2. AGE AND GENDER
When making our opening sequence we decided that our film would
most appeal to those between 15-20 and they would be our core
audience, as they can most relate to the themes and characters in the
film.
This audience is also most likely to watch a thriller film than those of
an older audience. But are old enough to understand the deeper
meaning of the story.
This young adult age range is also more likely to enjoy any violence or
being scared rather than an older audience
The young adult age range is also more likely to relate to the
characters and theme of the film as it is something that may have
affected them.
We feel that the film is open for those of both genders to enjoy and
relate to although In my opinion it is a more masculine film than a
feminine one due to the theme and violence.
3. AGE AND GENDER
HOWEVER, we did identify a secondary audience being those of an
older audience, more specifically parents who may have been
affected by the themes of the film and can relate to it.
Parents may be concerned with the issue shown in the film, if they
have children who have been affected by knife crime or gang related
issues.
Adults are also able to better understand what's going on and the
deeper meaning of the film and what it signifies.
4. NATIONALITY/LIFESTYLE
Our film is a British film and is most likely only going to be distributed
in Britain so most members of the audience will be able to relate to our
film as it has an all British cast in a British city so they will relate to
this.
Also those who may have been entangled in the gang lifestyle may be
able to relate to this as his plays a big part in the film.
However the films message applies to those of all nationalities and
walks of life as knife crime is a problem anywhere in the world so a
foreign audience wont feel alienated or left out in that sense.
5. TASTES IN FILM
Anyone who enjoys thriller films and detective films would
like our film simply because they enjoy that genre. Also any
film fanatic would see the film as we would show it at a film
festival to gain interest in the film as well as try to hook them
with a viral campaign online.
