This document discusses the technologies used to create a music magazine product. It describes using an iMac computer with a dual-core processor and 3GB of RAM to run Adobe Photoshop and Safari for research. A Nikon DSLR camera was used along with lighting equipment to take photos, which were transferred from an SD card to the computer. related devices. Internal hardware devices include motherboards, hard
drives, and RAM. External hardware devices include monitors,
keyboards, mice, printers, and scanners.

This Apple Imac G5 has a Duel core processor which enables the
machine to multitask several applications at once. This is key when
working with adobe Photoshop and other applications such as safari
in order to do research. The machine is equipped with 3GB which
means it can run several applications without the need to be
reloaded. The keyboard was only used for researching on safari or
using the hot keys for example cmd+c which copies the thing you
want and cmd+v to paste the thing you want. The mouse was used at
all times to navigate the computer software.

Horseshoe flash trigger and a hemisphere 300 strobe flash in conjunction with the
camera as well as the soft boxes and backdrop to make the lighting more natural.
The horseshoe trigger connects to the DSLR camera enables the flash from the
strobe lights to be triggered at the same time that the camera takes the picture.
The white back drop is there to give a high exposure and a whiter background.
I used the SD card in the camera which enabled the pictures I took to save on the
card. I then inserted the SD card into the USB SD card reader and plugged it in to
the iMac I then transferred the pictures into a folder named ‘Photo shoot’

6. Adobe Photoshop and Safari
Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editor created by the company Adobe who
produces other software like in-design. I used Photoshop to edit pictures and put
together graphics such as pictures, boxes and shapes to create my cover, contents
and article for my music magazine.
I started off in Photoshop by playing around with the text and all the tools to
enable me to get the hang of using it. I set the page to A4 International size. From
there I created my Pre-lim task by just using the basic tools which helped me to
produce my Music magazine.
I used safari as my web browser as it was pre installed on the computer. I used this
browser to research existing magazines and to get an idea of what I could do for
my music magazine.

7. Slide Share, Adobe InDesign and
Microsoft Office
Slide share is a Web based slide hosting service. Where people can upload files privately or
publicly in the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or Open Document
presentations. Slide Share can then be viewed on the site itself, on hand held devices or
embedded on other sites. I used this website to embed my coursework I wrote on
PowerPoint onto my blog.
I used Adobe InDesign for my magazine article as it is used when working with large
amounts of text, which is what I was doing. InDesign has many features that are exclusive
just to them, for instance being able to make text carry on from one box to another.
I used PowerPoint to write up my evaluation. I used it because it is easy to use and have had
experience using it since primary school. It has a built in Spell Checker which is useful to
make sure I have spelt everything right.
I used Word for one of my homework's which was to analyse a front cover. I used word to do
this as it is basic and easy to use all I needed to do was insert a picture and write text around
it which word enabled me to do.

8. Word press
Word Press is a website that enables me to own my own blog which means I can
insert media such as images and videos as well as text. Also I can use this blog to
embed documents like PowerPoint's.
I used Word Press as it is easy to use as the features are easily assessable and
labelled. It is also useful because it dose not just work on one operating system
you can access it if your on your phone or tablet.
