the New York Times article, Obama Administration Set to
Expand Sharing of Data That N.S.A. Intercepts, until now, the National Security Agency (NSA) has
filtered surveillance information for other agencies such as the CIA and FBI and has also masked the
names and irrelevant information of innocent Americans. Practically, a new system would be
implemented that would allow other agencies to obtain direct access to information from the N.S.A. s

information by using a process known as minimization. Realistically, agencies only gather the
important information and filter out irrelevant ones. As shown, the FBI s way of gathering information

vital information about the attacks and even future ones can be collected, while other irrelevant

Fieldwork Process Analysis
According to Williams and Menendez (2015) fieldwork process comprises of three factors that create
momentum; results oriented action, awareness of observations, and other practices to generate new
behaviors (p. 175). Although, fieldwork is a great strategy to create momentum it is important not to
assign excessive fieldwork to the client (Williams Menendez, 2015). The purpose of fieldwork or
homework is to produce affirmative energy (momentum) between the client and the coach. Moreover,
it maintains the client motivated, driven, and focus resulting in a positive attitude helping the client
achieving his/her goal.
As a future coach, I believe that helping clients keep the momentum throughout the coaching process
is vital to the success of the clients. Having and maintaining a proactive relationship with the coach is
possible at the beginning of each session every time the coach and client work together. By creating a
judgement free zone where clients can faultlessly and openly discuss with the coach their goal and
what is impeding them on attaining that goal. A judgment free zone propel the clients to learn ... Show

sessions. Finally, I will construct an action plan to follow with my consumer. This action plan will
help me contact keep the client accountable throughout the coaching process. As a future coach I
believe that a good coach should be able to provoke productive and creative moments throughout the
coaching process. Additionally, a good coach should be able to help the client maintain his/her level of

Les Damoiselles d e Avignon did in Paris around almost the same time. The difference between the
two paintings were the sizes and the media that would account for its difference in the impact of the

Rober Robert Johnson
A standard form of blues is the 12 bar blues form, typically consisting of three 4 bar phrases and in
AAB form. The AAB form refers to a pattern of three phrases. The first two phrases are generally the
same, possibly with a slight variation. The last phrase, (phrase B) generally consists of a different
melody and lyrics than the first two phrases, adding contrast to a verse or chorus. Robert Johnson s
lyrical phrasing relate to the 12 bar blues form because of his variation on the third phrase, Asked the
Lord above Have mercy, save poor Bob, won t you please, compared to the first two identical phrases,
I went to the crossroad, fell down on my leaves, (repeated twice). The three phrases in the first chorus
are not all exactly four bars each. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are four separate choruses, and the most prominently varied chorus seems to be the fourth (and
last) one, where Johnson appears to employ techniques of improvisation of melody. Pitch blending,
another characteristic of the blues, is significantly demonstrated by Robert Johnson. Pitch blending
involves intervals even smaller than half steps, creating blue notes common in the blues genre. What I
most prominently noticed when listening to Johnson s melodies was the presence of irregular form
with the addition of beats from his guitar. I also noted the rural blues aspect of this piece, reflecting
life in the South, with themes of religion God, and loneliness. Overall, his piece Cross Road Blues,

The Pros And Cons Of Copyright Law
Part 1
1. What is copyright?
Answer:
Copyright is a manifestation of protection given to the authors or makers of original works of
authorship. Copyright law gifts authors and craftsmen the selective right to make and offer duplicates
of their works, the privilege to create subsidiary works, and the privilege to perform or presentation
their works freely. The copyright in a work of authorship quickly turns into the property of the author
who created it right now it is put into altered structure. Nobody yet the author can claim copyright to
the work, unless the author awards rights to others in a composed understanding, for example, to the
author s distributer or record organization. Generally, we can tell who the author of a work is the
individual who created it. Anyway some of the time, it is not exactly that simple.
2. Copyright is automatic when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This does not encroach the copyright owner s selective distribution rights. This was accordingly
systematized in Copyright Act of 1976. In the connection of licenses, this law says that a buyer of a
licensed article has the right to use, repair, and exchange the article with no obstruction from the
patentee. The patentee may at present hold control of the article through terms in the permit or sale
contract.
8. What is attribution as it pertains to copyright?
Answer:
The act of attributing particularly the act of securing a specific individual; as the inventor of a works is
lies under the cases of copyright. As sometimes people think that they can use the copyrighted work
by just putting a reference of the author/owner of the work. But it is not sufficient; individuals who
want to use any type of copyrighted work; they have to get permission from the author/owner.

Essay On An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
Death Is a Reality, No One Can Escape It
An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, directed by Robert Enrico, depicts an occurrence in the mind of
Peyton Farquhar. He is a civilian who tampers with the Union s railroad system and is going to be
hanged, and all he can think about is escaping and getting home to his wife. Unfortunately, death is a
reality and no one can escape it.
One of the first occurrences that is a reference to death is at the beginning of the movie. As stated by
the Sobchack s, In the opening sequence a man is being prepared for a military execution at dawn
(27). Most of the time dawn is thought of as signaling a new day and people are happy to have woken
up that morning, however, that is not the case for Peyton Farquhar because he is about to die.
Another detail of nature that is used to express this theme is the fact that the seasons keep changing. In
the introductory scene the trees are slightly barren like it is late fall, but after Peyton escapes it is
suddenly springtime. This is probably a detail put in by the director to emphasise that late fall and
early winter are usually depicted as the times that plants die. Mr. Enrico is also using the fact that
every time Peyton thinks that he has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

end of the tunnel there is light, but the end that Peyton is running towards is nothing but a dark void.
This is a hidden meaning in reference to what happens when people die and they say that their going
toward the light. Peyton doesn t want to die; so, he is trying to get as far away from the light at the end
of the tunnel as fast as he

Scheduling In Ant Colony
3.3 Scheduling in Ant Colony
CPU scheduling is the basis of multiprogrammed operating systems. By switching the CPU among
processes, the operating system can make the computer more productive.
In a single processor system, only one process can run at a time; any others must wait until the CPU is
free and can be rescheduled. The objective of multiprogramming is to have some process running at
all times, to maximize CPU utilization. The idea is relatively simple. A process is executed until it
must wait, typically for the completion of some I/O request. In a simple computer system, the CPU
then just sits idle. All this waiting time is wasted; no useful work is accomplished. With
multiprogramming, we try to use this time productively. Several processes are kept in memory at one
time. When one process has to wait, the operating system takes the CPU away from that process and
gives the CPU to another process. This pattern continues. Every time one process has to wait, another
process can take over use of the CPU. Scheduling of this kind is a fundamental operating system
function [18].
Scheduling problems play a central role in ACO research, and many different types of scheduling
problems have been attacked with ACO algorithms (see table 2 [1]) The performance, however, varies
across problems. For some problems, such as the single machine total ... Show more content on

Terrorism And Terrorism Essay
Radicalization is a process of socialization to extremism. Radicalization processes is what lead to acts
of terrorism. It thrives in an enabling environment with a sediments of injustice, exclusion and
humiliation among the terrorists groups. Triggering factors varying in accordance to individual
experience and personal pathways to radicalization, it is due to global, sociological and political
drivers such as extreme marginalization, general decline or globalization. Hence, to analyze the
drivers of radicalization, we need to understand the collective grievances behind radicalism by making
comparisons of primary causes of radicalization which will ultimately lead to terrorism in different
terrorists groups like ISIS and LTTE, will allow us to decide if whether terrorism is primarily due to
globalization.
Terrorism is primarily due to globalization. Due to globalization, there was a widespread of
dissatisfaction, due to the very rapid changes in society, and the Western supremacy. Breeding grounds
for radicalism and terrorist recruitment emerge not because of deprivation, but rather the time at which
negative social, economic and political trends converge. Especially in the Arab world, relative

The Impact Of Immigration Policies On Communities And The...
The Impact of Immigration Policies on Communities and the Future of West Michigan I m 50%
Dutch, 25% German, 15% Polish and a 10% mixture of others I can t remember. Does this sound
familiar at all? These types of phrases were one of the first things to befuddle my perception of my
new found West Michigan friends when our family first moved up to Grand Rapids from a small town
in Texas in 2008. It perpetually amazed me as to how so many people had so many different percents
and a few even impressed me more so by knowing them to decimal place. Many shared their heritage
with a swelling pride, and I soon came to learn that this source of pride actually came from West
Michigan s history built upon immigrants which can be traced back all the way to the 18th century.
From the huge mass of Dutch immigrants that brought us tulips to the Germans that brought us one of
our favorite foods, hot dogs, immigration has had a significant impact in creating our West Michigan
culture and industrializing our economy (Nickmanes). With immigration policies today, people from a
diverse pool of nationalities such as Hispanic, Asian, Arabic, European and many others continue
come to West Michigan and call it home. These immigrants today help develop our community and
our economy, in ways that are sometimes overlooked, and leave an overall positive impact just like the
many immigrants embedded in many of our genes ( New Americans in Michigan. ). Immigrants have

Essay On How To Not Fail At Terraria
How to Not Fail at Terraria By A Person To get started, you want to build a house at a comfortable
size, making extra rooms for NPCs when they need them. After that, you want to explore, hopefully
having a snow biome right next to you without having to go through a jungle or corruption/crimson, as
the boreal wood weapons do more damage than the wood ones. Make a boreal bow with plenty of
arrows before going into the desert. Another handy thing is a desert biome, because of sand and the
ability to completely skip wooden armour, so long as you block up the chasms with SOLID BLOCKS

In destroying a Crimson Heart/Shadow Orb, a meteor has a 50% chance of spawning at midnight that
night, and a 2% chance every night after that. But, a meteor has a 50% chance of spawning
immediately if broken between midnight and 4:30 AM. This means that, for a plentiful harvest, you
may want to break one heart/orb before and one after midnight (I haven t tested this, but it should
work in theory.) This way you can harvest meteorite armour and tools before fighting the Eye of
Cthulhu, ensuring the odds in your favor. After beating the Eye of Cthulhu, you probably have enough
equipment to make better weapons, such as the Blood Butcherer and Light s Bane (NOTE: the War
Axe of the Night costs the same and does more damage than the Light s Bane, and is an axe), but don t
make the yo yo s unless you have leftover supplies because they do less damage and cost more (but
have better range.) If you have a corruption, then it is possible to farm for Ancient Shadow Scale,
although it takes forever to get one set. If, by any unlucky chance you have a Crimson, getting the
materials for gathering hellstone is going to be difficult. You may want to test your luck fishing in the
ocean for the reaver shark instead of facing the Brain of Cthulhu. But, if you do face the Brain, the

She points out to Torvald that their marriage was a clear failure when she questions Torvald, How
could you ever teach me to be a proper wife? Your wife? (Ibsen 82). To this question Torvald is unable
to provide a reasonable answer hence proving Nora s point about the failure of their marriage. Further,
the sudden change in Nora s behavior during the second half of the play is significant as it symbolizes
her clear intent to depart from the house in search of her inner self. The egression of one of the female
protagonists from each of the works has a profound effect of the other characters and their
development. The departure of Gertrudis is met with both extreme anger and sadness opposite
emotions. Mama Elena s reaction to Gertrudis elopement is one of absolute outrage. She in a way
almost disowns Gertrudis by burned [burning] Gertrudis birth certificate (Esquival 55) and claiming

Globalization And Mass Migration Is A Diverse And Dynamic...
Globalisation and mass migration means that Australia is a diverse and dynamic place. In Australia,
many refugee background students experience difficulties adjusting to their new environment and
school settings. The increasing diversity in Australian schools present various challenges for not only
refugee students and their learning experiences, but for teachers as well. Therefore, the consideration
and evaluation of educational research is crucial, so that educational practices and pedagogies are
informed by research for the benefit of students learning and development. With the increase of
refugee background students there has been a need for the implementation and evaluation of strategies
and policies in order to establish appropriate ways to engage with the complex issues around refugee
background students transition to education. This can be seen through the creation of the Refugee
Action Support Program (RAS) that was designed to provide tutoring to students from refugee
backgrounds in Western Sydney schools. In regards to educational policy, the Multicultural
Educational Policy aims to respond to the cultural diversity of New South Wales by committing
schools to providing opportunities that enable all students to achieve equitable education and social
outcomes ( Multicultural Education Policy, 2016). Such programs and policies reinforce that Australia
recognises the increasing cultural diversity and needs of refugee background students in Australian

Every couple of months, I go to Trader Joe s. I enjoy their organic products and the prices as well.

do not mind traveling far to their favorite chain stores. In Virginia Postrel s essay, In Praise of Chain

Chain stores have turned Augusta into an exciting place by bringing many products to consumers,

Eating there reminded my cousin of growing up in Alabama. Being able to shop at chain stores, helps
tourists enjoy their favorite product or food. Thirdly, chain stores help the economy. The author says
that, Chains let people in a city of 250,000 enjoy retail amenities once available to a huge metropolitan
center. Costco is a warehouse that has members like Sam s Club. When Costco opened in Augusta in

people are traveling from Columbia, SC and other places that are much smaller than Augusta. The
Augusta Chronicle also reported that a Costco employee earns twelve dollars an hour. This is great
with minimum wage being seven dollars and twenty five cents an hour. Chain stores usually are very
popular and keep customers coming back. The more people that shop, the more employees need to be
hired. Jobs are created when these big retail stores open. Discounts are given to employees which can

Social, Justice, Equality, And Social Justice
Social justice is mutually a practice and a goal. The goal of social justice is complete and equal
contribution by all people in a society that is equally designed to meet their needs. Social justice
allows for all members of society to be physically and psychologically safe and secure. It is a set of
values that allow us to understand what is right and wrong in our world regardless of race, culture and
economic status. That we take care of those in need of help, so that they can take care of themselves.
Social justice allows equal rights and opportunities to everyone in society. Economic justice is the
belief that we are all entitled to equal opportunities to work. That you receive equal pay for equal
work. That we have a fair and open job market. That even if you are an unskilled worker you can still
make a living wage. Economic justice is good for everyone because it allows for us to be able to buy
the goods made and keeps the economy steady. Social work supports the use an ecological and
systems approach to help people with their problems, however for a long time no one paid much
attention to the earth. Environmental justice also shines a light on racism and economic injustice.

Theme Of Courage In A Lesson Before Dying
Almost everyone knows the right things to do. When a bully is picking on a victim, people around
them know the right thing to do stand up for the victim. However, knowing the right thing to do and
doing the right thing are two very different things the difference is courage. This is shown clearly in
Ernest Gaines novel, A Lesson Before Dying, in Henrik Ibsen s play, A Doll s House, and a quote from
the movie Hidden Figures. Courage is shown through Grant, Nora, and that there s no bathroom for
me here (0:31) from Hidden Figures respectively. In A Lesson Before Dying by author Ernest J
Gaines, Grant is the protagonist who is trying to do the right thing for his people. Grant is in a very
turbulent situation, having to make Jefferson into a man by the time he is executed. This is the central
plot of the story, but not the main themes and ideas of it. Grant is struggling to help Jefferson because
he sees generations of injustice through him. We got our first load of wood last week, [Grant] told
him. Nothing changes, he said. (Gaines, 53). The response Grant s teacher gives him has a deeper
meaning: he as Grants teacher failed to change the injustice and racism and Grant is in the same
situation. Nothing changes , but Grant does not give up for the sake of Jefferson, his people, and most
importantly, himself. At one point, Grant actually reveals that it is too heavy a burden because of all
the others who have run away and left their burdens behind. So, he,

Analysis of Behind Grandma s House
In the poem Behind Grandma s House , Gary Soto writes about an experience he had as a young boy.
He speaks of himself as being a nerdy Spanish boy who wants attention. He screams out for attention
by acting out in negative ways. Most know, to bring attention to one s self, one can acquire it by acting
negatively or positively, but negative attention brings punishment. Soto obtains his grandmothers
attention at the end of the poem, but he may have regretted it. Gary Soto s Behind Grandma s House is
a 1952 free verse poem that uses imagery to suggest the speaker s perspective of the story. From the
beginning of the poem, Soto depicts himself as a ten year old who wanted attention. He also depicts
the era by which the setting of the poem is written. He states, At ten I wanted fame , the word fame
standing for his intense need for attention (1). In the next line he said, I had a comb / And two Coke
bottles, a tube of Bryl cream (1 2). By this he meant, he had thick glasses and slicked back hair, and
for that era, thick glasses were for nerds, and the slicked back hair was the fashion in the 1950 s. In
addition, a slang word in the 1950 s was Daddy O , who by which Soto refers to a priest (17). He
states, No way / Daddy O to an imaginary priest (16 17). Since Soto uses the word priest, and not
pastor or reverend, this indicates the person for whom he imagined calling Daddy O was a Catholic
male (17). Soto uses the word Chale toward the imaginary priest, which

What Is A Story To Write A Short Story
LITTLE WILL PENNY sat behind a dustbin in an alley just off a quiet commercial street somewhere
in London listening to the sounds of the holidays. Christmas music floated above the din of traffic. A
rotund old man in whiskers, glasses and a long red coat rang a bell in front of a candy shop. Kids
pulled their mums and dads along the sidewalks searching for treasures in toy stores. Twinkling lights
spread muted color into the gloom of the alley.
Will had neither mum nor dad, nor toys, nor candy, nor anyone to give such things to a homeless boy.
He had no part in the holidays, so he didn t join in the festivities. It was good that Christmas brought
joy to the shoppers out on the street for a few days. But for him, it only made that vague hollow in his
heart even more empty. As far as he was concerned, Christmas was for other people.
Will had never celebrated Christmas because he never had a real home. All he knew of his parents
came from a neighbor couple who raised him. To hear them tell it, Will was lucky they took him in.
According to his foster parents, neither his mum nor his dad wanted him. His mother abandoned him
when he was still an infant. To be blunt, she threw him into the snow, out in the alley behind their hut.
His father was worse. He was a dark wizard, crazy, and dangerous. Instead of a wand, he carried a
bronze dagger that had a mind of its own. They frequently got into bar fights, and eventually they
killed someone. The Police searched for

The Canadian Guidelines For Sexual Education
Sexual education is an important topic which as to be addressed due to the growing debates as to
weather it should be implemented within the school system. The Canadian Guidelines for Sexual
Health Education states that sexual education curriculums addresses a range of topics including
puberty, effective contraceptive methods, prevention of STI/HIV, communication skills, sexual
orientation, interpersonal relationships, and media literacy (Public Health Agency of Canada).
Children need to address such issues early in order to protect them from early initiation of sexual
activity, sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy. The issue is then weather or not parents
support such a program. A historical factor affecting sexual health education (SHE) is how it affects
those strongly rooted in religion. Canadian education is divided between non secular schools and
denominational separate schools (usually Catholic). Canada is a largely Catholic country, with 67% of
the population describing themselves as Roman Catholics in the 2011 Census (NHS, 2011). In Ontario

1. The settlement date or the range of potential settlement dates
2. The method of settlement or potential methods of settlement (The term potential methods of

3. The probabilities associated with the potential settlement dates and potential methods of

He was a lover of the Roman architecture and classical theatre. Palladio had illustrated Daniele
Barbaro s Italian translation of Vitruvius De architectura, which was a detailed work that explained
what theatre was like in the Roman Empire. It includes floorplans for Roman theatres and an elevation
for the scaenae frons of Vicenza s ruined Roman theatre, the Teatro Berga. The scaenae frons is the
elaborately decorated permanent architectural background of a Roman theatre stage. Normally there
are three entrances to the stage (Palmyra has five) including a grand central entrance, known as the
porta regia or royal door . The form may have been intended to resemble the facades of imperial
palaces.[1] The scaenae frons is often two and sometimes three stories in height and was central to the
theatre s visual impact for this was what was seen by a Roman audience at all times. Tiers or balconies
were supported by an exuberant display of columns, normally in the Corinthian order, often originally
including many statues in niches.[2] In smaller theatres it could support a permanent roof, enclosing
the whole theatre, and in larger ones awnings over the whole or parts of the theatre, perhaps secured to
masts rising above it, for which there is some evidence.[3]As well, Palladio s papers include plans for
the imagined reconstruction of the

Research Questions On Rheumatoid Arthritis
Positionality and Research Questions
Introduction
Patients diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis present chronic systemic inflammation, contributing to a
variety of symptoms such as pain in joints, muscle cachexia (muscle wasting) and decreased muscular
function, and so reducing their quality of life (Ekdahl and Broman. 1992). Rheumatoid arthritis is
characterized by the systemic inflammation of the synovial membrane of one or more joints and an
abnormally high presence of pro inflammatory cytokines. (Cooney, Law et al. 2011).
It has been recognised that there is a common cycle of chronic inflammation within rheumatic
patients. This is initiated by the production of pro inflammatory cytokines leading to a higher risk of
attaining a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is well known that exercise applies physiological stress on systems; for instance on the muscular
and cardiovascular systems, causing long term physiological adaptation if it is occurs persistently over
a period of time. Exercise could be utilized in rheumatic diseases if applied correctly in order to
interrupt the cycle of chronic inflammation by inducing anti inflammatory effects via releasing
cytokines with anti inflammatory properties (Petersen and Pedersen. 2005). In the long term, exercise
can improve muscular function which is diminished in RA due to muscle cachexia. Exercise is also
beneficial to reduce the risk of attaining a comorbidity such as cardiovascular or metabolic diseases
(Benatti and Pedersen. 2014). Research is required on the prescription of exercise and how to apply it
into the lives of patients. Studies are being done in these areas however these are different in terms of
the principles of training (Frequency, Intensity, Duration and Type of exercise). They also differ in the
types of patients used in the studies. Thus further study needs to investigate the optimal prescription,
exercise delivery and assist adherence to training (Cooney, Law et al. 2011).
Methodological Choice
Following this, my proposed research question would be What is the most effective exercise protocol
in order to improve physical capacity and reduce the risk of gaining a comorbidity in patients with
Rheumatoid Arthritis?
This question is based within the paradigm of

Relationship between How to Kill a Mockingbird and...
Feature Article: If you ain t better then a nigger, then who you better then?
What is a nigger ? Used as a disparaging term for a Black person in the modern world, calling a black
man, a nigger would be offensive and would be racist.
What is racism? Racism is a form of discrimination based on race, especially the belief that one race is
superior to another. Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts,
feelings or acts, or socially and unconsciously through institutions that promote inequality between
races.
Racism is relevant in society today as well as the past, where there was different kinds of racism,
through colour, gender etc. But, there is a different meaning of racism in the texts, To ... Show more

In this case, it is the innocent children Scout, Jem, and Dill who are wounded by the unthinking
cruelty of the adult community. They grow up carrying a burden of guilt and shame for a system they
had no part in creating. Still other victims are the eccentrics and individualists like Dolphus Raymond,
who has to give up their pride and place in the community in order to live and think as they please.
Harper Lee purposely used Scout as the narrator to portray that racism is shown differently in children
and in adults. The Killing of a Mockingbird is relevant in today s society, when children bully their
peers in the school playground just for their own enjoyment and making the person being bullied feel
bad for no particular reason. In the context of the book, Scout broke her promise to Atticus, her father
about fighting at school: My fists were clenched I was ready to make fly. Cecil Jacobs had announced
the day before that Scout Finch s daddy defended niggers. This quote has a relation to the metaphor of
discrimination To Kill a Mockingbird .
I remember the times when I have physically, mentally and emotionally bullied someone just for a
small laugh among my peers, as I held a deep thought into these moments, it became more personal to
me I realised how I would feel if someone did the exact same thing to me. I personally know how it

The Attack On September 11
The attack on September 11, 2001 is defined as a group of Islamic terrorist who are believed to be
members of the al Qaeda, attacking the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, also known as the Twin
Towers, by hijacking four commercial airlines. Only three of the four attacks succeed. This is
considered a terrorist attack to most of us. From this incident we can define terrorism as a well
planned violent attack that targets innocent people to send a political message by planting fear not just
to the country or government but also to civilians. However, terrorism cannot and should not be easily
defined in this way. The definition of terrorism defined above is defined in America s point of view
and not al Qaeda s perspective. If we put ourselves in al Qaeda s shoes, our definition of terrorism is
going to change. Al Qaeda declared war to America because they felt that the Muslims were
threatened by the U.S. as well as their freedom. It is not to be said that the actions of al Qaeda should
be justified, but we should try to understand them before making assumptions. Al Qaeda dealt with
their situation to extreme by planning massive attacks but it could be considered as a method of
protection instead of a terrorist attack.
The most unexpected horrifying day in the United States can be said to be the terrorism attack of
September 11, 2001 which killed approximately 3,000 and injured almost 10,000 people. As most
already know, the attack was carried by 19 Islamic terrorist from

Hillary Clinton Flaws
Millions of Americans this election season are making the pledge, I m with her , but is the woman in
question making the pledge, I m with them back in return? Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic
nominee for President of the United States, has seen growing support for her campaign against her
opponent Donald Trump. Clinton has been caught in numerous scandals over her political career, and
has been trying to redeem herself during this election period. Hillary Clinton recently said, Always
aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep faith.
And, when you re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can t or

From April 2013 to March 2015, Clinton received $21,677,000 in speaking fees in addition to the
$26,630,000 her husband received. This is from the woman who claimed to be dead broke when she
left the White House in 2001. Hillary Clinton has been bought out by Wall Street, it s just a proven
fact. She made multiple speeches to Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Kohlberg
Kravis Roberts, and UBS Wealth Management, all while making $225,000 per speech. On top of the
huge amounts of money, she will not even release the transcripts of what she spoke about. Sound
suspicious? She has also received donations for hundreds of thousands of dollars from health care
companies, entertainment companies such as A E, and religious organizations such as the Beth El
Synagogue in Minneapolis. In addition, companies such as Bank of America, GE, the Xerox
Corporation, Cisco, and the Gap Inc. have all given money to Clinton. Even eBay gave an honorarium
of $315,000. The list just keeps going on. The Clinton Foundation, which is rumored to only donate
approximately 10% of its income to charitable causes, has even received contributions from the Saudi
Regime and Nigerian dictators. Clinton also hid a $2.35 million donation from the head of the Russian
government s uranium company, violating the Memorandum of Understanding she signed with the

Cannibalism Or The Consumption Of Human Flesh By Human
Cannibalism Culture
Cannibalism or the consumption of human flesh by humans is an act in which many people feel
uneasy about and is ethically immoral to participate in ( Cannibalism , 2008: 427). However, it is a
ritual that is practiced in some parts of the world. There are still cultures that feel that the eating of
humans by humans (Lawless, 2006: 435), is perfectly conventional and acceptable. This may create a
culture shock for many individuals that don t engage in such rituals The reasons why people
participate in cannibalism are due to many factors, but it all narrows down to the culture that an
individual is introduced and/or indulged in. It is common to think that Cannibalism can be seen as a
survival technique. When one is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each culture and group is unique and practice cannibalism differently. There are individuals who
consume human flesh because they have no access to any other food source and if they don t eat they
ll die, while there are individuals that due it solely because of religion or revenge. There is a fine line
between what is right and what is wrong. The opinion that you have on cannibalism, whether positive
or negative does not directly reflect the opinions of every individual in the world. It all boils down to
how you the individual was raised and in which culture was he/she raised in. In many cultures,
cannibalism is seen as taboo and a topic that individuals do not want to think or talk about, but there
are cultures that see it as perfectly normal. Cannibalism is part of their tradition and these individuals
do not feel remorse for their cannibalistic actions. To them, cannibalism is morally

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Limestone Caves and minimized? A Cave: Caves, also known as karsts, are very unique and are a special part of our natural environment. Caves form over a long period of time, 1000 of years (National Geographic, 2015). Caves are made up of rock, ranging from volcanic to limestone. Limestone caves are more pleasing to the eye as they usually contain more decoration such as stalactites, Shawls and Straws. As limestone caves are more decorated they are more prone to damage and deformation (Science Kids, 2016). Damaged caused by humans in caves: Humans are causing great damage to limestone caves, some of which the caves themself cannot recover from. Physical damage by humans has the greatest impact on caves (Bob Robins, 2005) There are many ways humans have and continue to still damage caves, Majority of people assume that the main damage to caves is through touching formations (Caving ,Survey 2017) However there are many other factors that damage the cave just as badly such as graffiti, modernising caves and rainfall. Tourist caves undergo the most damage (G.Enriquez, B, 2001)with lost formations, climate changes, and urbanising the caves. Limestone caves are more susceptible to damage from a change in climate than volcanic caves due to the rock type. When tourists enter caves they can create thermal annomalies, the anomalies effect the overall temperature in the cave and this in turn effects the production of formations. (FECYT, 2011). Often considered to be a code, device, acronym or formula to facilitate memory or understanding (p.7). Mnemonic devices are memory aids that help learners in recalling particular data by using a strategy or technique that enable learners to develop memory (Richmond, Cummings Klapp, 2008). During the ancient time of Rome and Greece, mnemonic devices have been applied in order to make the acquisition of target words easier by providing clear pictures for thoughts and ideas (Baleghizadeh Ashoori, 2010). Stephanie Pak AP Human Geography Mr. Shaw 22 February 2016 Ex Oriente Lux: American neo Orientalism and the Justification for the War on Terror The September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon fundamentally changed the dynamic of American identity threatening it s hegemony and creating a space of insecurity thus necessitating a reassertion of state authority. In particular, the 9/11 post traumatic space required US participation in an ambiguous War on Terror that institutionalized racially charged violence through the demonization of the Islamic Other . The US led project to save its identity serves to permanently etch within the American subconscious a false representation of modern terrorism in order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 9/11 attacks have become a symbolic event marked by the American military retaliation and changing East West relationship, the result being the materialization of neo Orientalist academia wherein the Arab world is the focus and many major prototype components such as India and Turkey are omitted from the neo Orientalist map. In the aftermath of 9/11, Orientalist depictions of an Islamic Other have been highly visible within the Western world in both official rhetoric and the American press effectively legitimizing normative binaries. Notably, the US War on Terror discourses promote imaginary geographies by way of two critical axioms centering around the idea of West in opposition of East : the righteous campaign and Islam in direct opposition to Christianity. As a form of critical analysis, Orientalism provides an essential context in that it helps to unravel the ways in which Eastern peoples, traditions, and cultures are depicted as irrational, backward, lazy and despotic in direct contrast to the West, which is seen as rational, moral and the pinnacle of civilization. Prior to the War on Terror , the US had envisaged an unequivocal role for itself and the 9/11 attacks simply adduced the self perception of America as the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. Essay On An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Death Is a Reality, No One Can Escape It An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, directed by Robert Enrico, depicts an occurrence in the mind of Peyton Farquhar. He is a civilian who tampers with the Union s railroad system and is going to be hanged, and all he can think about is escaping and getting home to his wife. Unfortunately, death is a reality and no one can escape it. One of the first occurrences that is a reference to death is at the beginning of the movie. As stated by the Sobchack s, In the opening sequence a man is being prepared for a military execution at dawn (27). Most of the time dawn is thought of as signaling a new day and people are happy to have woken up that morning, however, that is not the case for Peyton Farquhar because he is about to die. Another detail of nature that is used to express this theme is the fact that the seasons keep changing. In the introductory scene the trees are slightly barren like it is late fall, but after Peyton escapes it is suddenly springtime. • 17. Scheduling In Ant Colony 3.3 Scheduling in Ant Colony CPU scheduling is the basis of multiprogrammed operating systems. By switching the CPU among processes, the operating system can make the computer more productive. In a single processor system, only one process can run at a time; any others must wait until the CPU is free and can be rescheduled. The objective of multiprogramming is to have some process running at all times, to maximize CPU utilization. The idea is relatively simple. A process is executed until it must wait, typically for the completion of some I/O request. In a simple computer system, the CPU then just sits idle. All this waiting time is wasted; no useful work is accomplished. With multiprogramming, we try to use this time productively. Several processes are kept in memory at one time. When one process has to wait, the operating system takes the CPU away from that process and gives the CPU to another process. This pattern continues. Every time one process has to wait, another process can take over use of the CPU. Scheduling of this kind is a fundamental operating system function [18]. The increasing diversity in Australian schools present various challenges for not only refugee students and their learning experiences, but for teachers as well. Therefore, the consideration and evaluation of educational research is crucial, so that educational practices and pedagogies are informed by research for the benefit of students learning and development. With the increase of refugee background students there has been a need for the implementation and evaluation of strategies and policies in order to establish appropriate ways to engage with the complex issues around refugee background students transition to education. This can be seen through the creation of the Refugee Action Support Program (RAS) that was designed to provide tutoring to students from refugee backgrounds in Western Sydney schools. In regards to educational policy, the Multicultural Educational Policy aims to respond to the cultural diversity of New South Wales by committing schools to providing opportunities that enable all students to achieve equitable education and social outcomes ( Multicultural Education Policy, 2016). The goal of social justice is complete and equal contribution by all people in a society that is equally designed to meet their needs. Social justice allows for all members of society to be physically and psychologically safe and secure. It is a set of values that allow us to understand what is right and wrong in our world regardless of race, culture and economic status. That we take care of those in need of help, so that they can take care of themselves. Social justice allows equal rights and opportunities to everyone in society. Economic justice is the belief that we are all entitled to equal opportunities to work. That you receive equal pay for equal work. That we have a fair and open job market. That even if you are an unskilled worker you can still make a living wage. Economic justice is good for everyone because it allows for us to be able to buy the goods made and keeps the economy steady. Social work supports the use an ecological and systems approach to help people with their problems, however for a long time no one paid much attention to the earth. Environmental justice also shines a light on racism and economic injustice. Look at places like Flint, where poor mostly black people were drinking lead laced water. When a bully is picking on a victim, people around them know the right thing to do stand up for the victim. However, knowing the right thing to do and doing the right thing are two very different things the difference is courage. This is shown clearly in Ernest Gaines novel, A Lesson Before Dying, in Henrik Ibsen s play, A Doll s House, and a quote from the movie Hidden Figures. Courage is shown through Grant, Nora, and that there s no bathroom for me here (0:31) from Hidden Figures respectively. In A Lesson Before Dying by author Ernest J Gaines, Grant is the protagonist who is trying to do the right thing for his people. Grant is in a very turbulent situation, having to make Jefferson into a man by the time he is executed. This is the central plot of the story, but not the main themes and ideas of it. Grant is struggling to help Jefferson because he sees generations of injustice through him. We got our first load of wood last week, [Grant] told him. Nothing changes, he said. (Gaines, 53). The response Grant s teacher gives him has a deeper meaning: he as Grants teacher failed to change the injustice and racism and Grant is in the same situation. Soto obtains his grandmothers attention at the end of the poem, but he may have regretted it. Gary Soto s Behind Grandma s House is a 1952 free verse poem that uses imagery to suggest the speaker s perspective of the story. From the beginning of the poem, Soto depicts himself as a ten year old who wanted attention. He also depicts the era by which the setting of the poem is written. Kids pulled their mums and dads along the sidewalks searching for treasures in toy stores. Twinkling lights spread muted color into the gloom of the alley. Will had neither mum nor dad, nor toys, nor candy, nor anyone to give such things to a homeless boy. He had no part in the holidays, so he didn t join in the festivities. All he knew of his parents came from a neighbor couple who raised him. To hear them tell it, Will was lucky they took him in. According to his foster parents, neither his mum nor his dad wanted him. The scaenae frons is the elaborately decorated permanent architectural background of a Roman theatre stage. Normally there are three entrances to the stage (Palmyra has five) including a grand central entrance, known as the porta regia or royal door . The Attack On September 11 The attack on September 11, 2001 is defined as a group of Islamic terrorist who are believed to be members of the al Qaeda, attacking the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, also known as the Twin Towers, by hijacking four commercial airlines. Only three of the four attacks succeed. This is considered a terrorist attack to most of us. From this incident we can define terrorism as a well planned violent attack that targets innocent people to send a political message by planting fear not just to the country or government but also to civilians. However, terrorism cannot and should not be easily defined in this way. The definition of terrorism defined above is defined in America s point of view and not al Qaeda s perspective.
