This document reviews and compares the presentation tools Prezi, VoiceThread, and SlideShare. Prezi allows for nonlinear, zooming presentations but can be difficult to use and expensive. VoiceThread allows collaborative presentations and commenting, especially benefiting hearing impaired students, but lacks interactivity. SlideShare easily shares existing presentations but lacks editing tools. Overall, the document evaluates the pros and cons of each tool and provides potential classroom uses.
2. WHAT IS PREZI????
• It is known as a visual storytelling software it is
different from other slide formats. Prezi to most
people are easy . It also provides templates this is
very interesting and helped getting started. This is
very engaging for students to have conversations
with teachers and learn about different techniques
for students to present presentations.
3. CONS OF PREZI
• In my opinion prezi is difficult to deal with.
• If you don’t have a certain browser you cant even make a
template or even see a tutorial
• Its not cheap anytime you need to have a different templates
you have to pay to have a upgrade.
• Can be printable but very hard depending on your computer
most just take notes by hand
• Dizziness when it comes to zooming in or out
4. PROS OF PREZI
Sharing- can share slides up to 10 people,
to be able to collaborate together
Zoom- can go zoom in and out of certain
ways has unique different ways of zooming
NON-LINEAR- Can use different ways and
different paths as well.
5. PREZI IN THE
CLASSROOM
• https://prezi.com/ajbcerz1fv-s/back-to-school/
• Prezi in the classroom I think would be a positive
but not for younger children because they would
not understand this. Prezi does not have certain
subjects it is very broad. You can also use this for
other videos such as youtube as well as many audio
files as well with any online tools students can use.
• There are many way I can go and use prezi in the
classroom. In the classroom for this link though I
would use it for making sure the students know the
rules of my class as well as have a idea what they
are learning for the day. Students I would have make
one of these slides about what they had learned
during my class.
6. PREZI VS. POWERPOINT
• Power point I believe is better
• Prezi and Power point are both user friendly
• Prezi so more flexible when presenting when PowerPoint is much more structured and neat
• Prezi is more complexed and a little bit harder to understand when PowerPoint is EASY and SIMPLE!
• Both offers free themes and backgrounds as well
• Its for sure good to have choices but I think Prezi for those with more technical knowledge not those
that aren’t where PowerPoint is for everyone good or bad with technology.
7. WHAT IS VOICE THREAD??
• It is a tool of sharing where the presenter has the ability to add images, videos and documents then add
audio as a comment or a text or video. It is used more so for hearing impaired students to collaborate.
Also can record responses using voice thread. This is a very helpful for presenters.
8. CONS OF VOICE
THREAD
• Not very interactive especially if
you are just sitting and staring at
a picture
• Pricey you have to pay just to
comment or put a photo up
• Loses focus for the students
• Only interactive by listening
9. PROS OF VOICE
THREAD
• Very interactive in a hearing
perspective
• Has a ability to to collaborate at
any time with others
• Is a group chat where not all
members need to be present
• Gives confidence to the hearing
impaired.
10. VOICE THREAD IN THE CLASSROOM
• https://voicethread.com/myvoice/thread/11612884/68474076/64821900
• This is great for children with hearing impairments I can be interactive with my students talking to them
in the presentation. The link I show here is a example of what I could use for character building. The
teacher was going over what they had learned. The students and him also shared thoughts of what they
were doing for the picture that is shown. This would be great because I can really help students with
disabilities for hearing.
11. POWERPOINT VS. VOICE THREAD
• Power Point and voice thread are very different from each
other
• Power Point you cant comment on a slide show/ power point
they can not interact with each other as well
• Voice thread involves everyone to comment or use audio they
are able to share their opinions in text or actual speaking
• Voice Thread I believe will make students way more
comfortable in a presentation settings and gives them
confidence to speak out
12. WHAT IS SLIDESHARE????
• SlideShare is a sharing of knowledge of any topic
this is one of the top 100 most visited site.. It
builds your knowledge quickly and it is a well
presented content that is used by top experts
13. CONS OF
SLIDESHARE
• There is no built in way to track who
sees your slides
• You have to use other programs to
create and edit materials
• Does not have transitions
• Can be challenging when uploading
video files
• Materials can be inappropriate
sometimes
14. PROS OF
SLIDESHARE
• Can upload already made
presentations
• Easy embedding in other websites
• Can share audio and video
• Customize privacy settings
• File conversion for viewing
• It can also hold/ upload large files
15. SLIDESHARE IN THE
CLASSROOM• https://www.slideshare.net/jamesbrion
es/classroombased-teaching-strategies
• This I would not use in class for this link
but this is a great slideshare to help me
with my class all in all I think this is a
great way for children. For children this
is just a different way of presenting
their thoughts. I would no use it in my
classroom because ill be teaching
prechool but for other teachers this
would totally be useful to them.
16. POWER POINT
VS. SLIDESHARE
Slide share uses internet on how to share with other
students
Power Point is a file that can be shared but through
email or some storage device
Power Point must be purchased and download for
computer
Slide share is free and is only on the internet
Power Point and Slide Share are in some ways the same
for presentation except slide share is more public
