Looking at the different areas of my blog, I can state how I have used a range of different media technologies to build and
develop my research, planning and other areas of my media task. Some examples of these technologies can include the use of the
search engine 'Google' which this allowed me to gather information on my research and planning where I have used it for
'costumes and props' for a more clear idea of the items that we can use. Along with this, I have also used this search engine for
such areas of the researching on the history of music videos, label research, artist and genre research. Looking at the history of
music videos, I was able to see how hip hop has changed over time and thought about creating a music video different from the
present ones.
Label researching was essential for my coursework in the way that as a group we could search about labels that release music
videos and from this, we could see and have a more open mind in creating a successful music video. The more known and
popular labels are to produce the best music singles and looking at those videos, we have gained ideas and features that we have
applied to our product (e.g. use of props including alcohol bottle). Being able to research on these factors, we was able to think
more creative picking up areas from other music videos that we can also include or even challenge as well as to have a wider
knowledge on the features that makes up a well piece for our music genre and etc.
YO U T U B E A N D M AC S
To watch and analyse music videos, I have used 'YouTube' which we can state that again,
we have used Google for this area as we have searched this streaming website from this
search engine. We have also used physical media such as our ipad’s for digitally sending
our questionnaire/survey. I have used YouTube to watch and analyse music videos so that
I can apply any skills used in professional music videos to our product if possible. Besides
the use of YouTube, I have used a mac to email out our survey that we have designed in
order to get feedback from our audience so that we are more clear on how to build our
product. I could have printed out the survey ad handed it to audiences by hand, however
through emailing, it was easier and more quick to get feedback. Also emailing is to target a
larger number of audiences as I selected all users (in the sixth form) when emailing.
PHONES AND IPADS
I can state how I have used a smartphone to location scout and to images for areas in which I
believe that we could use as the setting of our product. Imaging different areas and presenting
these to the other group members were a way to share our opinions and all agree on the ideal
location available for setting rather than every member moving together for only a task of
scouting for location. This would have took valuable time as every member was to take a role of
designing ancillary products (website and digipak). It was important that everyone was to agree
with the location, especially the artist as he had to be comfortable for our recording. Areas with
problems such as lighting could have changed the planning of recording as we had to also
produce a storyboard and we didn’t want to spend creating a useless storyboard so the setting
had to be agreed for suitability which is why I have taken images of it.
USE OF FINAL CUT PRO
As a group, we have used the software ‘final cut pro’ in order to edit and put
together our shots that we took. This software was useful in the way that it
provides a large range of editing skills that we can use. Examples can include
more font options rather than iMovie as well as allowing fast/slow motions and
screen dividing although we haven't used this feature in our product. Knowing
that this software will provide more options for editing, we have chosen this
software.

G O O G L E A N D YO U T U B E Looking at the different areas of my blog, I can state how I have used a range of different media technologies to build and develop my research, planning and other areas of my media task. Some examples of these technologies can include the use of the search engine 'Google' which this allowed me to gather information on my research and planning where I have used it for 'costumes and props' for a more clear idea of the items that we can use. Along with this, I have also used this search engine for such areas of the researching on the history of music videos, label research, artist and genre research. Looking at the history of music videos, I was able to see how hip hop has changed over time and thought about creating a music video different from the present ones. Label researching was essential for my coursework in the way that as a group we could search about labels that release music videos and from this, we could see and have a more open mind in creating a successful music video. The more known and popular labels are to produce the best music singles and looking at those videos, we have gained ideas and features that we have applied to our product (e.g. use of props including alcohol bottle). Being able to research on these factors, we was able to think more creative picking up areas from other music videos that we can also include or even challenge as well as to have a wider knowledge on the features that makes up a well piece for our music genre and etc.

YO U T U B E A N D M AC S To watch and analyse music videos, I have used 'YouTube' which we can state that again, we have used Google for this area as we have searched this streaming website from this search engine. We have also used physical media such as our ipad’s for digitally sending our questionnaire/survey. I have used YouTube to watch and analyse music videos so that I can apply any skills used in professional music videos to our product if possible. Besides the use of YouTube, I have used a mac to email out our survey that we have designed in order to get feedback from our audience so that we are more clear on how to build our product. I could have printed out the survey ad handed it to audiences by hand, however through emailing, it was easier and more quick to get feedback. Also emailing is to target a larger number of audiences as I selected all users (in the sixth form) when emailing.
  • 4. PHONES AND IPADS I can state how I have used a smartphone to location scout and to images for areas in which I believe that we could use as the setting of our product. Imaging different areas and presenting these to the other group members were a way to share our opinions and all agree on the ideal location available for setting rather than every member moving together for only a task of scouting for location. This would have took valuable time as every member was to take a role of designing ancillary products (website and digipak). It was important that everyone was to agree with the location, especially the artist as he had to be comfortable for our recording. Areas with problems such as lighting could have changed the planning of recording as we had to also produce a storyboard and we didn’t want to spend creating a useless storyboard so the setting had to be agreed for suitability which is why I have taken images of it.
  • 5. USE OF FINAL CUT PRO As a group, we have used the software ‘final cut pro’ in order to edit and put together our shots that we took. This software was useful in the way that it provides a large range of editing skills that we can use. Examples can include more font options rather than iMovie as well as allowing fast/slow motions and screen dividing although we haven't used this feature in our product. Knowing that this software will provide more options for editing, we have chosen this software.
