2. Apple Mac Computers
• I had to learn how to screenshot because it turned
out to be essential for my coursework
• I had never used an Apple computer before starting
this project so I had to learn how to use everything
from scratch – I did not even know how to turn it on
in the first lesson

3. Photoshop
• I did Photography at GCSE so I was fairly confident
with using Photoshop before I started constructing
the magazine, but there were still some new things
that I had to learn, which I used YouTube tutorials for

4. InDesign
• I had never used InDesign before starting this
project
• I found it very confusing to start off, but after getting
help from the teacher and using YouTube tutorials, I
soon figured out how it worked
• There are still a lot of things about InDesign that I
still do not know how to use

5. Wordpress
• This is what I used for my blog
• I had never used it before but found it surprisingly
easy to use
• It is easy to navigate around and laid-out simply

6. Powerpoint
• I used Powerpoint for lots of my evaluation answers
• The college Apple Macs have an updated version to
the version that I used at home and at GCSE so it
was slightly new to me, but it was simple to work out

7. Google Drive
• I had never used Google Drive before
• At first I found it incredibly confusing, but after getting help from
teachers and friends I found out it was actually quite simple
• For days when I needed to do coursework but Powerpoint was
not available, I used Google Slides, which was also new to me,
but was surprisingly similar to Powerpoint so it didn’t take too
long for me to figure out how to use it

8. Camera
• I used my own camera to take all the photos I used in my
preliminary task and the final music magazine, so I knew the
basics of how to use it from GCSE, but I also had to use the
video setting for my Question 4 interviews, which I did not even
know it had
• I did not use the college studio for my photoshoot, so I did not
learn anything about photo studios

9. SlideShare
• I used SlideShare to embed my Powerpoints into my
blog
• I had never used it before but it seemed fairly simple
and I did not need to ask for any help
• Before using SlideShare I did not even know that
Powerpoints could be embedded into blogs

10. SurveyMonkey
• I used SureyMonkey to make the questionnaires I
used for my research on both the preliminary task
and the final music magazine
• I had never used SurveyMonkey before but it was
very simple
• The only thing I did not like about SurveyMonkey
was that you have to pay to use more than 10
questions per survey, which impacted my research
as I could not gather lots of data in one go

11. Dafont
• I used the website Dafont to download the fonts that
I used in my music magazine
• Before starting this project, I did not know that fonts
could be downloaded on the internet and used on
Photoshop so I learnt a lot about that
