Questionnaire Analysis
The majority of people who
answered my questionnaire were
male, which is what I predicted, that
more people who were interested in
the magazine would be male,
because typically, more males are
interested in Rock than females.
This means I need to balance my
magazine to appeal to both genders,
but more so Males. For example, for
the male gaze I would put a femme
fatale on the front cover, or I would
put an aspirational male figure on
there.

More people who took part in my
survey were full- time students,
which links to my next question of
price. Their status determines the
price of the magazine really.

Linking to my last question, most
people didn’t want to pay more
than £3, which in my opinion is
extremely reasonable, especially for
a lot of full-time students who aren’t
earning much money (if at all).
This again links to the price my
audience is willing to pay, and the
status. The age is vital, as my
audience is mainly 16-24, and are
full-time students, so I need to make
it reasonably cheap so that they can
afford it, and make it include articles
that people of that age will
appreciate.

The colour people mainly chose was
Red, so I will definitely include lots
of Red within my magazine, along
with certain amounts of the other
colours.

Not many people who participated
in my survey read more than two
magazines per month, therefore I
need to try to persuade people to
buy my magazine more regularly!

More people really want to see on
location photos, such as live images
from festivals, than studio photos,
which is what I predicted, because
the Rock genre is very real if you
like, compared to say Pop music
where a lot of music is recorded and
edited in studios, unlike Rock.
More people who answered my
survey had actually subscribed to a
magazine before than I thought
would have, which is surprising, but
still more people haven’t that have,
which shows in order to make
people commit to my magazine, I
need to do things to make them
want to subscribe!
Most people (only slightly) preferred
Rock itself, as opposed to other
forms of it, which is what I
predicted. This means I need to try
to contain some Rock based articles
in my magazine.

Most people use Facebook, shortly
followed by Twitter, which means I
ideally need to include Twitter and
Facebook logos on the front cover,
and I need to advertise on
Facebook.
