3. What I have learnt
• I feel I have learnt a lot since my preliminary task, and I think it
shows in my final product.
• I wasn’t aware how much effort goes into making a magazine, and
how hard it is to make it look professional, while still including all
the information you need on the cover.
• I have learnt a lot about house style, and how it is so important to
keep your colour scheme throughout, otherwise it looks messy, and
it doesn’t help to link any of the pages together
• It is important to make the type of magazine clear by relevant cover
lines and images, otherwise your audience could get confused at
what sort of magazine they are buying, and could dismiss it thinking
it was a fashion magazine for example.

4. My full product compared to the
preliminary task
• I think one of the main things I noticed when I compared the
two, was the cover image. I have gained a lot of skills in
photography over the past few months. My full product was more
interesting, as I took more time thinking about what I wanted the
image to look like.
• I also learnt a lot about Photoshop, which I didn’t know
before, mainly about all of the tools, which have helped to make my
full product look more professional with the different tones and
colours.
• You can also see that my full product is more detailed, with more
cover lines included, and special lures designed to interest my
audience. My preliminary task looks a bit bare, without a lot going
on, and you can clearly see that my full product is filled a lot more
which would interest a potential buyer as they gain a lot of
information about the content without even opening the magazine.
