Question 6- What have you learnt
about technologies from the process
of constructing the product?
Technology used
I have used different forms of technology to help me create my music magazine:
•Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Presentation- I used word to type up my double page spread
information so it would be easier to transfer it onto Photoshop. I also used PowerPoint to present
mini clips of my research and construction of my magazine.
•Photoshop CS6- This was how I was able to create my music magazine. I performed all my editing
and improvements on there to be able to create my magazine how I wanted.

•Tumblr- I posted all my research and construction on tumblr. This was how I was able to present all
my work to keep everyone updated. It also includes my finished products.
•Flickr- I used Flickr to vary technology used, so I could present some of my work on it. I used this to
show my questionnaire and my finished product.
•Slideshare- This is also an online presentation program that I used to innovate and experience new
technology.
•Prezi- This is an online presentation program to present your work. I used this so I could get a range
of ways of presenting my work.
•Sony camera- I used my Sony camera to take pictures of my artiste and other people so they could
feature in my magazine. This was effective because the pictures came out clear.

What I have learned
I have gained a good knowledge of all the technology I have used in the process of
creating my magazine. It hasn’t been easy, especially with Photoshop because after
my preliminary task I had to explore and use tools I have never used to create my
magazine. Editing and making sure everything was right was the hardest part
because I had teach myself to use the tools I needed to edit with so I could get it to
the standard I wanted.
The longest part of creating my magazine was the contents page. I thought it would
have been the double page spread but it wasn’t. I had to take various pictures of
people and organise to meet up with them for my contents page. This was very time
consuming. I also had to make sure I put features that my target audience wanted so
that I would entice them to purchase my magazine. I changed the theme of my
contents page so many times to get how I wanted and that also was time consuming.

the background with the lasso
tool but it was really hard
because sometimes the tool get
caught onto the background and
will not cut out.
What I have learned
• I have also acquired another skill which
was turning PowerPoint into a movie. I
had no idea on how to do it at first but
I managed to pick up the skills as I
done it more often.
• This is one of the processes on how to
make it into a movie. I made sure it
was on automatically after 3 seconds.
This is because I don’t want the
transition to the next slide to be
extremely long, I want it to be long
enough so people can read it. It also
looks unprofessional if it lasts too long.
Limits
I think my main limit was time. I think that if I
had more time I would be even more creative
with my magazine, especially with the
contents page. I could have included more
features and maybe a few more images to
make it more vibrant.
Overall, I have enjoyed this experience because
it has broaden my knowledge on different
forms of technology, especially Photoshop.
