3. Sony NEX 5 HD Camera and
Camcorder
When constructing and also planning my trailer I used a camera
that I already had.This camera is a 16 megapixel camera, that also
has the ability of recording in HD video.The camera is able to be
mounted on a tripod, so the camera can be kept steady which is
important. For any shots that I do take handheld, the camera has
an anti-shake function. I also used this to take some location
photos.

4. Apple Macbook Air
For my whole project, I will be using my own laptop. I chose to do
this as I have a lot of software that will work well for my trailer,
and also I can take the work home to complete. I thought that this
would be the most productive way to work, and having suitable
software and not using it would be silly. I have multiple programs
on here, that are all suitable for the task set. I will talk about all of
these later.

5. Apple iPhone
My phone played a large part in my project from organising photo
shoots, filming, and also taking photos of potential locations. I also
ended up using this to film a couple of scenes as it has a good
camera on it capable of recording in HD.
I also in my evaluation used it to show people my trailer for them
to give me their opinion.

7. Wordpress
When starting my research at the start of the course, I went back
to the blog that I used in AS for my Music magazine project. I
found that this free blog service is quick and easy to use, and fairly
user friendly.Through this course, particularly close to deadlines,
the website has been having some problems, becoming fairly hard
to use.
For the most part, embedding videos into the blog is fairly easy,
and proves to be very beneficial as I was analysing trailers on
YouTube, it helped to put them in the blog to make more sense of
the analysis.Also,Wordpress allows me to receive comments from
other students and teachers, which helps in terms of improving my
work.

8. As said before, I usedYoutube to find trailers to analyse.Youtube is
an open video website allowing people to upload videos such as
home movies and also, allows production studios to upload their
official trailers.Youtube also allows you to take the video and
embed it within a blog or website.The integration between
Youtube and Wordpress.
One problem with this website that it takes time for videos to
buffer depending on how fast the internet connections, which at
school can be fast or very slow, and also, due to anyone being
allowed to upload videos on toYoutube, you can get a lot of
unrelated videos in searches, or unofficial trailers.

10. Wordpress
I used Wordpress throughout construction as this allowed me to
make quick posts as to where I am in my progress. I could make
quick posts about changes in my trailer, and also screenshot images
of what I have been doing and the required stages that it takes to
create things such as voiceovers and also the stages of my poster/
magazine.
As said before, it was at this point that Wordpress started to go
wrong, not allowing me to post, but I just saved the posts in Pages,
awaiting a time that it would allow me to upload the posts to
Wordpress.Also, due to the posts being chronological, I was able
to go back and look as to how the trailer idea progressed.

11. When constructing my trailer, usingYoutube to upload videos was
a great help.Again, there people can comment on the videos giving
their opinion, and also rate them, but along with this, the videos
can be embedded in to Wordpress and my blog.
One major problem that I came across was that because I had
recorded my trailer in HD, uploading the videos toYoutube too
forever. I had to scale down the quality to allow quick uploads.

12. iTunes
Been using iTunes extensively.Through my whole trailer, I have
been using audio downloaded from youtube (which I will talk
about later). All of these downloads were imported in to iTunes,
then retrieved in my movie editing software from here. iTunes was
essentially used as storage for all audio.
Garageband
When ever I downloaded audio that needed to be edited, rather
than, editing it within the movie editing software, I decided to edit
it within Garageband.This is audio editing software produced by
Apple.There were multiple pieces of audio edited within here
including the song and also the news report audio. I also used this
to edit and record my voiceovers.

13. Photoshop Elements
I used Photoshop Elements to create a part of my poster and
Magazine cover. I created the part with all the names in this
program then exported it. I also used this program to edit my
photos that I used for the magazine and also the poster. I
intensified the contrast and cooled the image to give a sterile feel
to the photos.

I used this website to convertYoutube videos to MP3 files. I did
this to use songs fromYoutube. I then transferred them in to
iTunes and finally in to iMovie. Sometimes I needed to edit the
song or audio downloaded, so I edited it in Garageband.

I used this website to download videos from youtube. I used these
videos in sections such as the news reports. I found this website to
be easy to use by just copying the URL of the youtube link in to
the website then clicking download.As easy as that.

15. iMovie
Due to me using my Mac, I decided to create my trailer on here. I
did this as all the software works seamlessly, so there is no
exporting and converting, as all of these programs work together. I
can insert songs from iTunes, and also insert songs from
Garageband.The program has a wide range of effects, with benefits
such as Smooth Motion, Quicktime Editing, Sound Distortion, with
multiple video effects.While I may have been able to use a
program such as Final Cut Pro, or Premier Pro, I decided not to.
The first reason being the seamless integration with all the other
programs that I used such as iTunes and Garageband.While this is
a program that comes with every Mac, the program has all of the
features that I would have used in a program such as Final Cut Pro.

16. Keynote
I have used Keynote (Apple’s own version of PowerPoint) to
create idea maps of my trailer. I also used this to create the final
shot with all the names and production information. I then
imported this in to iMove as a HD image. This is a fairly simple
program, but again the integration of the programs within each
other is very good.Also this helped create the images for my ident
Pages
I have used Pages (Apple’s version of Word and Publisher in one)
to do multiple things.The main two things I did in this program
was partially create my poster and my magazine over. I also
created the ‘Pandemic’ logo that you can see at the start of this
presentation.

18. Wordpress
I used Wordpress again to post all analysis as this will be the area
that my marks are awarded me on. I think this is the easiest way to
post as I have been using it throughout, so I am comfortable with
how the blog works. I was also able to embed all the things that I
needed to embed.
I usedYoutube to host all videos that I recorded of me talking and
of me interviewing people.The reasons that I usedYoutube, are

20. Slideshare
I have used slideshare in my evaluation to create these
presentations within my blog. I did this by creating the
presentation in Keynote, converting to PDF then exporting to
slideshare.The great thing about this; similar toYoutube, I can
embed the video to my blog.
Soundcloud
I used soundcloud to host the audio recordings that I took. I did
these in Garageband, exported to iTunes, then uploaded the song
to Soundcloud. I then, like Slideshare andYoutube, can embed the
whole thing to Wordpress.

21. iTunes
I used iTunes simply to export voice recordings to soundcloud
Garageband
I used Garageband to record voice recording for my analysis. I
found this program very easy to use as it is very obvious how to
use. It also works well to export to iTunes allowing you to create
easy MP3’s of voiceovers able to export to Soundcloud.
iMovie
I used iMovie to create videos of myself talking through my
trailers. I used this as I have used it through my project so am
comfortable of how to use it.
