Question 4
1.
2. The audience for my magazine would be
around 19-24. My case studies had quite an
older range of people reading/buying their
magazine but I wanted to try and appeal to
them as I feel this age range would be easier to
get involved with buying the magazine on a
regular basis. Also with this age range I can use
a good balance of images and formal, well
structured written content without having it
sound ‘too young’ or too formal.
3. The targeted gender would be a mix of females and
males. I wanted to keep the magazine as a more
gender neutral magazine and try to appeal to any
gender because most magazines in this genre are
mainly female or male dominated and there isn't
one for all genders. The psychographic I think
would be more likely to read the magazine are
explorers and reformers as the music genre isn't
one which appeals to a more mainstream person or
one who is not open to different things (for
example, the rigid psychographic are not likely to
read a magazine which features something they
might consider weird or different). The social class
would be BC1C2 as 20+ year olds are most likely
not going to be in social class A but some of them
might have a job higher in the employment cycle
(for example, manager).
4. I think that the people who would want to
read my magazine are those who like the more
alternative/rock genre of music and who like
doing things such as attending concerts and
finding out about album releases and reviews
in that genre.
