The technology I have used and will use in my media coursework.

1. Technology

Technology I have/will use(d) and will use to develop
my music magazine.

2. iMac
I am able to use the iMac at school to upload files
and to upload posts to my blog. Although I don’t
have an iMac at home I have become familiar with
the layout and variety of programmes, therefore am
fairly confident using this type of computer.
Packard Bell Easynote Laptop
This is my laptop that I will be using at home to
continue my work outside of school. It is very easy to
use and had Windows which is compatible to most
other computer, except the iMac’s. This could prove a
problem when I need to continue work at school so I
must split my work and once I have finished I should
upload the files and there should be no problem with
the different softwares.

3. Adobe Photoshop Elements 9
This is a simple editing software that I will use to both edit
my photographs that I have taken, I will also be using it to
create my magazine front cover. I am using this for both
because I find it easy to use and fairly stress free allowing
me to find. However this is not available on the iMacs I
have access to at school so I have to transport my laptop
to school to edit and create the magazine.
iPhoto
This is a software that I may be occasionally using to
edit and upload photos. However the problem again
being that this programme is not available on my
laptop and only on the iMacs at school. Therefore I
will be rarely using this software on occasions I do not
have my laptop or are unable to use photoshop.

4. Google
This is the search engine I will prefer to use. In my
opinion it is the most efficient and relevant. Also
it is connected to the website I am using for my
blog so is easiest to use because of this. Also my
laptop uses google chrome therefore is the best
search engine personally for me.
BlogSpot / Blogger
This website is the one which the whole of my year are
using. It is not only the easiest and quickest for me to
familiarise myself with, it also allows me to check the
progressive of friends and compare work with them. In
addition it lets people leave comments on my work that
enables me to improve it on the opinion of my target
audience.

5. Prezi Presentation
I have used this website to create textual analysis
of existing music magazines. I used this to create
different ways of displaying things on my blog. To
begin with it was quite difficult to work with, then
it became familiar and I quickly began to create
presentations and annotations to images of
existing music magazines.
Slideshare
This is the website I have used to upload my
presentations onto my blog. It is simple to use
and easy to upload onto my blog. This also
allows me to view other people’s work and
presentations of other media students from
across the country.

6. Fujifilm Digital Camera
This is my own camera which doesn’t restrict me to
certain times and dates to use the camera, and my
work will not be at risk of being deleted. It is a 14
megapixel camera which will allow me to capture
images of better quality. The camera has an 18x
optical zoom, which I will not really need to use.
However there are large numbers of settings and
options on the camera that will ensure that I
capture an image with the best possible lighting
and definition.
