Looking back at your preliminary task, what do
you feel you have learnt in the progression from it
to the full product?
Cover page
Preliminary task Final productIn the process of making the final product I
had researched quite a few different
magazine, which was good knowledge when
making it but I didn’t have that kind of
knowledge when making the preliminary
task. So some of the differences would be
the text, the font and the size, the image
(usually they don’t have lots of colours in
the background), and just some of the extra
features. For the preliminary task the colour
scheme is bright red and yellow which is too
bright and ‘in your face’, so for my final
product I used less bold colours. I think the
overall front cover looks much better on my
final piece, this is because I had examples
and research on real published magazines.

There is a big difference between my
preliminary and final product. On the
preliminary task I only use a small amount
of text and only 2 different fonts. Also only
2 different colours. Again the colours are
too bright, but in my final product it is
much more calm and neutral. When making
my final product I learnt how to make use
of the space I had, and how to arrange the
text/pictures so it looks professional. I have
better feature in my final product such as
the arrow and text on the picture, this was
because I had research on published music
magazines such as the Rolling Stone.
