YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
AGE
We thought that thriller films tend to appeal more
to young adults as:
They are more likely to enjoy being scared.

They are old enough to gain intellectual pleasure
from this film.
They are old enough to understand the deeper
meanings behind elements of the film.
They can relate to the characters in the film.

Some of the issues discussed may affect them.
AGE
HOWEVER, we also identified another age group
as a secondary audience: adults, especially parents.

Parents  may be concerned with the issue at hand
if they have daughters to a similar age as the
characters.
Adults are more likely to enjoy ‘gritty British’
films.
They are old enough to gain intellectual pleasure
from this film.
They are old enough to understand the deeper
meanings behind elements of the film.
FANS
As a TERTIARY audience, we also identified fans
of the thriller genre to come and see our film,
simply because they will enjoy it.

Film fans are also most likely to see our product as
we plan to promote it at film festivals, where fans
would be present.
NATIONALITY/LIFESTYLE
Our film is cast with mostly white actors and
actresses, all of whom are British, but this does not
mean to say that any of our audience is alienated.
The themes in the film apply to all nationalities
and lifestyles, regardless of race.

Our film is likely to only be distributed in Britain,
so it’s probable the majority of the audience will be
British.
