Question 4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

2. For the whole media task I used a variety of techniques to collect
me research. I did use the Internet to find out the age of the highest
suicide rates and I found out it was 15-23 years old. This was useful
because I was able to find my target audience age. For other
research on drugs I found out methods to create fake drugs that will
appear in my short film. I found out I could use flower in small bags
to act as cocaine and use other small bags of herbs to act as
cannabis. I feel the Internet allowed me to research the background
of my short film and this was helpful.

3. I think working in a group allows us to involve all our ideas and
have a range of different opinions and we have to negotiate so
there is a fair amount of work from all of us. I also think pitching
to our classmates helps a lot because we are all comfortable to
share out thoughts and opinions because we all mean well.

4. Looking at a range of case studies was useful for the research and
planning tasks because it meant we was able to take not on themes,
layouts, colours, and images and change them to make them our
own. This allowed me to use my creative skills and think outside the
box to create work nobody else has done.

5. I used programmes such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and
Illustrator. I had used InDesign before and Photoshop but it had
been a long time and it was difficult to use. After a while I was able
to create my film poster as I did get help. I did have to use
alternatives while working with Photoshop for some parts I did not
know how to use. For example, when adding in the star ratings I
though I would be able to paste a star into a text box on Illustrator
copy that and paste it into my Photoshop document. However, the
format of the star was not supported. I then use the image of a star
and put it onto paint where I lined up 5 stars. I saved it as an image
and had to paste it onto Photoshop while cutting around the
background of the stars.

6. I had to learn how to use other online programmes such as
PowToon, Emaze and Wix. These are online programmes that
began difficult to use but after a while and with patience and my
own help it because easier to use.
A programme that I used both last year and this year that was
extremely hard to use was Final Pro Cut. With the help of my group
we was able to work it out. We was able to use Final Pro Cut more
to its ability by adding effects, transitions, text and music.
